HALOGEN by Nelz Agustin
The rain never seemed to stop. I stood in front of the building, watching the world outside drown. The lone security guard at the lobby barely gave me a glance. The tiny halogen lights that dotted the entrance were making me sick.
A car horn blared.
"Come on, I'll give you a lift!"
Daniel.
"Thanks," I said, shutting the door from the downpour.
"Where do you want me to drop you?" His smile. Coying.
"I dunno, the mall?" I said, turning away.
"You sure? I can drive you home."
I nodded. He was still smiling.
The world outside still drowned.
