Glimpse of Night

Kyle is one of those ordinary kids with no cares in the world. Going to school where he was just passing all his classes with D's which gave him a G.P.A of one point nine. His coach had to kick him off the team because of grades and attitude, which didn't bother him because he hated football. Kyle likes to sit alone outside after lunch until his last two classes let out. Then he would walk home or just around depending on the day. Oh one more thing, Kyle has no real family. He was a abandon on this cold world alone. Okay, maybe he was less ordinary and more pitiful.

I live with my foster mother who is an alcoholic. After school on some days I avoid going home until late at night because her many boyfriends coming to my room when she passes out. "Sick bastards! You perverted assholes should die!" I would yell but it was no use. They would punch me and hold me down. By now I was use to the abuse but, I would stay away from the house when I saw their cars in the driveway. It seemed like the obvious thing to do. I was alone and I didn't mind that part at all.

Today was below zero degrees and would probably get colder. Michigan's weather was always so cruel. All I had on was a Rob Zombie black T-shirt with a thin as hell grey jacket. My jeans were holy, praise the lord, and ice boxes for shoes. Not much protection in this weather at all and when the wind picked up I had to find a warmer place.

I found one of those igloo dog houses and crawled in. It was much warmer. Leaning against the wall I felt a slight chill because the walls were a little cold. There was no dog out here either, even its owners care enough to not let it freeze, lucky him. When the sun goes down it would drop another at least ten degrees. I have to leave before it gets to cold.

There was a sound that startled me awake. The first thing I saw was a shadow by the entrance of the dog house. I rubbed my eyes and looked again. A big black German shepherd sat staring at me. It had to be A hundred and twenty pound dog with an evil expression on its face.

"Good boy. Please don't bite me." I whispered as I crouched up. I closed his eyes and hope for it to be a dream but, when I opened them the dog was still there. "Can I leave boy?" I felt stupid to ask a dog a question but, to my surprise the dog moved. "Thank you." I didn't dare pet him. I started to My so call home wishing I was already in my uncomfortable bed with sheets for blankets but, I was being followed by the dog.

"Go home boy." I told him but he did listen. He then led me to the corner of Mt Morris road and Irish road. How he became the leader I don't know. He barked for me to follow so I did like a stupid, lonely, and gullible teenager that I was. The dog went off the road into a patch of trees and I was right behind him. He led me to an old, I think abandon house.

The house was definitely abandoned. It had hole that the insulation was sticking out. The door was lying in front of the doorway and the windows were broken. The roof shillings were torn apart. This house was like a house of a horror flick if it wasn't so small. It probably had one bed, one bath, a kitchen, and a living room. I stared at the house till the dog barked at me. He went in the doorway and I followed him in to see someone petting him.

"Nice to see you again, Thor. How have you been?" said the shadow. The dog barked friendly and I could hear it panting I believe euphorically. The shadow petted the dog saying "good boy" and laughing slightly. I found this my cue to leave so I turned around and headed for the door when I heard a quick swoosh. After that swoosh everything happen so fast. I felt someone grab me, picked me up and flung me against a nearby couch. I was laying there dumbfounded. Then I heard a strict yet familiar voice.

"Who are you young man?" Young man? This guy couldn't be any older than his early twenties and was calling me a young man like he was in his forties. Now that I stared up at him I could see some of his features. He had dark brown hair that the moonlight made look black and insipid skin that looked like plaster. The only thing that stuck out was his eyes that looked at me were an unfathomable silver blue.

"Me? I'm Kyle. Who are you?" I stood up. The guy in front of him stood probably six three or so because I was five seven and I only came to his chin. I looked around for only a second and saw the dog watching from the doorway. The guy turned around to see what I was staring at then turned and face him.

"Did you follow Thor here?" The guy smiled which frightened the hell out of me. I just nodded. He then called the dog to his side. He leaned down and whispered in its ear then stood back up. He stared at me for a moment then smiled again.

"What?" I managed to say trying to sound frustrated but didn't pull it off. His smile grew and I felt more nervous. Then I got up the courage and said I was leaving. I walked towards the door when the dog jumped in front of me. His teeth flaring, his eyes ablaze, and his whole body tense up. What was going on?

"Thor will keep you company until I return so make yourself at home." He said as he patted the dog and walked to the doorway. He stopped just for a second before he hit the doorway. "Oh by the way, I wouldn't try to leave. Thor will hunt you down and I really don't want to fix up a ragged boy." I heard him chuckle as he exit out the door and disappeared. I had two problems now and that was the psychopath man that would be back and the rabid dog that was holding him prisoner. This was just great.

