From Chapter 8:
"I'm sorry," said the surgeon, as he sewed up Ronny's cheeks, "but there will be scars on both sides of your face."
"Those aren't' scars, Sir." Said Ronny, seriously, then "Ouch!" as the doctor tied off one of the stitches.
"Those are badges of his courage and valor!" I said proudly.
All that could be done for me was to wrap my torso tightly, to ease the pain of breathing with several cracked ribs.
Chapter 9
That night, I begged Gary to finish what we couldn't before. He told me that the itching never broke out in a noticeable sore, but that it was all gone now. He made gentle, easy love to me, and for the first time I learned how I was supposed to be loved.
When he was finished -- he then finished me off with his mouth, and both of us drained of energy, we gave ourselves permission to relax and let out the pent up emotions. We cried together for at least 45 minutes, Gary cradling me in his arms.
Neither of us could sleep, even after all that, but we held each other for the next hour, when there was a very faint tap on the door -- the kind that wouldn't have been heard if we had been asleep.
"Come in." I said. I had an idea who it was.
"Can I lay on your bed, Dad?" Said my exhausted and drugged (pain killer) son.
Gary opened the covers and Ron slid in to me like he has done since he was a toddler. I was careful not to touch his face.
"Where is Mick?" I asked.
"He's in our room. The nurse is with him."
"Oh good." I replied. "So they brought in a cot for her?"
"No -- she's sleeping -- or not -- about the same as we are now."
We cuddled for less than ten minutes, I being sandwiched between two younger men I would have died for, before we were all sound asleep.
I woke up the next morning, hoping that I had had a nightmare. But the sweet boy spooned in front of me -- and the hard man behind me -- gave a lie to that wish.
After we arrived back home, for at least a month, I dreamed we were back in Persia, and that we could not get out. I can't even explain how many times I relived the terrorizing episode, being captured. And each morning upon waking, I found myself in my own room, once again wishing that it was no more than a nightmare. It was real. We were deceived, beaten, and a few of us scarred for life -- if not physically -- at least emotionally.
The thing that made it worthwhile was that we saved 25 young men from probable death. Mo assured me that there were others doing what we were doing, and also helping lesbians escape -- as well as many others -- women mostly-- who were trapped by an insane, out of control, supposedly religious government.
Some weeks after we arrived home, it was a Saturday morning, and Gary was staying the weekend with us. We got a call and then a visit from Mo. He had stayed behind after we came home for his own personal reasons -- mostly, as it turned out -- to clean up after the mess that Ammad and Kohfi got us in to. I was wondering if he was there to ask us to join him again -- and quite frankly -- was very torn about what I might tell him. Gary said definitely not! Ronny could have gone either way. He and Mick had become nearly inseparable since returning.
After the greetings -- and they were cordial -- even the dogs seemed to welcome the return of Stan -- Mo's Afghan hound. Our dogs excitedly ran outside and they made a happy spectacle of sniffing each others - - everything.
I suspect Mo felt our apprehension, and slight holding back, as he began his next sales job.
"My noble friends, first of all, I want to apologize for what happened while carrying out our mission. It went very wrong -- and it was because I was apparently not thorough enough in my screening." He looked at Ronny's face and I was sure he was going to start crying. Indeed, that may have accounted for his long pause. He took a deep breath and continued.
"Ronny, you will forever be a reminder to me of my complacency and error in trusting someone -- because of my own narrow prejudices. Ammad and Kohfi paid for their weakness with their lives. And maybe weakness is understating their calumny. Maybe a better word would be treachery. I want to believe that they were unduly influenced by flattery and bribes. But I saw -- as I am certain you did, that they did not seem much bothered by the proceedings that took place before their eyes.
