"Decisions"
As we lay on my bed, just staring at each other, I remembered that there was still the problem of Michelle and the lake. "Robert...
"Huh?" he said in a long southern drawl. "I just love to hear you talk Brent. You know, when we first met, you didn't have an accent at all. Now you sound like you were born and bred in Texas."
"And you don't?" I smiled. "I think yours is worse than mine. If I didn't know better, I'd say you came from a cabin back there in the woods." I reached over and moved a stray lock of hair away from his face. "Seriously though, what about Michelle and the lake?"
"Oh, I've got that all figured out now. When I see her tomorrow morning, I'm just going to tell her that I'm in love with you and that you're the real jealous type." He said with a satisfied expression.
"YOUR GONNA WHAT?" I yelled, as I bolted up to a sitting position and drilled my eyes into his to see if he was serious.
"You heard me. I suggest that you tell Debbie at the same time. That way she can look for someone else to pursue."
Has he lost his everlasting last brain cell? I thought.
"Aren't you proud of me? I figured it all out myself." He returned my stare, and then I noticed the corner of his right eye twitch just...a little. He then burst out laughing and started point towards my face. "Gawd, you had the biggest pie eyes I've ever seen." He was thrashing around so much with laughter that he then managed to roll off my bed and hit the floor.
I used my hand and smoothed the wild hairs on my head back, "I thought you'd lost your mind for a minute there. Can't you ever be serious?
"NO." he stated "I think your serious enough for the both of us. Remember this morning when you came down and I was in the kitchen with your mother?"
"Yeah."
"Do you want to know what we were talking about?" He asked and sat up, resting his chin on the corner of the bed.
"Ok, so what were you two talking about?"
"You." And he pointed an accusing finger at me. "Your mom thinks you are way too serious for a 14 year old. She asked me if I'd try to get you to open up this year, since your starting high school and all, and have fun. I think she's really worried about it."
"I don't know what you two are talking about. I play football; I hang out with YOU all the time. I go to the movies, the lake; I ride my horse and all the other thousand things that need to be done around this house. If I opened up any more, I'd turn inside out." I sighed. "My mother is the one that needs to open up. She spends so much time dealing with other people's problems; she never has time to relax. I'm 14 and I can't remember her EVER just staying home and spending the day doing nothing. Then there's my father. I think he leaves the house at 5 AM every day, including Saturday, to go to work. He's in the fricking Army Robert. There's no war or threat of immanent danger here in Texas. Why Saturday's?" I continued to ramble on, "Then he doesn't come home until after 6 PM. Does he kick off his shoes and relax? No he doesn't. He changes into his jeans and a t-shirt and goes out there," and I point in a sweeping circle around the room, "to take care of all of that. Feeds the livestock; waters and feeds the dogs, the cats, the rabbits. They're killing themselves and for what?" I looked at Robert and he has this big Cheshire cat smile across his face. What?" I demanded.
"Wow Brent, that's real 'serious' stuff there. So tell me, is this what you think about all the time?" and he cocked his head to the side and looked up at me expectantly, and grinned.
I looked at him and thought about all I just said. "Alright, you guys got me. I guess I do worry too much about my parents and everything else for that matter. But someone has too or nothing would ever change around here." I stated proudly and got up from the bed to make a toilet run.
"Where you going?" Robert asked.
"To the toilet."
"Can I hold it for you?" He offered and stuck out his tongue, panting like a dog.
"Your crazy AND a horn dog. I think I can manage." Before I made it to the bathroom door, I turned around and said to Robert, "You better be thinking about Michelle and what you're going to tell her. You were right about one thing. I do need to tell Debbie that I'm not in the market for a girlfriend."
After finishing in the restroom, I came back to find Robert at my computer desk and logged onto the Internet. I walked over and looked over his shoulder to see what he was looking at. "Who you chatting with?" I asked. I could tell he was chatting because ICQ was open to the chat screen and Robert was busy typing.
"Michelle. I added her Icq number to your 'friends list' so I could talk to her. I tried calling, but her line was busy, so I figured she must be on-line and I was right."
"I'm going downstairs to the kitchen, do you want anything?" Oh great. Now Michelle is going to know every time I go on-line and before I know it, Debbie is going to have my Icq number. I kept the thought to myself. Robert was trying to work out the 'Michelle' problem, so there was no need to make an issue of that.
"Sure, bring me a coke and some chips if you got some." He continued typing his message to Michelle. "Hey! Come back over here!"
I had almost made it to the bedroom door and turned around when he called back to me.
"Aren't you forgetting something?" he asked, and used his index finger to tap his lips. "I want a kiss, no matter what, every time you leave me. I let it slide when you went to the toilet, but that's the only time I'm going too."
I walked back over to Robert, leaned down and gave him a kiss. He reached up and took my head in his hands and returned the kiss while caressing the back of my head. God I love him. As we broke the embrace, he said, "I love you."
"I love you too!" I smiled and turned to go downstairs. When I got to the kitchen, I found that my father was home and fixing a sandwich.
