Lahaina is a beautiful place that used to be a whaling town back in the day. The original capital of Hawaii, the original capital building is near the center of the town on the left under the Banyan tree. We decided to visit the old capital and found a parking lot just across the street from the elementary school. We parked, locked up the car and started walking.
The Banyan tree is huge. Just to walk around the crown of the tree is a quarter mile walk. The tree was only 8 feet tall when it was planted in 1873 to celebrate the arrival of the first missionaries to visit the island. The limbs are huge and drop roots to the ground to support the weight of the limbs. We took the time to take the camera out and take pictures of us sitting on several different limbs. The tree provided a lot of shade with a cool breeze blowing through.
We walked toward the business hub and on the left was the open-air restaurant Dad spoke about. It was right at the spot where tourists from cruise ships came on shore. There were so many shops to see. Our favorite was a shop where the owners dive all over the world taking underwater pictures and then have them printed on tin. The colors were eyepopping and very beautiful.
Dale and Charley wanted to see the Kapalua Trail so we headed that way and took the two-mile walk. We ended up on a beautiful beach where we sat and watched the waves coming in. It was private with nobody around, so Dale took some liberty and slid his hand inside Charley's pants and began to rub. A few minutes later we saw Charley close and squint his eyes as he filled Dales hand with his love juice. Dale cleaned his hand off in the saw grass and then washed his hands in the ocean water.
When Dale got back to the group and sat down, Charley pulled him in for a tender kiss. Charley laid his head on Dale's shoulder and they sat there with their hands around each other's waists. We got up and walked the two miles back to Lahaina. When we got back, we walked down front street and took in all the shops. The only real local art was at the art gallery. We rode down to Napili and Little beaches and they were nothing short of beautiful, Unlike in the states, the beaches were pristine.
We did visit the Wo Hing Buddhist Temple in Lahaina. The architecture is exquisite and the furnishings original. Many artifacts are in the display cases and there is a little shop inside to purchase mementos. The pictures we took will be our mementos. We rode up to the Maui Aquarium. It was small but nice. Of particular beauty was the marina behind the aquarium. The colors of all the boats together made for a beautiful picturesque view.
We traveled to central Kihei to Kama`olé I Beach. Since there was a beach camera, I called mom at home and Peyton called his parents and we told them to go to the computer and type Kam 1 Beach Cam in the web browser. When they did that, the beach came up on their computer and we started waving. Both moms and Dad were surprised to see us at the beach. It was awesome to share that moment with them. Charley and Dale called their parents and got them to do the same. They were shocked to see us in real time. All our parents were beside themselves to get to actually see us in Hawaii. We sent our love and then turned right to go over the hill to little beach.
We got a real surprise when we got to little beach: it is a nude beach, so we got nude and laid in the sun on our beach towels. We got a little red on both sides before we dressed and went south to visit Kam 2 and 3 beaches. Kam 3 was a nice little beach where we did some snorkeling over the reef. It was more beautiful than we had imagined. We would get a portable underwater camera and go back for pictures.
We heard about a smoke shop across the street where Charlie Nelson bought his supplies' for smoking his special weed" product. When we got over there, sure enough Charlie Nelson was jamming so we sat down and enjoyed the show. We even got to sing along with a lot of the songs he sang. We shook his hand after he stopped playing and told him we had just gotten married and this was the jewel of the trip so far. Charley wished us well and took a picture with us before he left for his home.
"Wow, that was so awesome. I'll never forget that," Dale said. Peyton said, "we won't forget it either."
It was lunch time so we headed back to Lahaina to eat at a little restaurant we saw called Down Stairs. We all got the fish sandwich made with local fish, mango salsa, tartar, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and a King's Hawaiian bun. It was decadent. That's the only way to describe it. We had a fruit tea with our meal that proved to be the crowning touch to the meal.
For the afternoon, we went to the 0ld sugar mill for a tour of the now closed factory. We found it extremely interesting how sugar was made and the huge amount of water needed to make one 5-pound bag of sugar.
Since we heard that the road from Wailuku back to Kaanapali was rather `exciting,' We decided to take that route back to the resort.
