Never Too Much Chapter 0

"What's the deal Nick, you are not concentrating. I think you need to redo those vocals." Brian stated, speaking over the loudspeaker in the room.

"Look Bri, my mind is on other things. I am really not feeling this right now." Nick spoke, getting off the stool and walking towards the door.

"Come on Nick, all we need to do is lay down your vocals for this track and we can leave for the rest of the week." Brian stated.

"Damnit Brian I am not feeling this right now. I can't do it." Nick stated, walking out of the recording booth.

"What's up with him?" Kevin asked, walking into the room at the end of the little scene.

"I don't know what to think about what's wrong with Nick nowadays. Ever since he broke up with Chris he's been acting strange." Brian stated.

"Where is Mr. Demetral lately?" Kevin asked.

"The last I heard, he was dating Jonathan Brandis, but I don't know, that was a few weeks back that I saw them together." Brian stated.

"I don't know what the hell I was thinking when I set those two up. Everyone told me that Chris Demetral was a slut and I didn't want to believe any of it. Now look at Nick, he's heartbroken and it's all my fault." Kevin stated.

"You can't blame yourself for that Kevin." Brian stated.

"Well you say that but Kristin reminds me every time that she sees Nick's face that it was my fault, it was my fault for setting those two up together." Kevin stated, sitting down on the sofa that was in the hallway.

"Well all I can say right now is that we give Nick some time, it's only been a few months since they broke up." Brian stated as his phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Hey babe what's up?" Brian heard the voice of his fiancé, Leighanne Wallace.

"I guess nothing now." Brian stated.

"Is something wrong?" Leighanne asked.

"Just Nick getting upset and walking out on us again." Brian stated, getting up and walking down the hall.

"So that means he's upset about Chris again?" Leighanne asked.

"Yeah, and right now I don't know what to do to help my best friend out." Brian stated, walking through the door, heading to his car.

"Well baby just give it time, he will get back to normal."

--- Justin and JC's House ---

Justin walked into the home that he and JC had shared for the last two years now. It seemed that things he did in everyday life was getting tedious. Flopping down in his favorite chair in the entertainment room, he turns on the television. Flipping the channels idly, Justin sits there staring off into space as JC walked into the room with him.

"Yo Justin. Earth to Justin. Anyone home?" JC asked, tapping Justin on the forehead, startling Justin out of his trance. "Are you okay Curly?"

"Yeah I'm okay, just thinking about some stuff." Justin stated, getting out of his seat and walking over to the DVD Cabinet.

"I hope you were not thinking about Zach again, it's been six months already. When are you going to get over him?" JC asked.

"Josh I loved him, it's hard to get over someone you love." Justin stated, picking a movie, then dropping it to the floor as his tears overtook him.

"I'm sorry Curly, I shouldn't have said anything." JC stated, walking over to Justin and wrapping him up in his arms.

"It's okay Josh, I just need to find a way to get over him." Justin spoke, wiping his eyes as JC kissed him on his forehead.

"You are going to be okay Justin, you just need to find someone that loves you." JC stated, bending down to pick up the DVD. "We need to set you up with someone."

"I am not in the mood for you setting me up on blind dates again Josh, remember what happened the last time." Justin spoke, walking over to the small refrigerator that was in the room. "Do you want anything?"

"Bring me a Dew if there is one in there." JC spoke, inserting a DVD into the player, walking over to where he was going to be seated.

"Alright." Justin said, grabbing the drinks and some chips, heading back over to his seat.

"Well I have to do something to get you out of this slump. I can't stand to see you hurt like this. If I was gay, I would never hurt you the way Zach did." JC stated.

"Well you are not gay, even if you were, I don't think I would be able to date you, you are like a brother to me." Justin stated.

"But still, anything is better than nothing." JC stated. "How about that hot stud down the street from Jive?"

"No Josh, I don't want to be set up." Justin stated, popping the top of his soda. "Besides that would only cause trouble."

"Why would that cause trouble?" JC asked.

"He's out and I am not. We don't need that kind of attention. I can see it now. `Newsflash – Justin Timberlake seen tongue wrestling with a hottie down the street from Jive. News at 11.' Oh yeah, just what I need." Justin stated.

"Oh, okay so maybe someone that is in the industry then?" JC asked.

"No Josh, I am just going to stay single for a while. I need to get over him in my own time." Justin spoke, lying his head down on the chair cushion.

// 3 Days Later //

"Come on Curly, it's been three days already, come on." JC stated, grabbing Justin by the hand, trying to pull him out of bed.

"No Josh, I am just going to stay here. I don't want to go. Just tell the guys I don't feel well." Justin stated.

