Luke's Secret Art Chapter 6 December 11, 2000 ------------

Disclaimer: You have somehow wandered into a sexually explicit web-site. You have to ask yourself, "Do I feel lucky?" Well do you? Hmmm, I know what you're thinking. You're thinking no one will know. "It's just me and the computer." Ahh, but you wonder, "Do they know I'm here?" That my friend, is the thing you don't know. The thing I don't know is if you can be here. So let me say this; you know. So do the right thing. I will not be responsible for your life, or its choices, I can barely be responsible for my own. Oh and by the way, this is a gay site. Did that matter? All the rights and benefits of this tale are mine. I assure you, this story is fiction; its really not about you. The world is really bigger than you thought.
Words from our author: Hey, my dawgs, wassup? You all ready for the holidays? I'm not, haven't even started my shopping. Matter of fact, I don't have any money. Ain't life a bitch? Thank God for charge cards. I want to thank you all, for your letters over the last few months.
Am I bad? I haven't been writing for a minute. Several people have reminded me, too. Well, here we are again. For many of you, this seems to be your favorite story. At least, that's what you tell me in the letters you write. Thank you all, for making me feel so wanted. Keep the letters coming; I love reading your thoughts. The address is still the same, Justin69SK@aol.com. With that said, let's get on with the story.
We decided on Friendly's for our breakfast. The ride into town was quiet; Travis and I seemed to be engrossed in our thoughts. I noticed the quaint shops and homes along the ride. I also noticed the quaint guy to my left in the Acura with me. His blonde hair sparkled in the morning sunlight, his green eyes so intense as he maneuvered the car through the traffic. I couldn't wait to get my license, only seven more months!
"You're being so quiet. Is everything all right?" my newfound friend was asking, his voice seemed to bounce off the interior of the auto as he spoke, surrounding me.
"Mmhmm," I murmured.
"Hey, could you not talk so much? I can't get a word in edge wise," Travis quipped.
"Mmm."
We both began to laugh once the punch line of Travis's joke sank in.
"I'm sorry. What did you want to talk about?" I asked him, directing my eyes at his beautiful form.
I couldn't help think to myself how handsome he was and how I wanted to taste his lips. I wanted to kiss him deep and long and feel his embrace around my body. I blushed a little. He was so goddamn cute, it was almost a crime. I wondered if I would ever be able to admit my feelings for him.
"I don't know. What were you thinking about?" Travis sounded truly interested, wondering about the blush no doubt.
"I was wondering if I was going to get rye toast or an English muffin with my breakfast," I lied. I could feel the heat in my cheeks rise.
"Really?" Travis asked slyly.
"Yep, yep." I was pretty sure he hadn't bought the thin cover, but I kept my real thoughts to myself.
"I don't even know what I want to eat, let alone what kind of toast to go with it," Travis laughed, reaching his right hand to my left thigh.
I stared thoughtfully down at his soft hand resting on my leg. I felt his warmth and couldn't help becoming a little aroused. I began to notice that he seemed to like touching me. I recalled each time he had touched me since we had begun hanging yesterday. I wondered if he touched everyone as much. Some people are just touchy feely like that. Not that I minded his hand on my leg or anywhere else for that matter.
I finally got the balls to do what I had thought about; I put my hand over his. Travis looked to my face, for what I imagined was a reaction. I sat there looking right back at him, with no real commitment to my feelings displayed.
"You make me feel so comfortable. I can't explain it, but you do," Travis said, with what sounded like a little tension in his voice.
I slipped my hand away and made a show of not noticing anything was tense. Inside, I was afraid I had scared him. I turned my head towards the window. Friendly's was just ahead on the left side of the road. Saved by the bell, I suppose.
As we exited the car, I checked out my companion's ensemble. He was dressed impeccably; all his clothes fit his body nicely, especially those khakis snug around his butt. I, on the other hand, tend to wear my clothes on the baggy side. I do whatever I can to keep from appearing so thin.
"Hey buddy, this is my treat," Travis stated, slapping my shoulder as we waited for a seat.
"Thanks," I answered. Another attribute we can add to his list, generosity.
We sat there in that crowded restaurant, and I was sure I could feel eyes watching me, like we were the center of attention. I wondered if everyone knew something we didn't. I looked around at the other people and noticed they were actually all involved in their own conversations; we were the farthest things from anyone else's thoughts. I guess I was feeling self-conscious or something.
As we sat there eating our meals, I couldn't help take my eyes off Travis. He was sooo cute.
"What? Is my breakfast hanging off my chin?" Travis asked with mock seriousness, causing us to both burst out laughing.
