Chapter 4

Twenty minutes later, Brian inserts his key into the lock of Nick's apartment door, and lets himself in. He quietly walks toward the bedroom, and enters the room to find Nick sleeping soundly on the bed. Brian looks at Nick for a moment, before going over to the bed, removes a blindfold from his pocket and carefully puts it over Nick's eyes. He then crosses the room to Nick's dresser and from the sock drawer, removes a pair of socks, and the pair of handcuffs that Nick keeps there. Brian has never understood why Nick even has them, but he does.

Brian looks back toward the bed and sees that Nick is still sleeping soundly, and Brian quietly walks back over, and proceeds to handcuff Nick's hands to the headboard. Nick starts to wake up to the feeling of the cold metal that is now encircling both of his wrists. Before Nick can say anything however, Brian shoves the pair of socks into Nick's mouth, effectively gagging him. Brian pulls Nick's underwear off, and throws them to the floor. Brian then strips off all of his clothing, and spreads Nick's legs wide and kneels between them. Brian then leans over Nick and opens the bedside table's drawer. Being Nick's best friend, Brian knows that Nick keeps lubricant here, for his masturbation sessions. Brian lubes up his cock and then Nick's hole, as Nick lets out muffled screams through the socks that are shoved into his mouth.

Brian then places the head of his cock against the opening off Nick's hole and forcefully pushes forward, ramming his tool into Nick's hole as fast as he can. Brian isn't concerned with being gentle here, he just wants to get off, and right now. Brian continues a very fast and forceful pace, as Nick's muffled screams continue through the gag. Nick kicks his legs around, but touches nothing but air, since Brian is holding him in such a way that it would be impossible for Nick to kick Brian.

Nick frantically moves his head around on the pillow, and finally what he hoped would happen, happens. The blindfold comes off, and he is now able to look at his assailant. Nick's eyes practically bulge out of his head when he sees Brian. He had assumed that someone broke into his apartment and that was who was raping him now. He never thought in a million years that'd be Brian, his best friend.

"Surprised to see me, aren't ya Nick?" replies Brian, with a groan as he continues to ram himself in and out of Nick, not caring about how fast or how rough he's being.

Tears quickly form in Nick's eyes as he nods in response to Brian. Brian just looks at him with disgust and replies, "Oh stop crying you big baby! Be a man for once in your miserable life!"

Hearing these words coming from Brian, added to what Brian is already doing to him, only makes Nick's tears come more rapidly and soon his sight is clouded up. Suddenly, Brian slows down his pace, and starts being much more gentle, as he reaches down and wipes the tears away from Nick's eyes. Nick is once again surprised at the sight before him, because now instead of Brian, he sees Kevin!

"It's okay Nick, I'm here. Stop crying Nick, everything will be okay," replies Kevin in a very calm and soothing voice, before his voice turns hostile, "Just as soon as you realize that this is a one time thing. I'm only going to make love to you this once, Nick, cause I don't love you! I love Kristin, and I'll never love you the way you want me to. And just so you know Nick, I've lost all respect for you, you stupid faggot!"

----

"Hello Kristin," replies Leighanne as she walks into the house, as Kristin closes the front door.

"Hello Leighanne," replies Kristin, "What brings you by?"

"Well, I went out shopping for awhile and when I got back Brian was gone," replies Leighanne, "So I wondered if maybe he was here?"

"He was here," replies Kristin, "But he left about half-an-hour ago. As did Kevin."

"Ah, so it's just us girls, huh?" replies Leighanne as she sits down on the living room sofa.

"Yeah," replies Kristin, "So, how's the wedding plans coming? Are you excited? It's only a couple days away now."

"Yeah, I've very excited," replies Leighanne, "But I'm not so sure about Brian."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, the closer we come to the wedding, the more distant he gets. I'm beginning to get a little worried, because this doesn't seem like it's just cold-feet or something."

"Well, Leigh, I highly doubt that Brian is going to call of your wedding," replies Kristin, "He loves you, I know that he does. Brian calling off his wedding to you is just as unlikely as Kevin filing for divorce."

"Yeah, that is unlikely. So how's married life?"

"It's okay I guess."

"Just okay?"

"Well, Kevin and I haven't made love since our wedding night. It was wonderful and all, but it was also three months ago. I would like to do it again."