"Tell us what? That you are still hung up on some jerk that dumped you, cheated on you and then had the audacity to tell you that it was your fault that you guys were not working out!" Joey spoke out loud, walking into the room.

"Just let it go Joe, I just want to stay here." Justin spoke.

"You know what Josh, leave him here." Joey spoke, walking back towards the door. "Let's go. Let him wallow in his misery."

--- The Next Afternoon, A Conference Room at Jive ---

"What can we do about Justin?" Joey asked, pacing back and forth. "This is starting to effect everything we do."

"Yeah I know, but he's heartbroken." JC stated. "You acted the same way when Kelly left you that time."

"Yeah I know, but I got over it and then me and Kelly got back together." Joey stated, smiling, thinking about the day that he and Kelly got back together. "But we don't want Justin getting back together with Zach, the boy is a bad influence."

"Yeah, but it wasn't Zach's fault alone, we were to blame and his friends were to blame for the things he did." JC stated.

"Josh we didn't make him cheat on Justin." Chris spoke, standing up now.

"No we didn't, but if it wasn't for our attitude towards him, he and Justin wouldn't have had as many problems they had." JC stated.

"Look Josh, we didn't tell Zach to go sleep with those men. I remember you telling him to stop playing with Justin's heart." Lance stated.

"Yeah and look how well that went." JC stated, walking around the table. "I asked him did he wanted to be set up with someone and he said no."

"Of course he's going to say no." Lance stated. "We have to do something and hook him up with someone and hope they hit it off."

"But who? Who in the industry that we know is gay and single and possible like Justin?" JC asked.

"Ohhhh, I know." Chris stated.

"Who is it Chris?" Joey asked. "I am not going to date Justin."

"Okay never mind." Chris stated laughing.

"Nick Carter." Lance stated.

"Nick Carter?" JC asked, looking at Lance strangely.

"Yeah Nick Carter. He's gay and I think he's still single." Lance stated.

"How do you know that?" JC asked.

"I own a management company and you know people talk around in the

industry." Lance stated.

"Nick's cute." JC stated, sitting back down in his chair. "So how are we going to get these two together, depending on rather or not Nick is gay and single?"

"How else, have them meet at a restaurant and have dinner or something." Joey stated.

"No, we can't do that. What if Nick isn't gay and single? We need to do something that involves a lot of people just in case there is a need for us to help him." JC stated.

"A cookout?" Joey suggested.

"Too cozy." Lance stated.

"Beach party?" JC stated.

"No too public." Lance stated.

"I know, how about a House Party?" Chris stated, jumping up from his seat. "We can invite a whole lot of people to one of our houses and have those two bump into each other."

"You know what, that sounds like a good idea." Lance stated. "I can't believe this, Chris actually has a good idea. Please God, don't let hell freeze over now."

"Oh ha ha ha." Chris stated, as the guys all laughed at him.

"Well it is a good idea. Let's do it." JC stated as everyone looked at him strangely, then bursting out laughing too. "Oh you know what I mean."

--- Two Weeks Later, Justin and JC's House ---

"How are the plans going?" Joey asked, walking into JC's room.

"So far the word spread to a whole lot of people, hell the guys of Backstreet are even coming." JC stated, high fiving Joey. "This is so going to work."

"I hope so. I want the old Justin back, I don't like this new him." Joey stated as his cell phone started beeping. "Hello?"

"Is this Joey Fatone?" Joey heard on the phone.

"Yeah who is this?" Joey asked.

"Hey, Kevin of Backstreet, what's up?" Kevin asked.

"Hey Kevin, nothing's up." Joey spoke, looking at his phone and pointing at it.

"Ask him is there something wrong." JC spoke.

"Kevin is there something wrong?" Joey asked.

"No not at all. I was just calling to make sure that the party for tonight was still on." Kevin stated.

"Yeah the party is still on, starts around nine and we don't know when it will end." Joey stated.

"Cool, so me and the guys will see you all then." Kevin stated.

"Cool. See you then." Joey stated.

"Bye." Kevin stated, disconnecting the call.

"I guess he wanted to make sure the party was still happening." Joey stated.

"Cool. So is everything ready with everything else?" JC asked, pulling out a notepad and pencil.

"Yeah everything is ready. Don't worry about anything Josh; this is all going to work out. By this time tomorrow, hopefully Justin and Nick will be happily together." Joey spoke.

"How do you know that Joe?" JC asked.

"I know something you don't know." Joey stated.

"What is it? Tell me." JC stated, jumping around like an idiot.

"I know that Nick is gay and he's single." Joey stated.

