Adam
Kasey with a k
Chapter 46
Maxieplus
The screaming started around three thirty, one little boy had been picked up from kindy and the others won't be too far behind. All three of them sat on the small balcony watching for the rest to come through the pathway. The two older boys were so excited and ran when they saw Sam and Billy waving. The boys did have to go home for ten minutes to greet George and June, they found some toys and that was it. I didn't see them for another hour or so.
I went to get the sleeping bags out of the car and gave them an airing over the balcony rail, then I went to have a shower. I thought I would get my jobs out of the way before I tackled the kids.
I sat and played with my phone and my finger slipped and it started ringing Kasey. He picked up after a long connecting signal. He was back at the island and Ti was over the moon to see him fit and well again. The village had all celebrated his return and the place was crawling with military from both countries. Ti's house had been planned and he had been handed a satellite phone which he was so proud of, but who he is going to ring is anyone's guess.
Kasey had delivered plenty of rice and foodstuffs and had made a deal with a reputable supplier to take the same order to the island monthly.
He said I could pay part of that if I liked.
"I found the plans, very funny Kase."
"I thought you may have gone looking for them." He laughed down the phone.
"I have been thinking about it, and even made some plans of my own, but it would mean Sam would be left out."
"He won't be left out, believe me, he's going to have the best little boy's bedroom in the world."
"So where do I see the real plans?"
"You don't, it's all a surprise."
"Well don't you destroy the cabin, I like it this way."
"We won't." I could almost hear him grinning.
"I miss you."
"I miss you too my Adam, I can't wait to get home to you both."
"Is the medal nice?'
"Yes very sparkly and heavy, and so is the paperwork I have been handed, just to look over."
"Well, I hope it's not too hard because you still have books to read."
"I know, are you at the cabin now?"
"Yes, for a few days, Billy was missing mum so this is a distraction for him and Sam because I don't want him to start missing you."
"Okay, I have lots of presents for him and the boys next door just some wooden puppets and cars motorbikes things like that. I bought you a sarong, but Adam?"
"Yes."
"You don't wear anything under them."
"I get it, no problem." I giggled.
"Can you send me a photo?"
"In a minute, I just want to hear your voice." I was now in the bedroom rubbing one out and will film my orgasm.
I hung up and sent it to him he messaged me back and said.
"Thank you."
I had started missing him again and was on the verge of getting depressed when they all came back to the cabin. I told them about the sleepover night with pizza, and if they wanted their hair done they should sit at the table, which they did. My kids helped them with the gel and they looked much better as they all snuggled under a blanket talking nonstop. They will stay all night and I will sleep in the bedroom, I threw another log on the fire and then went to write down the pizza order. June and George had looked at the menu and I told them I will order at six. I will also order some garlic bread to go with them and some bottles of fizzy drinks.
The cartoons were playing and I went out to the porch, this would be a good time to take up smoking I think. The phone rang and it was mum checking up on Bill again. I told her he was good to go and looking forward to his camping night with the kids. I got the feeling it wasn't Bill that was homesick it was mum, and if I didn't know any better she will probably fly home tomorrow. I have no idea when dad will take over his official governor-general duties, but it could be a problem if he's flying all over the world doing ceremonies and stuff for the Australian government. I must ask him when he starts, maybe they will take Bill with them.
George and June arrived and I made coffee, June got the boys to look at the menu and Sam helped them out by telling them his one was the best. They didn't believe him and ordered their favorite toppings.
We talked for a bit then I rang the cafe, then we talked more about the renovations. George informed me that the gully belonged on our titles he had the same boundary. I thought about it and what a waste of land, you couldn't build on it it would destroy the lower forest. There was still plenty of room out the front for a big car park and garage if we wanted to build anything big that is.
Our night was most enjoyable, the pizzas did their job and everyone was full, the boys put their bedclothes on and started to watch a movie, we sat at the table and talked about the town and all the hidden houses in the area. There were more homes tucked away in the bush, mainly for people that just wanted to get out of the city, or artists and home businesses that make stuff to be sold at the once-monthly market they have in town. June was telling me that the cat had been let out of the bag, and the rumor was a hairdresser is moving to town. I laughed and told her I was thinking about opening a small salon, she suggested I set up a chair at the market, bring some staff and do cuts only for the locals. Good idea I wondered if Trish and Eva want some extra work.
I said I would get a pamphlet from Rhoda's shop when I go there tomorrow and maybe book a spot.
"You will be busy Adam, and if anyone wants a wash and set you can do them here, I must tell you the ladies are very excited."
