I think I imbibed in the brandy just a little too much at the lawyers, and I pushed the lift button five times before I realised it was the ground level button. I adjusted myself and eventually made it to my front door. I dropped the keys a few times then I rang the doorbell.

Kasey had a shocked look on his face when he opened it.

"Sorry I can't find the hole." I leaned against the door

"Then you had better come in, did you have a good time?"

"Yesss sir." I saluted but hit myself on the head instead then I waddled straight to the bedroom and flopped on the bed. As I passed an open-mouthed Mick I said.

"Get that cute butler over there to look through these, will you? good night." I threw the bag of envelopes onto the table.

It was only two in the afternoon but boy was I ever tired, well, I was pissed as a fart.

I slept for the next four hours and my mouth was dry when I woke up but no hangover, just an urge to drink tons of cold water. I stood up, steadied myself then walked out to the family room.

"Daddy, I missed you." Sam ran towards me and I knelt to give him a big hug and kiss.

"I missed you too sweetheart." I looked at Kasey then Mick and said.

"And you two also."

I opened the fridge and poured myself a very large glass of cold water, I knew this vase would come in handy one day.

I sat down and smiled.

"Feeling better Adam?"

"Yes sir, much better, thank you for asking."

"Good because I have been looking over your paperwork and noticed you have already signed it."

"Was that a bad thing to do?"

"No, not at all in this case, but in the future, don't sign anything."

"Okay." I blushed.

Mick was in stitches he has never seen me like this before, and come to think of it neither has Kasey. I took my jacket off and in the struggle, my shirt came with it so I sat there nude from the waist up.

"Adam." He moaned.

"Give me a minute to catch my breath Kasey, that was a hard chore to do."

He got up and went to the bedroom and got me a t-shirt, then he dressed me.

"Thank you."

"You are welcome. Now, this document gives you the power to vote and disperse any money owed to creditors. This other document has seven buildings, a string of shops and apartments, and a mooring site down at the docks, plus incidentals. One of those buildings is the fed building."

"What?"

"The fed building, so if they act up you can kick them out." He laughed.

"They own the whole building?"

"Yes, Adam it's leased to the government for the next ten years."

"Wow," I yelled, Sam looked at me and smiled.

"Adam this is old money, I hope you are not going to go silly with it."

"Never going to touch it husband, that's for Sammy and I can't touch it without Walsham and Jimmy's signatures."

"Okay, we will talk at length about everything else, when you are sobered up enough."

"I'm sober now."

"So why are you slipping off the chair." I righted myself, maybe I need ten minutes more sleep.

When Trish arrived she was holding a bottle of wine, I said I would have one and I did, that was the end of me for the day. The last thing I remembered was Kasey putting me to bed, I hope Trish feeds my boys.

In the morning it was like nothing had happened, Kasey kissed me and rubbed my good spots I needed more water so I told him to hold that thought. I quenched my thirst and went back into the bedroom, he was fast asleep again.

I made coffee and looked in on my son, he was trying to open his eyes so I left him to wake up normally. I sat and grabbed the paperwork and started looking it over. Yes, there were some serious buildings and down the bottom was the total cash on hand. It was all too much for me and I had forgotten the instructions I had been given, only when they called me for a meeting I must attend on time. I know I didn't own anything I was one of the custodians. In my head, Adele still owned it all and I wasn't going to touch any of it.

I looked around the room and thought about renovating the balcony but at the moment it's all too hard. Sam came out and I hugged and kissed him.

"Are you feeling all right now daddy?"

"Yes son, everything is back to normal again, did aunty Trish feed you last night?"

"Of course she did." he started laughing.

"Good because I don't want you to go hungry."

Kasey arrived and picked him up, he threw him on the couch and started face-farting him, he doesn't do that for long because he knows it starts to hurt after a while.

"Did you sleep well Adam?" he kissed me.

"Yes thank you, and thank you for not balling me out, the brandy was nice but I think I had too many." I blushed, and why am I apologising anyway?

