Hi Everyone...This is a story I threw together while I had writer' block on my other story. It's just three chapters long and I don't know if I will go any farther with it. But who knows.

If you have any comments or suggestions, I would love to hear them. Send them to me at K_Magic@Prodigy.Net.

Disclaimer... This is a fictional story between a fictional character and JC Chasez of NSYNC. This in no way implies anything about the sexuality or any thing else of Mr Chasez. This is all fiction

----------------------------- Not Meant to Be - Chapter One -----------------------------

"Hello"

"Hi Ky...Uh, we have a big favor to ask you."

"What now Sis"

"Hold on a sec"

"Uncle Kyle"

"Hi, sweety, what's up?"

"Are you free tonight?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Mom and Dad are busy tonight, can you take me somewhere?"

"Sure, where to?"

Muffled on the other end of the phone. "He said yes, he said yes...I got to go call Jesse"....

"Hey Ky"

"Ok where am I going tonight?"

"You, my dear brother are driving two thirteen year olds to a concert tonight, thank you very much. You know you are my favorite brother..."

"I'm your only brother. Now why such the short notice?"

"Well actually, it's kind of a long story. But Kellie and a friend Amy have tickets for this concert. Amy's mom was suppose to take the kids to the concert tonight, but unfortunately, Amy and her family had to go back east for Thanksgiving for a family emergency and can't get back until Wednesday. So Kell has two extra tickets, one of which she is giving to her friend Jesse and the other goes to the chaperone. Jesse's parent are unable to drive them tonight and Rick and I have plan tonight. So..."

"It's Uncle Kyle to the rescue."

"You got it"

"Ok give me the bad news...Who am I stuck watching tonight...and don't tell me it's the Backstreet Boy because I swear, I'll puke. It was bad enough we had to sit through Thanksgiving listening to that CD over and over and over again."

"Well it's your lucky day, it's not them."

"Well...."

"It a group called...Ummm...Instinct in think"

"Instinct?"

(....That's NSYNC Mom...God). I hear in the backgroud verrry loudly.

"Oh, I'm sorry it's NSYNC...I guess I the lamest mom there is."

"No comment, Sis."

"So do you know who they are?"

"Yeah, I've heard a few of their songs. I'm still hip, unlike you ancient ones whose musical interest have changed to the stuff Dad listens to. But I guess when you hit the magical age of..."

"Shut up little boy, I may be a few years older than you but I can still kick your 23 year old ass."

"A few years older...Try a decade plus two."

"Kiss my ass you freak of nature, you know damn well you weren't suppose to be born...stupid ass faulty condom anyways. I should be an only child. I swear...Mom and Dad should have sued. We could have put you up as evidence and they would have won millions. All they would have to say is that because of your shitty ass quality control, the condom had a hole in it and now look what we're stuck with."

"Yeah, but right now you should be thanking that condom because...if it didn't have that little hole, you would be driving your kid to a concert instead of spending the night hoping the condom you and Rick are using doesn't have a hole in it."

"KYLE...That is not what were doing."

"Whatever....So what time and where is it?"

"It's in Oakland at 7:30"

"Oakland...at the Arena?"

"Yeah"

"Ah man...down 17 in rush hour traffic...damn we're going to have to leave like at 5."

"If not earlier."

"Well it's 11 now, my hair cut appointment is at noon. If I leave here about 4, I'll get to your house about 4:45 so tell her to be ready."

"Yeah, they both will be ready."

"Ok I'll talk to you then."

"Ok, bye"

"Bye"

Luckily I had taken the whole week off, I kinda wanted to start my Christmas shopping early this year. But who was I kiddin, I'm MR. PROCRASTINATOR. I probably wouldn't start until the week before Christmas. I jumped in the shower and headed out to get my hair cut.

After returning, I just kicked back and relaxed until 3:00. I jumped in the shower again and then got dressed and was about to head out when...

RING....RING

"Hello"

"Hi Baby."

"Hi Jen, on break?"

"Yeah, thought I'd call to make sure we still where on for tonight."

"Oh shit, Hon, I totally forgot"

"Really, why what's up"

"Well, I kinda told Kellie I would take her to a concert tonight, I'm on my way out now."

