"Can I come in?" Carolyn asked as she poked her head in the door and looked confused at what she saw, Becky Sue laying behind me covered up head to toe and Reggie camped out on the floor snoozing. I sat up and rolled out of bed and walked with her into the hall and closed the door quietly. "What's that all about?"
"What's what all about?" I asked with a yawn. "Reggie?"
"Becky?" Carolyn asked.
"We played Monopoly till late and she crashed in my bed," I said. "She's going home in a few days so we were just spending some time together."
"You're getting attached," Carolyn said as I grinned. Truth is truth. "Gonna miss her when she leaves huh?"
"Obviously," I said. "But you didn't wake me up to ask about that."
"UMMMMMM... you're right..."
"It's about Raegan coming in?" I asked with a another yawn. "I heard you talking to her."
"Thought you might have been snooping," Carolyn said as she poked me and I laughed and jumped away. "So you know she's coming in for a few days?"
"I heard," I said without a smile. "When?"
"I'm going to pick them up at the airport when they call," she said as my stomach grew to knots. "And you don't have to see her unless you want to."
"I might go and run around with Mickie for a while," I said in a somber tone.
"She's not gonna be staying here," Carolyn pointed out. "I've got her and the boyfriend staying at my place."
"I heard that too." I said softly. "It's cool, we sorta made our peace a couple of weeks ago. Besides she probably needs you to be her Mom again."
"I know and that's not something I've ever been particularly good at," Carolyn said with a worried look on her face.
"I don't think that," I said as she smiled at me. "My Mother is the poster child for crappy parents, you're a good parent, if you ask me."
"And you Taylor Raynewater... are beautiful... and sweet... and someone I'm... ummmmmm..." Carolyn stammered as she gently moved the hair out of my eyes (Mom move) and then suddenly clammed up as she took a deep breath and finished with, "Wake Becky and come on down for breakfast?"
"MMMMM HMMMMM," I said as I hugged her and held on for a long moment. She hugged me back and I know we both felt the same thing.
"Breakfast," she said a moment later and looked to be about ready to cry as she quickly walked off and disappeared down the steps.
"I love you too," I said under my breath as a huge smile crossed my face. The cracking of my bedroom door brought a groggy Becky Sue out along with Reggie.
"What's got you so happy?" Becky Sue asked in a yawn.
"You're here for a few more days," I said as I wrapped my arms around her and she half smiled at me (wondering if I was being serious). "We got the whole day to hang out if you want."
"Mickie's coming over I know so technically we don't," Becky Sue said. "Besides me and Grandpa Hal have been taking walks in the evenings down to Mavis Marvel's place. I like that so I wanna be here for that."
"Well maybe we can have a big party before you go back," I said as I tapped on Laney's door. "A sending you back to New York party?"
"Low key? I'm so burned out on the big glitzy parties," Becky Sue asked as Laney opened her door.
"What party?" Laney asked with a yawn.
"A sending Becky Sue back to New York party," I said as I kissed Laney's lips and found a sweet flavor on them that prompted me to do it again. "MMMMMM what is that?"
"Jessie," Laney said as I blushed and Becky Sue laughed in shock. "Chapstick actually."
"You two are way to close," Becky Sue said accusingly. "Just hook up already."
"Mickie might like that you know," Laney said as I blushed and she laughed. "Watching I mean?"
"Screw you," I said as I walked off down the hall and left Becky Sue and Laney laughing.

"Morning Sis," I said as I came back up the steps from breakfast and saw Jessie staggering down the attic hallway gingerly. "What's wrong?"
"I hate cheerleading," Jessie said as she stopped by the bedroom door. "Sore from hell all over."
"There's a huge shock to no one," I said. "What did you expect?"
"Not this," Jessie said. "My thighs feels like they're on fire or something, sore, very sore."
"I'm sorry," I said sympathetically. "Want me to get Taylor to give you a massage?"
