Adam Chapter 83 Maxieplus
We all walked Billy and Sam to school today, Trish kissed Joey goodbye and Kasey walked me into work. He grabbed a bun and buttered it then talked to my staff for a while. We then went to the fed building and it was busy on his floor. The amount of paperwork this was generating was evident, it was piled high on desks and filing cabinets. "It will look like Fred's loft soon." "I am cleaning it up one by one Adam, everything is being uploaded to computers when the guys get time. Now help me with my office." I helped him unpack a few boxes and he was doing the same, instead of using the filing cabinets he was stacking paperwork on top of it. "You need a secretary to do that for you." "I will get one soon Adam, but for now this is how I file." "Give that stack to me." I took the folders and opened the cabinet. Then I started putting them away. "You don't need a job do you" "No." It was firm and blunt, but he could ask mum to do it. I will talk to her tonight. We worked for two hours, Mick had come to see him and reassured him that everything was on track. There were no questions or requests to look at plans or film clips so they are settling down and don't have to run every request past Kasey. "Come on Adam, let's go to the build I want to look at something." "Yes sir." He talked to someone at the main desk and when we got outside, a car and driver were waiting for us. "You can command that?" "Yes, they have nothing better to do." He knew the driver and told him where we wanted to go, so we were chauffeured to the building site. Trucks were dropping off materials and I was amazed at how far they were advanced with the old warehouses, they almost looked brand new and all had their new apartments on top. Behind them I could see where they have started on the high-rise blocks, they won't impede on the area and will only be eight stories high, but Kasey said they are three-quarters of the money we will make. Where the restaurant will be situated is bang smack in the middle of the small old warehouses, then a grassy area then the docks. We sat on a bench down there, a footpath ran the whole length of the river and runners were passing by at intervals. I looked back at the restaurant and thought that the big windows would be an asset if anyone wanted to look at the view, a covered balcony would be placed outside for those who like to dine in the fresh air. "What do you think Adam, four piers to do something with." "Funny you should ask, I was just thinking about that. What did Steff come up with?" "His was good, but yours was better. A food court on one, a small carnival on the next, a games parlour, and a mooring dock." "Perhaps I was a little hasty. The food court will take customers away from the restaurant, the carnival I doubt will be used much, and the games parlour is out. You are going to have cheaper food outlets behind the old warehouses aren't you?" "Yes, coffee shop, bakery, Chinese, maybe fish and chip shop and pizza. It will be part of the shopping centre." "Well there seems to be loads of room available, but the crowning glory is the warehouse apartments and restaurant." More joggers ran past and we both checked their asses out, I laughed at his face. Sprung. "I bet you could outrun them and your hard ass would win many awards on the way." "You're biased Adam, if you were the judge I would win every time." "A juice bar, fish and chips, coffee and cake, pizza. with mooring behind all four." "Talk me through it." "They can all be run by the restaurant. As you have just seen, this is a favourite running and walking boardwalk, we will need to put in some seating and rubbish bins. I am talking small booths, take away only. That way the restaurant's views aren't impeded by large buildings or tall carnival rides. Keep them one level and compact. You will probably end up with eight to ten mooring docks, no boat stackers but they can be offered to the residents for a very nice rent. You have already seen the passing trade, and I bet you on the weekends there are plenty of walkers along the boardwalk. I did think about a cocktail bar but we don't want to encourage parties, they should be served on the balcony." "I see, so you want to keep it small and the restaurant runs them. I agree with the moorings, I always thought that would be a money-making exercise, convince me?" "Brisbane has a lot of entertainment for the kids, we don't need another petting zoo or carnival but people do spend a lot of money on food. The food court was a good idea but will take business away from the back street shops. If we keep this area as ours, we profit from it better than the other idea. We get the food business and charge rent to our own company. We could even invite some clever thespians to do a play on the green, bring a rug and watch the show. I like calm Kasey, when everything is calm then the crowd are. No concerts but maybe a band or two. Their clients will buy the cheaper food from the docks, the veterans can clean it all up and earn some extra cash in the process, they will need uniforms so people