Back again. Betcha didn't expect me so soon! I'm getting a little better at updating more often. I'm trying to get it as close to real time as possible, so that's why I'm speeding up a little bit and not going into as much detail. If you liked the old way of me going into every little detail, then let me know. If you like it this way, with me goin into some detail and trying to speed it up a little, then let me know that too! Either way, let me know what you think! Also, this chapter, as well as, the next couple or so to come I had help on (not that I was asking for it). A friend of mine, the same person who contributed a scene to one of my previous chapters, oh so long ago, had an idea for something in my story. He told me what it was, I liked it and told him that he could write it out and if I liked it, I would put it in the story. His input starts at the end, with the introduction of the new character. I won't disclose his name, because of various reasons. He's a great writer though and I hope to one day convince him to start a story of his own. Oh, and before I forget. A lot of authors (including myself) made the mistake of when writing about Justin's life at home w/ his mom, including his little brother Johnathan. Well, Justin, is Lynn's only son. The siblings Justin has are from his father's side. So, just thought I'd let y'all know, so you wouldn't be wondering where Justin's little bro was at. Anyways, enough of me blabbering, ON WITH THE SHOW!!

As we ran down the streets fleeing for our lives, we both couldn't help but laugh at the situation. The combination of the laughing, running and the shit load of breakfast that I had just ate, was taking its affect on me. I started to get a cramp in my side and said,

"I can't run much longer! I'm gettin a cramp!"

"Run into that building over there!" He said pointing to a door that was open.

We ran over to the building, and as we entered, we realized what it was. It was a school. We stood in the lobby of a junior high school filled with a bunch of kids. We stopped dead in our tracks and didn't know what to do. Behind us were the fans still chasing us, and in front of us were a bunch of kids, who if noticed us, would surly give us a run for our money. Again, all it took was one. There was a really high pitched scream and me and Chris took off down one of the empty hallways. It led to a side exit, which emptied out into a schoolyard which, was filled with more kids. The combination of kids from inside the school, plus the ones that chased us from the hotel and the ones that were now recognizing us in the schoolyard were just too much! But, we kept on running anyway. We exited through one of the gates and ran for our lives. Luckily, the security guards from the school had stopped the junior high schoolers, but there was still the case of the never-ending chase of the teenies. Luckily, when we were severely out of breath, we found an empty cab on a corner.

"CAB!" I pointed.

"GET IN!" Chris commanded.

We climbed in the car and I yelled,

"DRIVE!!"

The cabby, startled looked back at us and Chris said,

"What he means is, get the HELL out of here before that mob back there comes and crushes your cab. please." Chris said as there was now banging on the side door.

The cabby needed no further orders as he pulled off with a screech.

"Where to now?" I asked, "We can't go back to the hotel just yet, they'll be there waiting for us."

"What? You couldn't deal with another marathon?"

"Like you could!?"

"Point noted. how bout.."

"If you say the mall, I'm gonna kill you!"

"Ok. then how bout."

"Same thing goes for movies, arcade, strip club, and coffee!"

"Damn..."

"Fine. we can go to the strip club!"

"Yes!! Take us to."

"I was kidding!"

"I know! I was gonna tell him to drop us off like a few blocks away from the hotel, so we could sneak back in."

"Oh.. ok, sounds like a plan to me."

The driver did as instructed and I just sat back and caught my breath. It was a couple of minutes into the ride when I just started to crack up. Chris looked at me funny for a second but then joined in. The driver looked at us like we were psycho. We had arrived at the hotel, and didn't even notice. I paid for the cab and we snuck out the door trying desperately not to be noticed. It succeeded and we were safely back in the hotel, or so we thought. We heard some more screams so we just ran for the elevator. As we got in, the doors closed and we both let out a sigh of relief. We both leaned up against the back wall of the elevator and slid down and wound up sitting on the floor. We both started laughing again and when the elevator opened, we were too tired to get up. The funniest part was that Lance was just about to enter when he saw us sitting there.

