Jason Chapter 4
"NO!! NO!!!! NO!!!" A dark shadow of a hulking man that was at the same time his Dad and Mike and Gerry was coming at him in the shadows. He was running but not getting anywhere. Fists were flying at him as he tried to get away. "NOOOOOoooo!!!! Jason scream for help in the most intense and vivid terror he had ever experienced. He tried to get away but found himself cornered ... the man whoever he was coming at him. He screamed as he saw the man had what looked like a baseball bat and was about to bring it down on him
Austin woke with start hearing a bloodcurdling scream coming from down the hall. "NOOOOOO!!!!" It took him a second to get his bearings and realize it must be Jason. He flew out of bed almost tripping as the sheet caught his foot. Another scream came from behind the door to Jason's room.
The room was dark but as Austin looked first at the bed and then around the room he saw huddled and cowering in the corner furthest away from the door Jason his arms up over his head trying to defend himself against something.
Austin wasn't sure how to proceed, he couldn't just touch the boy but he knew he had to be careful how he woke him up. That Jason was having a horrible night terror was not in doubt.
"Jason" he called not loudly..." Jason it's ok now" The boy continued to move his arms in defence but there was a slight change in his demeanour the second time Austin called his name
Austin moved in closer to Jason. And crouched down "Jason" he said somewhat more quietly... "It's ok I'm here"
"Don't hurt me. Please don't hurt me" Jason was now sobbing. "Why are you doing this to me?"
"Who Jason who is hurting you?"
"Huh?' There was a pause Jason started to slowly wake up Austin could see him relaxing somewhat.
"Come on lets get you back into bed ok"
The dream was gone... Jason suddenly woke up and stared with huge eyes at a man that was crouched in front of him.
"Wha!??!?" He tried to get up but fell back
"Jason! It's me; Austin... you had a bad dream" Austin said quickly trying to steady Jason
Jason stared at him and slowly nodded "Oh" He felt himself being helped up and then into bed He felt himself being held close and gently being laid down and covered. "You're ok now, I won't let anyone hurt you" The words were soothing and comforting. He closed his eyes as he felt the warmth of the bedclothes covering him
Austin whose heart was still pounding sat on the edge of the bed and watched Jason for several moments. The boy snuggled right under the blankets and seemed to immediately go back to sleep, that is if he had even woken up. When he was satisfied that the boy was asleep he gently touched Jason's cheek, and went back to his room.
It took him some time to get back to sleep. He wondered who many more nights of these terrors Jason and by default he was going to suffer through. He would have to ask his Mum what he should be doing to help Jason. She would know. He finally drifted off.
The next morning Jason walked into the kitchen as Austin was putting the kettle on. "Hi" He said to the older man.
G'morning, did you sleep alright after the dream?"
Jason furrowed his brow "the dream?" He asked
Yeah man you were screaming about someone hurting you, I had to wake you up and get you back into bed"
Jason bowed his head "I'm sorry, I ... I don't remember the dream"
"It's just as well, whatever it was you were pretty scared"
Austin saw that the boy was a little disconcerted so he didn't press the matter. "So what do you want for breakfast? Or do you want to shower first?"
"Uh well what ever is easier for you Austin?"
"Doesn't matter to me I've got to shower at some point but we can have breakfast first and then you can get cleaned up while I tidy up the kitchen... Bacon and eggs ok?"
Jason shrugged and nodded. "Yeah that will be good. I'll put the toast in"
With that first moment of discomfort over Jason relaxed again. Austin hadn't attacked him during the night. He didn't remember the dream but Austin didn't seem to be too concerned and had let it drop.
They were soon sitting down to eat. Neither said much. Both men were deep in thought about the up coming meeting at Children's Aid.
Presently the phone rang. Jason was closest to the phone so Austin nodded for him to get it.
"Hello?"
Jason's face lit up "Hi Gramma, yeah he is here"
Jason passed the phone to Austin "It's your mom"
"Hi Mum, what's up?"
"Austin would it help if your Dad and I came to hearing as well? We would like to show them that we are together as a whole family unit to help Jason."
"Well Mum that might help if they let you into the hearing. I'll ask Jason what he thinks."
Austin put his hand over the phone "Mum and Dad want to know if that could come to the hearing with us, what do you think?"
"You think they could ?" Jason asked.
"Well the worst thing that would happen is that they are told that they can't be there."
"I'd like them to be there Austin" Jason said
"Mum? Yeah the hearing is at nine. You know where it is ?"
"He is ok with it?"
"Yes ,Jason would like you to be there."
OK good well meet you there then, we know where it is."
OK we'll see you there then"
Austin passed the phone back to Jason to hang up.
OK we had better get moving... you take a shower first" said Austin we gotta be out of here in about a half hour.
Jason hurried down the hall got a change of underwear and went to the bathroom. Austin cleaned up the dishes as the shower ran.