won't know who they are." "I can see what you see now, the other idea was a bit of a head fuck. The docks were my biggest problem." "Steff can renovate the docks, but we will do the food booths and entertainment. if any." He leaned in and kissed me, he had no idea what he was going to do with it and had hoped Steff would come up with a brilliant plan. "I didn't think parents would bring their kids here at night it would be dead." "Will Steff be mad?" "No, in fact that was his original idea, but I wanted him to do better." "You should have trusted him, Kasey." I smiled. "Yes, I guess I owe him an apology." "You demanded too much from your friends, and when excellence was handed to you on a platter you ignored it. Always go with the first idea they are usually the best." "Thank you. I will get him onto it. I don't suppose you could draw it so he has a better idea?" "For god's sake Kasey Casey, I'll call in to see him tomorrow." "Thank you." We grabbed our ride and were taken to my north-side salon. I bought some fresh lasagna for our late lunches and then we headed for the salon. I didn't think for one minute Kasey named the new restaurant after some posh French one, he named it after my salon. "Lasagna for you all kids, I hope you haven't eaten yet." I took the four big family-sized ones with garlic bread into the tea room and started setting up plates. Marko was the first after Kasey, he was so happy and wanted to speak with me. "Adam, can James Lynnie Anne and I have the cabin next weekend?" "Of course you can, any special occasion?" "Eva's got two weddings in, so we will help her out." "Excellent, but there are rules." "We thought there may be." He smirked. "You have to buy a bucket of KFC or Macca's burgers for the kids next door, and you have to leave it as you found it" "That's a given, any more rules?" "No, except have fun. The pizza menu is on the fridge and Kasey will tell you how to turn everything on." I smiled at my man but he was too busy eating. The others came in and a small party was happening. I sent a message off to Susan, and yes Steff is working in his office at the fed building today. I made up a takeaway container and wrapped some garlic bread in some foil. Kasey was eager to get back to work and I walked up with him. "Who is the food for?" "Steff, he's working in his office." "Do you want me there?" "No, stay right away from him, this is his gig." He burst out laughing. "I feel fantastic Adam, thank you." "Well if you liked this idea wait until I hit you with the next one." "And what will that be?" "You'll see." I smiled. We went to the office floor and I beelined towards Steff's section. He was sitting behind his desk surrounded by paperwork. We greeted each other with a hug, Italians like to do that then I passed his lunch over. He was grateful because he hadn't had time to eat. "Now what can I do for you?" "Your original dock plans Steff can I see them?" He shuffled the paperwork and found what he needed. While he ate I looked at them, and yes he had a small takeaway shop on one pier and moorings on the others. I grabbed a pencil and made the business smaller then drew boxes with food suggestions on them. I left the moorings where they were. Passing them over to him he looked at it, then me. "Is this what you want?" "Yes." I smiled. "But I already suggested that." "It takes him a while to see what is right in front of him, the whole thing was getting too complicated. Can you draw up a final plan of this one and he will sign it." "Will he though, he may alter it, again?" "He won't, I guarantee it. "I have heard the rumours Adam, are any of them true?" "He had a small breakdown, lack of sleep, lack of trust, lack of addressing his military issues. He is very happy now because he didn't know what was happening to him. I have finally convinced him that he is surrounded by trustworthy friends, so he's loosening that leash he has held you all on." "Thank God, he's got me working on the mega dock, he wants to almost use all the dock space up with shops. I try to tell him it will take business away from the build but he won't listen." "Right, there are a lot of amateur fishermen that fish off that dock aren't there?" "Yes, it's a very popular spot." "Good, a tackle/ bait shop at the start, end of, if they want food they will have to walk up to the build." I grinned. "That simple?" "The dock is where he will make the money, the tackle shop is for the convenience of the anglers. Draw up your mega dock plans and add that shop. I will get him to sign off on it." "That's so simple Adam, but I do like your ideas so much, less clutter" "Well, his mind was cluttered. I am now cleaning it out. How was your lunch?" "Better than my mum's cooking." "The shop is over where the north side salon is, it's hidden in the industrial warehouses. Treat Susan and Tick one day." I smiled and then I left to talk to Kasey. "Now, I have got Steff onto it and I will wait for your decision, but I think you should approve them. But if you have changes can you run them by me first?" "Done." He smiled. "Now the mega dock, I