"Where the hell were you!? I was worried!" Lance said.

"Uh.. well.." I started.

"You don't wanna know!" Chris cut off.

We both started laughing again and Lance just looked at us strangely. We managed to get up and got off the elevator. We went into Justin's room where the rest of the guys were eating breakfast.

"Look who I found!" Lance said.

"Where were you two!?" JC asked.

"You wanna tell em or should I?" I asked.

"You do it, I'm too tired!" Chris said throwing himself on Justin's bed.

"Ok. fine! Wimp!" I said sitting on Lance's lap.

"Ow.." He grunted.

"Shut up, you never complained before!"

"Ok. one, ill! And two.. what happened?" Joey asked.

"WHOA!! JOEY! DUDE! YOU'RE HEAD'S ON FIRE!!" I said noticing Joey's bright orange hair for the first time. They started laughing and Joey blushed. "What the hell did you do?!?"

"Don't worry about it, just tell us what happened first!" He said.

I told them the story and they were cracking up the whole time. Chris fell asleep and by the end of it, I crawled over to the bed and joined him.

"Look, my man sleeping with my best friend!" Lance said.

"Jealous?" Justin asked.

"Nah."

"Should we leave them and let them freak out when they wake up together?" Joey asked.

"Yeah, come on!"

About 3 hours later, Chris and I woke up.

"Hey Chris." I said.

"Hey Rob." He said.

We then both looked at each other and screamed. We then both realized what had happened then calmed down. We heard some laughing in the hallway and went to go check out who it was. It turned out to be Joey who was on his way back to his room.

"Mornin lover birds!" He said.

"Shut up before you die!" I said.

"Yeah!" Chris added.

We went to our separate rooms and they got ready for their appearance they had to do. When I got into the room I saw Lance just finish getting ready.

"Hey!" He said.

"Hey." I said groggily.

"You're still tired!?"

"You try running forever after you've just eaten."

"I have.. It's not fun!"

"Nope!"

"So, you gonna come with us?"

"Nah, I got some stuff I gotta do."

"Aw."

"Sorry babes!"

"It's cool. Anyway, I should be back around 9 or 10."

"Ok, if I'm still up, I'll see you then!"

"Bye!" He said giving me a quick kiss before he walked out the door.

As he left, I went in my bag and took out my planner. In it was listed all the tour dates and some scheduled appearances that I had to do. Do my disappointment, I didn't even have off on my birthday. That meant me and Lance both had to work.

"At least we'll be together." I thought to myself.

As I looked over what I had to do, I realized that I had to go over some things with my dancers and singers. I knew that they had arrived that afternoon, but didn't know what floor they were on or rooms they were in. I called up some of the management team that was there and they gave me the floor and room numbers. I went down to their floor and rounded up the crew. After filling them in on some stuff that they already knew, we decided to chill out and cause some chaos on the floor that night. Our first mistake was playing truth or dare, the perfect getting to know you game. Wait I lied. our first mistake was trying to fit 15 people into one room! Our next mistake was playing truth or dare. Before we started playing though, I made it clear that I would not be kissing anyone! They all booed and I got some pillows tossed at me, but it was cool after that. I got some good truth questions, various stuff pertaining to Lance and the guys, but it was Nicole who asked a rather interesting one.

"Ok, Rob.. Now, Julie and I both know that you and Kim were pretty close senior year. So, be honest. Did you ever want to fuck her?"

"Honestly?" I asked.

"Yup!"

"Well, considering I was with me psychotic bitch of an ex, not really. But, I did think about kissing her."

Kim started to blush and there were various woo's and oh's that filled the room. It was fun getting to know the people that I would be spending a lot of time with for hopefully the rest of my career. The dares were fun as hell too! Some involved the shaving of ones legs, not a girl and not me. Some boobs were flashed. Some kissing was done. Some alcohol was being passed around and I admit I took a few sips here and there, not enough to get drunk, or even tipsy. Well, enter alcohol in a situation full of people ranging from 18-24 and there's bound to be some trouble, whether it be sexual or other. At about 11 I got a page. I looked at it and it was Lance.