"Ok, but tomorrow night you're mine."

"Thanks for understanding Hon, I do have to go to Sacramento tomorrow morning. But I'll be back about 6 then I'm all yours.."

"Hey, I know how you are with family. They're important to you and I will never stand in the way of family. So, you going to see Jason tomorrow."

"Yeah, I want to see him before Christmas and this will probably be the only chance to get together. He's only on the west coast a few times a year and I really miss him"

"Should I be jealous?"

"Shut up...he has a boyfriend and ya know something else....I'M NOT GAY... But, if you start acting like this, ya never know..."

"Ok...Ok I know he's been your best friend forever and that's it. I know for a fact that you are not gay and even if Jason was a "female" supermodel, I would trust you."

"I know you do, I love you Hon"

"I love you too. Well got to go. Enjoy your time with Kell. Give me a call tonight if it's not too late or tomorrow at work. Ok.

"I will"

"Love you"

"Love you too."

Shit it totally slipped my mind. I was suppose to take Jen out tonight for dinner to celebrate her promotion at work. I can't believe I forgot. But she is alway so understanding of my memory losses. That is one of the reasons I love her so much. This was actually the longest relationship I have ever been in...4 months. I just can't beleive how lucky I am to have her in my life.

At about 4, I left the house and headed to my sister's house in Milpitas. I took the freeway downtown, then took the back roads to her house. I was going to be stuck in traffic soon enough, I didn't need it head over there. Too bad I don't know the backroads to Oakland. But I guess living in Silicon Valley, you get used to traffic. I was born and raised in San Jose and I love it. I don't know if I could live anywhere else. The weathers here is great, unfortunately, today it was getting cloudy and it looked like rain.

I got to my sister's house and walked up to the door, before I could reach for the door knob, the door swung open and Kellie and Jesse were running out the door ready to go.

"Hey, calm down, don't I even get a Hi"

"Hi, Uncle Kyle" they both said together.

"Ok now stop with the Uncle crap, you know how I hate that."

"Oh act you age, you're her uncle so let her call you uncle." My sister said coming out the door and kissing me on the cheek.

"Give me a break, I'm only ten years older than her, hell I've dated people ten years older than me. It's not that much of a difference."

"And twelve is..."

"Yeah, but you look reeeealy old." I said running away before she could hit me. But I didn't move fast enough.

"Owe, for a old broad you move pretty fast."

"Shut up and get in the car before you have two whinning thirteen year olds on your hands."

"Ok, see you later tonight."

"Have fun."

"Yeah, right"

As soon as we got to the on ramp to Highway 17, you could see it...bumper to bumper. It was going to be a long drive.

"Unc.....uh Ky"

"Yeah sweety"

"Can I put in a CD."

"Yeah go ahead, but I'm telling you now if it's those Backstreet Boys, your CD will be a fresbee flying across the highway."

"NOOO its not them."

"Oh is it Instinct"

"UNCLE KYLE"

"Ok is it NSYNC then"

"Yeah" as she popped it into the player.

As the first song came on, I recognized it but didn't really care for it. I got to hear it anyways with the two girls singing loudly along with it. It went on like that all the way through the CD. I knew some of the songs like "God Must Have Spent a Little More Time on You" and "I Drive Myself Crazy". I hear those at work on the looped music they play at the office. When the CD had gotten to one of the songs, Kellie reached over and skipped it.

"Hey, that song sounds familiar, let me hear it" I said as I reach over and hit the Back button.

It started to play, and I said "Hey I know this song, it was sung by a group that grandpa listened to way back when. It's by....Uh....Bread."

For some crazy reason, I remembered this song that my father used to play on his old 8 track in his 67 chevy. I must admit, they sounded alot better than I remember Bread sounding back then.

"I don't really like that song"

"Me either" added Jesse.

But they let me listen to it anyways.

When it got to the last song, they started to sing and bounce up and down to Giddy up. I was listening to the words and wondering if the meaning of the words was getting past these two. I think they were thinking horses or something. I was enjoying the song but when it came to the end one of them said something. I asked Kellie what was that.

