It's Money Honey
Chapter 14
Game time
“Hey Baby.” I said as I answered Brad's call.
“Hey Babes.”
“I'm about to go get Fay and Nicki. Sammy can't come to the game so it'll just be the 4 of us.”
“Okay. The tickets are all front row, home side.”
“Damn, I wanted visitor.” I jokingly scoffed as I locked the door to my condo.
“I know, I know. But you're stuck with my side.”
“I know, such a shame.”
“Yeah, I know what you mean. I just hate myself sometimes.”
“Okay Babes, go to practice. I'll text you when I get to the stadium.”
“Okay. Can't wait to see you.”
“Won't be that long. Don't forget about tonight.”
“I won't. I mean, I didn't”
“Sure. Now go, not much longer Baby.”
“I know. I know. Not much longer.”

Pulling into my house I pulled my G55 into the open garage bay and quickly shut it off. I had to switch cars from the G55 to something with a full tank of gas. I didn't have time to go the gas station and fill up, and my house was on the way to Fay's where Nicki already was, luckily.
“Hey Fay.” I said as I answered the phone, quietly shutting the garage door and walking across the house to the other set of bays.
“Where are you?”
“Sorry, had to stop and get gas. I'll be there in a few minutes, promise.” I said quietly opening the other door to the garage and turning on the lights.
“Okay, hurry. I wanna get a good seat.”
“Assigned seating Fay.”
“Oh, okay. Hurry.” She said as she hung up and I dug the keys to the Phantom out of the lock box.
Pulling out of the garage I was quick to get out onto the main road and then off the island onto the causeway.

“Hey.” I said as Nicki and Fay got in, Fay sitting up front with me.
“Hey.” They said in unison.
“What took you so long?” Nicki asked from the backseat.
“Sorry, low on gas.” I answered, speeding out of Fay's condo building and back onto the causeway.
“Maybe you should invest in a hybrid. Better mileage.” He offered.
“Eh, I'm good for now.” I pressed a little harder down on the accelerator to speed up and pass the slower SUV.
“Sure. You know you wanna be one of those Green Freaks.”
“Not really. They're all insane about the environment and shit. Way over the top.” I scoffed turning off the causeway, heading towards the stadium.
The rest of the ride was spent in silence, except for the low noise from the radio. It didn't take much longer to get to the stadium. I debated parking in regular parking but then decided against it after seeing valet parking which was right by the box office. Fay hooked her arm through mine as we walked up to the will call window with Nicki following behind us.
“Hi, 3 tickets under the name Jason Vutali.” I said, reaching for my wallet in my back pocket.
“It's okay Mr. Vutali. Everyone knows you in this city, especially after they announced your award today.” The young, blond, busty, clerk said as she handed me the tickets.
“What award?” I asked, truly unknowing of what the hell she was talking about.
“Oh, the Forbes richest persons award. It’s all over the news.” She smiled as I was lost for words.
“Oh, that one. Of course. I've just been so busy with work lately it just slipped my mind.” Damn I'm good at bullshitting sometimes.
“Well, enjoy the game.” She said as I was dragged away by Fay while I was in awe, trying to think about the award and what the hell she meant.
“Fay, do you anything about what she was talking about?” I asked as we walked to our seats.
“Not a clue. She said it was in the news today. I wasn't watching any of it. Nicki?”
“Same here. Not a clue.” He added from behind us.
“Okay. I'll figure it out later. I was at the office all day so I couldn't even watch TV.” we walked down the dimly light hall, leading out to the seats. We were the first row, right behind the home bench.
“Well don't worry about it right now. Just enjoy the game.” Fay said as we found our seats just as the roofed to the stadium was closed all because they were expecting a little rain tonight.
“Oh, I forgot to text Brad.” I said, pulling my cell phone out from my pocket.
<Hey Babes, Sorry meant to text you before we found our seats. Well, we did. Front row, right behind the home bench. Good luck today. I know you guys will win.>
“So how long until the game starts?” Nicki asked.
“15 minutes.” I answered checking my watch.
“Perfect. I'm going to get something to drink. Want anything?”
“Yeah, a Coke for me, please.” Fay answered.
“Sprite for me.” I added.
I could tell there was something on Fay's mind. She had turned briefly to watch for Nicki, the minute he left she pursed her lips then turned to me. The first words out of her mouth didn't seem to come out as if she didn't seem to know how to say it.
“What's wrong with him? He seems down.” Fay asked timidly.
“I'm not sure. He’s been fine the last couple of days.” I added.
“Yeah, I know. And he’s normally not like this.”
“I know. Its really strange.”
“Yeah it is. I'm worried about him.”
“Here ya go.” He said handing us our drinks.
“Thanks.” I said with Fay echoing me.
We still had a few minutes until the game started which left the three of us sitting in mainly silence. Fay had rested her head against my shoulder and Nicki was on his phone, doing something. I was looking up at the top of the stadium. The top was lined with box seats, not a lot, but still enough to run around the whole stadium. I noticed the ones overlooking the End-Zones were filled with people and it looked like there were parties going on. Both had signs for either Barry University or Florida State. I was guessing those were reserved for the booster clubs or something dealing with the teams.
“Welcome one and all to Miami Stadium where tonight we not only have two great teams facing off tonight but we also have some Miami royalty here with us in the stands tonight.” The announcers voice came over the speakers as the lights were dimmed and the spot lights searched the crowds. “I would like to give a very warm welcome to the one and only Jason Vutali for showing his support for our team.” All the lights stopped surfing the crowds and surged towards me. Being my cue I stood and waved to the crowds as a camera was pointed towards me as well. “There he is, only 18, almost 19, and running one of the largest companies in the country currently. Amazing really.” Fay stood up next to me placing her hand on my shoulder while I slid my arm around her house and she leaned in, placing a kiss on my cheek.
“There we go! Such a beautiful young lady accompanying the wonderful Prince of Miami.” I had heard that nickname a few times before. I'm not sure who started it or who came up with the idea but who really cares.
“Moving on its time to introduce the teams.” The lights and camera were dropped from me and Fay as they were brought over to the home team locker room entrance. I really wasn't paying attention as he announced each player on the main team, until he announced Brad.
“Now, it’s time for the star of the team, the best quarterback we've had here in a very long time. And here he is! BRAD DALTON!” Just as he said his name the crowd went wild. Me, Fay, and Nicki all stood, applauding him as he jogged out of the locker room. After the crowd settled down he went on to announce the opposing team which didn't get as much of loud response as our team did. Not surprising. It’s expected to happen when a team plays a home game.