"It was funny Adam, more coffee?"

"Yes please, my throat is so dry."

"I can fix that."

"I know you can." He's randy again.

"Do you remember what I told you last night about the papers?"

"Not a lot Kase, I do remember Jimmy saying I will need his and Walsham's signatures if I wanted to do anything."

"Very wise of them Adam."

"They also gave me another set of keys." I suddenly remembered them and went to look in my jeans pocket. Thank God I didn't lose them on the way home.

"These keys there's a locked games room in the penthouse apartment, full of Adele's memories. Jimmy didn't know what to do with it so he locked it away. We have to go through it and see if there's some personal stuff that we can feature through the apartment."

"Sounds like a big job Adam, did he indicate what was there?"

"Only the scrapbooks and photo albums, but there are a few keys on here some stuff is maybe locked in trunks, maybe."

"Have you any plans to go through it soon?"

"I will need another brandy to even unlock the doors." I smiled.

"I can do that for you, we can make a day of it if you want."

"Thank you, I don't think I could do it on my own."

"How about we make a start after I get back from Canberra?"

"I might go and look first, just to see what I'm up against."

"Good idea, we can go this morning maybe."

I did want Kasey to come with me because it will be too confronting for me to handle on my own. Hopefully, there won't be much of it and I do know I want her albums down here with me. I was given one when she passed, and I look through it when I'm down. When Kasey was away I almost had it tattooed to my side.

Trish and Mick knocked, Sam answered the door and she stared at me while Mick laughed. He handed Kasey a memory stick and said.

"All done."

Trish asked me if I felt ok, I told her yes and thanked her for feeding my boys last night.

"No problem Adam I put it on your account." She giggled.

I got up and started getting Sam some toast and beans but he yelled out and told me his red stuff was in the fridge.

I pulled out the leftovers and it looks like he is having spaghetti on toast today.

Mick and Kasey had started up a conversation and I heard him say he had to check it all through and then take it to the general's office for a final check.

"Where does it go from there Kase?" I asked.

"To the minister of international affairs, he will know what to do with it."

"Did the Chinese win?"

"Yes, they won." He giggled at my simplistic word.

He popped his glasses on and started reading as I placed the toast in front of Sam.

"Won't be a minute, breakfast in fifteen. Come on Trish Kasey, let's get this out of the way, Mick you're babysitting." Kasey put his glasses down and followed us.

I almost dragged them outside and around to the lift, she had questions and I had no answers.

"Aladdin's cave is about to be opened and I want you both to hold my hands when it's done."

I found the room it had two beautiful doors guarding it up a hallway. I took a deep breath and put the key into the lock then turned it. Trish had to push the door open and as it did I did see an Aladdin's cave. There were boxes upon boxes stacked up high, full-height traveling trunks, vintage suitcases that looked like they hadn't been unpacked, their brass locks firmly locked. Trish opened the huge wardrobe and she gasped at the array of sequinned gowns fur coats and top-label frocks.

"She had good taste, a lot of these are couture, Dior, Valencia, Pierre Balmain, the list goes on. These are right up your alley Adam pure vintage one-offs and shoes, wow, they are divine."

Kasey was sifting through the boxes, each one had a label of contents on them. He put two aside and said they were photo albums.

It was getting to me, I felt like I was rifling through someone's wardrobe, and I was, so I asked Trish if she wouldn't mind closing up and we can come back when the storm cloud in my head cleared. They followed me back home.

"How did you go?" Mick asked.

"Not good, it's jam-packed with traveling trunks clothes furs shoes, God knows what we will find in there I must thank Jimmy for loading me up with this job."

"Take out the valuable stuff Adam and maybe get some of those store window models to dress up then put a rope across the doorway, keep it as it is a vintage star's wardrobe."

"Good idea Kasey, but we will go through it together, Trish also." I smiled at my friend.

"Me too." Mick put his hand up.

"Yes, you can sniff out the glass." I laughed.