"That'd make me feel all better," Jessie said with her trademark horny smile. "You're a great sister, you know that?"
"Of course I do," I said as we both laughed. "And with Mom knocked up with twins, we gonna have to pitch in a bit more around here."
"I know that," Jessie said. "I'm excited as anyone for the babies to get here. I hope it's two girls."
"Why?"
"Can you imagine our father with five girls around him?" she asked. "Though he does want a boy."
"And I hope he gets one," I said. "Besides who cares what sex they are?"
"Not me," Jessie said, taking a step forward and wincing in pain. "OWWWWWWWW!"
"Hot bath and some Icey Hot is your best bet," I said as she nodded her head in agreement and walked off towards the bathroom. My cell phone rang from inside my own bedroom. I snatched it from the nightstand and flipped it open mid-air as I crashed onto my bed. "Hello?"
"You up already?" Taylor asked as I smiled.
"Seems that way, but I could be wrong," I said as she laughed. "What's up my love?"
"Raegan is up, on her way in from California," Taylor said as my stomach dropped a bit.
"OK!" I replied, not sure what to say at that moment.
"Can you come get me?" she asked bluntly.
"Really? You want me to?" I asked.
"I love you and right now I need to see you and just... come get me" Taylor said as I smiled. "I don't wanna be here when Raegan gets here. Maybe me, you and Becky Sue can go running around?"
"Sounds like fun." I said as I rolled over and looked down at a copy of Cleveland Magazine that I swiped from Mom's room. The magazine lay open on the floor to an ad for Cleveland Metroparks Zoo which ended up sparking a great idea. "Hey you wanna go to the Zoo?"
"Where?" Taylor asked in confusion.
"Cleveland Metroparks Zoo," I said as I picked up the magazine and read the ad. "It says here they've got something new called Dinosaurs! Looks like a good way to maybe kill a few hours."
"If I wanted to see Monkeys and Giraffes I'd get on YouTube," Taylor said.
"You're a party pooper," I protested. "Then you come up with something."
"Fine, you wanna go to the Zoo so bad then we'll go," Taylor said in a mocking voice. "Beats being here by any stretch of the imagination."
"Exactly," I said. "I'll get dressed..."
"You're not wearing anything?" Taylor asked in a seductive voice.
"Nope," I said. "Under my clothes I'm completely naked."
"Ohhhh baby," Taylor said in a less than convincing voice. "Just get ready and come on over?"
"Half hour or less," I said. "Love you."
"Duh!" Taylor said as I smiled. "I love you too."
"Bye," I said as I hung up and slipped into my shoes at the door as I stuffed my phone into my pocket. Rumbling down the first flight of stairs to the second floor a few moments later and then down to the first floor, seeing the usual as I arrived in the kitchen, to a chorus of "Good Morning", Mom on the couch reading, Dad (Michael), Ryan and Alex enjoying a breakfast at the kitchen table and eager to get started working on the pool. I snagged a muffin off the table and asked Ryan, "Do you guys live here now or what?"
"On the weekends they do," Dad said. "With both of them in school during the week it's hard to find time to work."
"Football practice, homework and all," Ryan commented. "The weekends are the only time I get to spend time with Alex or make any money."
"Yeah my work load in College is making it tough on me too," Alex confirmed.
"I'll add my own complaints to that pile," Dad said.
"And what is it you do for a living again?" I asked Dad with a smirk.
"Bite me Mikala," Dad said.
"Guys are such whiners," I commented as I sat down by Mom on the couch. "Right?"
"You know it," Mom confirmed. "We spend nine months with a watermelon attached to our belly and never offer a complaint and you guys complain and bellyache 24 hours a day, 7 days a week over a little homework."
"Ha Ha," I said as I pointed at Ryan and Alex mockingly. Both of them pointed a fork at me as a warning but not offering any objections to the accusations that'd just been dropped on them. "By the way we're going to the Zoo today, you want me to bring you something back?"
