The party was a huge success! I hadn't done a lot, except of making the list of guests, and even that was easy, as Peter and Doc had kept all the cards of people sending condolences. I added a few more people who I knew had not been able to be at the funeral. The invitation to the party was simple but explicit. It was in loving memory of Jeremy. I had planned the party at the end of June, coinciding with Jeremy's birthday, but also to be almost a hundred percent assured we would have nice weather. For the rest I had contracted a events organizing company who would be in charge of everything going from the catering to the entertainment and from the decoration to personnel.
The day I arrived at the house after being released from the hospital, I had noticed most of Jeremy's had disappeared. Fortunately, Doc had kept everything: He said he was not sure I would ever want it again, but for the party I wanted all possible pictures and DVD's where Jeremy appeared on. I asked the events company if they knew someone who could make a montage of video's and pictures that would be showed on the evening of the party. That company was not cheap, but they were more than professional and efficient.
Early in the morning, around 7 the first trucks were in front of the house, unloading so much stuff, I just wondered where they would all put it. The responsible person for the event was a woman in her late thirties. She was stunningly beautiful and a born leader. She had it all well planned and structured and not a minute was lost on unnecessary things. She knew exactly what had to be done first and all her providers came just in time after the previous one had finished. It was marvelous to see the entire orchestration of the whole event.
The guests were invited for seven o'clock in the afternoon and the last truck left the house just ten minutes before. Rachel, the events manager, came over and tried to make a impersonation of Colonel Hannibal Smith from the A-Team saying to: "I love it when a plan comes out as I wished!". She knew of course the purpose of the party as I had told her everything when we first met. At that time she had not said a word, but as she was about to leave she told me she thought it was a marvelous idea. She also told me that when the last guests were gone, I could just go to bed and that when I would wake up, I wouldn't even notice we had a party.
At seven o'clock sharp the first guests arrived. If I saw any sad face, I immediately walked over to the person telling them that we were here to celebrate Jeremy's life and not mourn him. On the terrace in the garden there was a huge buffet worth of first class hotels around the world. It was beautifully decorated and some of the items were difficult to say if they were for eating or just decorating. There was also a table dressed as a bar with a huge bucket with bottles of Champagne, Jeremy's favorite drink. On the far end of the garden, which was not that big, there was a stage and a band playing soft music. On that same stage they had also mounted a huge screen where the edited video would be projected later, as soon as it was dark enough. You couldn't look in any direction without seeing fantastic flower arrangements. If it had been for a wedding, it would not have been better.
Soon enough the house and the garden were buzzing with people enjoying themselves. Doc and Peter didn't leave my side and I was happy for that. They were both my best friends ever and Peter ... well, I had special feelings for him and I identified those feelings as love. Yes, on that day on Jeremy's and my spot, where Doc and Peter and I had had wonderful climaxes, Jeremy had given us his blessing and I felt ready to love and commit myself to Peter. Once the sun started to go down, I saw the personnel of the events company lit hundreds of candles in the garden as well as in the house. The atmosphere was really magical, and this magic translated itself into people coming over to me, hugging me and telling me they could actually feel Jeremy's presence. It was true. Doc and Peter were standing at my side and we, more than once, looked simultaneously to the sky. That simple act had gotten a special meaning for us since the famous day on our spot. I made a little sign to the band and soon they were playing "Happy Birthday". A lot of the guests were looking surprised, wondering who's birthday it was, but as there was no birthday cake, they were clueless. I gave Doc a peck on his cheek and Peter a peck on his lips. Then I went to the stage and took the microphone in my hands. As the band ended the happy birthday song I started to speak:
- Good evening everybody! Thank you so much for being here. I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. For those who don't know it, it is actually Jeremy's birthday today.
A huge round of applause interrupted me.
- As most of you know, I was not able to be at his funeral and couldn't thank you all in person for the support and the affection you showed to him and to me. But tonight is not a sad night. Since when are birthday party's sad happenings? We are here to celebrate Jeremy and his way of life: full of joy and happiness. I am sure nobody will ever forget him, but I also know that a lot of you didn't know him THAT well. I'd like you to show who he really was.