"They watched our friend Mick get his throat cut, and the beating and abuse of both of you. I deeply regret that I had to wait as long as I did. If we had moved earlier, we could have still been overwhelmed. It was a calculated risk to shoot Ammad and Kohfi when I did. I had hoped that the others would run to their aid -- a fact that makes me suppose that perhaps those two were more than just complicit victims. But Ronny, your unwitting valor in standing up to those butchers -- I've no doubt to protect your father -- gave me the distraction I needed. The echoing four walls of the patio in that compound made it impossible to tell where the bullets came from. Even I noticed that the sound bounced off the walls.
"If I could, I would give you a medal of honor, Ron. You have proven that you are more of a man than most can ever claim. I am honored to call you my friend."
Ronny was caught in that dilemma that many men are -- between pride and humility. He smiled his thanks to our guest.
"And Gary -- and Brian -- I could not have done it without you both. Ammad and Kohfi -- if they were turned by bribes or threats -- I do not know -- but because of your -- (how do you like to refer to it?) -- your `red-blooded' American machismo and sense of freedom -- I know that you would have died before giving in to such foolishness as bribery OR threats -- well -- obviously neither Brian or Ron were phased by threats -- anyway, I will be eternally in your debt for what you have done for me -- and my friends.
"You may wonder why I have come here this day. I do not wish to make you agonize over it any longer. I have a proposal for you."
We looked around at each other in apprehension. Mo continued: "We have placed 23 of the young men that we brought home with us. Two remain. We have found mostly Muslim -- courageous Muslim -- families to take these individuals -- until they can operate on their own. The legal process is time consuming and sometimes tumultuous -- to become a legal alien in America.
"The reeducation compound has done well in convincing them all that they are better off here. But many Muslims are still afraid of very real threats of retaliation against someone who would cooperate with anyone who opposes the radical agenda. So placing these young men has not been an easy task. Two have even been taken in by Christian families.
"Which brings me to my request of you, Brian -- and also you -- Ron. Two of the boys that we brought back do not want to be separated. One is fifteen and the other is sixteen. They are gay -- and they also are brothers. They wish to be together. I contemplated bringing them with me, but I felt this would be an unfair pressure to put you under. So, instead, I brought their pictures. You may remember seeing them."
He showed us the pictures. Indeed, I was taken back to the scene of their abduction. I was reminded of the pathetically importuning -- and then the complete loss of hope in the eyes of the one boy as he was whisked off in that dirty cab -- driven by my Gary. These were the first two boys that we abducted after moving to the hovel-homes.
"I will not ask you for a decision today, but I wish to ask you if you may be able to take these two brothers in to your home. I will of course bear any expense of their care, but I am aware that it would be an invasion of your privacy -- so please consider it carefully."
I could see excitement in Ronny's eyes. He wanted to jump in and accept them immediately, but he held his tongue. I saw a rigid look on Gary's face. He wouldn't have said anything, and technically, he had no say in this decision, but we had been talking of him moving in with Ronny and me, so I also felt I needed to take his feelings into consideration.
"I will leave you and Ron to make your decision, Brian. I only ask that you make it within a week."
"Can you stay for a ride and lunch?" I asked.
"No -- unfortunately, I must go. I am needed at one of the other young men's foster homes. As well as they might have done at the reeducation compound, American culture -- the newfound freedom -- is difficult for some of them. Again, I cannot begin to express my gratitude to you all!" He hugged each one of us, but lingered much longer hugging Ronny. This time his eyes were wet and he let him go.
"No matter your decision, I will never let you want for anything, friends." He said, but he was peering deeply into my son's eyes. He then kissed each of Ron's scarred cheeks, and quickly walked to the door and left.
I looked at both my loved ones in the room. "Whaddaya think?"
"Don't look at me." Said Gary. "I'm not part of this."
"You're very much part of this, Gary." I said. I turned to my son. "Ron, Gary and I have been discussing that possibility of him moving in here."
"I know." Said Ron, but at the strange look form Gary, he added, "At least I assumed - - it?" and grinned his approval.