"Well, I'm sure that Kevin has just had a lot on his mind lately, what with the tour with *NSYNC coming up soon," replies Leighanne, "You know he's the business member of the Backstreet Boys."

"Yeah, I know he is. That's probably it. I just can't help but wonder sometimes. Like the other day I found him in his office upstairs. I sat down on his lap, wrapped my arms around his neck, and suggested that we go make love."

"What was his response."

"He said that he was very busy with some paperwork for the tour. When I persisted, his voice turned cold, telling me that he wasn't in the mood, and he pushed me off of his lap."

"Yikes, well, I'm sure you just caught him in a bad mood, or something," replies Leighanne.

"I hope that that's all that was wrong."

Right at that moment, the front door opens, and in walks Kevin, holding a bouquet of flowers in his hand. He walks over to Kristin, and replies, "Kris, these are for you."

"Oh, Kevy, they're beautiful, thank you!" replies Kristin as she jumps up and hugs Kevin, as Kevin looks over toward Leighanne and replies, "Leighanne I need to talk to my wife in private, could you please excuse us?"

"Of course, Kevin, I have to get back home anyway," replies Leighanne as she picks up her purse from the coffee table and heads for the front door, "Bye Kristin, bye Kevin. Have fun."

As soon as the front door closes behind Leighanne, Kevin ends the hug with Kristin, and replies, "Kristin we need to talk. You might want to sit down for this."

"The way you say that it sounds so serious."

"This is serious Kristin, very serious. I really think that you should sit down."

"Whatever you have to tell me, Kevy, just tell me. I'll still love you, because you're my husband and that's forever."

"No it isn't."

"What?"

"Kristin, I know this is going to come as a shock, and I want you to know that this is not your fault. Not one bit of this is your fault. It's all my fault."

"What are you talking about, Kevin?"

"I did something that I shouldn't have done, and now the time has come to right that wrong. The truth of the matter is Kristin, I don't love you. At least not the way a husband loves his wife. The truth of the matter is I only married you because I wanted to continue denying the fact that I'm gay and to hide it from everyone else. But I can't go on like this Kristin, I'm miserable. That's why I have filed for divorce."

"WHAT?! You're gay?! You're divorcing me?! Okay come on Kevin, jokes over, you can stop playing around now. Please tell me that your kidding, and I'll forget you even said any of this."

"I'm sorry Kristin, I'm not kidding," replies Kevin, "I've filed for divorce, and I want you out of my house by tonight."

That said Kevin sprints out of the living room and up the stairs. Moments later, the door to Kevin's office closes and locks. Kristin just stands in the living room totally shocked. Suddenly she screams, "NO!!!" as she sinks down to the floor, sobbing her eyes out.

----

Nick's eyes suddenly fly open and he screams, as he wakes up covered in a cold sweat. Nick looks around the room and realizes that he's alone. His underwear are still on him, he's not handcuffed to the bed, and there's no sign of anyone else in the apartment.

"Oh my God, it was just a dream," replies Nick softly, "Just a horrible nightmare."

"Nick? Nick, it's me Brian," replies Brian as he knocks on Nick's closed bedroom door.

"Just a second Brian, I need to get dressed," replies Nick, "I fell asleep and didn't get the chance to get dressed."

"What's the big deal Nick, I've seen you naked before."

"Well, I'd just rather you didn't right now," replies Nick as he pulls on a pair of black jeans, followed by a pair of white socks and black t-shirt.

Once Nick is dressed, he opens the door, and replies, "Okay, Brian, I'm dressed. Now what did you want to talk to me about?"

"Could we sit down?" asks Brian as he tries to get past Nick so as to sit down on the bed.

"Umm, let's go into the living room," replies Nick, as he motions for Brian to head for the living room.

Brian doesn't quite understand why Nick seems so edgy right now, but decides not to bring it up and just comply with Nick's wishes. Brian follows Nick into the living room and sits down on the sofa with him.

"Okay, we're sitting Brian," replies Nick, "What did you want to talk about?"

"Okay, well, you know how I had asked you to be my best man at my wedding?"

"Yeah and I accepted."

"Okay, well, I'm relieving you of your duties as best man."

"Why?"

"It's nothing you've done Nick, I want you to know that. You've been a very good friend, and an even better best man. But, I don't need a best man anymore."