At that moment, all electric lights when out and the video started to play. I had chosen the music and more than one of the guests had goose bumps over their entire body. The video started with a collection of pictures of Jeremy taken over the years and then we all heard his voice in some of the video's we had made over that same period. There was a lot of laughter in this montage and I could see a lot of people smiling. One of the passages was Jeremy telling a joke and everybody knew he was the worst joke teller on the planet as he forgot parts of the joke and often told the end before it's time. Despite that, everybody was laughing out loud. As I had often taped his departure for one of his business trips, I had asked the editing company to use that as the end of the presentation. He was looking straight at the camera saying goodbye and blowing a kiss at me. After that the screen went black.
There was quite a silence! Then, suddenly, one person started to applaud and soon there was a standing ovation to Jeremy and his life. I was beaming. Among the guests were Jeremy's parents and I saw his mother wiping a tear away. His father did as well, but was hiding it more efficiently. I took the microphone in my hands and spoke again:
- Dear friends, we have here, among us, Jeremy's mother and father.
The guy who was managing the following light directed it to them. They were soon in the center of attention.
- These people are responsible for so many happy moments we could share with Jeremy. Thanks Mum, Thanks Pop. Please, don't cry. Don't be sad because he left us. Please smile for all the good times he provided us. Let's be grateful for all he's given us.
Another round of applause interrupted me.
- So ... as you all know Jeremy was a fantastic dancer (actually he had not the slightest sense of rhythm and almost never danced knowing his limitations).
Another round of huge laughter enveloped the garden.
- But that doesn't mean we have all to mimic him! So, let's have this fantastic band do their job and dance the night away!
I got another round of applause. I went off stage. I joined Doc and Peter and they had both really bright smiles on their faces. Doc asked where I had that video from and I told him it was a montage of last minute, or almost. He wanted a copy of it.
- You'll have it when you walk out, I told him.
I had indeed foreseen a copy of that DVD for every single guest at the party.
-
Oh, shit, said Peter, I won't have a copy than as I don't think to leave you or this place ever.
-
You can have the original one if you like, because I won't need it, I answered. I have all those memories in my heart Peter, and although I love you more than you can imagine, you can't ask me to forget Jeremy! He is in my heart and will be there for as long as I live.
Doc put his hand in my neck and wanted my attention as he said:
-
We know that Frank, we know! But don't shut the door to new love. Peter and I love you deeply and with all of our hearts and we want you to be happy. We have shared quite a lot of things, with or without Jeremy. But the love that makes us stick together is strong and nobody will be able to come in between of us. Peter here loves you more than YOU can imagine, and I am sure that love is really mutual. Don't shut the door, please.
-
I won't shut any door Doc, and even if I did, you know that closing door automatically opens a window! The chapter of my life where Jeremy was a big part of it, is closed Doc. He is gone and nothing will bring him back. The only things I have of him are the memories in my heart and in my mind. I can assure you nobody or nothing will ever be able to take that away from me. But, you sure know my heart is big enough to let someone else in. I have like a thousand blank pages to write with someone new and I hope it will be a chapter that will be as interesting as the chapter with Jeremy.
Then I turned towards Peter and said:
- I think I know the answer Peter, but I have to ask you: would you like to be the main character of the new chapter? Do you think you can share me with a spirit? Oh, shit, how do I say it? Do you want to be my husband Peter?
Peter looked stunned but happy at the same time. His eyes were sparkling like stars. His was shaking and his eyes got wet. He tried to say something but not a word came out of his mouth. Doc had to give him a push with his elbow in his ribs for Peter to find back his speech:
-
Yes Frank, I want to be your husband and I am not afraid to share my life with a guy and a spirit! I love you since so long Frank, you can't imagine.
-
Oh yes I can imagine as even Jeremy told me you had a crush on me! I answered.
Peter was suddenly out of this world. He looked at me with the most incredulous feelings in his eyes. He looked over at Doc who was smiling and confirmed what I had said as Jeremy had told him the same.
-
Was I that obvious? He asked.
