"It'll be fun!"

Trevor dropped his head. "You said the same thing last year and I ended up tending to the punchbowl while you scored with half the football team."

"It'll be different this year! We're in college!"

Marcus bent down. Trevor tried to look away.

"Just get dressed and come with me. If, after a few minutes, you're not feeling it, I'll take you home."

Trevor sighed. "You swear?"

In an exaggerated gesture, Marcus crossed the center of his chest. "Saiyan Swear, bro!"

Giving in, Trevor trudged toward their bathroom. "If I end up with punchbowl duty, it's not going to go well for you, this semester."

Half an hour later, Marcus led the way into an explosive party. A trio of girls in short, white togas sang karaoke. Several people played pool, a few of them taking off their clothes while the others chanted, "Bank shot!" A few people filed into the kitchen and Marcus pulled Trevor along with them. A dozen people were at the long food table. Several others were pulling drinks out of the refrigerator. Trevor lingered by the door.

"Not five minutes in and we've got Mean Girl karaoke, Strip-Pool, and enough food to feed a small army! See? I told you it would be fun!"

"Yeah," Trevor said, trying to sound enthused. "Fun. At least there's no punchbowl."

"Will you stop about the punchbowl? I'm going to grab some drinks!"

Marcus disappeared into a small group of people who knew who he was. More people filed into the room and they began a card game at a table near the glass doors. Out on the patio, students were dancing around a roaring fire pit.

"Thirsty?"

Startled, Trevor turned toward the source of the question. A slender male in a pale pink shirt held two unopened bottles. Trevor took one with a word of thanks. The other male opened his bottle and took a long drink. Trevor sipped his.

"Freshman?"

"It's that obvious, huh?"

"I've been to a lot of these. I can spot you guys."

"Professional freshman spotter? I've heard about you lot."

"I'm going to have to talk to our PR people. We're supposed to be anonymous."

Travis took another sip of his drink. "I promise, I won't tell anyone."

A few girls pushed by them, dividing the two. Travis held his drink up to keep its contents from spilling. The other male stepped back to allow a broader guy through.

"Want to find a quiet spot, one with less traffic?"

Looking over to see Marcus get carried outside, Travis relented and followed the pink shirt out of the kitchen and into the living room. More dancing, a few more groups of card-players, and a few people doing Pictionary on a dry-erase board filled the space. Near the hallway, pink shirt dropped onto the floor, leaning against the side of a sofa. Travis sat opposite him.

"That guy in the kitchen, is he your friend?"

"Since high school."

"He's cute."

"He's single," Travis said, smirking. "Seems like he's always single."

"You should go for it!"

"Go for what?"

"Come on! You know what I mean."

After a sip of his drink, Travis said, "We're just friends."

"The best relationships start as friendships."

Leaning against the wall, Travis shook off the suggestion. He sipped at his drink. Another round of Mean Girl karaoke started and the trio of toga-wearing singers raised their tempo and volume. Their songs were love-based, in keeping with the theme of the party. The card game ended and the players decided to join the others in the kitchen. A new group of people filed into the room, led by a beefy guy in a pair of white boxers with pink hearts on them. The guy got up onto the coffee table and began gyrating his hips to the Mean Girls' song. The groupies applauded and cheered. The guy turned around, nodding to pink shirt once.

"You know him?" Travis asked.

"Older brother."

"Related kind of brother or fraternity?"

"We have the same mom."

"You don't sound happy about it."

Pink shirt smiled. "It's not so bad, at times. It's only a problem in times like this, when we go to these parties. Things tend to get out of hand pretty fast."

Draining the last of his drink, Travis drew his knees to his chest. He put the bottle to one side, out of the way. Pink shirt asked if he'd like another. "I probably shouldn't have had this one. The more I drink, the easier I get."

"I should definitely get you another!"

Laughing, Travis shook his head. "What about you? Are you single?"

"Around this time of the year, I'm always single. Doesn't work out too well, for me, if I'm involved with somebody. It clouds my head, puts my aim off."

The music spiked, drowning out the last few words. Travis leaned in for clarification. Before any could be given, a line of girls came from the bathroom at the end of the hall. The guy in the pink shirt stood, then helped get Travis to his feet. On the coffee table, the beefy boxer boy accepted a few dollars being tucked into his waistband.

"I think my brother is about to do something tacky."

New people came in and started dancing. The beefy male on the coffee table lost his boxers. Under them, he wore a sparkling red thong which barely managed to keep his bulging crotch covered. Near the hallway, Pink Shirt leaned in to Travis.

"Want to find a dark corner and make out?"

Travis smirked. "You're forward, I'll give you that."

"You didn't answer my question."