"Maybe I had better build a garage and set it up as a salon and come here once a month to work."
"Sounds like a plan Adam, I have no idea what clientele you would get but I guess it will mainly be the kids. My boys were very popular at school when they showed off their new cuts." It didn't go unnoticed she called them her boys, and she does love them very much.
They left around eight the kids were settled and we did have some droopy eyes, I told them not to worry about them, and if there is any sign of distress I will call them. I stripped and got myself into bed an hour later, the tv had been turned off and a new log was placed into the slow burner. I sent a message to Trish and then I closed my eyes for the night. Nothing disturbed me during the night and when I looked they were all tangled together and fast asleep.
June had placed a few ideas in my head but I will have lots of time to think about them, I don't know if I want to be working nonstop on my weekends off. I did a big breakfast for the boys, plenty of scrambled eggs and toast and they all sat at the table talking about their sleep and how good it was to be camping again. I opened my phone and a message from Trish alerted me she will be up this afternoon. Evans won't be coming and she will bring the wine if I order pizza.
I sent back one and said we have a deal. I didn't want pizza again so I looked at the list and thought the lasagna would be different.
I checked the beds out Trish can take her pick where she slept. No spiders or webs were seen so I deemed everyone safe from the scary critters. I started making a list of things to buy when the boys left to go play next door. Billy was on a high and there was no sign of any sadness. I kind of moped around missing my man all morning, I watched some tv and decided I didn't have much to do up here, I may as well work. It's nicer when Kasey is here I can watch him work and we fool around a bit, but on my own, there's not much to do except relax.
I went next door and told them I was walking into town, June wanted milk so I put that on my list. Sam whispered to me he would like some chocolate so I added that with the marshmallows, then I headed off through the forest. I thought I might sit in the sun with Rhoda if she wasn't too busy.
She greeted me with a smile and made a coffee, I looked through her shop and bought Trish a crystal drop then grabbed a flier for the monthly market. She sat with me but she didn't bring her cards, she said she saw smooth sailing from now on but I didn't believe her, she doesn't know my Kasey that well.
The love birds are inseparable, it's a good thing."
"Yes, who cares what they do as long as the kids are happy and looked after." I smiled.
"Yes, she adores them and George, they are thinking they might have another child together, it will be a little girl."
"Good, someone to be spoilt rotten I think."
"There is one thing I would like to ask you, Adam?"
"Ask away."
"Can you give me a new look sometime?"
"No problem how about tomorrow, call into the cabin and I can do a full wash dry, and cut."
"Okay thank you."
"Rhoda, I think I will cut it short if that's ok with you, it's a bit of a mess at the moment."
"I don't mind, I just can't find the time to get it done so I don't bother, but short will make it more manageable."
I looked at her hair, it was long but she always ties it up in a big straggly mess.
It was nice just sitting there I nearly fell asleep, but alas I had shopping to do.
"I will see you tomorrow baby, any time that suits you will do me." I hugged her and headed for the small supermarket.
I suppose you all would have some idea how much four liters of milk weighs, plus the other stuff I needed to get. It was a very slow walk home, I had better do some more walking around my alleyways. I have been slack these past months.
After dumping the heavy stuff on June's kitchen counter I headed home, the boys were still having fun but they were inside playing twister or some game like that. I walked home and started placing my goods in the fridge and on the bench. I sat down for five minutes then went to sleep.
It was the screaming that woke me an hour later, the kids were up to something and I could hear doors slamming and plenty of wows. It was all coming from my front yard.
I got up to see what the fuss was all about and standing there were six military trucks neatly all in a row. The kids were all over them as Kasey stepped out of the cabin. I almost screamed with delight but I didn't, I just opened the front door and flew into his arms.
"Surprise."
"A very nice surprise and thank you."
I heard billy crying, mum had him in her arms and dad was patting his back, but he didn't want dad he wanted his mum.
"How come you're here, I thought you had another couple of days?"
"We didn't want to push it son. We know how you get." Dad winked hugged me and laughed at the same time.
The military men were showing the boys through their trucks, horns were beeped and George and June stood there and laughed.
Kasey held me tightly and whispered in my ear.
"I can't wait to have a nap, we left early this morning."
"I can't wait to have said nap with you." I grinned.
"Better put the coffee on baby, mum will need one." He led me inside.
"She missed Bill, and I missed you and Sam so it was decided everything was going well and we would come back early. I have a shit load of work to do, but that can wait."
As soon as the kettle was put on he grabbed and kissed me deeply, his hands were everywhere in just about every crevice he could touch.