-
Not to me, I said, but apparently to Jeremy and Doc you were.
I got closer to Peter and gave him the most sensual kiss I could manage. He responded in the very same way.
Close to midnight most of the guests were gone. When we looked around we could see Jeremy's parents talking to Peter's parents who were there as well. I looked up at Peter and asked him, silently, if we could approach them. He looked at me and had a single nod. As the two couples saw us approaching the table they stopped their conversation and looked up at us. I had my arm around Peter's waist and he had his arm on my shoulders. It was Jeremy's father who spoke first:
- I guess life goes on Frank. Our son is gone, but our second son, you, will always be welcome and as far as I can see we will have a third son in a short time!
The acceptance of Jeremy's parents meant a lot to me. I didn't want them to think I had already forgotten the man I had shared my life with for over six years. They understood that even if Jeremy's life had come to a sudden stop, mine hadn't. Jeremy's father stood up and came to me and hugged me as the son he considered me to be. His mother as well got up and I wrapped my arms around her. She didn't say anything but I could feel the pain she had inside. In a certain way, she was just afraid to lose me as well. After our hug I looked her in the eyes and assured her we would stay in contact and that Peter and I would come over that much that she would get bored of seeing us. Then it was Peter's mother who took me in her arms and had no words enough to express what she had felt watching the video of Jeremy. She was in an emotional overload. Her husband came to the rescue saying that I was welcome to the family. And then he asked the only question I didn't want to hear:
-
Where are your parents, Frank?
-
They couldn't be here, I lied.
I didn't want to bring up the story of them disowning me when I told them I was gay. It was one black cloud in my blue sky and I wanted to ignore it completely. I had told Peter about it when I was in hospital. He, one day, asked me if I wanted him to call anybody of my family. I then told him my story about what happened when I came out and that he had not to bother about calling them, as I was dead to them anyway. Peter had not insisted on the matter and we hadn't talked about it since then. I looked at Peter but he had the perfect poker face about it and still had a smile on his face. His parents didn't insist on the matter and neither did Jeremy's parents.
A little after one o'clock, the only ones left were Doc, Peter and I. I was exhausted! Doc was yawning and said he was going home as he had patients to see in the morning. He kissed us good night and was on his way. Peter and I were still surrounded by quite some people of the events company, who were doing their job. As we got up to go to our bedroom, we passed the kitchen that was already completely cleaned up.
We reached the bedroom and undressed. We took a quick shower and after drying off we were between the sheets in no time. We were both exhausted after such a long day and so much activity around the house and the party. We snuggled up to each other all the while kissing and caressing each other's bodies, but knew we were far too tired for a long lovemaking session. We were just happy to be in each other's arms and have that electrifying skin-to-skin contact. My eyelids got heavy and I soon drifted off to dreamland.
I had a dream. You know? Those dreams where you actually, consciously know you are dreaming. From a far light I saw Jeremy walking up to me. He had his usual enticing smile on his face. He came so close I could almost touch him, but strangely enough couldn't move my arms to get to him. He started to talk to me and even if in the beginning his words made no sense, slowly the sentences started to form themselves and I heard him:
- I know you will never forget me, and neither will I. You have new arms in which to feel safe and secure. Peter is the one you will get old with, I can tell. Love him like you loved me, and you will be blessed with the protection of the angels. Sleep well my beloved one; tomorrow is the first day of a new life for you!
With these words he went backwards without moving, as if he was floating. The light went really very bright to the point it almost hurt my eyes. Then I realized the bright light was from the sunshine coming through the window. It was morning.
I remembered every details of the dream and wanted to share it with Peter, but his was softly snoring next to me. I looked at the alarm clock and saw it was already past nine. I tried to get out of bed without waking Peter, but a strong arm grabbed me and he pulled me to him.
-
Where do you think you go without giving me a morning kiss? he asked.
-
I was on my way to the bathroom to avoid wetting the bed ... and if you keep me in your grip, that's exactly what will happen: an awful stinking mess on the sheets.