"Yes for you to stay here and spend some time with your Mother," Mom said with a certain look.
"Taylor needs to get out of the house and I promised her I'd come get her," I said as I stood and took a big bite of the muffin. "I'll spend time with you tonight. Rent some movies and make it a girls night?"
"Juno," Mom said firmly. Referring to her now favorite movie, the one with hottie Ellen Page (l-e-s-b-i-a-n). "And bring Taylor."
"Well duh," I said as I kissed her cheek. "Oh yeah, what about Sammi and Darcy?"
"Wouldn't be a girls night without them," Mom said.
"Wouldn't be a girls night without Alex either," Dad said as everyone laughed.
"I'll buy the pizza?" Alex asked as I grinned.
"Get one from Mama Santa's?" I asked. "Best pizza in town."
"Gotcha," Alex said as he made mental notes.
"I'm off, see ya tonight?" I asked Mom.
"Yep!"

"Those things are scary as hell," Becky Sue said as we came out of the Dinosaurs! exhibit at the Zoo, having just seen some of the most realistic looking Dinos ever built. "I screamed so loud when that big one like snapped at me."
"I know my ears are still ringing," Mickie said as she fingered her ear and we laughed while we sat down on a bench just outside of the main doors. "Talk about screaming like a girl."
"Pussy," I said as I pushed Becky Sue into Mickie and laughed when the two tumbled to the grass. Vengeance though would be Becky Sue's as she gave me an evil grin and crawled over my girlfriend and pretended to kiss her. Letting her long blond hair cover her and Mickie's face. Even going so far as to make some wet sucking sounds. "Stop that!"
"MMMMM Mickie," Becky Sue said as my girlfriend giggled, giving away the entire charade. "You two are not funny."
"Neither are you," Becky Sue said as she got up and pulled a still giggling Mickie up too. "You can dish it out but you can't take it."
"I don't know about that I think she can take it really well," Mickie said with a knowing smile.
"Shut up!" I demanded of my girlfriend as she laughed and Becky Sue seemed shocked by Mickie's comment.
"I did not wanna know that," Becky Sue said as Mickie giggled and kissed my cheek and made me laugh when she raised her eyebrows suggestively and looked from me to Becky Sue and back.
"Some day, maybe," I said as Mickie squealed.
"Maybe what?" Becky Sue asked.
"Nothing," I said firmly, taking Mickie's hand and walking off. Mickie stopped me as Becky Sue went to get a soda from the snack bar. I thought she was stopping me so Becky Sue wouldn't lose sight of us but it wasn't that. "What? She can catch up."
"No not that, look who's here," Mickie said as she pointed to a couple coming down our way, giggling and bumping into each other. I honestly couldn't believe my eyes when I made out who it was, Marty and... Maria. Lynsey and Rae's Maria.
"Evil little troll doll," I said under my breath as we watched Marty and Maria get in line a few people behind Becky Sue. "What the hell are they doing together?"
"Beats me," Mickie said. "But I bet it's not good news."
"Let's just get Becky Sue and go," I said.
"No, absolutely not," Mickie said as she kissed me and wrapped her arms around me. "She's not here for me or you, she's here with Maria. We can still have fun even if she is here."
"Soda is sooo good on a hot day," Becky Sue said as she arrived back by our side. "What's wrong?"
"Mickie's troublemaking EX is here," I said and discreetly pointing to Marty.
"Oh Marty?" Becky Sue asked. "She seemed nice, she gave me 10 cents when I didn't have correct change."
"She can be nice when she needs something," Mickie said. I groaned as Marty and Maria spotted us and came over.
"Hey guys, what are you doing here?" Maria asked as Marty stood silently beside of her.
"We came for the Dinosaurs," Becky Sue said.
"Is it as cool as I heard?" Marty asked Becky Sue.
"It's even better!"