Sam must have realized his papa was home and he burst through the door and ran into his arms for his hugs, he didn't cry he knows his papa always comes home to us.
His welcome home was short-lived, he has trucks to play with and people to talk to and salute. Dad was next in then mum. Billy still held on tightly and he wasn't listening to dad when he offered to take him for a ride in the trucks. Mum said coffee would be most welcomed then sat on the couch with him. He had calmed down a bit and after ten minutes of her talking quietly and rubbing his back, he was fast asleep.
It was all too much for him, normally we have no problem but he knows his mummy is only down the road, but this time she was flying away and that disturbed him.
"Well give me a look."
"Adam, behave yourself, kids in the room," Dad said.
"A look at your medal. You're a sick man dad."
"Sorry son." He chuckled.
Kasey rummaged through his bag and offered me a big blue suede box, when I opened it there sat a very ornate medal, it was beautiful and heavy. I believe it was gold with semi-precious stones along with the Indonesian crest, it will be a standout amongst his other ones, it was just a tad overdone.
A captain poked his head in and the general went out to talk to him, they were on their way back to base and wanted to know if he wanted anything else done. I heard him say he would like a helicopter to give the kids a ride, but there were too many trees. Then I heard him say he will have a clearing made in no time. I shouted.
"Leave my forest alone and thank you, guys."
Kasey went out and after a lot of saluting the kids ran rampant as they drove off in convoy. They all ended up in our place, they wanted to talk to the general. Mum had moved Billy to her bed and it looks like Kasey Sam and I will be sleeping on the floor tonight. My husband to be wont be very happy.
I won't put Trish off there's still plenty of room for her. Sam was talking to Kasey while the boys talked to the general, mum came out and said she was going to have a shower, and once again I am on my own. Having just done a shop there were plenty of nibbles so I placed a packet of biscuits on the table and guess who was the first to take a couple, next was his son and his mates, It didn't matter I didn't want one anyway so I opened the chocolate bar, all eyes were on me now.
I was feeling a little drained after it all died down so I told Kasey I was going for a laydown. I don't know what he did with Sam but he was in that bedroom stripping off before my head hit the pillow. The fun started and we did just about everything except swing from the rafters, we had both orgasmed, but we felt like we needed more. I pulled my underwear on and laid in his most welcoming arms, we talked a little and I fell asleep, I can't nap for too long my other guest will be calling soon.
No Kasey when I woke up I could hear Trisha's voice so I moaned and threw the blankets back. I kissed her cheek and she offered to go back home later on, but we insisted she stay.
Mum was up and Billy was in front of the tv again looking much better as dad played with his hair. The boys from next door had to go home, they had schoolwork to do and baths to get out of the way.
Sam was sitting on Kasey's lap and Trish, mum, and I sat at the table. I handed the menu to mum and she looked through it and then she wrote down which ones they wanted, Trish had her favorite, and Kasey winked at me. I will order family ones for him and dad and large ones for us tonight, I didn't feel like lasagna and there was a family special we could get which was quite cheap.
Kasey put Sam in front of the tv and sat with us, he opened his briefcase and took out a big thick folder.
"You're not going to work on it now are you?" He went red and then put it back.
"How was Ti?"
"Good Adam, he will be well set up in a few months, his status in the community has leveled up a bit, so now he's getting more respect from his elders. Their government is going to buy a tourist boat that will travel around the islands maybe stop for the night here and there and the surfing is amazing, so he will be well set up for that."
"How many rooms?'
"Six, and a bar."
"Sounds good to me, what do I owe you?"
"Nothing, it's all on the military of both countries." He smiled.
"I want to open a salon here Trish, would you be up to working it a couple of days a month, I can get Eva and Gloria to do days also."
"Have you found a shop?"
"Not yet, I was thinking a small portable granny flat or garage out the front, with two or three washbasins and chairs, nothing too elaborate."
"I will think about it then."
"I may just do cuts on the weekends we are here and there's a market once a month I can set up a chair at."
"You might be taking on too much Adam have a long think about it will you?"
"I will Trish it's only an idea at the moment." Something is going on here I don't know about, and I think that something is Kasey, he did give Trish a funny look.
I ordered dinner and placed some cutlery and plates on the table but I doubt they will use them, but mum might.
I asked her about her trip and she said she had a good time up until she rang Bill, then she remembered something and went to get their presents. The kids went ape shit and started playing with the small wooden items.
"I have more Adam, for the kids next door and Sam and Billy, but I will leave them until tomorrow," Kasey said.
"I have more also Steven, for tomorrow." Mum perked up and looked at Kasey.