"What do you suppose he meant by him bearing the expenses of their care?" I mused.
"I know Mo well enough," said Gary, "that -- I know that's a fair question."
"I don't want to seem -" I started. "Mo is wealthier than you probably imagine." Said Gary. "Whatever it takes, he can afford it."
"If we ask him, it will be as good as a go ahead -- so we have to decide if we want to do it."
"I'm a little -- um -- uncomfortable with it -- I mean, privacy-wise." Said Gary.
Even though I told Gary that he was part of the decision, I felt a little -- resentful -- momentarily. I chided myself. He continued. "I've been downstairs before -- with the door closed. You can hear everything that goes on up here."
"Yeah, he's right!" Said Ronny. I've been down there and - " He stopped and looked down, blushing slightly. "I've heard you two just in the last couple weeks -- heard what you were doing -- in your bedroom." I could tell that he couldn't hold back the smirk that was creeping onto his face. Both Gary's and my mouths dropped open.
"It's okay!" Added Ronny. "I'm glad you love each other -- that much." He looked at Gary affectionately. "I always hoped I'd have another mother!"
"Yeah, and I'm gonna get you for that some day when you least expect it!" Laughed Gary.
I was so happy that my son and my lover were so okay with each other! Then I said, "So -- we still haven't decided whether to take the boys -- or not."
"He gave us a week." Said Gary. "I think we should sleep on it for a few days. We will be more sure either way after that -- don't you think?"
The next Saturday I called Mo. "How nice to hear from you, Brian!" He said, not asking anything further. He clearly wanted me to be the one to initiate whatever happened.
"Mo -- I have to admit something to you. We were wondering -- what you meant when you said you would bear any expense for taking care of the boys. You also need to know that Gary will be moving in with Ronny and me as well."
"Oh! I have to confess to you -- I wondered when that might happen. Brian, I know that taking responsibility for two teenagers is a huge thing to ask. Juts the time and emotional drain is considerable. I also know that it could be a financial strain on - people of moderate means.
"I'd be happy to build rooms on to your home for you -- and of course you will want to increase the size of your stables -- maybe even build a barn. I'd also want to increase the strength of your fencing -- High spirited horses can sometimes be more powerful -- and more intelligent -- than many people give them credit for.
"And of course the cost of feeding, clothing and schooling them will be my pleasure. I have observed your integrity and of course the excellent relationship that you have with Ronny. And I hope you remember that I would consider it my honor and privilege to help Ronny get into whatever university he would like.
"I have also been talking to some plastic surgeons. I have described Ronny's considerable scars. They think that they can make him better than new!"
"Ron may have something to say about that. Some of his old friends already are telling him that it gives him character."
"They are being nice. Of course all I see when I look at him -- besides one of the most courageous men I have ever seen -- is my foolishness. But that aside -- first impressions are often important. Ronny deserves to not have that as the first impression on every girl he meets. But it is his decision. I only wanted to offer."
He paused a moment, I could hear an audible sigh, and then he returned to business. "So -- have I answered your questions sufficiently?" he asked.
"More than sufficiently. I will call you tomorrow with our final decision. Mo -- I'm sorry to make you wait, but it's only fair to discuss this with the others that will have to live with it."
"I would have it no other way, my friend. I will be waiting for your call. Tell ron that I inquired as to his welfare. Good day."
"Oh -- one more question." I said. "I don't want to be in violation of these boys' parents -- what they would want. I know that they have given up those rights but it still is appropriate to have a good memory of their parents as they grow and mature. I am not versed in the religious upbringing of Muslim boys. I - "
"It is of little consequence. These boys parents -- like many Persians -- are not really that religious. They have their cultural practices, but as you have said, they have given up their rights in this. But they do realize that American culture is quite different that what they are used to. I have met their parents and talked about this and other important things with them. You could raise them Christian -- if they accepted it -- and their parents will be grateful that their sons are well taken care of and - " He hesitated.