"Oh, hey I gotta go guys, my man is home!" I said.

"Aawww!" Was the reaction from the crowd.

"Sorry, but I haven't spent time with him in WAY too long!"

"You mean y'all haven't had SEX in way too long!" Kim said.

"Well.. that too, but shut up!"

"Fuck'em hard one time for me!" Bobby said, obvious that he had had too much alcohol.

We all laughed and after I said goodbye I said,

"Make sure Bob-o don't have anymore to drink!"

They all laughed and I went upstairs with a smile on my face. When I got into my room, I greeted my man and we told each other about the night's events. After talking to each other about nothing serious, which lasted to about 2 in the morning, we decided to get to bed.

I made sure we got to the venue extra early cause I was really excited. The guys all laughed at how hyper I was. I wish I could say my dancers and singers were in the same mood. When they arrived, they all looked like they were dead. Bobby and Dave were hung over, Kim looked like she was still asleep back at the hotel. I think, out of all of them Jessica, Tommy, and Mike were the only ones that were awake. By the time 12o'clock rolled around, it was time for a run-through of our set. I had hoped that they were all in good shape to do a good job, but for the first song, they weren't. We went through it a second time and it was better. That first song woke them up and got them focused on what they had to do. After that it went pretty smoothly. After we finished our set, we got to take a break. The guys came up to us and congratulated us. It was then that I made the introductions.

"Yeah, your man can really throw it down!" Kim said to Lance.

"They know?" Lance asked.

"Yeah, I told you." I said.

"Oh yeah.."

"You don't remember do you?" Dave asked.

"Uh. no."

We laughed at his embarrassment but then we were brought back into reality when my singers and I had to go back on stage so the sound people could get the right levels. After that was done, it was N Sync's turn. When they were done it was time for their meet and greet.

Here we were, five minutes before we had to be on stage. I was just leaving the guy's dressing room and was in the wings. We all got together and said a little prayer then hugged and took our places backstage. And so the lights went down.

After my set was done, I was hyped up. I saw the guys getting ready to go up to the tracks to get dropped down. They had been watching our whole set and were hyped up because of it. They congratulated me, and Lance gave me a quick kiss. As my crew filled the backstage area, we were all high on endorphins. We did a kick ass set and didn't mess up once. All that rehearsal and hard work paid off. We went to the eating area and broke out a bottle of champagne that I had gotten specifically for this reason. We finished it between the 15 of us and went backstage. We decided to go out for some drinks since we were done there. I told them that I had to be back in an hour or so, cause I wanted to be there when the guys got off stage. They agreed and we went to this bar that was in the venue.

Once we got our drinks I said,

"Ok, I'd like to propose a toast!" They all brought their attention to me and I continued, "First, congratulations on our first show." They all cheered, "Second, I'd like to thank each of you for putting everything you've got into it and helping in putting on a kick ass show!" More cheering, "And last, I'd just like to say, I hope we grow together as a family and stay together for a long time!" More cheering and a few tears, "Now drink up!" After the cheering was quieted for two seconds as we all downed our drinks at the same time, we all started cheering again. There was a lot of cheering. We stayed there for a little while talking about the show. We were all surprised at how smoothly it all went. Nobody messed up, not even once.

"Great, now if we could just do it the same way every show, we'd be set!" Tiffany said. (NOTE: Not the same Tiff that was in the chat room.)

"I doubt that's gonna happen!" Phill said.

"I KNOW that's not gonna happen!" I said.

As the time passed, I checked my watch and said,

"Ok, I'm gonna get goin, y'all can either stay here and wait for me to come back with the guys, or just meet us back at the hotel."

"HOTEL!" They all shouted.

