In Chapter 17, all you read about was Justin and Josh. In Chapter 18 all you read about was Brittney and Lance. So I figured in this chapter I will write about the others and what they did on that day. Don't worry Chapter 20, I promise will involve everyone. But this week is just going to be simple, so these chapters are away from the main story, just side things. If you don't read to read about this side track story, then do not continue.
"This looks nice. But I think it would look better on you Sammy." Holding up a pink tank top with gems sewn into the collar of it, Christina offered the shirt to Samantha, who took it to inspect, to see if she thought it would look nice on herself.
"Think I should get it?" She asked, after deciding that it was good on her.
"Yeah, it would look really nice with a pair of leather pants. You can probably get a pair here too." Christina smiled, and looked around the store. She was able to cast her eyes on a rack where she saw a few pair of pants, and they easily caught her attention. "Over there, there's some pants over there." Samantha followed her as they made there way over.
"You sure you don't want to go with me?" Joey asked, holding the hotel door open with his foot. He had passed up the option to go with the girls to the mall, because he was hungry. He didn't realize he would have to go by himself, as Chris was turning him down.
"Nah, I really think I should call Dani. I've got a lot of explaining to do to her." Chris moped, and Joey got the idea that he wanted to be alone, and exited the room. Leaving Chris by himself.
Dialing the familiar number, he let the phone ring once, twice, and on the third ring he heard a familiar voice. "Hello." Hesitating, Chris knew he had to work up the nerve to tell his long time girlfriend about what he had done. And he knew that some where with in that explanation, he knew the right thing to do was to break off his relationship with her. "Hello." Again he heard the voice, and realizing he had spent too long hesitating, he spoke in reply to it.
"Hey Dani."
"Chris! Why didn't you answer me right away?" She asked, and Chris could hear her worry. He felt awful to have to tell her. Dani was the only one he knew that had known his secret long before any one else. She had always been able to tell that he was bisexual, and she still loved him for who he was. And even when she had found it obvious that Chris had a crush on Josh, she still loved him, something Chris was not sure why of.
"Sorry, I was just thinking of how to explain some things to you. I don't know where to start, but you are going to have to bear with me through all of it." Chris explained, and stopped again. He could tell by the silence coming from the other end of the phone, that Dani was becoming nervous, and he knew that she was most likely worried about what she may be about to hear.
"Go ahead, I'm all ears." She replied, and Chris had no choice but to begin.
"Alright, I love you, and I always will. Although my love is strong for you, I'm not in love with you." Chris started, and he could tell that he should probably wait for her reply after that. He was unsure of it would result in her hanging up on him, or allowing him to continue, but he knew she had to be given that option.
"I understand Chris. I always knew we weren't meant to be, I just didn't want to see it coming, and I guess thats why I didn't see it coming." Chris almost jumped from her response, he was a little shocked at her response towards what he had said.
"I'm sorry, I really am Dani. I didn't want to do this to you, I honestly didn't."
"It's okay Chris. I told you I understood. I always knew the day would come when we would come to end. I just want to know why. Is there some one else?" Chris was caught off guard with this question, he had expected to tell her, but he never expected her to ask. He didn't even think the conversation would have lasted that long.
"Well, you always knew that I had a little bit of a crush for Josh." Chris started, and he felt awkward having to tell his ex-girfriend about it. "Um, well I kinda kissed him." Chris finished, his awkwardness giving him a lack of words to choose from.
"You mean him and Justin broke up. Why didn't anyone call and tell me?" Dani asked loudly. Her anger seeming to get the better of it, but Chris slowly felt his awkwardness fade. He was relieved to know that she was speaking to him like a bestfriend, and he slowly began to realize that she was the best friend in his life.
"No, they didn't break up. They were still dating each other when I kissed Josh."
"You what?" Now he knew that he was going to get a speech, so he cut back into the conversation before she could say anything else.
"I know, it was stupid. I shouldn't have. And I fucked up big time, even more then I care to explain. But lets just say that Josh and Justin are going to take a while before they allow me back into their lives with open arms."
"I would guess not. You kissed Justins' boyfriend, and you expect them to be happy about it." Dani asked in mock sarcasm, and they both laughed. It was very odd for them to share such a comedic situation together.
"Well, lets just say that I did a lot worse then that. But I'm sure you are too busy for a long story." Chris managed to speak admist his laughing.
"No, I'm all ears, as of right now I've got nothing to do but listen." Dani replied, her laughter accompanying the words.
And as Chris explained the whole situation to Dani, he felt relieved. He knew that Dani still meant alot to him, and the relationship that shared would now be as friends. And he knew that relationship was growing stronger just in the short talk they were enjoying. As he finished, he sighed with relief, he had managed to explain the whole story, and with out realizing, he had released all his emotions with it.
"Chris, I can't say that I'd expect that from you. And I can't say that I'm a little bit upset at you for doing that to Justin. But after every thing you said, I can understand how hard it is for you already, so I won't put any more pressure on your for being an ass." Dani started out in seriousness, but as she continued the yelling, she couldn't help but throw in a joke at the end. Her own attitude was surprising her, she had never been so comfortable with a break up, but it was almost like her and Chris had never really been together in the long run anyways.
"Thanks for listening Dani. I didn't expect it from you, but thanks. And I really am sorry that we broke up, and that I cheated on you."
"Christopher, if you thank me one more time I am going to be royally pissed at you. And promise me this, you are going to call me alot more now. I want you to tell me what's going on in that little group of yours." Dani smiled on the other line of the phone. "By the way, I don't think you told me how they are all doing."
"They are all cool. Christina and Samantha are at the mall. Samantha is really cool, although she caused a little bit of a problem at first."
"What happened?" Dani asked questioningly, excited to find out some gossip.
"Well, she kinda saw Justin and Josh kissing before any of us even knew she was in the tour bus. Justin got upset and thought that she was going to tell the papers, and he ran off crying into his bunk. Josh cleared it up though, and Samantha doesn't even have a problem with it. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if she was kinda forced into not having one. It was almost like she caught them, and if she didn't have a say in it, she knew she would be out of the tour, so."
"Don't say that Chris. I'm sure she might not have a problem with it for the simple fact that she just doesn't have a problem with it." Dani laughed at Chris's immidiate guess.
"Anyways, they are all cool. Joey just went out to lunch. Well I guess that was a while ago, actually. But Brittney and Lance stayed in, and Justin and Josh did too. So I guess every one is off in groups except for me and Joe. I feel bad too, cuz he seemed like he wanted company. And I don't think he took security, and knowing him he probably didn't." Chris and Dani shared a laugh at Joey's expense before saying their goodbye's.
When Chris hung up the phone, he smiled. Leaning back into his bed, his smile broadened, and his mind absent-mindedly day dreamed.
TBC.....
This chapter turned out to be longer then I expected. I expected it to be a short one, like I said a filler. But I really got into writing the phone conversation with Dani and Chris. I wanted to make them more as best friends, even through the break up.
Well like said Chapter 20 will be longer. But it won't be out for a while. I am taking a short break again, this one for Thanksgiving. I have a few things to do this weekend. And I won't have free time to write until Saturday, so the next one won't be posted til then or maybe even Sunday.