Chapter 1

Birthday and After Party

The Fricking blood hound watched me with slit eyes from in front of my way out. Every move I did was inspected to see if I was up to something. I've tried to escape twice and third time the charm. I was planning to jump out the window and run to the nearest tree and climb it. This will help my dog problem but, what will happen when the man gets back home. Please don't let him have a shotgun. This was all I could think of. Maybe if I get to the tree and up it, maybe I could turn into Trazan and swing across the trees. Well anything is better than staying here. I closed my eyes and counted to three. Next I pulled off a Jet Li move over the dog and out the window.

I darted for the first tree I saw and jumped. Oh and let me tell you I climbed like a squirrel being chased by a fox. When I made it up I took a break. The dog was barking wildly and circling the tree. I had to leave before the man comes back so, I moved to a branch and leaned out to see how far I'd have to jump. There was no way I was going to make it. I sat down on the branch and swung a leg on each side. I thought to myself, I have to. I have to. Then I open my eyes and stood up, took in a deep breath, and was just about to leap when a shout made me loose balance and I fell.

Closing my eyes was all I could do. I really believe I was going to die, if not from the fall then by the dog at the bottom. I wasn't even thinking of the guy until I open my eyes and saw him staring down at me. Was I really caught by him? I mean I'm light, hundred and twenty pounds, but not that light to be caught from a twenty foot drop and not squishing my catcher who probably weigh hundred and ninety pounds.

"Are you okay Kyle? Are you hurt?" The man whispered softly as he walked into the old decrypted house.

"I'm fine." I choked out then turned slightly in his arms. Maybe if I talk to him he'll let me go. Yeah right but I was still shocked by the fall and well if I'm going to be killed I would like to know my killer's name. Yeah right, but I asked. "Oh by the way," I whispered, "You didn't give me your name." I tried to sound nice but I came off a little discourteous. The guy smiled down at me and then spoke.

"I am Azriel Chase." He sat me down on the couch.

"Azriel Chase?" I questioned. I never heard the name Azriel as a name.

"Yes Azriel like the archangel of death and Chase as in Lucia Chase a dancer I loved to watch back in the day."The way he explained it made no sense to me. I didn't even know who Lucia Chase was and I have never been to church either but angel of death suits him perfectly with his chilling smiles and black clothes. I nodded to him anyways to show I understand. Then he turned around.

"Please stay here I will be right back." He said as he went into a different room. I though, once again in the house I tried to escape and being look at fiercely by the malevolence dog by the doorway to get out. Waiting for a few minutes Azriel was back. The dog came to the couch and Azriel went and sat in the old brown lazy boy. Azriel handed me a plate with a piece of cake and a scoop of ice cream. Azriel was already eating his and the dog was eating a piece to.

"What are we celebrating?" I asked curiously.

"Oh, it's my birthday. That's why Thor came to see me but he has never brought a friend." He looked to Thor who had his canine teeth showing like he was smiling. To me it looked demonic, cruel and evil. This made me uneasy. I had to get out of here while I was still alive because this reminded me of one of those movies where the innocent child dies. Thor got up and walked into the kitchen and Azriel watched.

"I will be back. Will you please stay here?" He asked but didn't wait for an answered as he dashed into the kitchen. I took this as my opportunity to get out even if I was curious to what was going on. If I looked into the kitchen I could get caught and lose my chance to get away. I got up, glanced to the kitchen to make sure no one was coming and then I crept to the door. When I was outside I ran.

I ran faster than I have ever run before. I didn't stop and my lungs were as cold as ice but my whole body felt hot. When I made it to my house I saw a blue Grand Dam. Eric was here. I hated Eric. He was a forty-five year old jerk. He hits me and once threw me out side naked. All I did was said "let me get dress first then I'll get your coffee." I just got out of the shower and it was October. Believe me it was cold.

After that flash back I decided to climb in through the window. My room was in the basement and I always left the window unlock, but I always locked my door. I am the only one with the key to get into my room now after mother dearest was so damn plastered she accidently flushed the other key away. Eric shouldn't be able to get into my room unless he breaks down the door. I'm not worried though he probably doesn't even know I was gone.