"Loved?" I said. "Because that's what they will get here -- that is if we decide to take them."
"We understand each other perfectly, my friend. And believe me when I tell you -- I have much affection for you all. Good day."
"Tell us the other side of the conversation!" Said Ronny excitedly.
"You were right, Gary. He is prepared to expend whatever it takes to help us care for the boys."
"I have an idea, Dad."
"And I am all ears." I quipped.
"Why don't you remodel the basement -- for you and Gary. And the boys and I will take the two bedrooms up here. We can sound insulate the floor and -- my walls - "
"Your walls?" Gary smiled.
"Now don't be going all judgmental on me, Mom!" Said my flippant son. "Yeah, I may need my privacy too!"
Ronny had hardy finished saying that when he was tackled by Gary. Gary pinned him in 15 seconds, with both of them giggling like a couple of preteen boys in a farting contest. "I am sorry my sweet son," Gary teased, "that I don't have the right type of teats, however I may happily present something else for you to suck on!"
"You first!" Quipped Ronny.
"Show me what you got!" Laughed Gary.
These two are both like a couple of teens. I was thoroughly entertained. They too were both laughing hard, and Ronny easily pushed Gary off . "Get away from me, Pervert!" Said my playful son, laughing so hard that mucous came out his nose. He wiped it and held up a dripping finger, adding, "Here's something to suck on!"
I'm sure it didn't escape Gary - - or Ronny - - how much snot looks like that other substance!
Gary said, "EEWW!" and looked at me. "Daddy! Ronny's being gross!"
"You boys' are just going to have to settle your disputed between you!" I said, laughing off the daddy' reference.
We called Mo on Sunday and told him we would accept the boys into our home. He asked when we'd like to start the remodeling. I told him we were flexible. If he needed to place the boys soon, we would take them immediately. The quarters in the basement were so far not much more than primitive, but Mo said they were much better than the boys were used to.
"I have another request." Said Mo.
"What's that?"
"I have offered to expand your stable and build a barn. My other request is that I may be allowed to bring my horses form Persia and stable them there. I would hire a trainer to teach Keyvan and Sohrab how to ride and treat the horses, including caring for them. I will also hire a full time tutor to teach them proper English and get them up to speed in American culture and studies. I believe it is important to adopt the culture of the people you are among -- you know -- `when in Rome - '. Otherwise they will crave to return to where they are more comfortable -- or worse -- try to bring that culture here."
"How many horses do you have?" I asked.
"I would like to bring six. I am aware that eight horses is too many for your five acres, but if the fields are mucked out each day, three may be comfortable number -- added to your two, would be five. I will find other arrangements for the others."
"You make your offers very easy to accept, Mo. And as far as the other horses, my neighbors -- the Russians you met -- may be interested in boarding the other three -- if you want them all close."
"You know, my friend, what you have suggested may be a wonderful answer to give Keyvan and Sohrab employment. I would of course improve Mr. Polchek's property as well. And Keyvan and Sohrab can be the full time care givers for my horses -- as well as yours, if you desire it. The boys will be trained by the finest equestrian handler that I know."
"Ronny and I enjoy caring for our horses, and of course we'll have to talk to Dmitri and Ericka, but I have an idea they would not mind such an arrangement."
"May I come up there this afternoon?" Asked Mo.
Mo showed up in a Lincoln Navigator with Stan, 2 architects and an equestrian handler -- and two very shy boys. Guess who occupied the front seat! As soon as the SUV came to a stop, the passenger window lowered and Stan easily hopped out and ran to the front door, waiting impatiently for the rest to catch up.
When I opened the door, Stan took one step in the house and stopped, looking up at his master, who of course looked at me. I nodded and Mo said, "Okay, Stan." He ran to where he knew our dogs were and the three of them came back to the front door, both my hounds scratching at the door. Stan stood respectfully at attention. I let them out.
