Welcome back all to Lance's Song, Part 11! I have a couple things to say, and then, by all means, get reading! First, thanks to Frank, Diva, and Scrouge. You all kick ass, but wait, you know that, RIGHT? Second, you know, the disclamer thingie. Not real. Might not be gay. Only fiction. Under 18-- amscray!

now, without further ado, lance's song 11

"Its strange, ya know?" Tyler started. Lance just looked at him. "My entire life changed because of a carton of Chocolate Chip Ice Cream."

"Really?" Lance asked, leaning forward, preparing to listen to the story.

"Yeah, really." Tyler smiled. "I haven't thought about that night in a long time, it's good to remember"

"Yeah, it is." Lance commented. Tyler took a deep breath.

"It had been raining on and off for a couple of days, and I had been sick of being cooped up inside my house, with my mom. She'd been driving me insane, like she always does, so when it had finally stopped raining, i was anxious to get out of there. No, more then anxious. I was hell bent on getting away from her, least I say something."

"I know what you mean." lance said, comfortingly.

"Yeah." Tyler got a far away look in his eyes. His mom... he hadn't thought about her in a while, and now, just thinking back to that day, he smiled. She had been there, helping him through it. Only, he hadn't known what she had been helping him through. God, he owed so much to her.

"Right after it stopped raining, I went out for a jog. I love jogging, it clears my head, lets me think, gives me some time alone. It... well, I guess it relaxes me. Yeah, it relaxes me. That day... it hadn't really been sunny..."

~Flashback~

The sky was a little grey. Not overly grey, just enough to hint that maybe the rain wasn't over. Just enough to hint. That made Tyler even more anxious to get on with his run, to get it over with. He felt so horrible because he hadn't run in a while, two days at least, and normally he ran twice a day.

His feet pounded on the asphalt, making his entire body vibrate with the force of his strides. It felt so good to run away from his problems, if only for a while. The houses he passed all looked alike, track homes that he never really liked. They were built to close together for his tastes, and they didn't have any personality. He'd much rather live in the small apartment he and his mom had just moved out of. It at least had character.

Tyler continued to run, mindful of what the sky looked like, just in case. He ran for what seemed like forever, getting lost in his thoughts, like always. Finally he began to notice how heavy his breathing was, how tired he was. How long had he been running for? A quick glance at his watch showed him he'd been running for over two hours. Glancing around at the surrounding streets, he noticed he didn't really have a clue as to where he was. The houses looked unfirmiliar, the streets were unknown, and he was in trouble.

He could always call a cab, call his mom, call somebody. But somehow that didn't seem right. He had directed himself here for some reason, maybe it was nothing, but somehow... With a quick grin Tyler spotted a Basken Robins. Maybe everything would make since over a pint of his favorite ice cream, chocolate chip.

The walk to the ice cream store was short, by comparison, to his long run. Tyler didn't really think of anything, his mind was focused on how the ice cream would feel sliding down the back of his dry, parched throat.

The cooler case was against the right hand side of the wall, Tyler remembered this with startling clarity. He crossed the nearly empty room and stood in front of the case, slowly opening it. Then with a cry of disbelief, a hand reached out from behind him and grabbed the last pint of Chocolate Chip ice cream. He stood there, disbelief spread accross his face.

~End Flashback~

"That's how I met Rachel." Tyler explained, leaning back fully against Lance. Lance did nothing but nodd, running a hand absentmindedly through Tyler's hair. This unconsious display of affection touched Tyler deep down, to a point in his heart that hadn't been touched in a long while.

"She offered to split the ice cream pint with me, and I agreed. That was the best decision I ever made." Tyler continued, getting a far away look in his eye. There was something about reminicing that made him smile, even if the memories led to unhappy thoughts.

"Do you want to continue?" Lance quietly asked, his voice making his chest rumble. Tyler didn't say anything for a moment, then he turned around and kissed Lance squarely on the lips. The kiss seemed to go on forever, but in reality it was only a quick peck. There was magical quality about lance that made one second go on for an enternity. When Tyler pulled back, Lance smiled slightly.

"What was that for?" He questioned, softly. Those four words hit Tyler straight in his heart.

"Just cause." He replied, smiling. "Just cause your sitting there, letting me tell you all about a day that i'd long since forgotten. Just cause your laugh reminds me of before Matt, before I realized life isn't perfect. Just cause your so sweet. Just cause..." Tyler continued. Then he smiled and jumped up, rushing to his desk.

With a look on his face Lance had never seen before, he opened up a blank notepad and began to furiously jot down words, images that had hopped into his head. Lance started at him for a little while, amazed. This was how his boy friend wrote, when ideas came he abandoned everything. He had such a passion for what he did...

Then Lance glanced at the couch, longingly. Tyler was going to be busy for a while it seemed, and the couch did look awfully inviting. With that in mind, Lance layed down, intent upon only resting his eyes. Within seconds he was asleep, curled up like a baby.

When Lance opened his eyes again, the sun was shining in through one of the windows, directly onto the sleeping angel that was lying in his arms. Lance blinked in surprise. When had Megan joined him on the couch, and when had he fallen asleep?

Tyler was slumped over on the desk, his hand gripped around a pencil that looked like it had been used for much of the night. With that though, the previous night entered his mind. He remembered how Tyler had begun to tell him his story, and how things had ended. All in all, however, it had been a great evening.

There was a slight stiring in his arms, and with a smile, Lance watched the little Megan wake up, slowly. She groaned and rolled over, almost of the couch, but Lance caught her just in time, just in time.

She opened her eyes slowly, and seeing Lance, began to smile. Megan didn't say anything though, she put a finger to her lips and made a shhh sound. Then she pointed to Tyler. Lance grinned.

"Shhhhh. Don't wake daddy up. He was up late." Megan whispered, causing Lance to giggle a bit. Megan was such a sweet heart.

"I wouldn't dream of it, honey. Your daddy needs his sleep." Lance whispered back. Then he stood up and held out a hand for Megan. "What would you say to the two of us going out for breakfest? We'll leave a note for your daddy."

"Will you brush your hair?" Megan asked, seriously. Lance found himself laughing.

"Meggers, your precious. Of course I will. I might even get dressed too!" Lance joked, smiling. This was how he wanted to wake up for the rest of his life. He wanted to see Tyler sleeping because he had been up late, working on a song. He wanted Megan to find comfort in his arms, he wanted... he wanted this life. More then anything at that moment, he wanted to live with these two people forever.

But he couldn't, shouldn't, think like that. He needed N Sync, N Sync needed him... Megan wasn't even his daughter. Oh sure, if he wanted to get technical, she wasn't even Tyler's daughter, but in the space of three days he had fallen in love with this odd family. He had fallen in love with Tyler, with Megan.

"Get dressed too!" Megan whispered, breaking Lance out of his trance.

"Alright, your majesty." Lance replied, bowing.

"You said I was a princess! Not a majesty!" Megan screeched, confused. Lance started to laugh a bit, but soon found himself calmed down.

"That's right, honey. Your a princess. Why don't you go see if your care bears are awake while I get dressed, huh?" Lance asked, stooping to her level. She nodded, carefully.

"As long as you don't wake daddy. That would be bbbbaaaaaaaaaaddddd." Megan said, making Lance smile once again. She cared so much for her father... maybe one day she would care that much for him.