When the guys got off stage, I was already waiting for them in the limo. I'd learned from what they told me that for most of the shows, as soon as they finished, they were rushed into the bus or limo to avoid fan traffic. That being the case, they were a little surprised to see me sitting there waiting, but nonetheless glad. Lance immediately jumped in my lap and gave me a kiss.

"Ew! You're all sweaty!" I said.

"You never complained before!" He said in his defense.

"But you were sweaty for different reasons all those times!"

"SO! How was the show!?" Chris said trying to change the subject.

"I'll humor you, it kicked ass! Oh my god! I'm like SOOOOOOOOO hyper right now!"

"Oooh. we could use that to our advantage!" Lance whispered in my ear.

As I started to smile, Joey said,

"Y'all feel like goin out?"

"Nah, too tired!" Justin said, "But I could go for an all out food fest!"

"Me too!" Chris said.

"Josh?"

"Yeah, I'm down!" JC said.

"Lance? You hungry?" Chris asked.

"Not for food!" Lance said still looking at me.

"Ok, that was a LITTLE too far!" Joey said.

"Sorry.."

"I take it Rob's gonna pass too then." Chris said.

"Hmm... food, or quality time with my man? Hmm. tough choice! Ok, let's go eat!"

They all looked at me in shock then I got a huge grin and said, "What? You thought I was serious!?"

There was a sigh of relief and Joey said,

"Whew! I thought we had lost you there for a minute!"

"Never!"

"Hey, why don't we go and hit on some of Rob's dancers!" Chris said.

"Yeah!" Joey agreed.

"Hit on them all you want, but don't hurt em! I need them!" I said.

"Hurt em how?"

"In anyway!"

"DAMN!" They both said.

"But seriously, see if they wanna go out. I know some of them were talkin about goin clubbin."

"Cool!" They both said again.

"Do you two share a brain or somethin?"

"Basically!" JC and Justin said.

"Oh god, don't you two start now too!"

When we got back to the hotel, we fought off the massive crowd of fans and made it into the lobby barely alive. As we all piled into the elevator, a suddenly all felt a wave of tiredness come over us. It started with Justin yawning, it then spread to Josh, which then spread to me, which then spread to Chris, then Lance then finally Joey.

"So, I take it the all out food fest is outta the question then, huh?" Joey said.

"I think so, my high just came crashing down." Josh said.

"Mine too!" I said.

"So that means no `quality time' for us then?" Lance asked.

"We can have a different kind of `quality time'. We could sleep!"

"That works too, as long as you're there with me."

"Ok, if it gets any cornier than that, I'm gonna barf!" Chris said.

"Yeah, that was kinda.. Eww." Joey said.

"Who asked you? And what, did your Superman obsession make you die your hair that color so you could be Superman Red? Or did you just wanna look like Bozo the Clown?!"

That got a laugh out of everyone, as well as a few yawns after. We got off on our floor and crawled to our rooms. Sleep is a good thing! Especially when you're dead tired, and you're sleepin with your man!

The next few days I had to get adjusted to road life. It was weird for me being in a different city every night. I spent that week mostly traveling with my group for a couple of reasons. One, I wanted to spend some time with them, and two, Chris just had gotten his dog, a really cute pug which he named Busta, and he was trying to house-break him. That's really hard to do when you're spending your time between a bus and a hotel room. But anyway, that's what I did.

Over the few days that I spent performing, I was a little upset that I (we) had to work on my (our) birthday(s). I made sure to spend the night before, as well as, that whole day with Lance, cause it was a special day. He was turning 20 and I was turning 19.

"Hey you!" I said as I woke up and saw him staring at me, "How long have you been up?"

"About 15 minutes. You looked so beautiful there, so peaceful."

"Happy birthday!" I said placing a kiss on his lips.

"You too!" He said breaking apart for only one second then pressing back up against my lips.

"So how does it feel to be 20?"

"So how does it feel to be 19?"

"No different then it felt at 18."

"Same here."

"We gotta get up don't we?"

"Yup, work is a callin!"

