II:
Greg arrived home to find his answering machine flashing. The playback revealed an announcement that his parents were driving over for lunch TODAY. "Oh holy fuck" he mouthed and checking the clock, 9:00, they'd be here in a few hours he calculated. He gathered dirty clothes, linens, towels and put away jars of lube and toys, sprayed Febreze in abundance throughout the apartment, rushed to shave and shower, make one last spot check and was making busy in the kitchen, with the US Marine Corps Band performing Overtures I; Dvorak's Carnival Overture Op 92 in the background when his folks arrived. Their message had said they couldn't reach his cell and were concerned, but thought he may be out and not have the cell on him, and would just leave the VM at home. Greetings and hugs from both, oohs and ahhs about the way he'd re-set the apartment, then a chastisement from his mom for still having the two unpacked linen boxes not put away; at which point his dad intervened his wife's rant and reminded her that he did have a life and work demands and likely left those two for last intentionally; as his dad winked amusingly at Greg. When asked where they were going for lunch; Greg knew he was supposed to be the host and take them and not vice-versa. He rattled off a few chain places, Olive Garden, Enos, knowing their love of Italian when his mom inquired about any clever places, not run-of-the-mill chain sorts. There was the Capitol Grill in the same center as the Rockin' Vinyl, but he'd only eaten there once and it was, well let's say a bit "gay" he thought, but hell she wanted clever and "the Cap" as it was called was decked out in Greek murals, played Greek dance music in the background, the waitstaff was decked out in Greek gear and the host was always dressed as a peasant "boy" though he'd not been a boy for several years now. But "the Cap" it was and they headed that way. His parents filled the drive with questions about work, getting settled into the routine, whether he had any promising students, were there other men teachers he'd met and/or socialized with and more questions still as they pulled into the parking lot. Greg decided to splurge and opted for valet parking. "Well, well" came the retort from his dad at the presumed extravagance. His mom smacked her husband and told him to shush. She beamed and headed to the door. Greg sidelined her and gripped the door open as Predo, the host welcomed the three to The Cap. Greg's mom took in the scenery, his dad noted the staff attire and began his menu investigation, which as Greg learned years ago, focused on price checking vs menu selections. Bob showed up to take their order, once noted, he disappeared and returned with warm bread, olive oil and their drinks. His mom now began her onslaught again about his life in Beddington. The query continued until Bob returned with their meals and at the same time, Peter and Jeff entered and were greeted with hugs by Predo. Seeing him and Jeff, Greg froze and wondered OMG what would happen next???!!!
Instinctively, Peter took note of Greg's family outing and just acknowledged him with a nod and made no attempt to interject he and Jeff in the obvious family get together. Greg breathed a silent sigh of relief and while his parents knew of his lifestyle, he'd been cautious to never have that lifestyle intersect with his family. He was out, but............................ The meal and dessert done, Greg and his family made for the door and valet waiting outside to claim the check and produce his SUV from the lot. Oh no, thought Greg as he looked over to see Ted and Mitch arriving, and Oh Jesus, whispered under his breath as the folks closed doors and Greg began his departure from The Cap. His mom asked if those were some friends of his from school, as he passed them and both guys waved tentatively. Greg considered, there must have been a planned follow-on meal for the four guys today at The Cap, which no one got around to sharing with him last night, and as it turned out, was just as well. Oh no, now it was his cell that lit up like New Year's Eve in Sydney. "Aren't you going to get that" asked Greg's mom. "No I'll touch base with them later" in avoidance of a cell conversation that might make a sudden turn, in the midst of a crowded SUV. Safely back home, he made his folks some coffee in prep for their drive back home. He knew his dad's routine which included a nap at 3 and it was already 1:30, so time was ticking away and he knew that one cup would renew his dad for making the drive home, but not more than his bladder could tolerate. Coffee done and hugs made, the folks left and Greg collapsed on his still sore butt. Legs outstretched in his Eames chair and ottoman, he felt he'd drift off for a nap of his own. His cell stunned him and at first thought his parents may have had car trouble, then realized it was Ted's cell number, but the voice was Peters' as he inquired about how well Greg's parents enjoyed The Cap and what a Romeo he'd been after leaving the party the night before...... red-faced, even alone, Greg chuckled and thanked Peter for his discretion in the restaurant, then asked for Ted and Mitch. Greg began "Guyyyys" and was cut off with Mitch's assault, "So we're good enough to fuck but not good enough to meet the folks", then set off laughing in jest. Greg sat back relieved that he'd not offended them and resumed his apology. Peter returned to the phone and invited him over for drinks later if he was free. Greg accepted and as it was Sunday, knew he'd not be out late so was safe from any demon rum or Ted's demon dick............ He arrived at Peter's to find Jeff, Brad, Mark, Ted and Mitch well on their Sunday afternoon path to la la land............... Greg wasn't a big social drinker and paced himself again, remembering the school day was just a few hours away, so to speak. The guys drank some, sang some songs and this time it was Greg not Ted who took charge of the piano, filling the house with some show tunes, some jazz, a bit of classical, ending with "We Are the Champions" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" to everyone's excitement. The room filled with applause at the end of the piano production. Greg stood and took mock bows, grabbed a glass of wine and tossed it down then made his excuses for needing to leave. Hugs from the assembled mass as Peter walked Greg to the door and remarked "So very glad you came along my friend, hope we get to know each other A LOT better" and a tender but deep kiss followed. Greg was stymied, unsure about returning the kiss as Jeff stood in the hallway, giving symbolic thumbs up. Ending the kiss and embrace, Greg gathered his thoughts and made his way down the walk to his SUV. A brief wave good bye from Peter, standing in the door, and Greg pulled away confused, intrigued, horny.....
