We Have Heard On High =====================**

Angel We Have Heard On High 1x01
--{: I Am Angel :}--

      "David?!" a female voice screamed.
It belonged to a short and stout woman wearing a yellow skirt with spots on it and black shoes.
She was scanning the surroundings of her house, a pretty shabby neighbourhood. The house whose front door she was standing in front of was small and painted white and its yard was a mess. The grass was three feet tall and broken toys and trash was lying everywhere.
Meanwhile, a young pre-adolescent boy was hiding behind the house's white picket fence, whose color had began to fade. He was eleven of age and pretty tall and lanky for it. He had sandy blonde hair and a round face with freckles on it. His eyes were sky blue and his mouth was wide. He was wearing a light blue shirt and a pair of black shorts. On his feet were a pair of Adidas that had several holes in them.
He cowered behind the fence and shook each time he heard something from the woman.
"David!" the woman screamed. "If you don't get your skinny butt in here right now, your father is going to give you a long spanking!"
The boy continued to hide. He knew very well that he would be spanked anyway, even if he did go back home.
"I'll just hide until she goes away and then go home to Robin..." he thought as tears began trickling down his face.
The woman continued scanning her surroundings for a while before re-entering the house and slamming the door behind her.
Meanwhile, behind the window of the attic stood another boy, this one with jet black hair and steely blue eyes. His hair was long and covered his eyes. He was wearing a deep red shirt and a pair of black slacks. He looked slightly older than the blonde boy, twelve of age, and taller, too. He was staring right at the little boy hiding behind the fence.
"David, please get in here," he thought. "You will only make it worse."

(Opening Theme plays)

Madonna - Like A Prayer

"Life is a mystery, everyone must stand alone,
I hear you call my name and it feels like home,"

"When you call my name, it's like a little prayer,
I'm down on my knees, I wanna take you there,
In the midnight hour, I can feel your power,
Just like a prayer, you know I'll take you there,"

"I hear your voice, it's like an Angel sighing,
I have no choice, I hear your voice,"
Chorus: "Feels like flying,"
"I close my eyes, oh God, I think I'm falling,
Out of the sky, I close my eyes,"
Chorus: "Heaven help me,"

"When you call my name, it's like a little prayer,
I'm down on my knees, I wanna take you there,
In the midnight hour, I can feel your power,
Just like a prayer, you know I'll take you there,"

"David?" the black-haired boy whispered as he crept around the white house brandishing a small pocket light.
His head shot from side to side as he looked for David, taking in as much as he could despite of that it was night and pitch black.
"Derek?" a voice came from behind a trash can.
Derek rushed over to the trash can and found David hiding behind it, his clothes filthy from trash that had fallen out of the can and his face wet with tears.
"Why did you run away again?" Derek asked him. "This will only make him even angrier."
"I... I..." David searched for the correct words for a while before giving up. "He spanked me again."
"We have to stick together," Derek said. "I promised to take care of you for as long as we live a long time ago and I intend to keep that promise."
"I know." David said and smiled weakly.
Derek picked David up in his arms, which was pretty troublesome since both boys were about equal in length, and then silently carried him into the house.
In the back of their minds, both boys knew that David was going to recieve a spanking the next day.

"David?" the boys' mother called out as she scanned her yard. "Get in here right now! It's dinnertime!"
Meanwhile, David was hiding behind the picket fence again, this time older. He was now thirteen and was wearing all white, a white shirt and a pair of white slacks. His hair was now cut short and spiky and his freckles had disappeared.
"I won't get back in, you bitch!" he thought as he tried his best to not be visible from the house.
Meanwhile, standing behind the attic's window, was Derek, staring at David.
"Not again," he thought. "Dad will be so mad."
He was now fourteen of age and also his hair was shorter, but not as short as David's. He was wearing a white shirt and a pair of black slacks and around his neck hung a silver chain.
"Please, get back in here before dad comes for you." he thought as he stared at David.
Suddenly, David got up and started running. His mother spotted him and shouted for him to get back, but he ignored her and ran, his eyes tearing up and his lower lip trembling.
"Angel?!" Derek exclaimed.