When we decided to get out of our bunk, we were greeted by a shit load of people that I didn't think could all fit on the bus. The all yelled "happy birthday" as soon as we climbed out of bed. They scared the shit out of us, but all was appreciated. They had gotten us a special breakfast. They got Lance French Toast, and they got me pancakes and bacon. After eating, they gave us presents. Lance got some "I Love Lucy" stuff and a whole bunch of other stuff, one of which I remember was an old gun from the guys. I really didn't have anything for him, and he didn't have anything for me either. It may sound corny, but we were just happy to be together on that day. I got some stuff that was cool, but nothing special.

The greeting from the fans was great! They had a whole bunch of signs sending us birthday wishes. After the show, we had a cake and some ice cream. We got calls from our parents and friends on our cell phones and both had numerous messages and emails. Although I was upset that I didn't get to do anything special, I was happy that I was with my friends, and where I was. No birthday present or celebration could top that. I was really grateful and I showed it. After the long, but satisfying day, Lance and I went to sleep. As much as we tried and wanted to fool around, we both were just too tired. It hit me that that would be happening a lot while we were on the road, but I came to the realization, that as long as he was there, it didn't matter.

The next morning I woke up to Lance sweating and moaning in his sleep. Normally that wouldn't be such a bad thing, considering I was usually the one causing it, but this time was different. He didn't look too well. I shook him awake and he woke with a start.

"Hey, you ok?" I asked, "Were you having a bad dream or something?"

"N.. no.. I . I just. uugh.." He said sitting up as much as the confined space would let him.

"Baby, you don't look too good!"

"I.. I don't feel too good either!"

"Do you feel like you're gonna throw up?"

"I dunno."

"Well, let's get you out of bed. Maybe you just need something in your stomach."

"Y. yeah."

I got out first cause I was on the outer end. When I got up, Joey was just passing through the aisle.

"Damn! This early in the morning?! You guys got some energy!" He said starting to laugh, but immediately stopping seeing the seriousness on my face.

"What's wrong?"

"Lance isn't feeling too well, I think he just needs something to eat or something. Do me a favor and get him some orange juice or something."

"Ok!"

"Are there any bagels left?"

"I think so."

"Make one for him for me?"

"Sure!"

I helped Lance climb out of bed and as soon as he stood up, he almost fell down, and would've too if I hadn't been holding him up.

"Whoa! Ok, just hold on and get your balance, you probably just got up too fast!"

"Uh huh.." He groaned.

I put my hand up to his forehead to wipe the sweat that was forming away and said,

"You're warm!"

"I am?"

"Yeah, come with me into the kitchen, we'll sit you down, give you something to eat and once we get to the hotel you'll take a cold shower. In the mean time, after you finish eating, we'll put a cold rag on your head."

"I'm ok Rob, you don't have to do that!"

"Ok? Look at you! You look like shit!" I said as Chris came out of the back lounge.

"Whoa Lance! You look like shit!" He said.

"See!"

"What's wrong?"

"He's not feelin too well and he's got a little bit of a fever. I'm gonna have him eat something then put a cold rag on his head until we get to the hotel."

"James said that should be in about an hour."

"Good!"

"Bagel's ready!" Joey said.

"Ok, come on Lance, we're goin to get you some food."

We got into the kitchen where his bagel and OJ were waiting for him. He took a couple of bites of his bagel and gulped down the juice. While I was at the sink, wetting a rag, he got up and ran to the bathroom. Joey and Chris went after him and caught him just in time to see him throwing up in the toilet. I dropped the rag and ran back to the bathroom. He locked the door and we heard him throwing up.

"Lance, baby, let me in!" I said knocking on the door.

He opened it and I squeezed in there with him. I closed the door and rubbed his back while he threw up. When he was done, he flushed the toilet and I opened the door and told Joey to go get me the rag that I left in the sink. He brought it back and by the time that happened, Justin and JC were already up and wondering what was happening. Chris filled him in and I took care of Lance. I wiped his forehead off first, then wiped his mouth off.