"You guys still kinda hate each other or what?" Maria asked Mickie. Referring to Marty and us two.
"I don't hate her," Mickie said. "But it's probably better if we don't hang out."
"Well what better way to move past it than hang out at the Zoo?" Maria asked.
"Yeah it'll be fun," Marty said. "We've been laughing our asses off."
"The girl at the gate with the huge ass and thong?" Maria asked as they cracked up.
"I'll pass," I said as I took Mickie's hand in mine and laced our fingers.
"She's changed a lot you know?" Maria asked.
"Yeah if you only give me another chance we could be friends for real..."
"You purposely tried to break us up you evil cunt," I spat as Marty's eyes narrowed and she fired back with, "Like the school's rape victim didn't try to seduce you too honey?"
"SHUT UP!" Mickie screamed as everyone, and I do mean everyone, looked as she fumed and Marty and I glared at each other. "Taylor, pipe down, the past is the past. Can we please just move on?"
"It's the truth..."
"I don't care, I'm begging you to drop it," Mickie pleaded and then turning to Marty she said, "And if you ever call Raegan the school's rape victim again, I swear I'll punch your teeth out. Why do you gotta throw that in someone's face? That's the exact reason no one wants you around."
"Whatever," Marty said as she stalked off and was soon followed by a clearly confused and frustrated Maria.
"That was colorful," Becky Sue said. "Although it was very amateurish."
"What are you babbling about?"
"The piss fight you three had was very amateurish," Becky Sue said. "Now my family knows how to fight. Blood, guns, death threats, cops called."
"Shut up," I said as me and Mickie laughed. "I've never seen your family do that."
"You get a bunch of southern rednecks together with plenty beer and lots of guns and ammo and you will," Becky Sue said. "One of the reasons that me and Cindy Joe left home."
"You and Raven ever fight that way?" I asked as we walked off. Referring to Becky's Sue on again/off again lover, Raven Southwood.
"Maybe," Becky Sue said as she sipped her soda. "But that's another story and I'd rather have fun with my friends than cry about that."
"Friends huh?" I asked as I slipped an arm around her waist. "Never thought we'd be that. Glad we are though."
"Me too!" Becky Sue said as she laid her head against mine.

"I owe you a night of mind blowing sex for that," Jessie said as we had just came out of the 'Sacred Hour' on Madison Ave. A massage parlor that's not to far from Mickie's House. "I feel like a million bucks now."
"MMMMMM you are very welcome," I said as we stopped by the car and kissed for a long moment. "90 minutes really makes a difference, huh?"
"MMMMMMM did it ever," Jessie cooed. "And I don't know how to thank you. You didn't have to buy that for me."
"I didn't buy it, I charged it," I said as she grinned. "Besides what's a hundred dollars when it comes to keeping my girlfriend happy."
"You do not have to buy me things to keep me happy," Jessie said. "But I won't complain if you do."
"Maybe next time we can get the Sacred Hour Couples Massage," I suggested.
"I would love love love that," Jessie said as she kissed me softly. "Even if it is 220 bucks."
"Damn it, phone call," Jessie groaned as she fished my phone out of my pocket and put it to my ear.
"Hello?"
"Laney McCoy?"
"This is her," I said before Jessie kissed me.
"Bob Martin, Martin Investigative Services Houston? We talked."
"Yeah, I remember," I said.
"Well I've got something for you," he said.
"Go on!" I said as I tensed up.
"The license number you relayed to me belongs to a company in the Cleveland Area by the name of TrogCo."
"OK!"
"TrogCo! is a private investigation firm like my own," he said. "What you saw was probably their lead detail van."
"That all?"
"Not even," Bob said. "Here's the nut crunching twist that made me glad Becky Sue begged me into helping you. One of my former employees, a really nice young lady, relocated to Cleveland three years ago with her new husband. Coincidently she now works for TrogCo. as an assistant. So long story short, I contacted her and we had a nice back-and-forth until she dropped me a name, the name of the person who's paying to have you investigated."