That road was so narrow we were scared to death by the time we got back to the resort. If you are going from the resort around to Wailuku, you really had to hug the mountain rock and pray you didn't take the side off your vehicle. The scenery was gorgeous if you were able to look at it. It's not easy to see with your eyes closed, and your hands were clasped as your prayed to get to the resort as quickly and as safely as possible.
We decided to take a nap when we got back to our rooms. Dale had gotten us a bit horny with what he did at the beach in Lahaina, so we stripped down, pulled the sheets back and laid down in a 6/9 position. We took our time and went very slowly so we each could really enjoy the fellatio. We edged each other over and over again until Peyton was begging for a release. I thought he had been edged enough and I made a certain move and he went over the edge fast and furiously. That sent me over the edge a well. I got us a warm cloth and we cleaned up and then took a long nap.
Dinner time was near, so we got up, freshened ourselves and got ready to go to dinner downstairs at the resort restaurant. We all decided to try the AHI POKE TOWER that consisted of Ahi seasoned with shoyu, Maui onions and seaweed, served on top of guacamole and Pico de Gallo, topped with fried capers and a drizzle of sweet Thai chili sauce with a side of won ton chips. It was rather inexpensive and one of the best things we have eaten so far.
We were rather tired today, so while the sun was still up, we took the camera down to the beach and found some Adirondack chairs where we sat down and watched and photographed the most beautiful sunset we had ever seen. Back in the room, the sunburn we got at the beach was a little uncomfortable. Luckily a friend had told us about a product called Bigeloil that stops the sunburn pain in its tracks. We had picked up some when we got to Maui and it really worked. We never felt the burn again; however we sat around the rest of the night in our boxer briefs to be more comfortable. We were watching old movies on cable and I noticed that Charley was sitting on Dale's lap with Dale's arms holding him while Charley laid his head on Dale's shoulder and slept. I was holding Peyton in my lap, and like Charley, he was fast asleep with his head resting on my right shoulder.
Dale carried Charley to bed and I carried Peyton and laid him on the bed on his left side. He never woke up, so I went around and got in the bed and snuggled up to Peyton with my arm around him. That is the way we slept for the remainder of the night.
Tomorrow, we would go to the Haleakala Volcano see and photograph the sun as it started to rise. Thankfully Dad made the reservations when our trip was booked. Peyton and the guys asked what Haleakala was like, so we googled it on the Internet and found a government site with beautiful pictures of the sunrises and sunsets. It is 10,200 feet high, extremely cold at the summit as compared to Maui's general temperature. Sometimes there is snow on the cap. At night, it is the quietest place on earth with sound measuring in the negative decibels.
We got to the summit at 5:15 am and got a great spot at the railing to take pictures of the sunrise. We were not disappointed. It was the most beautiful sunrise either of us had ever seen. The sun and the colors spreading across the tops of the clouds, it was breathtaking. I don't think anything could top this. We would be returning this evening to see the sunset.
We had heard a lot about the Kula Lodge on the Haleakala Highway so we called and got reservations for four at 1 pm. We got there in plenty of time and looked around. The tables outside behind the restaurant overlooked the valley. To say it was serene and beautiful wouldn't do this restaurant justice. I got the prime rib sandwich, Jaiden got the Reuben, Dale got prime rib stroganoff, and Charley pulled up the rear by getting the Braised Beef Boneless Short Ribs. We did the taste your plate again and all the food was awesome. A restaurant of this caliber would be a once a week treat.
We headed back to Haleakala for the sunset. The golden sunset was a henna color like you would see in old 1800 styled pictures. The sunrise was the most beautiful of the two, but we enjoyed both.
We headed back to the resort getting there as the tide was going out. We went to the room and changed into tees and shorts. We took advantage of the cool sand and went for a long stroll barefoot on the beach. It was so romantic. We found a little hideaway inside some shrubs and Peyton and I took advantage of that. We cuddled on the ground, kissed, made out a bit and then gave each other a BJ right there on the beach. The cool trade winds blowing in over our nude bodies was so exhilarating. We held each other and looked in each other's eyes gently stroking each other's faces until we thought it time to put our clothes back on. We got up and walked down the beach a bit more and saw that Dale and Charlie had found a similar spot. They lay there naked as jaybirds with their `flag poles' at full mast, fast asleep.
We woke Charley and Dale and they dressed and we headed for the resort.