"By the looks of it Adam she kept everything with a label on, another museum in the making."

"Well if there's anything you like that fits you take it."

"She was tiny Adam, nothing is going to fit me and anyway, it wouldn't feel right."

"What do you all want for breakfast?" I wanted to distract myself. I will have to prepare myself better for the next visit but hopefully, Kasey will be with me on our own, he's good at holding my hand.

I whipped up some bacon and eggs, Trish helped and she fussed over Sammy because he had only eaten a little of his food, he has cartoons to watch.

Kasey was back to reading and nodding his head at the same time. He congratulated Mick and said he was looking forward to their next venture.

"Listing items from Adams room major, everything must be accounted for and stored properly."

He's right those ballgowns must be preserved, I will have to get the experts in and I know where I can find them, at the museum. Maybe I can use Mick to compile a list, like, keep it in the family. And I will have to talk to Jimmy at some stage.

We showered and had a bit of the man sex while there, then Kasey wiped Sam down with warm water and suds. I found him some hot clothes to wear and he was ready to go. I dressed to impress today and Kasey's eyes followed me around the room, Trish called back and she is going to escort me to work.

I kissed my men goodbye and we headed for the bakery then the salon. I was just about to shove a roll into my mouth when jimmy popped his head in.

"Good morning Adam, I'm not too early am I?"

"No of course not, coffee?"

"Yes please, the reason I'm here is I rang last night and Kasey said you were sleeping. I only wanted to make sure you got home ok. We offered to call you a cab but you waddled off on your own. I went bright pink and apologized for my behavior.

"You were ok son, otherwise we would have insisted. Did you get Kasey to look through the paperwork?"

"Yes he did, and I'm not to sign anything in the future without him looking it over." He laughed.

"Adam, it's only a formality, there is plenty of money in that trust but as we said you need our okay to access it. I am far from concerned about that, what I am concerned with is Adele's belongings, did you have a chance to look through it?"

"Yes I took Trish and Kasey up there this morning, my god it's a treasure trove. That museum is going to look a hell of a lot better when we start adding items to it."

"That's my concern, and thank you. It will be done well then. I knew I could rely on you." he smiled, I groaned.

"I will get Mick to itemise everything and maybe we will leave it locked. I want to get a half dozen vintage mannikins and dress them to display the better creations throughout the apartment then I will maybe get some showcases to display photographs and small items that are noteworthy."

"Now did you find the safe?"

I stared at him trying to remember what he told me yesterday but nothing came to mind.

"No is there a safe too?"

"Yes in the bathroom to the side, you have the keys to it and the safe. That's where I put most of Adele's jewelry for safekeeping. I keep a few items in mine, but the bulk is in that safe."

I groaned and grabbed my head, I wanted to scream, but he touched my hands and pulled them down.

"Adam, please I have no one else. There is no one in my life I can trust as I trust you. All that stuff is just that, stuff. You have to look at it like it's beautiful, but still just stuff. Adele collected an enormous amount of mementos in her lifetime, some given by fans some made especially for her, and some given by royalty. I can help as much as I can but no one knows the story behind a lot of it. Some scrapbooks have designer drawings in them. All the outfits she bought, she also got the original design and placed them into those books, they are your contents list."

"I understand, really I do Jimmy. It is just so overwhelming I don't know where to start at the moment."

"Start at the beginning Adam, the traveling trunks, they are old, piece by piece you can slowly itemize and match up with the reference books. When you are done I will get the staff from the museum to confirm each item, they have the resources. They will determine which items will be displayed. But I want you to have the safe moved to your place, you don't have one do you?"

"I never needed one Jimmy, but I guess I do now."

"Good, maybe a couple of strong military types with a trolly will help you." He grinned.

"Adam I know you feel these things are still Adeles, and I feel the same, so let us just think that for a while, let us not break up the whole collection just yet."

"It will never get broken up Jimmy this museum will go on forever." I had tears in my eyes and Jimmy was smiling, we are at one with all of this.