"What are you talking about Brian?"

"Well, Nick, this may come as a shock, but I'm calling off my wedding. I just can't marry Leighanne knowing that I'm keeping something very big from her, not to mention the fact that I'm in love with someone else and those feelings run deeper then for Leighanne."

"What are you keeping from her?"

"Well, I suppose I should be able to tell you, Nick. I mean you've confided in me so much over the years," replies Brian, "Okay, well, the truth is I'm bisexual. Leighanne doesn't know that however."

"You're bisexual? You're kidding right?"

"No, Nick, I'm not kidding. I'm bisexual, and the other person that I'm in love with is another man."

"Brian, um, I hope you're not saying..."

"That I'm in love with you, Nick? No, I'm not saying that. I mean I suppose I do have feelings for you, I always will, but I don't think they're really romantic feelings. I think it's more the type of love that brothers share."

"Ok, that's good. So, who's the guy?"

"Well, it's Lance."

"Lance?"

"Yeah, James Lance Bass."

"You mean *NSYNC's Lance?"

"Yeah, Nick, *NSYNC's Lance. I'm in love with him."

"Brian, have you ever even met him? Well, I take that back, of course you've met him, we're all under the same record label. But do you know him? I mean really know him? Or are you just saying that you're in love with him because of his looks and the image that is projected to the public?"

"Well, I suppose those are all legitimate concerns Nick. It's all something that I'm going to have to deal with once we start the tour with *NSYNC. And I know, we might start the tour and I'll realize that Lance isn't even gay. But I still don't think that I can go ahead and marry Leighanne in good conscience and have feelings for somebody else. Even if nothing ever does come of it."

"What would you do if you found out that Lance was gay, but already dating a guy that he loved very much?"

"Well, Nick, then I'd be happy for him. I'd find some way to get over my feelings for him and move on. It might hurt a little to know that he's gay but with someone else, but I'm sure I'd be able to move on somehow. Though I realize that moving on with Leighanne will probably be out of the question, because she'll likely not want anything to do with me after I call off the wedding."

"So I gather you haven't told Leighanne yet?"

"No, I haven't. That's kinda why I'm here Nick. I was wondering if maybe you could come with me for moral support?"

"Brian, you know I'm here for you, but I don't think that that's such a good idea. I think you need to be alone with Leighanne and tell her how you feel. I really don't think that having an audience to her fiance calling off the wedding only days before the wedding is going to make Leighanne very comfortable. Plus, I assume your going to tell her the reason that you're calling off the wedding, at which point she may very well jump to the wrong conclusion like I did, and think that I'm the other man in your life. No, Brian, I'm sorry this is something you're going to have to do on your own."

"Okay Nick, I'll do it. Thanks for listening though. It's so good to have you in my life Nick, you're the best friend I've ever had," replies Brian as he pulls Nick into a hug, before getting up and leaving the apartment. For some reason after Brian is gone, Nick shivers after having been hugged by Brian.

----

Kristin Willets Richardson lies on the floor of the living room, sobbing. The tears are literally pouring out of her eyes like an endless waterfall. Finally she gathers up enough strength to stand up, and she carefully makes her way up the staircase. She goes over to Kevin's office door and starts banging on the door, pleading for him to open the door.

"Please Kevin! Open the door! Please I love you! Don't do this to me, Kevin, you mean everything to me. You're my whole world! Please Kevin, please, I love you. I love you!"

Kristin's sobs and wails of agony only get worse as she slides down to the floor and continues to cry like there was no tomorrow, realizing that to continue banging on Kevin's door like this is a futile activity, considering that with the door closed, the room is completely soundproof.

Finally after almost an hour of crying, Kristin runs out of tears. Knowing that Kevin's mind must be made up, she struggles to get back on her feet, and walks dejectedly into the master bedroom. Kristin goes into the closet and gets out her suitcases, as she starts packing up all her belongings. Then her eyes fall on a picture on the bedside table. A picture of her and Kevin on their wedding day. Kristin picks up the picture and holds it close to her, as she finds new tears to cry.

"Oh God, why? Why is this happening to me? I found the man of my dreams, and we got married. I love him with all my heart and all my soul! And now three months after we get married, he's filing for divorce. Oh god, why?! WHY?!"