"No. No. I'm just in my own little world. I'm sorry. I don't mean to stare at you," I told him trying to sound light-hearted, trying to hide my feelings.
"I don't mind." Travis confessed.
"What time did you think we should head back to Boston?" I shifted uncomfortably, trying to change the subject.
"Like I said, I'd like to go back to the cabin after we leave here. Just for a little while so we can relax before we head back to reality. I feel like I never want our time alone to end. Is that crazy or what?" Travis bubbled on.
"That's cool. It's not crazy. Why do you ask?" I inquired.
"I don't know. It just seems like a crazy thing to say to another guy," Travis explained softly so no one else could hear.
"I think I know what you mean, and I feel the same way." I held my breath expectantly.
"You mean you think you're crazy?" Travis laughed.
"Well, that, too." I laughed along with him.
We finished the rest of our breakfast with small talk. Travis paid the cashier while I left a tip on the table, and we embarked on a quick journey back to the cabin. The ride back to the cabin was quicker than the ride into town; at least it seemed to be shorter. I never could figure that out, how a ride going back was shorter than the ride going.
As we walked from the car to the cabin, we had a small snowball fight. Actually, Travis threw a snowball at me and hit me square in the face. I threw one back but missed him completely. We both laughed.
"Man, you have terrible aim," Travis joked.
"That depends."
"Oh yeah? On what?" He asked.
"On what I'm aiming at." I grinned mischeviously, as I made another snowball and threw it in his direction. The ball flew right by his head.
Travis tackled me and began to wrestle with me. I couldn't resist letting him pin me to the ground, but then he began tickling me. I couldn't stop laughing and twisting my body beneath his. I felt so attracted to him. I noticed both of us were breathing deeper. He had his green eyes right on my eyes; he was looking deep into mine. He was straddling me, his hands held my shoulders down, and I didn't fight back.
"Man, you're so much fun to be with." Travis announced from atop me.
"I really like being with you, too." I told him.
He gently began to slide off me, but lowered his head before he started to get up, and I could have sworn to God that he brushed his lips against my cheek. A man can dream can't he? No, he did. I know he kissed my cheek. Or did he? I thought he did, but I wasn't going to mention it just in case it was my imagination. He reached down with his hands and pulled me up. When I was erect once again, he pulled my body towards his and definately hugged me. That was not my imagination. I hugged him back.
"Let's get inside so you can change your clothes into something dry." Travis was saying, as he pulled me by my hands into the cabin.
I was so happy my jeans were baggy, because I was tenting the front of them. I noticed what appeared to be a hard-on in Travis's Dockers. It appeared I had the same effect on him, but I wasn't about to say anything.
"Hey, you want me to light a fire or something?" Travis asked, distracting me from his Dockers.
"That would be great; I'm soaked to the bone." I retorted.
"Looks like a bone to me." I thought I heard him say.
"Hmm? What'd ya say?" I nearly stumbled, as I asked.
"Looks like home to me." He said, looking like the cat that had the bird in its proverbial mouth.
"That's what I thought you said." I lied, and couldn't help thinking he was the same as me, and just as scared.
We sat in the cabin for a few hours together on the couch: laughing, talking, and learning about each other. I had this sudden feeling of fear, like ice in my stomach, as if something bad had happened. I couldn't shake it.
"Travis, we should get going. I feel like something bad happened. I need to call my mom." I told him.
"Sure, Luke. No problem. Let's get the stuff in my car." Travis said, collecting our bags.
As we got into the blue car, I glanced back at the cabin. I couldn't help feel it, but I didn't want to leave. I wished I could have stayed there with Travis forever. I noticed the snow in the trees, how it glistened with the mid-morning sun. I looked back to Travis and smiled.
"Not my breakfast again." He moaned jokingly.
"No, you nut!" I laughed.
Travis became serious again. "There's a phone booth just before we get back on the Pike. I'll stop there. I hope you're not busted."
"I just have this nagging feeling." I said.
I felt his hand on my thigh again. I really enjoyed his touch; he made me feel special.
When we stopped at the phone booth, I placed a call to my home.
"Mr. Luke? Where have you been? Mrs. Rogers didn't have the Janson's phone number. She's been trying to reach you all morning! Hold on. Let me get her." Helga fired rapidly, each word running into the one before. With that German accent it was hard to tell if she said Janson or Jenson. If they had the name wrong, it would be my out.
"Luke? Is that you? Luke, you need to get home." I could hear my mom's voice shaking, between what sounded like sobs.
"Is everything okay?" I asked, the fear deepening.
"Oh, Luke, I've been trying to locate a phone number for the Janson's all morning. They're not listed." Mom was frantic.