have told him to place a tackle bait shop at the start of it, that's all." "Do you think that's enough, you do know we are going to build some big apartments there, up behind the cranes and storage warehouses" "Yes and they will have takeaway shops, no one wants to go out to eat on a cold windy dock they have to walk miles to get to." "Point taken, shops under the flats then." "Do this Kasey, keep it simple we can add to it if needed. The dock is there for one thing, mooring and unloading." "Adam, you have no idea how relieved I feel." "Would you like a bonus relief, I can lock the door?" "I thought you would never ask." He unzipped his jeans and he had something very hard to offer me. Back at home, I had the chance to talk to mum. I deliberately left work early and I caught her playing patience in her granny's house. the sun was streaming through her windows and I caught her up on what had happened today. "Mum I need a huge favour?" She sat back and her eyes almost closed, she's so suspicious. "And what huge favour would that be son?" "Secretary, not just a secretary head girl running all the offices. The guys need filers runners typists, meeting clerks, appointment organisers, and anything else that comes up. Kasey particularly needs his filing done, he's generated so much paperwork he doesn't know what to do with it. You can work out your own hours. Sit and observe who needs what, then hire a typing pool that can do different jobs, that will take a whole lot of pressure off the managers and Kasey." There was a big silent stare coming my way, and she didn't stop until I heard. "Yes, thank you son I can do that job easily." I let my breath out the grabbed her for a hug. "There is one stipulation." "What's that mum anything?" "I get my hair done every other day, I need to look the part." "Goes without asking mum, anything else?" "I still walk the boys to school and pick them up. If there's a school meeting I go to it and I want a bigger tea room." "Done." "When do you want me to start?' "In a few days, it's a real mess up there because no one knows what to do." "I will call in to get my hair done then go whoop ass." she smiled. "I can't thank you enough mum, I spent an hour or so trying to do some of Kasey's filing but I can't be doing that every day." "We ladies will take care of it son, I wonder if Susan needs a job?" "Steff will have her in his locked office all day." I smiled. "Like Kasey does with you?" "You heard." "I heard. Your fathers upset you didn't call in to see him, and he has heard the rumours." "I will call in on him tomorrow." I blushed. I was so relieved when she accepted the job, and couldn't work out why Kasey hadn't hired anyone to do that work. I suppose he got as far as the receptionist and stopped. "I guess the old saying is true son." "What saying." "Behind the brilliant man is an even better woman, it is the women that do business in the background and I am very proud of you." She laughed. "Now, would you like to walk up to the school with me?" "It would be all my pleasure." I offered my arm and she laughed again. As we walked up to the school mum was telling me she used to be an office manager when she met dad, and she has volunteered at the school for many years, she let it slip that she had missed it all. I told her she has free reign of the outer office and she should sit down and make a plan. She laughed and said. "Not another plan." "Do what you want, get some tempts in at first and pick your workers from them maybe." "I was just thinking that." The boys ran towards us and jumped up for their hugs and kisses, they were very excited and tried to run ahead because they had swimming practice today. Kasey was home by the time we got back and once again he was looking at plans. I didn't mind, there was only the one, Steff's mega dock. "I signed off on the build one, I like that idea," "See, keep it simple." He stared at me and picked his pen up. "This is good to go. "Are we going to start on it?" "No time like the present, the dock will be done the flats come later. The drop-in house is already decided on and the government will fund its running costs, Bill will be the resident psych, and the men will decide on what goes on there. We will donate the renovated warehouse to them." "So it will be a freebie?" Yes." "Good." "Aunty Chloe, Uncle Georgio." The boys screamed. I looked up and saw them coming through the back doors. Chloe looks happier and calmer every time I see her, she's got an awards night tonight so Trish and I will prepare her for it. Her series is up for quite a few I believe. Kasey had asked me if I wanted to go, but I declined saying we could watch it on TV, and at the time he asked we were having sleep issues. I told him that Mick and his men had done all the hard work, they should take the spotlight. She sat with her coffee I didn't detect any nerves and Cody had fashioned her frock, and her gorgeous bodyguard would escort her in one of his famous suits. She didn't want to appear as Adele she would be herself tonight, she didn't want to overdo her other persona. "Is