"Adam, did Kasey look at his envelope?"

"He didn't say, I am sorry I had forgotten that request."

"Well, when he's ready." He hugged me and then kissed my forehead.

"Thank you."

Kasey called in on his way to the fed building, he said his hellos to everyone and found me sitting alone in the tea room, Jimmy had long gone to do something or other.

"Aren't you feeling well Adam?" The dam burst and he stared at me while my whole body shook. My tears erupted and the spell was broken. I have tried so hard to put Adele in the back of my mind and I will kill Jimmy for doing this to me. But how can I kill someone that feels the same way? Kasey's gentle hands went around me and he held me close as I cried into his shoulder. His words were comforting and his smells were calming me as I let it all out. When my sniffles became a slight noise in my throat I knew it was time to stop.

"It's alright baby, I understand this is all too much for you, and we will help in any way we can. You are not alone Adam, you will never be alone as long as I live." He began by kissing my neck just in the right places. I then did what Jimmy had asked me to do before he left, that's why I was in shock. But I agreed with him, but will Kasey? I am about to find out.

"Kase, did you find an envelope with your name on it?'

He dropped his head and seemed to be thinking about his answer.

"Yes, but I haven't opened it yet, I have a fair idea what's in it"

"Will you please accept a seat on the trust with Jimmy and me? Also, Bill wants you to sit with his accountants for an hour or two a week just so you know where money is going and where it's invested. Jimmy knows I can't do things like that, but we think you are the best person to do it." He thought about it for a moment then said.

"I will do it, for you all. I will get involved."

"Thank you, we will make a good team."

"There's something else I need to ask you, can you take over the apartment and its transition? The reason I am asking is Jimmy and I aren't in any fit condition to organize this museum or even go through Adele's things. He knows people that will help, but we want to step back. It's going to be a nightmare for us and I want you to do it for us, for our Adele."

"Why? she was your friend. I didn't even know her."

"Exactly for that reason Kase, to have you making the decisions would be a relief for us. Neither of us can do it, we were too close to her, you at least have some respect for us and I know you will do good by the trust, you will take it from ordinary to awesome. I know you will."

"But Adam I don't know anything about her, I can certainly manage a family trust I have been doing ours for years. It's the museum stuff I don't know about."

"You will have a lot of help Kasey, Trish and Mick, and some ladies from the museum who know something about designer clothes. Mick can make the lists, Trish will help the ladies when needed. Jimmy and I will help when you get stuck, but I don't want to be shut up in that apartment for weeks at a time trying to make sense of it all."

"I understand Adam, I would gladly do that for you both and I will get together with Jimmy just to make sure that this is what he wants. The first thing we will do is find someone that knows about this stuff like one of your vintage shopkeepers. Maybe two women might be best, we leave the museum until later they can come in and confirm all the findings. Then we get the ladies to do the setup. The games room will stay locked because then we can store everything there and change the apartment's look every five or six months. The museum can still run it, and we three can supervise what they touch." I knew he would have some answers and I loved him dearly for them.

I nodded and kissed his lips then said,

"Thank you, you will need to sign the paperwork in the envelope, but don't do that until you read it." I smiled finally, and he smiled back.

I gave it a moment and asked him where he was going. He told me he had finished his work and is now delivering it to the general, did I want to come for a walk?

"No, I haven't even started work yet, the staff must be so pissed off with me, there is only a certain amount they can take." I leaned back and grabbed a tissue to wipe my nose. I saw his red eyes and my hand stroked his face, he dropped his head and said.

"When you hurt I hurt, I am sorry you saw that."

"Don't be, it's what makes you the person I know you are." Then I kissed his perfect lips again gently.

It was Eva that finally broke our silence she wanted to know if I would take a wash and blow dry. I looked at her and started nodding yes, my fists were on my knees and I looked at Kasey and said.

"I will see you on the way back." I pushed myself up, stretched, kissed him goodbye, and started work.