Peter laughed out loud but nonetheless released his grip. I emptied my bladder and started to shave when Peter joined me in the bathroom. He had some problems with emptying his bladder because of his morning wood, but succeeded after all. He then turned to me and took the razor out of my hand.
- Let me do that, he said.
He stood in front of me and started to shave my face very carefully. As I suddenly had nothing to do, I put my hands on his hips. His skin was so soft I wanted to feel more and my hands started to roam over his body in a feathery touch. He was soon covered in goose bumps. I continued nonetheless and as I reached his nether regions I discovered that my ministrations had quite an effect on him as his cock was pointing to the ceiling. I grabbed it with one hand and cupped his balls with the other. I was still amazed with the hardness of his manhood and the velvety feeling of his skin. His manhood was warm in my hand and pre- cum started oozing out. I rubbed it all over his cock-head and felt his balls retract into his body although he as not n the verge of coming. I kept playing with his balls and the hairs on his scrotum tickled in my hand. I had to giggle and he asked we what was going on. I told him and added that maybe I should shave his balls.
- I was thinking exactly the same, he said and joining the action to the word he kneeled in front of me, took the shaving cream an applied it to my shaft and balls.
When everything was covered with soft soap, except my pubes (I didn't want to be baby smooth), he took the razor and started to remove all the hairs on my shaft first. He did it with a caring softness and very careful as to not inflict any damage to my manhood. I could feel the razor glide over my shaft all around. It was so erotic! My cock grew to enormous proportions and it made it easier for him to shave it. He then went down to my balls and stretched the skin so he wouldn't cut me. I had to hold on to the sink to steady myself. He kept on gliding the razor over my balls and inspecting every inch to be sure he hadn't left any. Once all the hairs on shaft and balls were gone, he took a warm washcloth and removed the remaining cream. Then he took some baby oil and rubbed it all over the shaven area.
- That's to keep the skin soft, he said.
And to prove his point he added his tongue and his lips to his hands and kept caressing the tender skin. He licked my shaft from the bottom to the top and swirled his tongue over my rock hard cock-head. It was so sensitive that the feeling of his tongue on it made me gasp for air. He went on and on licking my shaved part and I could feel a clear difference in the sensations he was giving me. I didn't know if he did the same as always, but it sure felt softer and more exciting.
- Before you shoot your load, Baby, he said, would you mind doing the same to me? Shaving me I mean?
As I was still shaking from his expert tongue on my body, I told him I would, as soon as I stopped trembling. He smiled at me and kissed me softly on my shaft, then coming up he licked my navel and following his ascending route nibbled on my nipples till at last his lips met mine. The soft and tender kissing always had a calming and relaxing effect on me, till the excitement took over and turned the kiss in pure passion. Peter refrained from it, as his purpose was to calm me down enough so I could shave him without cutting off his manhood. As he felt that the shaking had ceased, he leant against the wall behind him and spread his legs a little wider so I would have perfect access to his nether region. I put some shaving cream on my hands and started to rub it all over his shaft and balls, just like he had done to me. He handed me the razor and I did my very best to mimic what he had done, being probably over-careful. At each stroke of the razor I saw his hairs disappear and showing me smooth skin. Just as me, he was rock hard and it also made it a lot easier. His balls were hanging low in his scrotum and I carefully let the razor glide as to make him as smooth as he had left me. When I was finished, we stepped into the shower to rinse off all the remaining cream, hairs and baby oil.
-
I want to check if all the hairs are really gone, I said to him.
-
I was thinking exactly the same! he answered, and lead me to the bedroom.