the frock nice?" "Beautiful, a beaded pale blue sheath." "It will look gorgeous on you." "It's Georgio's I will be worried about, Cody has put him into the sexiest pair of hipsters I have ever seen. the ladies will be fighting over him." She giggled. I looked at her, and yes, I would fight over him too. Joe and Trish arrived and the party started, Joe sat next to Kasey and they talked about the up-and-coming decisions for the Banks trust he has a meeting next week. "Invite Walsham here and we can all listen in. It doesn't have to be at the bank." "I can do that?" "I don't know, but it's worth a try." Kasey laughed. Mum pulled dad aside and was talking quietly with him, he kept looking at me. "What are they up to Adam?" "Something." "What something is that Adam?" I couldn't help myself. "She's telling him she is your new office manager. She starts day after tomorrow." "What? I was about to get some more temps in." "She will do that Kasey, and your filing." "Awesome, that's another big load off my mind, the guys are screaming for secretaries." "Well mum can organise them, and they should have done that anyway." "How did you do it?" "She loves us, and we need her, and free hair do's forever." I grinned. "Fred was right Adam, he wrote about family. He said that everything he achieved he couldn't have done without his family's help. He said his wife was his staunchest ally and had brokered most of his successes." "So there you go, it looks like I'm working for you now." I grinned." "I have some work for you tonight, it's getting pretty lonely down there. I want you to talk to it." "Later gorgeous, have you ordered a limo for Chloe?" "Yes Mick is doing all that, he and the boys need one also." "Okay Miss Chloe let's get your hair sorted out." She jumped up and I took her to the bathroom. Trish will do her hair but tonight I get to be a Lynnie and wash it. I will also be doing Georgios hair, and between him and Kasey I get two treats tonight. "She's back to being in charge again Adam, thank you for talking her into it," Dad whispered in my ear while mum and the kids made up some nibbles. "I expected her to knock it back, but we are so happy she's going to do it." "She loved that office job, I made her give it up when she was having you. Son, you won't be disappointed she's very good at it." "I know I won't be dad, I couldn't be happier for her." The TV was on and Chloe was about to arrive so I yelled at the boys to come and watch. She looked divine on the red carpet and when interviewed she thanked Cody Mitchell for her dress which shimmered in the spotlights. Georgio was the perfect model to have beside her, and he was mentioned as her boyfriend by the interviewer who was almost going gaga over him. A lady to the end she was, and she praised her production company and the crew for making her look the part, she mentioned without Adele there would be no story. She spoke the last part when she picked up her best actress award, and her best new talent award. Mick and his boys were jumping up and down on stage they had picked up three awards and were in the running for a fourth, which they got. Chloe was pulled back on stage and they partied together. The golden award was announced and Chloe started crying when they called her name. We yelled clapped and kissed Kasey and he kissed me because I had made it all happen. If I remember it was Trish that started it all with one photo, so I reminded them all of that one fact. The phones started ringing and Kasey was on top of the world, this is going to be huge for our production company. It was one am when we all went to bed and we did hear the boys and Chloe were all going to an after-party at some famous producer's house, I hope she isn't pilfered off us. Kasey didn't let me forget he was fruity all night, if he rubbed up against me once he did it ten times on the grandpa's sofa. The boys had gone to sleep early so we recorded it for them to watch after school sometime. My man's awesome thighs were on show tonight, his chest was heaving as I entered him and his vice-like legs gripped me and urged me to move faster. I can never make it last with him he's such a big turn-on, especially in this position. Once I tried to doggy style him but he wasn't going to have any of that, he wanted to watch my face. He's come a long way since our first meeting, and now he almost begs for it. We slept well and he was up early because his phone started ringing again. I looked in on Sam he was reading a comic book and I kissed him and told him to start his day and come down for breakfast. Mum was setting it all up and smiling to herself. "That was an awesome night Adam, I think Kasey's going to get busy again." "I won't let that happen mum. He can hire a person who knows about production houses. Like Mick, he can take that job on." "I thought he already had." "Well he doesn't have a title, he's just been known as the head of production. I will get Kasey to officially announce his title to the men, and any new ventures he can handle them, but I doubt there will be many. There are still so many