I won't try to apologize to any of my friends, but I will shout an extra cake for lunch, so I gave Lynnie my best smile and a hundred dollars to get a nice one, plus Kase and my lunches.

I guess now that is all over he might pick up one of his new books again, I felt a little relieved he would be doing that. I was more relieved that he is going to take over the Adele Banks museum setup and maybe do great things with the trust fund. I rang Jimmy and told him all was good with Kasey, he said he will call by tonight I could almost hear the relief in his voice.

When he came back he was hungry and excited that his work had been done. We didn't mention the earlier incident he was smiling which made me feel a lot better. I had written down my thoughts about the museum and handed it to him, he looked at it quickly and placed it in his shirt pocket.

"Leave it to me Adam with an a. I got this."

I talked to him about the safe and asked if he could get a hold of a trolly, and reminded him it may be bolted to a wall or something. He said again to leave it all up to him, the best I could offer was a pair of pliers and a screwdriver set.

"I will get onto Wilson's men they can do it, do you want it installed in our walk-in?"

"Thank you yes, there's plenty of room for it."

"Is there much in it, do you know?"

"Jimmy said some jewelry, I have no idea and I don't want to open it alone."

"Trish and I will do it for you and let you know if it's safe for you to look."

"Thank you, I don't want to be loaded up with something I have to worry about all my life."

"Leave it to me and Trish for now." He grinned.

"I will also need the names of your most trusted vintage shop ladies, then I will go and talk to them about some part-time work." I breathed out and sat back, closing my eyes I thanked the lord for sending him my way.

The next time I saw him was when he called to go pick Sam up. I offered to stay and help but my staff wanted me to go and get some rest. Now he's back to normal I can stay back a few days and work.

Later that afternoon saw the safe installed into our walk-in wardrobe, and I sat while Trish and Kasey opened it. I was informed that there was nothing too personal inside just a load of jewelry boxes filled with rings necklaces bangles and earrings. Jimmy had called in and sat with me while they did that job for us. He also had Kasey sign some more paperwork, and he thanked him sincerely. He also said the trust does almost run itself, but he was very pleased to have him on the board.

"Is the other document signed?" Jimmy asked Kasey, who picked up another document.

"I wanted to talk to Adam first, but we can do that now." He smiled at me.

"What now?" "This document you have already signed adds Sam to the trust."

"No way, what the hell is that all about?" I looked at Jimmy.

"You, Kasey, and myself own thirty percent each and San owns ten, That way he gets the deciding vote if we are undecided. He will have to attend the board meetings." He giggled, I sat back and sighed.

"Just sign it Kasey, its doing my head in but yes, sign it."

Kasey grabbed a pen and signed the document then placed them all back into the envelope, then handed it to Jimmy. I just don't want to know.

"Sammy come here baby." He did as he was told and Kasey sat him on his knee.

"Son I want you to sign something for papa, is that okay?' "Yes papa." He handed a piece of paper to his son who did a scrawl across the white sheet.

"Thank you son."

"Thats okay poppa."

He got down and Kasey slipped the paper into the envelope.

"And what was that all about Mr. Kasey?" I asked.

"I just got Sams power of attorney, we don't want him missing kindy to attend any old meetings, so I will vote for him." Jimmy couldn't stop laughing and the mood in the room changed for the better.

"Is that how you wanted it to go Jimmy?" Kase asked him.

"Perfect, thank you."

"Adam, Jimmy, there are some serious-looking pieces in there," Trish informed us.

"Yes, mostly gifts and thank you presents from adoring fans. Her family stuff is still in my safe, including her wedding and engagement rings, and items her husband gave her, but my knowledge is limited. She probably told me but I wasn't listening." Jimmy said, then went on.

"To give you an idea of what's there, her engagement ring was made by Harry Winston he adored her and had insisted he make it. There is a lot of Tiffany and of course Van Cleef and Arpels. I was going to get them all appraised but we all know the value of these brands so I left it." I looked at him.

"What do we do with it all?"