In the mean time, Mo introduced us to his entourage. The boys were shy and awkward, trying to seem like grown men, but also tried to hide behind MO -- especially when they saw me. They may have remembered I was one of those who forcefully took them from the street and what they perceived was their security and their home. The older brother said something to Mo in Farsi.
"Speak English!" Mo said deliberately, yet encouragingly - - and kindly. "Only English when you are in the presence of others."
Then Mo said, "Do not be afraid. Keyvan -- Sohrab - this will be your new home -- after we get a few things taken care of." The boys looked like they hat been shot, and the younger, 15-year-old Sohrab unconsciously sidled more to the rear of his older brother. It is an interesting phenomenon and a striking difference from American youth, how young men are forced to grow up much sooner in more backward countries, and yet, because they are so untouched by the outside world, can seem so childlike.
"This is one of those who rescued you. He and his son both came at great risk to themselves to bring you here where you may live safely. This is Brian Weber, and this is his son, Ron. You are to consider both of them as your guardians from the time you move in here. This will happen sometime in the near future.
The boys cautiously looked at me and then into my eyes. I said, "Hello. You are welcome here." I smiled. Then they looked at Ronny. Both recoiled slightly at the look of the fresh, very red scars on his face.
"Yes -- those were given to him for helping get you out of Tehran."
The boys looked suddenly fearful. "It's okay, dudes!" Said my gallant son, grinning. "I earned these!" Immediately both boys brightened. "C'mon, let me show you where you'll be staying -- at first." Ronny strode for the stairs. He looked back and the boys hung back, looking cautiously at Mo. Mo nodded his approval and they ran after Ronny.
I then showed the rest layout of the house. By the time we got to the downstairs, Ronny, Keyvan and Sohrab were back up in Ronny's room, very animated and checking out his computers. "I believe that your son will be the best therapy that those boys will get!" Said Mo.
Mo looked around with a querulous expression. "What're you looking for, Mo? The bathroom is just down the hall." Said Gary.
"Oh -- no -- it is nothing."
"No, really, Mo. What do you need?"
"I -- thought I remembered a swimming pool somewhere."
"We have a hot tub at the side of the house." I said. "But no pool."
"No -- it is nothing. I just thought - - um -- do you want one?"
"Oh Mo! I can't ask you to - "
"In fact, my friend, after what you and your son have already done for me -- I cannot ever repay you. But if you need justification, let's say that your dear friend Muhammad likes to swim after he has ridden his horse."
"You're incorrigible!" I said laughing.
"I do not know this word. I have heard you use it before -- with Ron -- so it must not be too bad."
"It means I don't know what to do with you -- I have no sufficient answer -- or objection -- for you."
"Oh." He said, turning serious. "I have offended you. I am sorry. It was not my intent - "
"No, you have not offended me!" I smiled. "I guess I'm just a little overwhelmed with your generosity."
"I have the means to do some things for you -- that's all. In the mean time you do a great service for me -- and of course you have risked your life for my dream. There can be no comparison."
"Actually, I have always dreamed about setting a pool in just outside the side door of the downstairs. That would be perfect for the boys -- all three of them. Ronny has suggested that I move down there with Gary, but if not, he wants to move downstairs with the boys."
"That boy is one in a million, Friend." Said Mo. "Does he realize what he will be doing for those boys? They will know he has done this to comfort them. Now it is I who am nearly overwhelmed."
"That's not the only reason he wants to move!" Said Gary. "I will be moving here after the construction is finished. He wants to give us our space."
"Take note:" Said Mo to one of the architects. "Sound insulate the floors and around all the bedrooms, including the doors."
"This guy don't miss a thing!" Quipped Gary. Mo, for once broke character and winked at him.
We went out to the stable. The architect hummed, hawed and made funny expressions with his mouth. "What is the problem?" Asked Mo.
"I don't think it will be effective to -- save the present structure."