David leaned back against an oak tree in the middle of a big forest and started crying openly. He then hunched forward so that his head was down by his knees as he sat in the damp grass, now only slightly sniffling. Still, there were large amounts of tears hitting the ground.
Suddenly, the sound of a bicycle stopping could be heard, followed by footsteps.
"Hello?" a voice called out and David could feel someone standing beside him.
He looked up and there stood a boy Derek's age, his hair pale blonde and his eyes deep blue, which was an odd combination. He was wearing a green shirt and a pair of white slacks.
"Why are you crying?" he wondered.
"Leave me alone!" David snarled and the boy starred at him. "Please?"
"My mother says that you shouldn't be alone when you're sad or upset," the strange boy told David, talking as if they had known each other for ages. "You could do stupid things like hurt yourself or something."
David remained silent.
"My name's Richard." the boy suddenly introduced himself and crudely grabbed David's hand and shook it.
David remained silent for a while before suddenly standing up and pushing Richard to the ground. He then just starred at Richard as he laid there, staring at David.
"Oh my God!" David suddenly said and his eyes widened in realization.
He hurriedly bent down and helped Richard up and then brushed the dirt off of his clothes, although the dampness due to a recent shower of rain had soiled Richard's pants and made them quite dirty.
"Sorry for that." David apologized and Richard smiled widely.
"Feeling better?" he asked David.
"A little," David said and then panicked. "Not from the pushing-you-part, though. From the you-not-pushing-me-back-while-screaming-part."
"It's cool," Richard said and smiled widely.
"By the way, my name's David." David said.
"So, why are you crying?" Richard wondered.
"I..." David started out but then quieted down.
He looked around in panic and then stared at the ground before Richard's feet, noticing his shiny new Nikes.
"My dad hit me." he finally said after a long moment of hesitation.
"Oh, I'm so..." Richard started when a voice interrupted them.
"David!" Derek shouted as he ran up to the two. "I've been looking everywhere for you! Dad went ballistics and threatened to beat you to death if you didn't come back home immediately!"
"I'll just skaddaddle." Richard said and walked to his bike. "Nice to meet you, blondie and blacky."
With that said, he bicycled off, waving to David with David waving back.
"Who was that?" Derek asked David.
David opened his mouth to speak, but was interrupted by Derek. "What the hell were you thinking, running away like that again?!"
"I..." David said quietly and then fell into Derek's arms, soiling his clothes, too.
David started crying on Derek's shoulder, wetting his shirt and hugging him tightly, with Derek hugging him back.
"David?" Derek wondered.
"He... he... he touched me..." David sobbed.
"He what?" Derek asked, his eyes widened in realization.
"He touched me down there," David weapt. "And then unzipped his own pants and took... took it out..."
"Oh my God!" Derek exclaimed and his eyes widened even more. "Did he make you touch it?"
"I saw that he was going to," David sobbed. "So I ran. I ran out of the house and hid behind the fence until mom left. Then I ran and ran and ran and didn't look back."
"Oh God..." Derek said quietly.
David's sobbing had stopped now. But tears were still running down his face. It felt as if they would never end.
"Can we go somewhere?" he asked Derek timidly. "Anywhere but home? I need clothes, though. Mine are wet all over."
"So are mine..." Derek said quietly.
This would normally cause both of them to burst out laughing, but there was a tension in the air at the moment and both boys stayed quiet for a long time.
"Let's go to Robin's." Derek finally broke the silence.