"Mom, its Jenson, not Janson."
"Luke there's been a terrible accident. You need to get right home."
"Is everything okay?" I repeated.
"Luke, Dear, just come right home." My mother begged me on the phone.
I thought I was an hour and a half away, traffic permitting. What would I say? Think, think. It's amazing how a fifteen year-old can create a believable excuse when pressed.
"Well, that's why I'm calling Mom. You see Travis's car stalled out, we're waiting for a tow truck. It could be a couple hours." I eplained.
"Oh Luke." I could hear Mom begin to cry uncontrollably.
"Mr. Luke, you need to get home as quick as you can." Helga suddenly interrupted. Mom had handed the phone to her.
"Yes, ma'am." I answered bewildered. What the hell had happened? I never heard my mother cry like that before.
I rushed back into the Honda, my face must have shown all my emotions.
"Luke! What is it? Are you in trouble?" Travis asked with concern.
"No, there's been an accident of some kind. My mother wants me home as soon as possible. I told her we were having car trouble."
"An accident? What kind of accident? Is everyone all right?" Travis was asking, but my thoughts were some thousand miles away.
"I don't know."
On the ride back, I couldn't help thinking how when I do bad things, bad things happen. Its like God knows, and he has to remind you. I know that's silly, but all the same, I couldn't help thinking like that.
I could feel Travis's hand on my leg. He seemed to place it there several times on the return trip. I began to realize it made him as comfortable as it made me.
"Luke, do you mind if I go in with you when we get there? I couldn't help not being with you," Travis asked gently.
"No, actually I was hoping you would." I confessed.
"I'm sure its nothing too serious." Travis said in a reassuring voice, probably for both of us to hear .
This ride took longer to get back than the one to leave, quite contrary to my earlier observation. Funny how life is.
It was somewhere around three in the afternoon when we pulled onto my street. We'd have to park in the garage as there was no space in the street. I was a little surprised by the number of cars parked outside, some even double-parked.
We ran from the car to the door. I walked through the threshold and could hear several voices coming from within the house. I wondered what was going on. We never had much company. As I scrambled into the foyer, I noticed most of the commotion was coming from the dining room.
I looked up and saw Helga coming towards me. Her jet-black hair seemed disshelved. She looked as if she hadn't changed her uniform since I left. This was quite unusual for our housekeeper. Normally, her attire was flawless.
"Oh, Mr. Luke! I will get your mother. You go to the reading room." Helga stated, with no room for argument.
"Helga? What's going on? Who are all these people?" I asked her as she turned to walk away.
"You go to the reading room. Your mom will explain everything. I'm sorry." Helga rushed away to get my mother.
"Helga, please set a place for Travis at the dinner table, I've asked him to stay." I called to her, as she hurrriedly walked away.
I escorted Travis to the reading room, where we both sat down. I had never noticed how the different shades of pink in the room actually made me feel more relaxed. I guess that decorator knew what she was talking about. I was fidgeting with my hands. Travis looked at me.
"You all right?" He asked.
"I don't know. You?" I replied.
"I think so." He said, just as the door opened.
It was my mother, all five foot five and a half inches. She looked very pale, her blue eyes all puffy and red from crying. I had never seen her like this; she wasn't wearing any make-up, which didn't help her coloring.
"OH, Luke. Its your father! He's been killed in an automobile accident." I heard her words as she clutched onto me, but they didn't seem to register right away.
"What?" I heard myself, but couldn't feel the words as I spoke.
"I'm so sorry!" Mom sobbed.
"Mrs. Rogers, is there anything I can do?" I heard Travis ask, reaching for us comfortingly.
"Just be here for Luke, I guess. I don't even know what to do." Mother said, as she broke down again.
"How did it happen? When?" The questions were flooding my mind.
"I don't really know. The police came here this morning, shortly after he left for work. All I remember is that he was killed instantly; that's what the officer said." My mom explained to us.
"Have we called Grandmother?" I asked, trying to take charge of the situation, as well as get my mind onto other things.
"Oh, I got so busy trying to reach you, then all these people kept coming. I forgot all about your grandmother. I better call her." My mother responded.
"Its okay. I'll call her. Why don't you go upstairs and get some rest? I'll have Helga clear the guests." I told my mom.
"That would be nice. I'm glad you're here, Son. Such a young man. I guess you're the man of the house now." Mother began to cry again. Travis helped her to her room.
I sat in the reading room for a few minutes trying to get my own composure, then I rang for Helga.
I hate to leave you here my friends, but it's all I have for now. Feel free to write me your sentiments, don't forget the address Justin69SK@aol.com
