So here it is!! my montage!! lol.

chapter 17. Saving people.

It had been a bad day for her. the passengers had been naggy, and for some reason her stomach was acting up on landing. Sara had taken stomach medicine, but nothing. So now she was waiting to get off the stupid plane, finish her routine.. and leave.

Suddenly lightning flashed outside, highlighting the rain on the windows. Oh, it was a bad day. now lightning, on top of everything else. Lightning could sneak up on top of a plane without warning, and here it was. with her luck, they'd be rerouted and she'd have to wait to catch another plane back to her airport.

Lightning struck again, interrupting her thoughts, and then the power went out. Oh, this was definitely not her day. She began her emergency routine, as she felt the plane began to glide out of control, trying not to let the passengers hear the panic in her voice. She could see the other Flight Attendants doing the same thing as her.

Sara wished she were somewhere else right now, as the plane picked up speed, causing everything that wasn't firmly secured downl to shake violently. Was this how she was going to die? a plane crash from a random lightning strike?

Then she felt the plane shift subtly. what? Then the plane stopped shaking, the rattling from loose cargo stopped, and the plane's angle had changed too. Sara no longer felt the pressure of the plane's landing on her body. What? the power was still off.. no lights were working.. what had happened?

then a young girl from a window seat shouted. " Its that super boy!! I see his glow under the plane!" She clapped her hands in glee. Everyone cheered and clapped as the plane began what would be its roughest, and yet smoothest descent ever.

The girl was scared. the whole world was shaking around her. The leafy palms were shaking like the wind was blowing, but there was no wind at all. the dirt was moving, and her hut was swaying. She stomped the ground, wanting it to stop..

"Make it stop, Daddy!!" she spoke in her own tongue, stomping the ground again. She was angry. She didn't want to leave. But her father picked her up, despite her protests.

"Oh, my little girl. I cannot. The volcano God is active. We must leave." Just then the large volcano on the island began to erupt, sending out large chunks of rock and smoke. She looked up at it, fear beginning to sink into her small body. where would they live? What would they do?

Then, out of the sky, a blew streak shot across the clouds, and smoke. What was it? It was pretty. Then it stopped, and the girl thought she could see a strange looking boy, surrounded by blue. Was it the sky god? was he going to punish the volcano god for being mean?

She watched as the Sky God darted across the sky, shooting bolts of blue at the falling rocks, turning them into harmless dirt. She clapped and cheered as the sky god defended there village, then, as the lava began to pour, the sky god flew downwards, and carved a place for the lava to pour.

"the sky god saved us, mommy!!" she cried, clapping her hands.

"Yes he did." she said, picking up her little girl and crying.

The teen boy swept dark hair out of his face, worry causing him to look much older than he really was. The war had been ferocious, leaving nothing unaffected. and now they were taking shelter against the onslaught of missile bombardment from the infidels that dared call themselves warriors of Allah. Explosions rocked the complex, and the surrounding area.

The screams of terror, and moans of pain had become almost common place, quickly hardening one to one's own survival. Loss of family members tended to do that to a person. the boy held his gun, promising some sort of revenge for his departed family, before he too would die.

Then he caught sight of something out of the corner of his eye. what was it? another missile? The boy turned to look and saw a blue streak of light flashing across the heavens, with smoke clouds as a backdrop.

Then it stopped, and began to shoot more rays of light, destroying the missiles that were peppering his complex. The boy remembered hearing the news about a western devil that could fly, and tricked people into giving him their souls for saving their lives. But here was the devil, stopping the missiles from falling on his complex.

Then out of the sky, came a bigger missile. But the sky Devil was too busy destroying the tanks on the other side of the war zone to notice. Or was it a sky devil? The boy didn't know. He didn't want his soul to be taken because the sky devil had saved him without asking first. But then, he wouldn't have to sign anything anyway would he? or was the devil convinced the survivors would be so grateful, but they would give their souls anyway?

Part of him was happy, when he saw the larger missile strike the glowing Devil, but part of him was sad too. Now the bombardment would continue. a large cloud of fire and smoke hovered in the air above him.

Then he could barely make out the color of blue as the fire and smoke cleared. What was... it was still there?? The devil was still alive!! the boy watched in astonishment, as it glowed brighter, its sky blue aura growing with it, then it unleashed a large beam of blue light that scorched downwards, ripping across the horizon line. dim explosions could be heard as he watched the horizon fill with fire. The sky devil was destroying the enemy missile launchers!!

The boy stood with his clothes flapping in the breeze, as he watched the blue demon streak out of sight. But maybe it wasn't a demon. It had helped them and hadn't asked for a soul at all. It had just left with a streak of blue light.

Kid Rush was everywhere. And Jason was there to see it with Kyle. Or follow it rather. They had posters, articles, and pictures printed from the computer, they had everything. He'd even had a special ordered shirt made with a pic he'd sent of Kid rush flying through the air, one of the better shots a lucky photographer had made, after Kid rush had finally revealed his name. Jason still couldn't believe a name he'd thought of had ended up being used.