We fell on the bed and got ourselves in a 69 position so as to be able to both inspect the shaven area of the other. I didn't trust my eyes, as some of the hairs could be so tiny, so I used my tongue. I was pleasantly surprised to lick smooth skin in a place where I normally found a lot of hairs. I licked his shaft and took his head in my mouth, but I was too curious to feel his shaven balls in my mouth. So, I went down again and licked his scrotum to satiation. I opened my mouth wide and stuffed his balls in it and trapped them. I let my tongue swirl over the smooth balls. The sensation was more than pleasurable. It excited me to the highest point, even more because Peter was bathing my balls in his mouth. The sexual tension was getting higher and higher. As the new sensations were wearing off a bit we both went back to the rock hard shafts in front of our mouth. We sucked each other as never before and our hands couldn't stop caressing the freshly shaven balls and shafts. Peter took the lubrication gel and squirted a good amount on his hands and rubbing it over my cock and balls. It seemed that with the hairs out of the way, he was caressing places I didn't even know I had. He drove me completely wild and I was trashing and squirming. My whole genital region seemed to be under the effects of electric shocks. I moaned and groaned and was short of breath. Those feelings were completely new for me and I knew I was about to shoot my load as if I was having a premature ejaculation. I wanted to warn Peter, but my mouth was stuffed with his cock. The tingling in my balls got really strong and I felt that contraction in my lower belly that occurs just before the first spurt. And a strong spurt it was! I felt very powerful spasms in my crotch and continued filling Peter's mouth. He drank my juice avidly, sucking even harder on my dick, as to not lose a single drop. He drank my semen and he couldn't warn me that he was going over the edge as well and his sweet-sour semen filled my mouth by surprise. Despite the surprise I swallowed as fast as I could because I just loved his juice and didn't want to miss it. We kept sucking till our cocks went limp and were clean.
We were totally spent and hadn't had our coffee yet! We got up and went to the kitchen where I started the coffee. Peter was rummaging in the fridge to find us something for breakfast. I looked through the window and saw that, just as Rachel had promised, there wasn't a trace of the party last night, except the flower arrangements that they had left. We had left a book at the entrance, in which anybody could write a note of condolences or whatever they wanted to write. I was looking for it and found it on the dinning room table. As Peter started breakfast I started to read the notes and was surprised to see that almost everybody had written in it. It was almost full! As I suspected, there were quite a lot of condolences and some were really emotional messages. It seemed to be that most people had actually wrote on their way out, as there were a lot of comments on the video that we had shown. On the last page there were a lot of comments from the people of the events company and I was surprised to see the last note was from Rachel. So she had been here even after we went to bed. Some of the notes were totally unreadable. Some people's writing skills were just below zero, but strangely enough I appreciated them equally. One message was a total surprise, although it was very short:
"I will always love you. Be happy with Peter. J."
As I looked closer, I thought I recognized Jeremy's handwriting. I was flabbergasted and asked Peter to come over and look at it. He had the same quizzical look on his face as I had. Peter ran into the little office we had and came back with the list of the guests and went through it. We couldn't find anyone with a first name starting with a J. We had no explanation for that little note. I didn't dare to mention what I thought to Peter, but looking at his face I knew he was thinking exactly the same as I did. If we had heard his voice, was it possible that he had left a note as well? I didn't think it was remotely possible, but it sure was the ONLY explanation we found right then. We were both really intrigued.
Later on the day Doc came by and we showed him the note in the book. He had the same quizzical look on his face as Peter and I had had before. We told him there was nobody on the list with the initial J. It was a total mystery to him as well. Even if we tried to forget about it, we couldn't. It was far too strange to leave it just behind us. Doc thought that maybe one of the guests had a first name starting with J, but that we'd known him, or her, by his middle name or something like that, but we couldn't find a definite answer.
As to try to get our minds off of it, Doc invited us for lunch. Peter and I went upstairs to dress and as we came down, Doc was looking through the book, reading the notes. He had found a second note, identical to the first one, but the handwriting was totally different. Below the note there was no J but a single R. We went through the list once more and found several people with a first name starting with R, so that note could be of any of them. The mystery was not solved.