"He said CRUNK"

"What's Crunk?"

"It's Justin's word for Crazy"

"OK, if you say so..." I just thought it totally ruined a pretty jazzy tune.

Kellie started to put in another CD.

"So what's next?" I asked her.

"Oh, it's some MP3's of two of their new songs off the net. They are from the Rosie O'Donnell show from the day before Thanksgiving."

The music started. The first one was a song called Bye, Bye, Bye and the other was called Promises. They were really good songs. All they got out of them was "Doesn't Justin sound soooo good."

"I can't wait to see him."

"He so hot"

"I love his hair, it sooo curly"

"He's sooo sexy."

"Are you sure you two are just thirteen?"

All I got were two evil stares.

"Sorrrry"

"Ky, how old are you anyways?"

"23, why Jesse"

"Did you know you are the same age as JC."

"Yeah, you were born in the same month too." Added Kellie.

"When's your birthday, Ky?"

"August 23rd"

"Are you a Leo too"

"No Jesse, I'm a Virgo"

"Oh, cause JC is a Leo, he was born on August 8th..."

"Thanks for the info Jesse, I'm sure it will come in handy" I laughed a little at her. She just ignored me.

"Hey Kell, guess who I'm going to see tomorrow?"

"Who"

"My friend Jason."

Kellie's and Jesse's eyes got really big. I had given Kellie a poster of Jason posed in his Kelvin Kliens and Jason had signed it "Kellie, with all my love Jason". She has it hanging on her wall and she is the envy of all her friends.

"Tell him I said Hi."

"Me too."

Kellie was digging around in her backpack and pulled out a paper and handed it me. I opened it and looked at it. I almost swerved off the road due to shock. Not the shock of looking at a picture of my friend totally nude, but of the fact that my thirteen year old niece is walking around with a nude picture of my friend.

"Kell, where did you get this from?"

"On the Web."

"You better hope your parents don't find out or you'll be grounded off that computer of yours until your 21 and they'll kill me for buying it for you."

I looked at the picture closer and smiled.

"Kell, sorry to tell you this, but this top part is Jason, but the bottom isn't."

"How do you know?"

Now, it not like I never saw Jason in the nude. He has always been an exhibitionist and has alway been comfortable walking around nude. But I didn't even need to have seen him nude before to tell it wasn't him.

"Kell, Jason has a tattoo of a chiness symbol for love on his pelvis and as you can see this picture does not have it."

What I didn't mention is the picture showed Jason as being uncut and Jason was cut. And plus, Jason was a little more well endowed then the picture.

"Oh well, it's a nice picture anyways."

She tried to take it back, but I placed it in my shirt pocket.

"I think I'll be keeping that, thank you."

I just couldn't wait to show Jason that pictures of him are on the web. Knowing him, he will go out and get actual pictures taken to post, if he hadn't already.

The conversation turned back to Justin and from then until we got to the arena all I got to hear was Justin this and Justin that.

I was kinda glad when the arena came into sight. We got there at 6:30 and parked the car. The walk to the entrance was nice and slow. A line of girls ranging from the age of 8 to my age with parents in tow. I kinda felt out of place, but did see a few guys my age being dragged around by thier girlfriend. I guess it would have been cool if Jen was here with me, but she is more into groups like Korn and Rage Against the Machine. Types of music don't matter to me, I listen to almost all types. Except the Backstreet Boys and all Christian rock. They make my skin crawl.

I amazed at the line of people. I'm just glad when I come to watch the Warriors lose, the line are not this long.

We finally got inside and we stood in another line so I could buy the girls some souvenirs.

Then we went to find our seats. They were pretty good seats. If only I had seat like this to watch basketball. The stage was at one end of the court, we were on the other two rows up. The seats infront of Kellie and I were empty. There was a little stage to our left in front of us with cameras and a couch on it. It blocked the view of the seat to my right, so that one was empty too. Arm and feet room, perfect. There was a women and a young man sitting on the couch and a older gentleman sitting on a seat next to the couch. I was informed that that was JC's mom and brother and Joey's father. I just sat there looking at the two, thinking to myself that when I go to a concert I wouldn't have the foggiest idea what the family of the group members looked like, let alone their names.