"So how was school today Brent?" He asked when he saw me come in. "Did you go see the coach about football?" My father was really into my athletics. He went to every game I had in middle school and I guess he was really looking forward to my high school games.
I beamed at him and said, "I sure did. Your looking at the second string quarterback for the Ellison Eagles!" and I got into a passing pose to display my talents to him.
"Second string quarterback? I didn't know they had a position like that on JV. I guess there's a lot more kids on the team because of the size of the school. Well, congratulations Brent. When's your first game?" he asked and smiled at my passing stance.
"No Sir, you misunderstood. I'm not the second string quarterback for JV, I made the varsity team!"
He blinked and looked at me to see if I was joking. "You made VARSITY? The coach knows you're a freshman right?"
"Yes Sir!" I was beaming like a spotlight.
My father came over to me and grabbed me in a bear hug, "That's fantastic Brent! Boy are the guys at work going to be surprised when I tell them that my 14 year old son is playing varsity in school!" Then realizing that he was hugging me, he abruptly let go, almost causing me to lose my balance. He cleared his throat and walked around the kitchen island. "Um...you know your going to have to work twice as hard because your playing against guys that are bigger and older than you. You make sure you watch yourself." He finished up making his sandwich and appeared to be trying to recover from having shown some unmanly emotion by hugging me.
"I know and I will. Robert is the one to thank for all of it though. He kept the coach informed of my progress at Manor. When I met the coach today, he already had a good idea of how well I play and slipped me right into varsity." My father is way to macho and a mans-man. Any overt display of affection caused him to stress out. I was used to this.
I looked at him and saw he was staring at me. What? Do I have something on my face? I moved my hand up and brushed my cheek. "Isn't that Robert's car I saw outside?" he asked.
"Yes Sir. He brought me home and is up in my room. We have some school stuff to go over and he's probably going to stay the night." I said.
"Why are you running around the house in just a t-shirt and your briefs?" he asked and raised an eyebrow.
I looked down, then up and blushed. "Oops, sorry sir. When I got home I water and feed Sierra and got all sweaty. So I took a shower and just threw on a t-shirt and briefs. I was just coming down to grab a couple of drinks and chips for Robert and I, I didn't think about getting dressed."
"Well, I suggest, when you get back upstairs, you finish getting dressed. Besides, it's 8 PM and your mother will be home soon." With that said he walked out of the kitchen and I almost shit my BRIEFS. Oh God, it's 8 PM and he knows I've been home since at least 5 PM. I never run around the house in just briefs. I sleep in the buff, but that's in my room and he never goes in there. Now he sees me in just my underwear and Robert's up in my room.
I grabbed two drinks and a bag of chips, and then sprinted to the stairs and up to my room. Then I realized that my bedroom door had been open the whole time Robert and I were in there and I felt like I was going to puke. I ran into the room and shut the door. "Fuck!" I harshly whispered. "Robert! My father is home. I just ran into him in the kitchen and he's already changed out of his uniform and it looks like he's been home more than an hour! Look at me! I'm almost naked and he ASKED me about it!" I was freaking out.
"Calm down Brent. This house is so fucking big; you could be lost for a week in here before anyone found you. He didn't say anything about us, or act strange did he?" Robert asked.
"No, no he just mentioned about how I was dressed. I told him I made the varsity football team and we talked mostly about that. Oh God, we could have gotten caught!" I dropped the drinks and chips on my bed, fished out some shorts from my chest of drawers and jerked them on.
"Then everything's fine Brent! You scared the shit out of me running in here like that." Robert got up from the computer desk and walked over to me. He reached for me and started to give me a hug.
"Stop that! Are you crazy? My FATHER'S downstairs!" I shrugged away from him and glared. Oh great, now I've hurt Robert's feeling. When I looked at him, he looked like he was going to cry. His arms were still out like he was hugging me, but the look on his face spoke volumes. I went over to him and ducked up and into his arms again. "I'm sorry man. I'm just freaking out here." We both increased the strength of the hug. Robert cleared his throat.
"I understand." He said. "But everything is cool Brent. He has no idea about what happened today. Just stop acting so spastic or he will start to suspect something's up."
"Your right. I was so scared. If he'd found out, he'd have killed us both!" I relaxed and Robert let go and went back over to the computer.
"I got everything straightened out with Michelle. I told her that it wouldn't be a good idea for just her and I to go too the lake alone and that she'd just have to accept that I wasn't ready to have a sexual relationship with anyone at this time in my life."
"Oh your not huh? So what was all of that panting and moaning that was going on in my bed a couple of hours ago?" I smiled, "And if I remember rightly, and I'm sure I do, but of course I could be mistaken, but then again, it was ONLY a couple of hours ago, so I'm pretty sure I remember it correctly. There was this guy who was laying on top of me and it seems he had a very hard dick and was pumping his hips up and down on my VERY hard dick while he was telling me he wanted to make love to me." I was enjoying this because Robert was turning as red as an apple. Finally I get to pay him back some. "Now, if I'm not mistaken, and once again, I'm quite certain that I'm not, that guy was YOU!" and I pointed my finger at him.