We went out anyway. Lunch was terrific. Doc had discovered a new small restaurant downtown. It was called "Food of the World". It was a very nice restaurant and the place was beautifully decorated with items that, indeed, seemed to come from all parts of the world. The menu was varied. All the dishes were known as specialties of different countries. The owner was a guy around his forties and he explained that all the decoration and all the dishes on the menu were from the travels he had made in the last twenty years. The whole idea was magnificent and we were absolutely convinced his restaurant would be a huge success. I sure didn't want to be the cook in the kitchen with such a variety of dishes to prepare! It was not only the menu that was so eclectic, also the wine list featured wines from all over the world. Peter counted nothing less than twenty-four countries on the menu and Doc found about seventeen countries on the wine list. When we were finished, the owner came by and asked, of course, if everything was to or liking. We couldn't do anything less than to congratulate him and even invite him for a drink with us, as the business seemed to slow down a bit. We had millions of questions for him. He was a talkative man and he gave us all the information we wanted. He let us know that he business was the association of eight people, including himself (he was Canadian), the cook (who was Belgian) the sommelier (who was South African) the barman (who was from Singapore) and the four waiters (who were respectively from Spain, Russia, Morocco and Argentina). All together they spoke a total of fourteen languages! On top of that, they were all very nice looking men and as we asked him where he had found all those men, he just stated that they were all former lovers. For the moment they were all living together till each one would find a place of their own.
To say we were stunned was an understatement. In the corner of my eye I had seen Doc looking over the waiter, the Spanish one, and the looks were coming from both sides. Knowing Doc as I knew him, I was sure the waiter would end in Doc's bed sooner or later. I got the confirmation of my suspicion as I saw Doc giving him his card when we left the restaurant. Doc was always discreet in such matters, but I knew him too well and could almost predict what he was going to do. He also mentioned to the owner of the restaurant that he was a doctor and that if they needed anything, he could just call.
On the drive home, Peter and I teased Doc about the card that had slipped from one hand into the other. He first tried to keep the professional approach but soon had to give in that Jaime (Oh, so he already knew his name) had caught his eye ... if that made Doc happy, we were happy as well. Doc dropped us off at the house and was on his way a little faster than usual. Peter and I looked at each other and wondered if Doc had arranged a date with Jaime in the little time he had had with the waiter.
In the two following weeks, we didn't see Doc at all. That was quite unusual and I even tried to call his mobile phone, but he didn't pick-up. I called his practice, but Janice told me ha was awfully busy. Her answered sounded like a pre-recorded message! I decided to drop by his practice if we didn't see him over the weekend, but on the Sunday morning she showed up. I was only half surprised that he arrived at the house in company of Jaime and ... they even held hands! That was totally out of Doc's habits. I called Peter to come down quickly because he was doing things upstairs. He was just on the last step of the stairs when I opened the door. Doc was beaming! I had never seen such an expression on his face before! I looked over at Jaime and he was beaming as well, but in a shyer way.
They came in and Doc kissed Peter and me and then introduced Jaime in a proper way. I couldn't help but wishing him welcome to the "family". He had a bright smile. Jaime didn't really know how to act or behave, but Doc was so gentle and tender with him that he soon relaxed.
-
We can't stay long, Doc said, as Jaime has to be at the restaurant in less than an hour, and I am on duty- call. But, if you offer coffee, we won't refuse!
-
Ok, I said, come into the kitchen and as you have little time, we won't question you to know what happened, but the results are obvious.
Four mugs of steaming coffee were soon on the table and then Doc dropped the bomb.
- We are going to Spain next week. Jaime has to renew his passport. You probably know that in Spain gay marriage is legal and so we decided to kill two birds with one stone and get married! As a matter of fact, we would like you guys to join us on the trip and be the legal witnesses of the event.
To say we were speechless and stunned was an absolute understatement. It took Peter and me almost a full three minutes to realize what Doc had just said. Doc ... the eternal bachelor ... the guy who didn't want any commitments was announcing that he was actually settling down? We couldn't believe our ears. He laughed out loud and told us to wake up.
- Yes, I know it comes as a surprise, but I knew that when I would meet my Mr. Right, I would know it from the very start, and Jaime is my Mr. Right! He feels the same about me and we don't need to wait to see how things are going to work out. We just know it!
I still didn't know what to say, so I got up and went over to Doc to hug him and then Jaime. Peter did the same and we both congratulated the new couple. I immediately took the mugs of coffee away and opened a bottle of Champagne. That news called for celebration.
Do I leave this story to your imagination to complete? Or do I write one more chapter? It is up to you guys. If you like the story, please let me know at amahy1957@gmail.com !
