Incubus II C1

My name is Dick and I am an Incubus. 4 years ago, my friends needed me. They were imprisoned in a facility designed to turn them into white collar, missionary loving heterosexual men. They crossed the wrong person when they did that. I went to save them and ended up incarcerated myself. I ended up building a power base and eventually giving testimony that shut the place down.

After breaking ties with my mother, who spouted some weird nonsense at me, I returned home to Hawaii, where I learned more about past Incubi and their problems with our female counterparts, the Succubi.

As much as I wanted to return to as normal a life as possible, life doesn't work that way. We took in young runaway, Olivia, who is a succubus, but doesn't want to do evil things anymore. She even broke the curse on my first lover, Chad, and has been showing us how to break other succubi curses. She may be a succubus, but she does have a big heart.

Now 4 years later and life has changed dramatically. Dad moved with Olivia to the Philippines, where he is teaching her what life truly has to offer outside of a life of sucking men dry of all their life energy. He told me in confidence that he has a way of cleansing her of the demon trying to take her over and there they have a better chance of it.

Meanwhile, he has left me in control of his financial holdings. I brought Jimmy, Joey, and Shane with me when we moved from Hawaii to New York, leaving the Hawaiian House in the hands of Chad and Adam, another friend of ours working through his medical residency.

We moved to a large penthouse apartment on top of a hotel in the Upper East Side. The penthouse was high up in the air, on the 51st floor, and was three stories tall. It had 4 master suites and 6 smaller guest rooms. We decorated our rooms to our liking and Jimmy and Joey had, at last, stopped sharing one room.

In the three years since we moved here, we hosted regular events to promote our interests. These fundraisers brought in money from socialites that allowed us to give away our services pro bono to those who could not afford them. Every day, the twins, Shane, and I would give fertility, health, and support to those in this city and others who needed it the most. The three of them became my official proxies, allowing them to gather energy for me and to distribute my power to those who needed it.

In the contract we had made, they agreed to never abuse the power, to never force themselves on others, and to be responsible to all other beings. If they broke this contract, then they would lose everything. If they spoke about my secret to anyone and failed to erase memories afterwards, then the contract would be broken.

One of the good things about New York, is that there are a lot of gay men that are `out'. It makes finding lovers so much easier. But as close as I want to get to someone, I find that there is always something holding me back.

Upper West Side – Family Health Services run by the Ross-Ford Family

I entered the building on a Monday morning around 9am, to the usual hustle and bustle. The building was twenty stories high and was the workplace of hundreds of doctors, researchers, nurses, and other necessary staff. No other building in the world held so many gifted people and worked with so many people and their problems. Most of our treatments were conventional, but in extreme cases, my friends and I would use my powers to help those in need.

I wore a tight fitting designer suit, charcoal grey pants and jacket with the white shirt untucked. I wore a pair of frameless glasses that were not for vision correction. The glasses were part of a new computer system, completely portable. The computer was on my wrist, disguised as a bracelet. It connected wirelessly with my glasses and allowed me to interact with what I saw.

People were highlighted in a blue halo and their names and occupations were displayed. If I wanted to, I could use it to look further into their status here in the building. For patients, it told me who they were and what they were here for. Visitors were marked as well and with who was the patient and where they were supposed to be. There were other apps that I could use with it, but I was still experimenting with it.

I swiped my card into the building and headed for the elevators. As always the feel of disease and death permeated the air. I ignored it and continued on my way. In the elevator, I pushed the button for the top floor. The elevator rose like a cloud. I barely felt anything move.

I exited the elevator and crossed the building to my office. I had several meetings to get through today and hopefully by the end of the day, the executive committee and I would sign off on opening a new division. As I went through the double doors to my office, I found someone waiting for me.

I stopped, dead in shock, for I had not expected to see this person for a very long time. The last time I saw her, she screamed at me that I was an unnatural beast because of my homosexuality. She called me a liar, a sinner, and the last time I called her two years ago, she called me a whore.

It was my mother.

Alright everyone, that is the beginning to the first chapter of the second book of the Incubus series. Now I've got some good ideas about what is going to happen next. So stay tuned and let me know what you think. All comments go to reiedogawa@yahoo.com and don't forget to donate to Nifty.