"Do you feel like you're gonna throw up again?" I asked.

"N.. no, I don't think so." He said in a groan.

"You sure?"

"Yeah. I.. I'm done!"

"Ok, then just brush your teeth and meet me in the lounge."

"Ok."

I squeezed out of the bathroom and went back into the lounge where the guys were. I moved Josh and Chris up off part of the sofa and got a few pillows. When Lance came in I told him to sit on the couch with his feet up and sit up against the pillows. I went back into the bathroom, got the rag and went to the kitchen. I rinsed it out and wet it again with cold water. Before I went back, I grabbed the other half of the bagel that Lance didn't eat, scarfed it down real quick and went back to the lounge. I sat on the edge of the couch and put the rag on his forehead.

"Ok, now you just stay there until we get to the hotel!" I said.

"Yes doctor!" He said, cracking the only smile that I seen on his face since he woke up.

"Josh, call ahead to management and have them have a doctor waiting for us.

"Already done!" JC said.

"Good. Now all that's left to do is sit back and relax. Do you feel like you're gonna throw up again?"

"Nah, I think I got it all out of my system." Lance said.

"That's probably due to all the shit he had last night!" Justin said.

"I don't think so. No matter how much he ate, he wouldn't get a fever." Chris said.

"Well, we gotta wait to see what the doctor says." JC said.

"I'll be right back, I'm gonna get something to drink." I said.

"I'll come with you."

As we made our way through the bus, Josh said,

"I couldn't have handled it better myself!"

"Huh? Oh. well, it's nothing. It's just human nature! You would do the same for Melissa and Justin would do the same for Jay."

"Still, it's just nice to have somebody else who can take control of things when one of us is out of commission."

"Hey, I'm organized, what can I say?" I said, drinking some of the orange juice that I had poured.

Once we got to the hotel, we fought through the crowds that were trying to get passed security, as always, and got into the hotel. When we got our stuff settled, Josh and I went with Lance to see the doctor. When they were finally done with him, they said that it was probably just a stomach virus, and it was nothing to be worried about. He just needed to take it easy for the next couple of days. We all knew that that would be impossible considering the circumstances. At least next week, we would be in Orlando for a show. The guys were doing a Rosie special at Disney and we had a couple of shows in and around that area. We were getting at least one day off I think when we got back to Orlando, and I think that was the day that we got in. While they were doing the Rosie special, I had some interviews with the local radio stations and a couple of magazines. My schedule was pretty much like through the whole time we were on tour. I had interviews, which took me away from Lance and the rest of my friends, and photo shoots. Throughout the next few days, Lance had gotten worse then better. We thought he would be fine by the time we got back to Orlando and hoped that it wouldn't get to the point where he would have to miss a show.

"Just-In Time Music, this is Denise, may I help you?" the pleasant female voice answered.

"Hi Denise, is Mrs. Harless in today?"

"Who may I ask is calling?"

"Could you tell her that it's Ronald Lewis?"

"Of course, could you just hold for just one second?"

"Sure!" As he was put on hold, he heard some music, but before he could figure out who or what it was, the phone picked up.

"Lew is that you?" Lynn Harless asked as she picked up the phone.

"Hey Lynn, how are you?" Lew said, smiling as he heard the familiar voice.

"I'm fine, busy as always, but you?" she laughed, "We were beginning to think you'd dropped off the face of the Earth!"

"Nope, not yet at least," he laughed, "I was back in town and was wondering if the boys were here?"

"Well, not exactly," she laughed.

"Okay? Could you maybe be a bit more specific?" he said joining her in the laughter although not exactly sure why.

"Sorry, they aren't here at the moment, but they're due in some time late tonight or early tomorrow morning, if all goes as planned anyway."

"Oh, same old, same old, eh?"

"But of course!" she laughed again, "Why don't you stop by tomorrow evening or the day after?"

"Well I don't want to impose," he interrupted her, "I mean I'm sure they'd like to get some rest and...."

"Nonsense!" she stopped him, "They'd love to see you!"