"Do you mind if the current stable is torn down to make room for the new one?" Asked Mo.
"I don't care about that piece of crap! Don't tell Ron I said that. We built it together when he was fourteen."
"We will preserve the old structure!" said Mo. "And besides I like its rustic appearance. Art," he addressed the outbuilding architect, "Make the rest of the new construction appear the same as the old stable. We will find old boards -- perhaps from another ranch nearby.
Art frowned and looking slightly sickened, but nodded.
When we came back into the house, Ronny seemed to be showing Keyvan a game or something on one of his computers. I'm not sure he noticed that 16-year-old Keyvan's head was drooping, and his eyes were closed, as he slouched low in his chair. Sohrab was out cold -- on the bed.
When Ronny sensed us at his door, he looked over and across Keyvan's drooping head. "Oh! Heh! Guess I got carried away. I think I bored them to sleep!"
"I doubt that!" Said Mo. "It is time to leave."
"Oh, no!" I said. "You can't! I wanted to barbecue some meat up and have you for dinner."
"We really must go. We have another engagement down in Vacaville. I am sorry to wake the boys. They have had a very long day, but we must."
"Oh!" Said Ronny. "We were hoping to have a sleepover tonight! Can't they stay?"
Mo looked at me for approval. "It's fine. Ronny doesn't start school for another couple months -- actually sometime after Christmas -- Cosumnes River College."
"That is a junior college -- right?" Asked Mo.
"Yes -- it is in Placerville." I said.
"I will arrange for them all to go to the University! UCD is not a far commute from here."
"You really have that much pull?" I said.
"Wait a minute!" said Ronny. "Don't I get a say in this?" We stopped talking and looked at my somewhat perturbed son. "I have already pre-registered up in Placerville. And the classes are easier -- or so I am told -- at that level. I want to get most of the required classes out of the way. I haven't really decided what I want to study anyway."
"Is this true? It is easier to take the same classes at the lower level institutions?" Asked Mo.
"I have heard that." I said.
"Keyvan wants to be a doctor and Sohrab, a dentist. They have an excellent premed course at UCD."
"Keyvan and Sohrab want this?" Asked Ronny. "Or is that what you -- or their parents want?"
"A boy must decide his path of education by the time he is 15 in Persia -- and most of the Arab states as well."
"But -- did they really decide, or was this decided by their parents?" Asked Ronny again.
Mo looked at Ronny for a moment. "You will have to ask them that question. Whatever they decide to answer you -- they WILL follow their planned path. This is not up for further discussion."
We could not argue with that.
"So -- okay -- can they stay here tonight?" Ronny pressed on.
"They do not look like they will be much company -- but if you wish it. May I help get them downstairs?"
"Oh no! They can stay here. My bed is big enough for all of us."
Mo raised his eyebrows at that, but said nothing about it except, "It should not be a problem for them -- if it is not for you. Their bed in Tehran was not much bigger than what you would call a cot -- and they both slept on it. Of course I don't have to remind you -- they - "
"I know -- they're gay. They won't bother me. They think I'm like a dad."
"A dad? -- you mean like a father?"
"Well -- maybe a very cool dad!" He grinned.
I thought about how he sleeps with his own dad and decided to talk to him about that later.
"Then I will take Art and Will back to our rendezvous and I must hurry to make my appointment. Expect both Art and Will here tomorrow morning." He looked at the architects and they nodded.
After Mo and company left, I asked Gary to give me a moment with my boy. "Ron -- let's walk."
He knew that when I wanted to walk, there was something coming. "Ronny, I just want to warn you -- these boys probably now -- as most mid-teen boys would do -- will nearly worship you. I wouldn't want you to do anything that makes than think you feel anything -- um -- more than you do."
"What -- do -- you mean, Pop?"
"Well, when you sleep with me, we get closer than -- um -- most sons and dads do. If you were to do that with those young teen boys, they may very likely take it wrong. It could cause them false expectations from you and also cause bitterness between the two of them.