"OH WOW!" I said in anticipation. "Who is it?"
"OK, first this is confidential and under no circumstances including life and death will I ever reveal that I gave you this information," he said. "Are we agreed?"
"Yes, of course, who it is?"
"A Lieutenant General Roy Moore," he said. "Does that ring a bell?"
"No it doesn't," I said in confusion. "Why would he want me investigated for?"
"Well if you've recently moved then that might be why he hired them," Bob said.
"Yeah, about a year ago I moved to Cleveland from Langston, Arkansas," I said.
"Could be as simple as that," he said. "Laney sweetie, I do have to go my other line is ringing. If you need anything else, like a full investigation you call me and I'll try my best to help you at a good price."
"Thanks, bye," I said as I closed the phone.
"You OK?" Jessie asked.
"Confused," I said. "That name, Lieutenant Colonel Roy Moore, sounds so familiar now that I think about it."
"Roy Moore? It's in one of your old picture albums at the house," Jessie said.
"Huh?"
"You remember that 8 by 10 of you, Taylor, Richard, Your Dad and Mom and that guy in the Hawaiian shirt and Bermuda shorts?" she asked and suddenly it dawned on me. "You said the guy was your dad's commanding officer, Lieutenant General Roy Moore?"
"Holy shit, you're right," I said as Jessie grinned proudly. "But why would he be investigating me?"
"I think it's time we get Grandpa Hal involved," Jessie said as she kissed me. And for once I agreed without a word of resistance.
><> (: ~ :) <>< TAYLOR'S 'point of view' ><> (: ~ :) <><
The long day at the zoo finally ended with a laugh filled night at Mickie's place featuring pizza and movies till almost midnight. Sammi, Darcy, Laila and Becky Sue, not to mention me and Mickie all had a great time. So much so that Sammi, Darcy and Becky Sue slept over for the night with Laila.
"MMMMMMM I will see you tomorrow," I said as I kissed Mickie one more time. We were standing by her car in front of my house about 12:15. "By then you'll be sick of Becky Sue."
"Not even, Mom likes her," Mickie said. "I'll bring her back when I come over in the morning."
"Goodnight," Mickie said with one last kiss and before I knew it she was gone in the car. I slowly walked up the steps and saw only the dim light of the TV was lighting the place. Figuring it was Carolyn and dad up late I tapped on the door and was relieved when I heard someone unlocking it. But the person on the other side was not Carolyn or Dad. Of all the people in this world and of all times to see her again this had to be the strangest, Raegan opened the door.
"Taylor... ummmmmm... hi?" she asked as I looked at her in shock and carefully stepped inside. My eyes were drawn to the expanded belly of my one time fling. "Hello?"
"Hi," I said in the midst of my numbing shock. "You're here."
"Uh huh, Carolyn said it was OK if I stayed on the couch for tonight," Raegan said. My eyes drifted back to her belly. "Huge huh?"
"You could say that," I said as some of the numb began to wear off. "You're really gonna have it, huh?"
"Looks that way," Raegan said. "Is me being here OK?"
"No get out," I said as I pointed to the door. She laughed and gave me that dazzling smile that once made my heart beat faster... but now... it just didn't have that same effect. "It's fine."
"Did I hear Mickie?"
"Saying goodnight," I said. "We're happy now."
"All I ever wanted," she said. "You stop hating me?"
"I don't hate you," I said firmly. "But that can change if you start some drama."
"Only drama I'll be starting is with my boyfriend," she said. "He's staying at our old place tonight, painting and stuff."
"What's his name?" I asked as she joined me for a walk to the kitchen.
"Randy," she said. "He's nice and sweet and doesn't give me much grief when I act like a spoiled brat."
"Must be a saint," I said as we both laughed.
"He might be at that," she said as I handed her a soda and we smiled at each other from opposite sides of the counter.