"If you're sure...."

"Oh, please! You're almost like their big brother! Besides Paul's out of town and I'm so busy lately...."

"Oh, so you want a chaperone?" he laughed.

"Actually I was gonna say I'm sure they'd like to see at least some family! Besides, you were always their favorite," she said smiling.

"Oh, I'm sure I was! I remember several of those `get Lew' field trips!" he laughed.

"They weren't that bad" she laughed, "... were they?"

"Nah, course not ... well not when separated anyway," he said laughing once more. "Okay then, I'll see you some time tomorrow or the day after, it'll give me some extra time to get settled in I guess."

"So you're back for awhile then?"

"Yes, ma'am, I think this one's permanent ... well as permanent as I get anyway."

"That's great, you're going to tell me all about it when I see you then."

"Okay, great to talk to you again, and I'll see you soon!"

"You can count on it!"

"Bye Lynn!"

"Bye, bye, Lew."

As we neared Orlando around 1am, as tired as Justin was, he was really excited to be going home. I had been spending most of the time on the guy's bus, making sure that Lance was ok. I felt bad for ignoring my crew, but they told me to stay, they knew that I would just be worrying sick if I were on my bus and not with him. I was surprised at how they took it. I noticed some facial expressions that weren't too approving, but those who had them were, chastised by the rest. For the most part, Lance was just fine. I was just too worried to leave him alone. When we got into Orlando, we all went to our separate homes and agreed to meet up at Justin's the next day.

The next day, we all sat in the Harless' living room trying to decide what to do for the rest of the evening. Since we had gotten into town late the night before we'd slept most of the day away. For the most part, we felt like just relaxing and kicking back for the rest of the night, but were still considering what to do, if anything.

"You know I'm surprised that Lynn and Paul don't just kick us out," I said as Lynn walked through the room. "When we are here, we're like a bunch of freeloaders or something!" I laughed.

"Don't think the thought has never crossed my mind!" Lynn said sternly pointing her finger at me and Lance curled up on the loveseat, before she broke into a smile. "Lord, if we did that, then we'd never see you guys!" she said leaning over the back of the couch to kiss Justin on the forehead. "Sorry I have to leave to take care of business on your first night back honey."

"Oh, don't worry about it mom," he said smiling up at her, "I of all people should know how thing are with the business."

"Still, I hate it," she started, but was interrupted by her cell phone ringing. "Oh, what does he want now?" she moaned as she looked at the caller ID on the incoming call. "Jerry, I'm on my way in right now. Could this not have waited until I actually got there?" We all chuckled as she rolled her eyes dramatically. "Yes, I'm leaving right now. In fact, this would have been me opening the door and getting into the car, but I'm on the phone with you!" She listened for a few more minutes then said, "Jerry, I'm on my way...." She sighed deeply, and Justin gave her a sympathetic look. Rolling her eyes once more and shaking her head she hit the off button. "And that was me hanging up!"

"You go Lynn!" Chris yelled from where he was stretched out on the floor playing with Busta.

"Man that guy's an idiot," Justin said as he and the rest of us laughed. "Bye mom!"

"Bye honey, y'all be good now!" Lynn said with grin as she walked to the door.

As she opened the door she was surprised by, the young man standing there with his finger posed to ring the bell.

"Well now, that was timing!" he said and they both laughed.

"Hey kiddo!" she said as she smiled and hugged him. "I'm so happy to see you! Just not happy that I have to go into the office," she frowned.

"At this hour? Ouch!" he said with a grimace. "Sorry. Are the guys..." he asked pointing inside.

"Yes they're inside, go on in," she motioned toward the door as she headed for her car. "I'll see you later, Lew!"

Lew walked through the hall and into the living room and said,

"So this is what boy bands do when they aren't dodging screaming ten and twelve year old girls!"

We all jumped, startled by his sudden and unexpected presence. Once the newcomer's identity registered though, Justin and JC both yelled,

"Lew!"