Robert was blushing furiously now and kept looking away from my smiling gaze. "Ok, so I'm not ready for a sexual relationship with HER at this time in my life."
"So what'd she say?" I asked
"She said she understood and thought it was 'sweet' of me to want to protect her like this. Ha! If she only knew the real reason,"
"Which, of course she doesn't," I interjected and rose an eyebrow in Robert's direction.
"Which of course she doesn't," he confirmed.
"Well, are you still planning a party at the lake this weekend? Or are you going to just chuck the whole idea?" I wasn't sure I wanted to go to the lake, even if other people were going to be there. I'm sure Robert and I would more than likely share a tent and the chances of our being discovered would make it a tense time.
"WE. It's WE. Not I or you, but WE. We're a couple now and I want you involved in every decision or plan I make forever! Besides, you're much better at planning than I am. Must be all those plays you have to remember and execute for football. But, since you weren't here at the time, " he slyly smiled, "I told Michelle that I still wanted to have a party and she thinks it's a good idea. What do you think?"
Oh well, I guess we'll just have to figure something out when we get to it. "Sounds like a plan to me. Do you think Steve will go?" I asked. Oh shit, Steve. I wonder if I should tell Robert about Steve and I jerking off together at school. I looked at Robert and thought that I better keep that to myself. He'd probably feel hurt since I wouldn't let him make love to me and I AM in love with him, not Steve.
"I have to invite him, Brent. But don't worry, I'll run interference for you. He knows I can kick the shit out of him, so he'll act civil or I'll drown him."
"Thanks. He's alright, I guess, when your one on one with him, but when he's got an audience, he cops that fucking attitude and makes me want to kick the shit out of him myself. So, are you going to spend the night still or are you going home?" I asked.
"I think I should go home. Being this close to you now and knowing that we love each other is too much for me to just sleep in the same bed without attacking you." He said coming over and taking me into another hug.
I hugged him back and kissed him, "Your probably right. Looks like I'll just have to have one of those dreams again. Wonder whose name I should call out this time." I said and pretended to think about it. "Ah...I've got it! Debbie! That's who I'll use!" and I busted out laughing as Robert jabbed me in the side and called me a tease.
"I better go then." He increased the pressure of the hug and we locked in a deep kiss, as our tongues swirled around each other's. "I'll pick you up tomorrow cutey. Try to be on time ok? The only one you need to impress is me now, and I'd be impressed even if you looked like a mud dog." He said as he patted my head like I was man's best friend.
"You forget. I have Debbie to impress too. There's something about those hips of hers that makes me hot!" I teased.
Robert grabbed his crotch and said, "She can't compete. I've got all you need right here." And he worked it up and down. "I'll show you tomorrow what you've only been able to dream about. Hips? HA! You'll have only one thing on your mind after me, and that's when will you be able to get a hold of this again!" And completed his manual demonstration.
"We'll see," I said. "Just remember, I'll be using this too," and I grabbed my crotch, "We'll see who will be chasing who for more afterwards!" and I laughed at the look on Robert's face.
"My ass hurts already!" he said and over dramatized it by rubbing his backside in mock pain. "Bye cutey. Sleep good and I'll see you tomorrow morning at 7 AM sharp." We kissed goodbye in my room since my father was downstairs. Wouldn't do for him to see us kissing goodbye at the front door. No matter how good of friends we are.
Robert picked up his duffel, once again, and I walked with him downstairs to the front door. My mother was just coming in the door when we both arrived there.
"Well. Hello fellows. Where are you off to Robert?" she asked as her eyes caught sight of his duffel.
"Home, Dr. Stewart. Brent and I finished earlier than I thought we would, so I decided it was still early enough to make it home." He called her doctor whenever he saw my mother wearing her white lab coat. I always thought this was funny how she was a doctor, to him, when dressed like this, but just my mother when she wore everyday clothes.
"Oh, I see. Well you drive careful. I'll have to forget I'm a doctor and hurt you REAL bad if I get called out to repair any injuries from an auto accident." She reached up and mused his hair. She then leaned forward and gave me a kiss. "Hello sweetheart! I see your still in one piece. I guess your first day was as boring as I told you it would be." then she walked into the foyer, put her briefcase and shoulder bag on the butler and headed down the hall.
I looked at Robert and said, "Boring? Um...I think boring is the last thing in the world I'd call today. It was more like, traumatic!"
"No arguments from me", and he whispered, "sweetheart", "But I'm looking forward to a even more event filled tomorrow." And winked at me. "Goodnight. I love you."
"I love you more. Goodnight babe." And I watched as he walked to the roundabout, got in his car and drove down the road to the gate. The last I saw of him was the harsh glow of red as he pressed on the brakes to wait for the gate to open, then out of sight on the winding roads leaving our property. "I love you Robert. So much so that I'm scared of it." I closed the door and headed up to my room. I really did have some homework to do. I also had some major thinking to do as well.