"What? Um -- OOOooohhh -- no Pop! Not gonna happen. I hardly know them. I love you, Dad. I would never get that chose to anyone else!"
"Well, maybe not now."
"Never with them. I know that they look up to me. I can feel it as much as you can see it. Yeah, I can see why you were worried. But -- well -- don't be. This is a sleep over like any I'd have with any friend. I haven't done that much, but as you know, I stayed over a couple times recently with Kevin. And guess what? We slept on his bed together. But we didn't do anything -- much."
"Much?"
"Nothing, dad -- just guy stuff -- you know."
"Actually I don't know." I said chagrinned. "I didn't have any close guy friends in high school. I really envy you that."
"Oh! Well, like I said, we didn't do much. But the last time, we did a wank together. We didn't touch each other Dad. It just -- was no big thing."
"Before we left for Tehran, you stayed and said he had a video. I remember Gary asking if it was porn."
"It wasn't -- that night."
"So -- the last night -- it was?"
"Well -- yeah. We both laughed when we caught each other rubbing ourselves. Then he said, `Oh what the hell?' and he started to wank it."
"That was pretty bold -- right there in front of you? I don't think boys did that when I was your age."
"I don't know if they do now, but -- we did. But we both had everything all covered up. It wasn't as if we were checking each other out while we did it. Only the video. Don't worry -- I won't do anything like that with Keyvan and Sohrab. Um -- didn't you ever do anything when you were a boy -- with other boys?"
"Nope. I was always afraid they might somehow notice my feelings. I stayed away from situations like that."
"Omigosh! I did it a lot when I was younger."
"You did?"
"You know, like when I was in 5th and sixth grade. It was with me and Mark -- and also me and Robert."
"But -- all you did was wank together?"
"No -- we did other stuff. We tried almost everything -- that we could think of. I know all the guys did that kind of stuff. Both Mark and Robert told me they did it with other guys too -- and together."
"Did you ever get together with the two of them?"
"Naw. But once some of us -- when we were in junior high -- did a circle jerk. To see who could come first."
"I guess that's how normal guys learn about things." I said, very surprised.
"What we learned was that when doing a circle jerk, you stand further apart than we did. Bobby Miller got my jizz right in his eye! We all called him cum-eye for a long time after -- when no one else was listening. I almost forgot about that. He didn't much appreciate it either. I'll have to call him sometime and apologize! Haha!"
"You'll have to tell me how that went. Isn't he about 5 inches taller than you now?"
"Yeah he grew a lot in high school. He had to -- catch up with his dick!"
"Big, huh?"
"Oh, Pop! It would scare most girls if they saw it -- mostly because of the stark difference between his skinny body and his fat, long dick! It must have been 8" long -- when all the rest of us -- in Junior high -- were 4 -- 5" at the most! And Dad -- it's super fat! And it grew more in high school!"
"Sounds like you'd like to have it!" I laughed.
"Haha! Who wouldn't?!! At least it was something to show off in the showers. Guys always look, but you couldn't help gawking at Bobby -- or rather his monster dick! And you'd think he'd be a little embarrassed. Not Bobby!"
"We better get back. Gary must think we got lost - "
"Or went riding without him! anyway, don't worry -- I won't give them anything to confuse them."
"If you're gonna stay with them -- downstairs -- maybe I'll go stay with Gary -- down at his place -- tonight. I think he'd appreciate some time alone."
"Aw, I'm sorry, Dad -- I'm probably a drag on you, now that you're -- um -- dating again."
"Ronny, don't be silly. You could never be a drag on me. I love you more than anything else in the world. I know you've heard us before, Ron. I'm not worried about it. But I don't want to give those boys something to giggle about. Even that can over-stimulate a teen boy."
"I know."
"Huh?"
"I giggled the first couple of times I heard you, but after that -- (hahaha!) I just joined in with you!"