      "Are you serious?!" Robin exclaimed.
He and Derek were sitting on his bed as David showered in the bathroom down the hall, washing himself very thouroughly, so thoroughly that his skin had began to aquire a red shade.
"Yes..." Derek said quietly and looked down at the floor.
They were both facing the room as the bed was pushed into one corner. Right opposite to the bed was a small oak desk with a computer on it. The computer was old, but still working and it also had a printer attached to it. On the desk was also a keyboard, a desk lamp and two school books marked "Math for 9th graders" and "Advanced English. Right next to the desk was a wooden chair and a backpack.
Next to the desk was a TV and a stereo on a tripod and on the floor in front of the TV was a SNES console. There were pictures of various band like The Cranberries and The Rembrandts on the wall and scattered all over the floor was various items of clothing.
Derek then looked back at Robin and was filled with a strange sensation that reached all the way down to his loins. He noticed again how cute he found Robin with his slightly curly blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. Plus, he was wearing a very tight white shirt and a pair of short white shorts. On his feet were a pair of white socks and around his wrist was a silver wrist watch. Derek blushed slightly and looked away again.
In that exact same moment, David walked in, wearing nothing but a white towel around his waist.
"Could I borrow from clothes off of you?" he asked Robin, who nodded.
David then went over to a closet near Robin's bed and took out a loose pair of grey jogging pants and a black shirt and put them on. He then joined Robin and Derek on the bed and laid down with his head in Derek's lap.
"Did you tell him?" he asked Derek.
"Yes." Derek said quietly.
"Good," David said and then sat up and looked straight at Robin. "Could we please stay here for a while? Until we've figured out how to get out of there?"
"Of course," Robin said. "For as long as you want."
"What if we have to stay here forever?" David wondered and Robin chuckled.
His smile faded when he looked David in the eyes and saw that he was dead serious.
"I guess that would be just fine." Robin said quietly.
"Is it okay with your parents?" Derek wondered.
"Of course it is," Robin said. "Even if it is forever."
"What about money?" David wondered. "We ain't got any and we sure as Hell aren't going to get any from our parents."
"Oh, we're rich," Robin chuckled. "Well not rich, but well off. We could 'borrow' you the money."
"That could work," David said naively. "When will we have to pay it back?"
"How 'bout in up to twenty years?" Robin wondered.
"Sure," David said. "I promise to pay you back."
"David..." Derek said quietly.
"I'm thinking of changed my name, too," David said.
"Huh?" Derek asked.
"Not legally," David said. "I'll just tell people to call me it."
"Call you what?" Robin wondered.
"Angel," David said quietly.

"Angel?" Derek asked and put a hand on Angel's shoulder.
"Oh, sorry, did I zone out again?" Angel asked.
The two boys were now slightly older, Angel fourteen and Derek fifteen. They were wearing identical white shirts, unbuttoned grey shirts over them and black slacks. Angel had dyed his hair red and Derek had dyed his hair light blue.
They were sitting in the very back of a schoolbus filled with kids all talking to someone except for an Asian boy sitting alone in a twoseat seat.
"Kinda." Derek said and smiled at Angel.
"Just reminiscing." Angel sighed.
"About what?" Derek wondered.
"The stuff that happened back at home..." Angel said quietly.
"Don't..." Angel said. "Let's just not. Come on. We're making a fresh start."
"I know..." Angel said quietly. "I just... I can't just brush it aside and pretend that it never happened. It happened for three years."
"You've never told me this before." Derek said.
"I know," Angel said and then noticed the Asian boy. "I just... it was..."
"You don't have to." Derek said and patted Angel's head.
"But I want to," Angel said. "I need to."
"Alright, but not here." Derek said.
"Ok," Angel said. "At lunch then?"
"Fine." Derek said and smiled widely.