How wrong I was. Eric stood in my room with an evil grin planted on his face. He had his hands clench and in one hand was a, I think metal pole. His brown eyes were staring right at me and I knew I was going to get the hell beaten out of me. Mom came down stairs holding a margarita glass. Mom was young, thirty- two but with all the drinking she didn't look that age at all. No wonder she gets jerks like this.

"Where have you been?" Eric asked as he slammed the pole in his hand as a threat.

"I was walking around." I whispered.

"What?" He yelled. "Speak up!"

"I was walking around." I said louder.

"That doesn't answer my question." He said as the pole flew and hit me across my side. I let out a loud grunt but didn't scream. If I did scream, Eric would hit me until I passed out. "Now where were you?" He asked again.

"Eric baby, let's leave the kid alone." Mom said lazily and wrapped her arms around him. That didn't last long though, Eric pushed her away and she slammed against the side of the wall. "Eric! You made me drop my glass." She was laughing now. She wasn't going to save me in this state. She was such a good mother. I thought sarcastically.

"Go get another one. I'll be up in a few minutes." He smiled that cruel smiled.

"Okay baby." She said as she zigzag up the stairs. Next I heard the door shut. I was in trouble now.

"Kyle, now where were you?" Eric stepped closer.

"I told you I was walking around. I walked down Irish road and Mt Morris road." I cried out. Next was a horrid blur. I was crying as I felt the pole strike my back, hips, and thighs. The pain was unbearable. I did hear Eric yell "you lying fuck", but it sound like it was miles away. Then the hitting stopped and I tried to look but couldn't manage to lift my head. I tried to listen but my body was tired so I let the darkness come and take away my pain. * * * * *

I slit open my eyes and tried to move get shooting pain through my body. I did feel a blanket around me. Next, I opened my eyes all the way and forced myself to sit up to find myself in a bed. I had no clue where I was but where ever I was it was better than being back at home.

Getting up was a pain. My legs hurt so bad I thought I was going to cry again, but I manage to hold in my tears. I walked around and realized I was in a hotel room. I walked to the bathroom and dropped the blanket and lifted my shirt. It wasn't bad yet but I saw some of the bruising peeking around my sides. When I did turn I saw all the welts, some blood, and bruises. I was wrong, it could be seen, all too clearly in the mirror, that I looked like a punching bag. I didn't even want to see my legs. I dropped the shirt and stared at the mirror until he heard the door shut. I peeked out.

There was no way. I looked at the man carrying two bags in and sat them on the bed. He pulled out some chips, water, soda, and last some candy. In the other bag he pulled out gauze, some ointments, and medical tape. What shocked me the most is, I knew him. I was about to close the bathroom door when he looked my way.

"Come here Kyle. Let's fix those wounds." I was hesitant but I went to him.

"How did you find me Azriel?" I sat down on the bed.

"Well you ran off and I followed you. I watched you sneak into your window so I went to the front door. You're umm..." He stopped and looked at me.

"Drunk foster mother." I said.

"Let me in." He continued. "I heard a scream and ran down stairs and saw a man over you. I got him off and picked you up. You were unconscious so I carried you back to the house but thought you would like a warmer room. Then I brought you here." He smiled at me and it didn't creep me out this time. It felt warm and made me feel safe.

"Thank you." I said. He nodded and then opened the gauze.

"Turn around and take off your shirt." I did even though if this was someone else I would run for the hills. Actually yesterday that was all I was doing. "Time to fix up the ragged boy." He said. This was sort of ironic. At least to me. I wasn't injured by the dog but Azriel still had to fix me up. Ha ha. I was to busy laughing internally at my inside joke I didn't notice the cool liquid hitting my back. I jumped up from the shock and gasped. It was cold but the instant movement really hurt.

"Are you okay?" Azriel asked very concern.

"Yes, it was just cold." I said a little stupidly as I turned around.

"Okay. Then lay down so you don't hurt yourself anymore." I looked at him but he just smiled. I kept my eye on him as I lay down. Next he sat beside and squeezed some more ointment on my back as I shivered. He was being careful and I knew that but this felt really strange. Guys shouldn't rub guys no matter the reason but it felt really good.

Azriel couldn't believe that this happen to such a sweet boy. He doesn't deserve this. Azriel grabbed the gauze and told Kyle to sit up and notice how Kyle slowly moved his legs. Kyle was injured there to. Azriel wrapped the gauze around Kyle's waist then taped it. Next Azriel placed his hand on Kyle's thigh and Kyle grunted in pain.