"RONNY!" I said, and we both just about fell on the ground laughing.
"Well -- you make a lot of noise!"
"Omigod, Ronny! I didn't -- I mean -- I'm sorry! I had not idea - "
"Sorry??!! Don't be sorry. Besides the fact that I loved listening to both of you get off, I learned something from it."
"You learned something?"
"Dad -- why didn't you tell me it feels so good to get off when you yell?"
I know I was equally as red as Ronny, but that's how close we are. "Ronny -- it never occurred to me to tell you -- how to handle your orgasm. I learned it by myself. I guess it's good you learned it by yourself too !"
"Well -- with a little help from my dad -- even if he didn't know he was helping me!"
"Omigod! Gary's gonna freak out when I tell him - "
"DAD!! You're not gonna tell him, are you? You can't! I told you that in confidence! I'd be so embarrassed if he knew I was wankin' along with you -- AND timing my orgasms to coincide with yours -- so I could scream too. PLEASE don't tell him!"
"Well -- when you get older -- you have to promise to tell him someday -- when you aren't so freaked about it."
"Oh, I'm not exactly freaked, Dad, just -- I don't want him to know -- right now."
"There he is looking out the window -- I knew he's be wondering where we were."
"Dad?"
"Yes, Son?"
"I love you too, you know!"
"I DO know. We are so lucky to be so close, Ronny. I know not many boys and their dad's are. I surely wasn't with my dad."
"Well, I'm gonna be with my sons!" Said Ron, as we entered the house.
"Did you men have a good talk?" Asked Gary
"Yeah," said Ronny, "We decided you and dad will stay down at your place tonight."
"Oh?" Said Gary.
"Yup! You guys need your privacy sometimes."
"Huh? Oh -- oooohhhh!" Gary looked somewhat dismayed. He whispered to me, "Um -- this may not be the best night for that. My herpes -- I actually have my first actual breakout."
"Oh!" I said and smiled. "It's okay Ron -- tonight won't work, anyway. Go see what the boys are up to, so I can talk to Gary a little."
Ronny ran to his bedroom, where the two boys were curled up sleeping on Ronny's bed. My sensitive son went in and closed the door.
"Does Ronny know about my herpes?"
"Well -- yeah -- he knows why you stayed away for such a long time. But I don't know if he'd put this together."
"He's a smart kid, Brian. I'm sure he knows. "Brian, I can't say I know a lot of kids that age -- but if all kids were like Ron, there wouldn't be any problems in the world today. He's definitely got it all together."
"I worry a little that he will have a problem relating to a girl -- since he lost his mom when he was 9."
"I think he'll do just fine. He's just so well rounded -- for an 18-year-old. I know a lot of guys that never grow up that much! Sometimes I think about all the noise we make sometimes. He HAS to be able to hear it! But he just seems to shine it on."
I wanted so much to say something to Gary about my conversation with Ronny, but I promised. "Yeah, well, like you said, he's a smart kid. For all we know -- he enjoys listening to it."
"You know -- I think I would!" Said Gary.
"I don't have any herpes on your mouth! If we can't fuck -- we can kiss!" I said, then I pulled him into a warm, wet, deep and long kiss. "You don't have to go home tonight, do you?" I said.
"It's a little frustrating just holding my man while falling asleep, but - I guess it must be love -- I still love it!"
Notes: That's the way with herpes. You just don't play when there is a breakout. And now with the new meds that can be gotten, it's even safer. The author is well acquainted with the virus. Just not the genital variety -- but even though genital herpes (II) is more serious than Herpes I, the symptoms are pretty much the same: A deep itch before a breakout and then sometimes there is never a breakout.
The advertisements for the meds suggest that it is easily passed on without a breakout. I've never seen this phenomenon, and it may be just a ploy to scare people into buying the product, but better safe than sorry. There are some who claim to cure it. I would NOT trust these until my doctor says it's so.