Yet again, Brad threw an amazing spiral to the running back to score the winning touchdown. The crowd again went ecstatic when he did this, especially the three of us. At the end of the game Brad waved to the crowd, and even then he did it a little longer towards us than he did everyone else. I waited a few minutes to get up and make my way back to the valet stand and find Brad.
I felt my phone vibrating in pocket which I knew meant Brad was texting me.
<Hey Babes. Where did you park?>
<Valeted the car this time.>
<Okay. I'll meet you guys out there.>
<Okay. You did great today.>
<Thanks. You're my new lucky charm.>
<I'm fine with that.>
I put my phone back into my pocket as we walked back down the hall towards the stadium entrance. Fay had her arm through mine with her head resting against my shoulder. Nicki was a few steps behind us, clearly sulking over something. Neither Fay nor I had any idea what he was sulking over. As we walked into the large common area where all the concession stands were Brad seemed to pop out of nowhere.
“Hey Cutie.” He said from behind me, making me jump a little.
“Damn. Scare me why don't you?” I asked as I turned to see him standing there with that usual dazzling smile of his across his face.
“Sorry 'bout that.” He said as Nicki and Fay turned to stand with us. “Hey Fay.” He said, leaning over and hugging her. “Hey Nicki.” They shook hands as Nicki mumbled something I couldn't hear.
“Come on, I need to get you guys home.” I said as I turned and began walking towards the entrance.
“Yeah, you children need to get to bed.” Brad added as he walked with Nicki behind me and Fay.
“Hey, we're not all children, only Nicki. He is the youngest.” Fay quipped turning to look at Brad and Nicki.
Walking out to the valet stand there was a long line under the overhang. The rain was coming down heavy and with the slight breeze even standing under the overhang I was getting hit with a slight mist. That was until the attendant noticed that I was standing in line.
“Mr. Vutali. Your car is ready.” He said walking over to us in line and unhooking the black velvet rope and holding the umbrella out for me. He was holding another umbrella unopened for Nicki and Brad.
“Thank you.” I said taking the umbrella from him and walking to the car. I heard a few people whispering to one another, I really didn't care though. I normally ignored them and I had planned on it again. Even in the dark of the cloudy night the diamond black paint job sparkled in the moon light.
“So you do have the real thing.” Brad commented as he got in the back seat with Nicki.
“Well of course I do. It is me Baby.” I replied, taking off from the valet.
TO BE CONTINUED. . .
So after this there are only 7 chapters remaining! It's so close. I hope you guys are enjoying the story so far. I meant to have this chapter out a couple days ago but I've been sidetracked all week. Well anyway I should have more time to take care of this story now. Also, I'm in the process of preparing another story to be posted soon enough. I think you'll all enjoy it. I know it's been fun writing the few chapters I have done so far. I just want a few more before posting. It won't be as long as these, well the longer ones but, well maybe. I haven't had time to compare. Anyway, I'll post a link to it here as well as in the update emails.
For all those Twitter-holics and Crack(Face)Bookers, this story has both now!