"Take off your pants." Azriel commanded.

"What!?" Kyle stared in disbelief. Now Azriel wasn't the psychopath killer but the sincere rapist.

"Your legs are hurt to. I need to wrap them to." He said in a grin.

"Fine." I said nervously as I stripped my pants and all I was wearing were black boxers and socks. Azriel was gazing at me up and down which almost made me run to the bathroom when Azriel grabbed my arm and gently pulled me down on my stomach as he put some ointment on my thighs. Now this was wrong but I didn't care because it felt good.

Azriel felt good when he touched Kyle and Kyle relaxed. That was good because it made him relax some to. There was a great deal of old scars on Kyle's body. This boy has been through hell. Kyle was a pale boy too. He had light bronze hair with light brown eyes. He was bone thin but had some muscle tone. He was pretty in the face but his body wasn't so lucky. Azriel wrapped Kyle's upper legs and then got up.

"What are you doing?" I watched Azriel pick up the discarded clothes and throw them away.

"They're bloody and torn. I will buy you new ones." Azriel looked at me and smiled a really lustful smile. Kyle grabbed the blanket and wrapped it around him. "Also it's cold outside and these clothes are not much protection." Azriel added.

Azriel walked back over to the bed and sat down. With one hand he grabbed the remote and the other snatch a soda at the end of the bed. He switched of the light by the bed and turned on the TV. It was like being with a friend. I think anyways. I wouldn't know though, but I don't think you should be basically naked with your friend though. I took a breath and leaned forward and took a soda and a bag of Doritos and laid back.

"Azriel, I have school tomorrow." It was the only thing I could think to say.

"You're not going. You need time to heal."He said as he was scrolling down the pay per view channels.

"I always go to school. Even after things like this." I said but then thought (I hate school and he's saying I can stay here which is away from mom and her abusive men. Here is much better.) I put a chip in my mouth.

"I don't care. You're not going and anyways you don't have clothes to go to school in." Then he looked at me with that lustful smile again. This smile made me uneasy.

"What's the food for?" I asked

"It's the after party to my birthday. I mean you ran off and I couldn't finish it. And Thor said I was acting childish chasing you, so he left to." He smiled then looked at the TV. So Thor is gone thank goddess. "Kyle have you seen Hostel?" He asked.

"What makes you think my mom allows me to watch TV?" I sarcastically pointed out.

"Good because this is a gruesome horror and I like it." He rented it and I sat back. And after two hours of watching people being cut, burn, and killed by psycho people I was literally grasping Azriel arm as my protector. Azriel was also under the blanket to and the clock on the stand said ten fourteen at night.

"Ready for bed?" Azriel asked unfazed by the movie. I on the other hand was still shaken up. To answer the bed question it would be HELL NO, how could anybody sleep after that kind of a movie, and if I didn't think he would rent another slasher movie, I would have said that.

I didn't think I could sleep now, but I would try and hope I won't have night terrors. "Yes." I said as I let go of his arm. "Sorry."

"It's okay." As Azriel slid down and placed his head on the pillow. I moved to the other side of the bed and lay down on the other pillow. Now I'm sleeping in a bed with a guy and I'm okay with it. Man, am I gay? NO. No. I'm not. I started to drift off when I felt something at my back and I rolled over.

Azriel was staring at me and I rolled over his arm and now it was cradling me. This was totally gay and I'm caught up in it. Azriel leaned down and stopped centimeters from my lips. I closed my eyes. The worst part was some part of me wanted him to kiss me and something said push him away, but it didn't matter the choice was made. I did a weak attempt to push him away, but he was unfazed by my clearly lack certainly in the matter, so that answered the second choice. Next his lips were on mine.

The kiss was gentle till Azriel arm pushed on my back to pull me closer and I gasp in pain and Azriel tongue darted in. It got rougher now. He was good and soon my mind spaced out. I mean I didn't care if he was a guy or girl. It was like something possessed me that even the nips and bits on my lip were pleasurable. His hand slid down my hip to my thighs and back up, it was done with an impressionable touch so not to hurt me.

After I don't know when, he put his chin on my head. "Goodnight my sweet Kyle." Azriel whispered holding me so gently.

"Goodnight." I breathed out. This was definitely different but I didn't care anymore. Killer, rapist, even gay it didn't matter because from the first time I met Azriel he has been nothing but kind to me. I rather stay with him to. And with that thought I pictured the kiss again and he let that take me to wonderful dreams.