Jason stood at his door, waiting for Kyle to come by on his bike before school. They usually rode to school, with each boy taking turns pedaling and carrying the other one on his back.

"Hey sexy." Kyle said, as he rode up to the front porch. The two boys shared a quick kiss, Jason gently pulling Kyle's head into his own.

"Hey yourself." Jason said back, after they broke apart. Jason brushed the hair out of his eyes unconsciously. He loved kissing Kyle, and he loved snuggling, but he'd not been able to get past that. Kyle had been patient, had always waited for Jason to initiate something more. But every time Jason had tried, he couldn't continue. The touching brought back bad feelings. confused feelings. His fucking Father.

"how you doing?" Kyle asked, running his hand lightly across Jason's back. Another referral to his lack of affection.

"Better. I just wish I could do more for you." Jason replied. They'd done homework the night before, and as usual they'd snuggled, and tried for more, with Jason eventually breaking down. Only this time, he'd been crying, after having failed once again to control his stupid emotions. Jason sighed to himself as he climbed on Kyle's back.

Kyle was lost in too many thoughts. The last two months had been insane. Dealing with hero things, helping Jason deal with his father issues, and trying to juggle school with super heroing. it was really making him tired. well mentally, anyway. He was worried about Jason, worried about saving people and worried about the dreams he'd been having, that were happening a lot more lately.. Plus, he hadn't told his dad yet about being gay.

Then, of course, there were the government pleas on TV, for him to get a hold of them. now they were listing some sort of toll free number he could dial to speak to someone. How stupid was that? Lots of people would call it, just to be able to say what they thought of the government, or pretend to be him, for publicity.

"So, what do you think of that government thing?" Jason asked, interrupting Kyle's thoughts. What did he think of it? He wasn't sure.

"I don't know. how would they figure out if it was really him or not?" Kyle replied. The thought had been bothering him. Lots of things had been bothering him. Those stupid dreams. They'd been getting more and more involved. It was as if someone were talking to him.. but only now, could he understand what it was saying. They had been more nightmarish lately, an overwhelming sense that he needed to stop something.. or he'd lose everything. And the feeling of Everything was so BIG.. he could hardly contain the fear. He'd wake up in a huge sweat, his boxers and sheets were drenched.

"Yeah. the Internet was talking about that. someone suggested maybe voice technology." Jason finally said back. Kyle shook his head, trying not to let his thoughts distract him. Jason was the only thing that really mattered to him, so, if this dream was right.. he needed to protect Jason. From what, he didn't know, but he'd do his best.

Cold air brushed past the boys' faces as they biked into the junior high bike racks. It was strange how different traveling could be. Kyle thought back to his flights over the oceans, through the clouds, even through space. He'd left earth several times, to try to figure out what it was that might be coming. Either the dream was like symbolic, or it was real. so if it were real, he needed to figure out what this huge threat thing was. If it was symbolic, then the only thing he could think of, that was THAT important in his life, was Jason. So he wasn't sure which idea was worse.

If anything Ever hurt Jason, he wouldn't know what he'd do. It was a scary thought, to realize that he could feel that strongly about something.

"Are you okay?" Jason asked him. "I'm sorry bout last night. I know you want more, but.." Kyle cut him off.

"No, babe, it's not that. I just keep having these weird dreams." Kyle explained. "It's like for some reason, I know the whole world will end, and only I can do something bout it. It's really stressing."

"I guess it would be." Jason said, holding Kyle's hand, as they walked across the grounds. It was strange how things were changing. Even in conservative Utah. The whole gay thing wasn't so bad anymore. Nobody wanted to be branded an outcast for picking on gay people. "I was afraid you were angry at me."

"I can't possibly be angry at you. I tried it once." Kyle said, seriously. Jason looked at him with a confused look, which then turned to a worried one.

"What did I do?" He asked, sounding as if he was going to cry.

"You worry too much." Kyle said, pulling him close and kissing him deeply before they walked inside the school. The school had kept it's same policy, asking that kissing and deep signs of affection be left outside, no matter what the sex was.

The two boys walked inside the school, headed towards Kyle's locker. Jason had moved in with him, and became his locker partner. Kyle HAD a locker partner at some point, but the kid never showed up. Kyle had guessed he moved.

"I guess I do worry, but I care so much about you, Kyle. I want you to be happy too. and if your not happy because I'm just too weird..." Jason said, absentmindedly grabbing his wrists. That was a bad sign. Jason had explained more about the cutting, and how his father had been abusive. If Kyle EVER met the man, he'd probably lose it, and kill him. But now, he had Jason to worry about.

Kyle grabbed Jason's wrist with one hand as he pulled him into a deep hug with the other arm. "You are not weird. And don't think you EVER have to do that. You don't ever have to do anything for me, that would make you hurt." Kyle said, trying to comfort the shaking boy in his arms.