"Really, great. So all we need to do is get him and Justin together and let the magic flow." JC stated, plotting things to do at the party.

--- Later At The House Party ---

"Wow there are a lot of people here." Lance stated, bumping and grinding with Jacob Underwood from O-Town.

"Yeah there is. Do you want something to drink baby?" Jacob asked, kissing Lance on the cheek quickly.

"Yeah, but let's both go to the kitchen, I want some alone time with you." Lance stated, passing Joey, Chris and JC.

"I would have never thought those two would be together for so long." Joey stated.

"Yeah they are an inspiration to the gay people I guess." Chris stated.

"If I didn't know you better, I could have sworn that sounded like homophobic talk." JC stated.

"Well it wasn't, so there." Chris stated, sticking his tongue out at JC.

"Look there he is." Joey stated, pointing at Nick Carter walking into the room.

"Cool, where's Justin?" JC asked.

"He's over there in the corner, with that sad look on his face." Chris stated, pointing in Justin's direction.

"Here goes nothing." JC stated, walking over to Nick.

"Oh I hope this works. Let me go get Justin and get him moving." Joey stated, leaving Chris standing alone.

"Hi Nick, I'm glad you could make it to our little house party." JC stated, shaking Nick's hand.

"I wouldn't miss a good party for the world." Nick stated.

"Would you like something to drink?" JC asked.

"Sure. I hope you have something stiff and heavy, I really need it." Nick stated, causing JC to cough and spit out his drink as his face turned red, as he blushed.

"JC, man are you okay?" Nick asked as they continued walking in the general direction of where Justin was.

"Yeah I'm okay." JC stated, as he and Nick made it to the kitchen. "Here we are. We have some punch and soda. If you want something heavier than that, there's some JD over there and some other stuff that I can't eve name over there."

"Cool. Thanks man." Nick stated.

"No problem. See you around." JC stated as he walked out of the kitchen signaling to Joey.

"Oh baby, you know I want to eat you up." Lance stated, nibbling on Jacob's neck.

"Baby stop before you embarrass me." Jacob stated, giggling.

"Don't mind me." Nick stated, mixing his drink and walking out of the kitchen with a sad look on his face.

--- 2 Hours Later, Out by the pool ---

"Hey there." Nick stated, walking up behind a guy sitting at the edge of the swimming pool.

"Hi." Justin stated, kicking his feet in the water.

"Bad night?" Nick asked, sitting next to Justin by the pool.

"You could say that." Justin stated.

"Me too." Nick spoke, taking a sip from his drink.

"Why aren't you inside enjoying the party?" Justin asked.

"I am not in the partying mood." Nick spoke. "I just want to curl up in front of a fire and just have someone hold me."

"I wish I had someone to do that." Justin spoke, closing his eyes as his tears fell into the water.

"Why don't you?" Nick asked.

"The bastard cheated on me." Justin spoke. "What about you?"

"The bastard cheated on me." Nick spoke. "This must be some coincidence."

"No, I think this is Josh at his best." Justin spoke, looking back at Nick then looking over to see ten sets of eyes looking back at him. "Did you know we had an audience?"

"Probably Brian, Kevin, Howie and AJ looking to see what I am doing." Nick spoke.

"Yeah them and Josh, Lance, Jacob, Chris, Joey and Kelly." Justin stated. "What's the deal with you?"

"They are worried about me." Nick spoke with a wavering voice.

"Why?" Justin asked.

"I haven't been myself as of late." Nick stated, tears running down his face.

"I guess I am in the same boat." Justin spoke, picking up his towel and wiping his eyes. "I haven't been myself either. They are worried about me because I just couldn't let go."

"Let go?" Nick asked.

"Yeah. The last person I was with, he...he...captured my heart and there's a piece of me that still loves him and there's another piece of me that hates him for what he did to me." Justin spoke, kicking the water.

"Justin it will be okay." Nick stated, draping his arm around Justin's shoulder. "I know we have it bad, but things will look up."

"Maybe they will, maybe they won't. I don't know." Justin stated, lying his head on Nick's shoulder now, still crying.

"We have both been bitten by that thing called love Justin, sometimes it's hard to bounce back, but you never know what will happen." Nick stated, rubbing Justin's arm.

"I don't know Nick." Justin spoke. "It seems like no matter how much you give to someone, it is never enough."

"I do know Justin." Nick spoke. "Even if you give me all your love, even if you give me all your kisses, it would never be too much for me, it would be just enough."

"That's so sweet Nick." Justin stated, leaning over and kissing Nick on the lips. "You're the one, and it's all thanks to this house party that JC started."