"I thought about donating it to the museum but I don't think we are ready for that yet Adam, so we sit and think about it some more. I think from memory what you have Adam is the deco and antique stuff. I slumped in the chair and when Trish came out again she was smiling.

"You and I are going to have a serious girl's night trying on all that stuff."

"I will book a security guard." I smiled.

"It's all too flashy for me Adam but there's some gorgeous stuff in that safe."

"Did you lock it up?" I asked Kase when he came back.

"Yes Adam we will revisit it later, it also has to be itemised and photographed for insurance purposes," He informed me.

"We will do that through the trust, it is insured we only have to change the address or if you want it done properly itemise it as you said, Kasey." Jimmy nodded at my man.

"How much is the insurance for?" I asked him.

"The whole collection is insured for ten mil Adam that will give you an idea of what's in my safe." I nearly fainted.

The next thing that happened this week was Kasey had to fly with dad to Canberra, we will miss him, but I also know he will be back soon. One night away from Kasey is like ten, I will cope but I will be lonely. I know I'm being selfish, but if you try and sleep without someone you love beside you, it's hard. I am lucky I have Sam we can camp out, we always sleep better when we do that anyway.

He had packed his overnight bag and grabbed his uniform bag, everything had been pressed and packaged nicely by our dry cleaning man, and he only needs two changes of clothes.

Sam had placed that photo of us in his bag so he doesn't forget us and I noticed he had written our address on the back so Kasey won't get lost this time. It was once again a rushed goodbye. I didn't want to prolong it and Kasey although excited was eager to get it all over and done with and get back to us.

Everything went to plan, he rang Sam and me and even sent us a photo of him all dressed up to go have dinner with the prime minister. Sam showed him our beds which were two sleeping bags on the floor and told him his aunty Trish was camping with us. We talked about his nice hotel room and I was eager to know what time he will be back tomorrow, but deep down I knew he wouldn't be home then. Maybe in a couple of days. That nagging feeling I had inside wasn't going to allow me to think otherwise and my biggest hint was mum and Bill would be staying tomorrow night, not tonight.

Trish arrived early and we had a nice dinner, pizza. Mick had a hot date and he had told her it might turn into an overnighter, so it was just us three. We decided after Kasey called to have a look at some of the stuff in the safe. I felt a lot better about it, it had been the initial shock of it all that threw me for a sixer.

We piled some boxes on the table and started opening them, gorgeous brooches rings ect, were revealed and we knew it was all genuine stuff. If this is what's in my safe I can't imagine what's in Jimmy's. It was wonderful and Sam tried on a few things, he looked adorable and I took many photos. I made a list of each brand and item, we had to start somewhere. Trish called out what was in each box and Sam got bored quickly and went to watch tv. It took us two hours to get through everything then we packed it all away again. Sadly my son had gone to sleep, he told me earlier, the sooner he did sleep the sooner his poppa came home. I had also warned him he may take a few days to get back, but he was okay with that and he had Billy to play with in the meantime.

We readied for bed and watched some tv for a while, Sam was in between us and sleeping soundly. When I turned the lights out I said a silent good night to my Kasey and son and I turned to Trish and wished her also. We all slept well although Trisha's back was sore when she got up, she's not used to camping out much.

Breakfast was organized and a nice photo of Kasey's medal arrived, so Sam sat and looked at it, then he was using my phone to talk to his papa.

He had a great night and received his commendation and medal along with another guy who was long overdue for a citation. We talked for some time and I walked out to the balcony and asked him when he was coming home.

"I can't get anything past you can I?"

"Well the extra underwear gave you away and the fact mum is staying tonight and not last night. I knew what you were up to anyway."

"I didn't know but I was prepared, the prime minister wants me to go through the documents with the appropriate people today, so I will be tied up in a meeting all day. I miss you both and I can't wait to get back home."

"We miss you too Kase, just get it done and come back as soon as possible."

It didn't put a downer on my day I wouldn't let it, and we had a great breakfast, we showered and I said I would see Trish at work because I had to walk my son to kindy.