"It started out 'innocently'..." Angel started telling Derek as the two sat on a secluded bench on campus. All of the other kids were off on another end watching a fight as Derek and Angel talked, Derek's left arm around Angel's back.
"Go slow if you feel like it." Derek told Angel.
"He... he went into the bathroom while I was showering," Angel said quietly. "And just stood there, staring at me for a while before leaving. And then he started coming into my room at night, patting me on my legs and then sometimes on my butt if I was lying on my stomach."
"That creep..." Derek thought bitterly.
"And then he started touching me..." Angel said quietly. "That didn't happen until the first day that I ran away. It took him an entire year to get up enough nerve to do that. I panicked and ran out of the house and then mom came."
"Go on..." Derek said quietly, anxious to know more in order to hate his father even more than he already did.
"Then, the day that I ran away for good, he came into my room while I was changing," Angel continued. "He pinched my butt several times while I had my pants down and then touched me on my... my..."
"Let's call it 'monkey'." Derek suggested.
"My monkey," Angel said couldn't help but chuckle quietly. "He then unzipped his pants and forced me to touch it."
"Oh my God!" Derek exclaimed. "Then you lied to me when you...?"
"I didn't want you to consider me disgusting." Angel said quietly.
"I could never do that," Derek said. "I love you with all my heart."
"Should I continue?" Angel asked Derek quietly and looked into his eyes, seeing nothing but love and compassion.
"Only if you want to." Derek said.
"Well... he then made me jack him off and started forcing my head downwards, towards it..." Angel continued quietly. "That's when I ran. That's why I ran. He had never gone that far. He had made me jack him off before. But not... suck on it..."
"That bastard..." Derek mumbled.
"Thank you for saving me." Angel whispered to Derek and laid down with his head in Derek's lap again.
A long silence followed and the two boys watched the fight as it ended with Richard winning over a smaller boy about Angel's age. Derek could read "Fag" off of Richard's lips before he looked down at Angel.
"Er... Angel?" Derek asked quietly.
"Yeah?" Angel wondered.
"Does this mean that you hate all gay people?" Derek asked Angel with a sligtly trembling voice.
"Of course not," Angel chuckled. "I only hate our parents. And some other people, but not gay people in general."
"Angel?" Derek asked again.
"Yah?" Angel wondered.
"I have a confession to make..." Derek said quietly.
"That you're gay?" Angel chuckled and Derek froze. "I've known that for ages!"
"Since when?!" Derek exclaimed
"Since I saw certain pictures in your folder on Robin's and your computer.
"You went through my files?!" Derek exclaimed.
"Yes and it was very interesting," Angel chuckled. "I had no idea of how many positions you could actally do it in."
"Oh my God!" Derek exclaimed.
"But it's fine with me." Angel chuckled.
"Are you sure?" Derek wondered.
"Totally," Angel said. "I was just wondering when you'd get up enough guts to tell me. But now, there is a problem that we have to deal with."
"What?" Derek wondered.
"When are you going to get a boyfriend?" Angel teased and Derek messed Angel's hair up.
"Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!" Angel laughed. "Derek and his boyfriend, sitting in a tree, K I S S I N G."
Suddenly, the Asian boy that Angel had spotted on he bus on the way to school approached them.
"Hi." he said and smiled at them.
He was wearing a white tanktop that clung to his body and a pair of black slacks. On his neck rested two necklaces, both in silver, one with pentagram hanging on it and another with an ankh hanging on it. His hair was dyed deep brown. He was only as tall as Angel though he looked to be as old as Derek.
"Er... hi." Angel said a bit unsure.
"This might be a bit rude, but could I hang out with you?" the boy asked the two. "'Cause, I'm new and as far as I can tell, most of the other guys at this school are either asocial, which I pretty much am, or likes watching fights, which the big crowd around those two guys that were fighting a little earlier can attest to."
The three looked over to where Richard and another boy had been fighting and there was almost no one there anymore.
"Yeah, that's pretty much it," Angel chuckled.
"The name's Philip." the boy introduced himself and shook Angel's hand and then Derek's.
"I'm Angel and the big dope here is my big brother Derek." Angel chuckled.
"Figured," Philip chuckled. "By the way the two of you were holding each other. You were either brothers of boyfriends."
Derek chuckled nervously and Angel just grinned at Derek knowingly.
"What?" Philip wondered. "Was is something I said?"
"Let's go," Derek said and stood up and dragged Angel to his feet. "We should show you around school, this being the beginning of the term and all."
"Good idea." Philip chuckled.
The two set off and ran straight into a girl with pale blonde hair that ran down her shoulder in curls. She had green eyes and was wearing a black top and a pair of light blue pants.
"Oh, hi, Julia," Angel chuckled. "Fancy running into you."
"Who's the new guy?" Julia wondered.
"Oh, his name is Philip," Derek said. "We're just showing him around school."
"I'm in a hurry so, I'll see you three later, ok?" Julia said and the three boys nodded.
"Nice to meet you!" Julia shouted to Philip as she ran out ofthere.
"Ah, nice old Julia." Derek sighed.
"Weird old Julia." Angel chuckled and Derek smacked him upside the head.
"Let's go check the cafeteria out now." Derek chuckled.
"Oh, brother... er brothers." Philip sighed and Derek and Angel glared at him.
"What was that?" Angel asked him.
"Er... I was just saying 'Bollocks, hope the cafeteria's food isn't as bad as my previous school's." Philip chuckled sheepishly and all three of them burst out laughing.
"You're lucky my brother's half-deaf." Derek chuckled and Angel glared at him.
"What did you say?!" he exclaimed in mock anger.
"Oh, brothers." Philip groaned and all three of them started laughing again.

Angel: Next week on Angel.

*Derek and Angel in the school cafeteria*
Derek: We have to do this.
Angel I know...
Derek: He has to pay.
Angel: She knew...
Derek: She knew?!
*Angel standing on the ledge of his bedroom window dressed in only a white shirt and a pair of boxers*
*Angel jumping*
Philip: Angel, there's something that you should know about me. I'm gay.
Angel: You are? Well, duh!
*Philip smacking Angel upside the head*
Philip: Look at the cute boy. Get the cute boy.
Derek: Aha...

Angel: To be out on Nifty in two weeks time.
