Am I really that bad? Is the story not getting enough potential? Was it not good to stick HRH with Nick just coz they're in the same boat? ARGH! Explain, please!

Love Is Up Where We Belong Written By Lady Nimm (9)

Part 5: Nick panted as he approached the front desk. "Please. I need to see Will Windsor." he told the receptionist. She had short, dirty blonde hair and an almost ethereal colored eyes. She wore a familiar smile and pointed towards a door. He rushed through the door and saw Will's still figure. "God, no." he whispered. "Will? Will, wake up, sweetie." he cooed. "Will? Come on, Will."

Will stirred and slowly opened his eyes. "N-Nick..." he groaned. "Oh god, Nick. It was horrid. I thought my life was going to end. It felt like I was leaving Earth without telling you--"

"William!" cried out a voice before an elderly man raced to hug him. "Thank god you're safe."

"Uh, papa." Will was surprised. He watched with a broken heart as Nick left the room quietly. "Father, what are you doing here?" he whispered.

"Actually, it was Harry's idea to come and visit you." Charles replied with his usual stone face. "What were you thinking when you just up and leave for America?"

"Papa, I was visiting a friend." William lied. Of corse he was visiting a friend. But Nick wasn't just a friend. He was much more than that.

"But you do not just up and leave suddenly--"

"I am over the age of 18, papa. In this country, as soon as I'm 18, I am not left withering in your grasp." William argued evenly.

"But in this country, you almost got killedj just like...just like..."

"Just like mummy, you mean?" he asked quietly. "You never loved her. And that made me wonder if you ever loved me or Harry."

Charles' eyes widened and he glared at the door. "It was that friend of yours, isn't it? He's a wash-up of what he was! He's filled your head with silly thoughts and dreams!" he raged. "Of course I love you, I am your father!"

"What was that little song that fits into our family so?" William glared at his father. "One small child locked away in Balmoral? Obviously, that mad child, as you called him, was mum conveying a message to us."

"William, do not play with fate here. You are to be King." Charles looked in his son's face. "Do you hear me, William?"

He conceeded. "Yes, father."

"I do not want to catch you with this Nick character ever again, do you hear me?" he demanded.

"Yes, father."

"Good." Charles smiled. "You'll be on the first flight home. I'm so glad you see it my way, my son." He left the room. The nurse was about to toggle in but saw William's uncharacteristically slouched figure and decided against it.

William clutched the sheets until his knuckles were bare white. Salty tears trickled onto the lifeless hospital blanket. He hugged his knees. "I haven't really cried in so long, mum. But papa is pushing me away from the one I love. What do I do?" he whispered as his vision was clouded by his own tears.