"You two are so cute, every time I see you!!" Michelle squealed as she came up to the two boys. They broke apart quickly, realizing that they might be pushing the hallway rules a bit far. "So has Alex got here yet?" she continued, ignoring their obvious looks of embarrassment. It was strange, but after the accident at the hospital, Alex and Michelle had become friends. Rick too, as a matter of fact. It was strange how much his life was changing after coming out as kid rush.

Kid rush. Kyle liked the name. he was rushing around a lot. mostly do to the fact that he found out about disasters AFTER they happened. He'd been doing patrols on weekends, and after school, on some days... trying to keep up with all the bad things going on.

"not yet. How is Rick doing?" Kyle asked. Rick had been depressed ever since his falling out with his ex friend. Losing your best friend would do that to a guy.

"He's the same as usual."Alex said, coming up from behind. Kyle wondered again how many kids he'd affected this way. had it been worth it? The subject had come up more than once, among his friends, and he was happy to hear that, for the most part, they had decided it was good, but still...

"I wish we could cheer him up." Jason said. " I know what its like to be depressed." he said, gripping his wrist without thought. Jason had told the rest of the gang some of his story, so they knew why he preferred long sleeves.

"I think he was more in love with that stupid ass, than he will admit." Alex complained, as they finished gathering their stuff. Kyle really didn't know. Rick had been moping around for like 3 months or so now. It was funny how fast time went by, when you were trying to do school, homework, and super hero, all at the same time.

"Why doesn't he get over him?" Michelle asked. Kyle had to agree.

"they were so close, before." Alex shrugged. "But I still don't think he's worth it, if he couldn't even accept his best friend." Kyle was glad that Steven and Josh had been so cool about it. He really needed to hang out with them more. But with super heroing and homework, he'd been busy.

Then Kyle realized he was standing alone. "Hey wait!!" he cried, chasing after his friends who'd already migrated down the hallway.

Jason was sick of being so dumb. how could he ever work through his feelings? Every time He and Kyle got close, he got all panicky. He knew that Kyle loved him... and he was so patient. Jason KNEW it.. he just couldn't quite accept it. How could Kyle feel so strong about him? how could he be so patient? It was hard for him to believe it.. the way he kept seeming to duck out at times. What else could there be, if it wasn't him? maybe Kyle didn't know how to tell him it was over.

NO!! Jason gripped the side of his desk, trying not to think those thoughts. Kyle had assured him, time after time, that he didn't want anything to be over. He was willing to wait, he had said so, several times.

Jason thought back to lunch. it had been fun, sitting with the guys, Alex and Michelle. They'd planned to hang out with Steven and Josh that afternoon, something they didn't do much. Jason wasn't sure, but he thought he might be distracting Kyle from his other friends. Maybe he needed to talk to Steven or Josh. They didn't seem like it bothered them, but maybe it did. And Kyle seemed to be uncomfortable about showing affection in front of them. Maybe because he wasn't sure if they were okay with it?

But he could be so sweet.. he was sweet all the time. understanding, caring. He just didn't like doing it in front of the guys. maybe he didn't want to make them feel weird. Maybe that's what was bothering him. Because there was something on Kyle's mind. He was sure of it. Jason wanted to help. Kyle had been so supportive, and he wanted to return the favor.

so what was it? was it about their friends? was it about Jason? Maybe it was everything. He just didn't know.

RING!!! Finally! School was out. Jason grabbed his books and backpack waited for Michelle, at the door. They'd made it a habit to walk together now that they were getting along. She had changed a lot since September, and was actually becoming a really good friend, even if she was a little ditsy. it was becoming cute now.. as opposed to annoying.

"So what do you and the guys have planned on your double date?" Michelle asked. huh? double date?

Jason must have had a weird look on his face because she laughed. "You didn't know Josh and Steven are together?"

"when did that happen? and why did they tell you and not me?" Jason asked as they maneuvered down the hallway.

"They didn't. I can tell there is something there though. I don't think they know it. Most boys are so clueless." She said, brushing his hair out of his face. it had bothered Jason at the beginning when she did it, but now it was a familiar gesture.

"Thanks."

"Not you and Kyle. I said most boys. You two are better with your feelings." She laughed. Jason wasn't sure about that.

"So you really think Josh and Steven are gay?" Jason asked.

"Maybe. but only for each other." She explained.

"Huh?" What the heck was that? Jason had no clue. how could you be gay for just one person?

"It's hard to explain. It's like you connect with one person. But those two don't get it. At least I don't think so." She said thoughtfully. Wow. To find one person you connect with. That was kinda deep. Jason knew that Steven and Josh liked girls. But if they really felt something more close to each other.. he guessed it could turn into sex.

"Whats hard to explain?" Steven asked, coming up from a side hallway. Jason looked at Michelle who looked flustered.

"See. It IS hard to explain." Jason said, rescuing her. Steven and Jason laughed, while Michelle blushed. "Our assignment." Jason added, adjusting his backpack as he reached his locker.

"oh." he replied.