We sat there listening to them blare Phil Collins over the speaker system, which I didn't mind cause I enjoyed his music. At about 7:25 someone came onto the stage.

"Oh my god, that's Joey's brother"

They were all excited about seeing someones brother. I don't think I would get all excited seeing Shirley Manson's sister come on stage before a Garbage concert.

They introduce one of the opening bands, I forgot their name but they were 2 boys and 2 girls from Sweden singing and prancing on stage. When I heard them sing, I had ABBA flash backs. My sister used to torture use with her ABBA music. A song later, they started to belt out ABBA tunes. Ok, I forgot ABBA on my list of music that I can't stand and you can add another group onto to it. After the torture ended, everyone was clapping, I just sat there with a blank look on my face thinking what did I get myself into.

The next opening band was a group called Wild Orchid. They said they were from a TV show??? Whatever. They were OK. They got a rise out of the audience by telling everyone that the next song was written by JC of NSYNC. I think if they said that and just stood up there singing "Doe..Ray..Me" they would have got a similar response. It seem that whenever someone holding a mic as the word NSYNC the noise got deafening. I was feeling real old and was thinking I should have brought earplugs. After they left the stage, there was a breif intermission.

Then the lights when out and the TV screen came on with this Mission Impossible like show. It was WAY LOUD. My ear drums were pounding. Then the group came down from the top of the stage on ropes. When the audience saw them it was deafening, I actually had to cover my ears. I'm sorry, but I've gone to concerts before, but this was loud, loud, loud. I must admit that the show a great. Loud but great. Actually, it was like a Vegas show. I can't say that I cared for their 60"s, 70's and 80's retro,

but I really enjoyed the show. I actually just sat there watching the audience more, and my niece and her friend wide eyed and near hysteria.

Beyond hysteria happened during God Must Have...when the guys soared above the audience and Justin was heading towards us. My right ear got to hear the loudest screams I've ever heard. Actually Justin was more to our right. Right in front of us was JC. I think I was the only one sitting down during this part and kinda stuck out a little. I looked up and I don't know, but it looked like I had caught his eye and he kinda gave he a wierd stare. But just then, one of the stage light shinned right into our section and blinded me. I was now half blind and my ears were ringing...I must be getting old.

The concert ended and we headed out. All the way home, my ears were ringing but they got no rest. The girls kept screaming, singing and talking about how gorgeous Justin was...how great the show was...How great they danced... etc...etc...etc.

I was dead tired, but these two Energizer bunnies kept going and going all the way home. I dropped Jesse off at her house and then took Kellie home.

"Thanks for taking us tonight Ky, your the best uncle there is. You're way cool." Kellie said as she kissed me on the cheek and exited the car. I waved to Shelly and Rick and then left.

When I got home I checked my messages. There was one.

"Hey Ky, it's 8pm. I just got into Sac. I'm staying at the Double Tree Hotel on Point West Way. I'll meet you in the lobby at 11am. See ya then.

I kicked off my shoes and sat down and called jen.

"Hello"

"Hi, did I wake you"

"Na, just heading to bed though"

"What did you say, I'm sorry my ears are ringing still. The concert was way too loud."

"I just think your getting old."

"Yeah, you may be right there."

"So, how was your first boy-band concert. I think Jason will be jealous of you.

I'm sure he has an eye for at least one of those boys."

"Boys, I was informed today that one of them is about 15 days older than me. But, yeah knowing Jay like I do, I'm sure he probably has the same taste as Kell."

"So, where are you taking me tomorrow night."

"What, Sorry my ears are still ringing"

"Yeah right"

"It's a surprise"

"You don't have a clue, do you?"

"Damn, you know me too well. Where do you want to go?"

"Oh no you don't. You said it's a surprise, so surprise me."

"Ok, Ok...Sorry but I need to hit the sack. I'm dead tired."

"Yeah, me too. I'll see you tomorrow and I expect to be surprised."

"Ha, Ha... Love ya"

Love ya too"

I hung up the phone and headed to take a shower. Then off to bed.