stories to be told. Cody's grandparents for instance, they were famous designers but we never read anything about them, and then there's Cody a story and a half about his battles and triumphs. But I doubt he would want his life on the screen." "Well Kasey knows what he's doing I suppose." "He does mum, he worries that Chloe won't be able to play other roles but you know what?" "No." "She doesn't want to, she is so grounded nowadays it's awesome to watch." "I hope she left the party early." "Georgio would have seen to that, he was almost making love to her on that red carpet." She giggled. "Dad's happy you are working again." "He is happy for me son, I can't wait to start." Billy raced out past us then inside calling out Sam's name, then they both raced back and into mums place." "Your father is handing out horse rides I think." "Do you think he would give me one?" "Don't be ridiculous son, your way too heavy." "Awww." Joe and Trish arrived and eggs were being made. "Have you heard from Chloe?" "Yes Adam, she didn't go to the after-party they went up to the farm to celebrate with mum and some of her friends." "Sounds just like her to do that." "They stayed the night and will come here sometime today. She gave mum her gold award and will give Kasey her others." "She should keep them, she won them." "She said they should be displayed in his office, they were for everyone." "A showcase in the reception area will secure them, and I am sure they will only be the start of something bigger, and we better get some unique souvenirs of the show to place with them, her dress should be preserved also." Mum said. "Good thinking head lady." "Head lady?" Joey said. "Yes mums agreed to become the office manager, she gets a whip and all." "Ohh, when does the slapping start?" Joey crossed his legs and moaned. Trish slapped him and told him to behave himself. Kasey came down and looked flustered. "What's been happening?" "People just don't get it, we aren't selling the series, we aren't selling our leading lady, and we certainly are not selling the production company. Does that answer your questions?" He smiled at me. "Yes sir, perfectly clear sir. Eggs on toast sir?" "Thank you Adam, and Adam?" "Yes?" "Thank you for last night I can't wait for you to do it again on the bathroom floor." "Eat up my friend you will need your strength today." Mum called dad and the boys out and it was once again a feeding frenzy around our table. I helped Kasey undress in the bathroom then he laid on a towel on the floor. "Do me like you did last night." I did that awesome job gladly and took my time. We showered and he wanted to hold me a lot, and once again he was back, and I must read Fred's book. There is something in it that has triggered my husband. Work today and I grabbed a newspaper on the way, the headlines were all about the awards. Chloe and Georgio's photos were awesome and the boy's smiles were huge. I sat in the tea room and read the article, the journalist was very kind and said what a beautiful grounded lady Chloe was, and how she is shunning the Hollywood hype and keeping everything real. It was nice to read and Chloe should be so proud of herself. She has won a few awards throughout the world but never attended the ceremonies, she won't leave Australia and I think that's a good thing. Georgio has asked her to marry him on several occasions but she said they had plenty of time to do that, she wants to have some fun before she starts a family. Anne came in and I had to look twice at her, she has come a long way since her episode, and is more confident and more beautiful, she has lost weight and is almost glowing. "How are things Anne?" I asked. "Excellent Adam, no issues and living in that gorgeous apartment is wonderful. I feel like a queen. Thank you once again, I can't wait to see Eva and little Casey, we are going to have so much fun." "Well it's nice up there just try to relax and take in all the fresh air you want." I smiled. "I will Adam, I can't wait to sit in the gardens with my wine." She took her client's coffee out to her and I went to see if I had anyone waiting. Miss Trish was doing a client's hair and I grabbed the private who had been waiting. He has been in here several times and I think his name was Peter he's from the country and has been growing his hair out so I can style it better. "We might do some highlights next time Pete, it needs a kick." He laughed. "Is she taken Adam?" "Who?" "Anne." Bingo. "No, single Pete. She's a great girl, are you interested?" "I sure am, but she's totally out of my league." I stared at him, he was a good-looking guy, and will be even better-looking when I get through with him. "Don't be so sure of that, she's not a snob if that's what you mean. Would you like an introduction?" "I'm too shy." She finished with her client and went to look at the appointment book. "You need a shoulder massage." "I heard yours are amazing Adam, that would be nice." I left him and walked over to Anne. "Pete would like a shoulder massage baby, any chance you can do it?" She looked over to my workstation