The food arrived and Kasey was first to grab his one, he was really hungry apparently. They were passed to the relevant people and yes, mum grabbed a plate and cutlery. Dad was watching Billy and Sam eating he got up and poured them half a glass of fizzy drink each then came back. Kase scoffed his dinner and was looking at mine before he even finished his third slice.
"Eat slowly Kasey you will feel fuller that way."
"Are you going to eat it all?"
"No, I will leave some for you."
"Good, then I will eat slower then." He grinned.
Trish showered and dad and Billy did the same, I wiped Sam down and he will get a shower in the morning. Both boys sat and played after getting ready for bed and Kasey somehow had found some paperwork to look over.
"I have Rhoda calling in tomorrow for a wash and cut you can get your cards done again." I looked at Trish.
"Well her predictions were spot on the last time, I don't think my life has changed since then but I will give it another go."
"You do that, I thought you might have bought Evans with you."
"He's feeling a bit lost at the moment so I thought I would give him some time on his own."
I knew they weren't getting on, just the fact that he seems to be always working tells me things aren't quite right.
"Come sit and have a wine with me."
I took her out to the porch and we sat at the bar.
"Now tell me."
"Tell you what?'
"Tell me what's going on in your life."
"It's not what you think, no screaming or arguing it's just that the fun has run its race, we both knew it wasn't a full-on romance like yours and Kaseys. I will stay until Monday Adam if you don't mind, he's moving out."
"I'm so sorry Trish I thought you got along with Evans well."
"We do Adam, but we were and are just really good friends in the end."
"Where is he going?'
"To the airport, the job came with an apartment at a hotel nearby. Adam, we have talked it all out and he feels he's let everyone down. Please don't treat him any differently he feels bad enough."
"You know I wouldn't, he's a vital part of our family, are you going to cope with having him around sometimes?"
"Yes baby, all good he said he feels like he's let you down the most, love him or hate him he loves you the most Adam."
"I see, I had better start giving him some stick again and maybe a bum pat occasionally."
"Be my guest, he's a lovely man Adam, but his family does his head in, to the point it almost consumes him."
"He has to change that Trish, apart from his father treating him badly was there anything else he has done to make them cool towards him?"
"Not that he knows Adam, his father just doesn't like him for some reason. His siblings love him his mum does also but it's just the father when he's around. I think he hates everybody."
"This needs more investigating Trish, leave it to me."
She laughed.
"What are you going to do, complain about the rum or something?"
"I will think about it and form a plan of attack." I hugged her. No tears were coming from Trish she's a very strong lady, and I get that things haven't been romantically the best for my friend, shame Admiral Peters wants to date Gloria, I could have put in a good word for Trish.
Billy opted to sleep with his mum and dad, so we got Sam to ourselves. He was dead to the world by nine and mum was tired so took Bill off to bed after saying her goodnights. Dad and Kasey were still looking through paperwork and I noticed the separate stacks were appearing again.
He showered then we readied ourselves for bed around eleven. I was passed a sarong and he showed me how to wear it, then he slipped into the sleeping bag and showed me how it's all done. Island style.
After another wonderful sleep and some very nice kisses, the sunshine in the morning greeted me. I could see Trish on the porch having her coffee so I got up and wrapped the fabric around me then went to slip on some sweatpants, Kasey moaned and dad came out.
I poked my head out and said good morning to Trish she held her coffee cup up and I took it, she wants more.
Dad showered and then made his drink, he sat at the table, and Kasey with Sam in tow by now was looking for a drink. I asked mum if she wanted hers in bed and she accepted my offer. Billy was readying himself to have a great day with the kids next door. He came out fully dressed and sat with Sam, so I gave them some milo this morning. I took ours out and sat with Trish, she was lamenting how beautiful it was in the morning and I agreed it was the best time of day.
"So what are you going to do with the apartment are you going to find a new flatmate or just leave it?"
"I don't know, I don't like living by myself so maybe I will ask around, little extra cash for me." She giggled because she gets it for free, but only we know that.
"Maybe Gloria will be up for it, the Admiral might have some cool friends."
"Maybe Adam, I don't know as yet."
"When you know let me know will you?"
"I will, it has to be someone compatible with the building and someone you like." I sat there and thought about it but came up with nothing, what she needs is a full-on lover, that hasn't got any baggage. I did think some time ago about Trisha's situation and thought it may have been her that put people off but I couldn't find anything wrong with her, she's just particular I guess.
Mum poked her head out and asked what we wanted for breakfast, we both moved to give her a hand. Trish manned the toast and baked beans for the kids and mum and I cracked eggs chopped mushrooms and tomatoes and fried the bacon for us all and hopefully, there will be some beans left. Kasey was reading again and dad was watching him, he passed a paper over to him and said.