He was positive and quite happy that his papa is doing something good and he couldn't wait to hear all about it when he got back.

My day was as usual full of salon smells, although as it went by it became part of the theatre that is the salon, it blended in nicely. I picked Sam up and about a half hour after we got in mum and Billy arrived. His sleepover started almost immediately, and while we had coffee they jumped under the sleeping bags and watched tv.

I asked mum if she wanted to look at some pretty jewelry and being a typical woman was eager to do that with me.

Trish had a pair of flower-style stud earrings on about six diamonds centered around a larger stone, because Trish is who I know she is, they suited her to a tee, old fashioned but modern. They were anchored on by extra sturdy clasps so they wouldn't be lost. Mum's pure deco emerald and diamond ring was stunning as it flashed in the lighting, one large square emerald surrounded by many diamonds, I took photos of each item and said they could borrow them.

They protested but I insisted they at least wear them out somewhere nice sometimes. In reality, I was lending them out because they are my family and probably would otherwise be kept in the safe forever. They had to be seen, something Adele had told me once, was never lock pretty things away, they always fade when they aren't seen.

"Trish, mum they are yours for however long you want them, let us just say they are on loan from the museum, permanently, and thank you."

"I can't take this gorgeous ring Steven, it's too good for me."

"Not in my books mum, it is begging you to wear it, it needs to be worn somewhere elegant. When is your next visit to Canberra?"

"Soon son." She laughed and put it back into the box and placed it into the pile. I took it and handed it to her then I glared at Trish what could she say, but a thank you, she will find somewhere to wear them but if she doesn't I will create a night for her. That shifted my thoughts to the opening night of the Adele Banks museum, yes that night, champagne and diamonds, a fitting tribute.

We had a great night but the boys had exhausted themselves and were fast asleep on the floor. Mum will use a bed and Trish is going home. I sat talking to mum about Kasey's Canberra thing, she said she hadn't been told but she figured they would stay at least two nights. She's used to it and said very rarely did dad stay one night, there's always something extra to do.

She showered and went to bed, I spied that ring on her finger I hope she doesn't scratch herself with it.

I did the same and crawled in with the kids, Sam had a smile on his face and Billy was holding him.

In the morning I rang Jimmy and told him what I had done, he said they are mine to do what I wanted with, as long as I knew where they were going he didn't have a problem.

"Thank you for this Adam, I had no idea what to do with them."

"We will discuss it with Kasey, he will find the answer. And also we need to have a big launch party when it's ready."

"We will, Adam I can't thank you enough for all this, it's been too long for me, and I was getting desperate."

"You can trust us, but mainly we can trust Kasey to get it all done."

Mum cooked breakfast and the boys chatted away about whatever they were watching. I had placed everything back in the safe and locked it, so my table looked nice now it's all cleared.

We thought we may take the kids to the museum today, it's Saturday so we can get lunch somewhere and maybe catch up with Jimmy if he's working. I told mum about the trust and she had a chuckle when I told her about the fed building.

"God help us if you ever get dirty on your dad again."

"I can't chuck him out there's a long lease mum. But it would be funny."

"You know he can't wear all the blame for Kasey's shortcomings Steven, your father is one of the nice guys."

"I know mum, he's military but it doesn't do him any favors sometimes, I just wish he would talk to me like a father, not a military general."

"As long as you keep in mind son, he loves you to bits and is quite happy for you to use him as a sounding board, he doesn't know what else to do except take some of your frustration on his shoulders."

"I have spoken to Kasey at length mum, and he's promised he won't go off on his own again, he knows it causes tension in the family."

"Well as long as he knows. As for promises, I will keep them to myself. I have had hundreds over the years." I took her glittery hand and kissed it.

"Did you even take it off last night mum?"

"No, it's well and truly stuck there." She held it up to the light and laughed, or was that cooing? I think that gorgeous ring and my gorgeous mum are going to be best friends for life.