Jason allowed himself to luxuriate in the warm water of the shower generously caressing his wet body. He smiled. He couldn't believe that he was so lucky. Not a week ago he was living with a drunk who hated him. He ran off and got raped and then just as though he had stepped into another world he was being taken care of by a good man and his parents who loved him like their own grandson. He knew he didn't have a lot of time but he took his cock swollen by the warm water and the way he was feeling right then and quickly brought himself to an overwhelming orgasm that tore a loud groan from his throat.
A couple minutes later he was drying himself his heart still pounding from the moment. Dry he pulled on his new boxers and scurried across the hall to his room, calling to Austin that the bathroom was free.
It was just before nine o'clock Austin's parents and Jason getting a hug from "Gramma" and Austin entered the building where the next few months of Jason's life would be determined.
Austin went to the front counter and gave his name. They sat in the waiting room for several minutes before a young woman came out and called his name.
When the four of them stood up she looked somewhat surprised. Mr. Miller? "Yes that's me" Austin replied "We are here for the placement hearing for Jason Farsmith"
Jason moved up and said... "I'm Jason"
"And who are these people?"
"They're my Gramma and Grampa Miller ma'am" Jason said before anyone could respond. "They're here to be with us"
"Okay" the woman said slowly and uncertainly. "Uh... come with me then"
They were led into a large room that looked like a board room with a long table surrounded by chairs. At one end of the table sat another older woman with some papers in front of her. She looked up as they all trooped in.
"Jason Farsmith ma'am" the young woman said in way of introduction.
"OK Kathy thanks"
The woman stood up and introduced herself. "Good morning I'll Clara Goldschiem, I will be your case worker, at least till June when you turn 18" She said to Jason with a smile offering her hand." Now who are these folk?"
She looked at Austin "you must be Austin Miller?"
"Yes Ma'am"
She shook his hand and turned to Austin's parents who were standing back a bit not sure now that they should be there.
Again Jason spoke up "This is my Gramma and Grampa Miller, Austin's folks" he said with a big grin on his face. As he spoke he reached and put his arm over Mrs Miller's shoulder and squeezed her close.
"Well you are obviously settling in Jason. That is great to see" Clara laughed. "Why don't we sit down."
Ok I am going to do this rather informally, though while you are almost 18 and as a result this will be only a temporary placement I do take this very seriously. You have been through some awful times Jason and I need to be sure that you are properly being cared for."
Clara went through a series of questions that she had prepared both for Jason and Austin. Some very personal. Mrs. Miller when she heard what Gerry and Mike had done to him she grabbed his arm and gasped. "Oh Jason I'm so sorry"
Jason was crying as he related his time with his father. It was very difficult for all of them to hear about his life. Yet it was he who with a genuine smile on his face finally said "Ma'am Austin found me at the rest stop, he could have left me there but he didn't, He brought me to the hospital, he could have left me there but he didn't. He had the police find and arrest Gerry and Mike, he didn't have to but he did. When my dad came in to the hospital and attacked me Austin put himself between me and my dad. He didn't have to but he did. When he brought me to his Mum and Dad's place they took me in and called me their grandson and treated me just like a grandson too. They didn't have to but they did" Jason took a deep breath as he finished his litany "They're the only family I have ma'am. They said they want me and I want to stay with them
"Well Jason that is quite a recommendation you give these people, I just have one concern. I see here that Mr. Miller, Austin is gay, did you know that? What if he tries to rape you like Gerry and Mike did?"
Jason felt a strange rage build up inside him, this was not anger about something done to him but anger about something that was being said against Austin. He had never felt defensive anger for someone else in his life.
"I know he is gay! So am I!" his voice rising. Gramma touched his arm causing him to glance over at her. Clara was taken aback by the outburst and the admission. She also saw the boy's features completely soften as the older woman touched his arm He bowed his head
"I'm sorry" he said "Austin wouldn't hurt me. He told me that he was gay but he is not like Mike and Gerry, he let me decide for myself if I want to stay with him. I trust him Ma'am." He paused and looked around the room, "I finally have a family and I don't want to lose them"
Clara smiled all around. "Mr. Miller... junior, are you willing to take his young man into your care for the next few months?"
Yes ma'am I really do and I will take care of him with my life"
"I do believe you will Mr Miller, I do believe you will" she closed the docket before her and got to her feet. Then you had better bring the lad home and get him back to school." She reached out and shook Austin's hand and the Jason's. "Son" she said to Jason "I'm sorry for all the things that have happened to you and I wish you all the best for the future, I think you do have a family here that truly loves you and I'm happy for you."
Jason took her hand and pulled her into a hug "Thank you so much"
Clara knew that for all his troubles she was in the hug of a very sensitive and gentle young man. How had he survived?
There tears and hugs all around. Clara had Austin sign some papers with a promise of a visit some 5 days hence to finalize everything and they were off, in high spirits..
"This calls for a celebration lunch" Said `Grampa' "Do you like Italian Jason? There is a great little Italian restaurant downtown excellent food"
"This is the best day of my life ...dad" he said to Austin.