"Look at this, it's the missing link."
"For the whole debacle?"
"No just the first one I've found there will be more, put it on that stack dad." Umm, my father puffed up he's so proud of his military boy.
Knives and forks clinked on the plates and we all sat together and had a great breakfast. Mum and dad won't be going home today they wanted to give Billy a chance to play some more, we didn't mind in the least and I said I will make a big casserole for dinner and we can have sandwiches for lunch.
Trish showered and then she wanted to go for a walk into town, the boys scooted off to find their mates and Kasey read. I waited for Rhoda to arrive she had messaged me she was on her way. I set everything up and she was leaning over the wash basin five minutes after she called. Because it was a sunny morning I sat her on the porch, it's easier to sweep out there. I clipped away and her shaggy hair disappeared and now I can see her beautiful face. I thought about it long and hard but in the end, I decided that a shoulder-length bob was the best style for her. I plugged in the dryer and continued to work my magic, she was very happy with the result and everyone fussed over her. Coffee was produced with biscuits and Trish returned then fussed some more. She sat at the table after placing her shopping in the fridge and I listened as her cards were read. Nothing new was forthcoming Trish said. I handed her the crystal I had bought and she placed it around her neck.
Kasey thought of something and then went to get his shopping, he displayed it all on the couch and will tell the boys to pick a few each, not to be outdone mum did the same she had different stuff so there was no doubling up.
Kase went to the front door and screamed for them to come over here, then he told them their presents were all unpacked. Among the yelling and giggling, I think they were equally dealt out then they started playing with them.
Again Trish, mum, and I sat on the porch it was so nice out there today, Rhoda slipped next door to show off her new locks and I said I would catch up with her later on. We talked about many things and mainly my question was when did dad think his new role will kick in?
"It already has son, he's doing it from his Brisbane office. He only has to sign government papers and maybe we will go overseas a few times officially, but we will be taking Billy at the moment, he's not ready to be left alone for a long period."
"Good, I'm pleased you will do that, he was okay it was just your voice that got him missing you."
"I know son, you were the same."
"Still am." I smiled.
"Adam I have been thinking about you opening a salon up here. I have a suggestion."
"Yes, Trish I am all ears."
"Why don't you get a small portable and hook it all up, and do cuts once a month, that way the clients will know when your open and if you aren't coming here, I can or Eva will."
"Sounds like the plan I have in my head."
"Yes, the first Monday of the month or something like that."
"I think I will need an assistant because it won't only be the cuts, there will be sets."
"Done then, at the moment I am free and will come help you fifty-fifty on the cash clients, deal?" I slapped her hand and answered yes.
"We will have to do a charge sheet, Adam,"
"I will leave the money side of it up to you Trish." There's nothing like passing the buck, she giggled. It will be a bit cheaper up here we cant charge salon prices.
We did much the same as yesterday and the girls helped me put the casserole together and I placed it on top of the wood fire, then we made a lot of sandwiches. Trish had bought some cold meats from town and my holiday cabin looked like a bomb had gone off. Kasey was lining his paperwork up against the porch window, the kids had toys everywhere and dad sat there laughing. He got on the phone and I looked at him and said.
"No helicopters." Instead, we got three jeeps and plenty of rides up and down the road. Lunch was a snatch-and-grab moment and then naps were now needed. June come looking for the kids she talked them into going home to have theirs, citing she hadn't seen them all day.
It all quietened down for a while as Sam and Billy slept with dad in his room then the jeeps turned up and everyone was up. Kasey was coaxed into having a short nap with me in Trish's bedroom, she had gone off with the kids and mum. Again it was a wonderful day and the next day we weren't as happy because we knew we had to go home. Trish was the first to leave and mum and dad came with us.
We made sure everything was locked up and my car looked like it was hauling an army troop, it was so packed. I looked at it and started loading stuff into Trish's boot, we can get it later.
We waved her goodbye and the kids said a long farewell to their mates. Mum and Kasey were thanked for the presents and we left our little cabin to return on our own next time.
No Maccas this time just straight home where dad grabbed the supermarket trolley and walked it fully loaded upstairs. They will take our car home and dad will hitch a ride home tomorrow after driving it to work. They had coffee and then they left after many hugs, the first thing Sam did was fall asleep on the sofa that was Kasey's cue to molest me in the bedroom.
"I missed you Adam with an a."
"Me too Kasey with a k, very much."
"Can we go again?"
"Of course." I won't argue.