then at me. "Are you setting me up?" "Yes and no, it's your choice. He is a little smitten with you but he thinks you are out of his league." "Oh does he now." I followed her over and introduced them, Pete nearly blended into the chair. "Now, I have a sore wrist so Anne has kindly offered to do your massage. Is that something you would go for?" He stuttered out a yes. The last I saw them they were chatting away like old friends, so many of my staff are drawn to military men, my Kasey was the first. Who knows if they will date, but she has to get back on that scene soon and Pete is a simple country boy who only joined up to help his mum get by. Kasey came down for lunch and he said he had nothing much to do which surprised me, he's always got something on the go. We talked some more about going to the cabin again and we have to do something about Joe and Trish having a proper honeymoon. He said that he spoke to Joe about it and neither of them want to leave us all at the moment. Trish had suggested they go and spend a few days at the farm with his mum, and if it gets too much they will move to the cabin. She is torn between being there for us and being with Joe. I knew she wouldn't leave us just yet, she would wait until she felt that everything would be okay with Kasey, and that would be my indication that they felt he was back to his old self again. "What are you doing this afternoon Adam?" "Work Kase, I need to get back into it." "Have we got time for a shoulder massage?" "Of course we have. Come with me." I gave him a long slow one with his shirt off and he moaned, there wasn't one workmate or one client who didn't notice that Kasey was loving the attention. Anne said to me after that Pete almost did the same, and he asked her out for dinner one night. I told her to keep it simple he didn't have a lot of money and he's new to the dating scene. "I will tell him I love pizza then." She grinned. I don't know if they will have a relationship but it's time she got back into the dating game, and Pete is a sweet guy. Saturday was Sam and Billy's big day, and they were up early. They wanted breakfast as soon as they got dressed and then they both sat and watched us. "Boys you have three hours to kill, go and play," Mum said. "But we might be late, we had better go early we need to change into costumes." "Go and play with the train, its too early." "Papa can you take us to school?" "Yes son, but not until later on." "Billy, do you think the other kids are already there?" "I don't know Sam maybe." "Okay boys, let's go for a drive." They screamed and Kasey took them down to the build for something to do. I think they were disappointed because he said they hounded him nonstop, but the ice creams had helped for a half hour. They almost ran to school when the time came and we had to pull them back a bit. There were kids and parents everywhere, poor aunty Chloe had gathered up a few fans and was signing autographs nonstop. We surrounded her and headed inside. Sam and Billy ran to the dressing room to get ready and we all found seats together. We waited for ages for it to start, and when it did, the clapping and cheering as each child did their bit was done by everyone. Sam was excellent then Billy joined in and they sang a song with some other kids. Our son is going to be a star I think, along with my gorgeous brother. Coffee and some cakes were provided and Kasey sat quietly talking to Sam about his excellent performance. I overheard him telling Sam he could be anything he wanted to be, then he said it. "Papa I want to be just like you, I think you are the bravest papa I have ever had." "Then I will teach you all about big business." "Thank you poppa, I don't know about business, but I know about being brave." Kasey immediately looked at me as he kissed his sons head. He jumped down and went to find Billy, maybe Sam is only doing the stage thing for Bill, I wouldn't put it past him he's so kind-hearted. "Are you all fixed for Monday mum?" "Yes son, I have a list made out and I am so excited to start." She had put the job off for a few days, she wanted to concentrate on this day, then work. We all walked home and the first thing they did was run and get their swimmers on. Georgio is going to give them a lesson. Kasey wanted to talk to me about something so we decided to have a nap. He put his jock on and laid on the bed and I ravished him again. I know what he's up to he's including me into his life more, up until now I have been the main designated bottom, he's evening it all up so we both enjoy ourselves. "Have you heard from Marco?" "Yes they are having a ball, one wedding done another one tomorrow. They like Eva's new assistant and are getting plenty of Casey cuddles. They are going to Evas tonight for dinner, Wilson is ordering the pizzas. He also said that Anne is getting a few phone calls from private Peter." He smiled. "It's about time, I was worried about her." "We all were." He spread his powerful legs apart and stretched, then he must have decided it was my turn to bottom because he was nudging me almost nonstop.