Glancing over, Travis saw Marcus dancing with a girl and guy. Others danced around him, all of them caught up in the music. When he looked back at the slender male, Travis felt a gentle sense of imbalance. It was followed by a warm feeling in his lower stomach and a tingling in his fingers.

"Did you...put something in my drink?"

"You opened the bottle, yourself. How could I have slipped anything into your drink?"

"Must've been stronger than I thought." Travis shook his head. "Are you cold? That shirt is paper thin and...well...your nipples are hard as rocks."

"If I said I was, would you warm me up?"

"Man, your pick-up lines are worse than mine."

The slender male stood up and offered his hand to Travis. On the coffee table, the beefy male took notice. Music swelled. More people filed into the living room to begin dancing. The Mean Girl trio took to the center of the room, drawing almost everyone else's attention. Travis took the offered hand and let himself be pulled to his feet. Pink Shirt pulled him close and Travis let himself be pulled. His head buzzed and his ears felt funny.

"I still think you put something in my drink."

Pink Shirt eased in and laid a kiss to his neck. This led to a second and third.

Travis let his head fall to one side, let the kisses continue to his shirt collar and a little beyond. Warm lips traveled back up, to his ear, then to his cheek. Pink Shirt let him make the decision on whether or not to kiss him full on the mouth.

"This doesn't mean anything," Travis said before committing to the kiss.

Pink Shirt tasted like sweet cherries and tart lemonade. Travis eased his tongue into the guy's mouth and the buzzing in his head got loud enough to drown out the music. Warm hands slipped under his shirt and up his back. He pressed deeper into the kiss. His crotch swelled. His head spun. Pink Shirt lifted his shirt and Travis let him take it off. Cool air hit him, jarring him a bit. Still, he kept his lips engaged with Pink Shirt, lost in the sensation.

"Man," Travis sighed, leaning into Pink Shirt. "You smell good, too."

"I know. Breathe deep so it stays with you."

"Hey, Travis? You okay?"

Marcus' voice broke him out of his haze. Travis grinned. "I'm good. Are you okay?"

"I've still got my shirt on so...I think I'm good."

Travis' grin spread wider. "We can fix that."

Surprised, Marcus let his roommate remove his shirt. Their bare chests touched, then pressed together. Marcus held Travis' face, searching his blue eyes for any sign of hesitation. Seeing none, he allowed Travis to kiss him, to tug at his nipples, to fondle his growing hardon.

"Want to find a dark corner and make out?"

Marcus chuckled as he nuzzled his friend's face. "Are you feeling all right?"

"Fine. Better than fine. Listen...I have a confession to make."

Travis' expression went from goofy to serious. His roaming hands settled on Marcus' hips. His bulging crotch ground into his friend, something he couldn't help. For his part, Marcus stayed quiet, staring into those blue eyes.

"I didn't want to come, tonight, because...well...I've found my Valentine. Years ago. When we were kids. I fell in love with you way back when...and I've been in love with you ever since. I've been...scared."

"Of what? Me rejecting you? Sending you away? Making you move out?"

"All the above. I mean, it could happen, right? If you don't feel the same about me."

Leaning in, Marcus kissed Travis. It started light, then deepened. Expert hands roamed Travis' back, reaching his hips. They both began moving with the music. Marcus ground his crotch against the hard bulge in his friend's pants. Their kissing continued until the end of the song. People around them began applauding, making Travis self-conscious.

"Can we...get out of here?"

Marcus picked up their shirts. "You don't have to ask me twice."

"Let me say goodbye to...."

Travis scanned the living room for Pink Shirt, who was nowhere to be seen. Looking over to where they sat on the floor, he saw his empty drink bottle but not a second one.

"Where did he go?"

"Where did who go?"

"The guy I was talking to, the one who took my shirt off. He was right here!"

"You took your own shirt off. I watched you. It's what made me come over to see if you were all right."

Travis laughed. "He was right here, Marcus, I'm telling you!"

"Let's get you home. I think you may have had too much to drink."

"I didn't have anything to drink!" He paused. "Well, just the one drink."

Marcus led Travis to the door, then out into the cool night air. As they walked down the sidewalk, neither of them saw the big, beefy male in his glittery red thong or Pink Shirt. At the street, Marcus paused just long enough to help Travis put his shirt back on and to pull his own on.

"After all this time, Cue," Red Thong said with a smile. "I was beginning to think it would never happen."

Pink Shirt gave him a playful elbow to the stomach. "True love takes time, Eros."

"And a little bit of pink persuasion."

Red Thong threw an arm around Pink Shirt. Unseen by anyone else, the two began walking. As they did, each one ascended the night sky. At one point, they became two brilliant points of reddish-gold light, then blinked out.
