Chapter 7 "Girls just wanna have fun..." By: Secret Dreamer dreamsecret@poetic.com

I stood outside the dorms and stared up at the large building. Sighing, I finally realized that I wouldn't be coming back. This wasn't my life anymore. That chapter had closed and left me with a new one. One with a loving pregnant girlfriend and an apartment in New York City. It was perfect.

I kicked a piece of gravel. Than why didn't I want to leave this chapter behind? I cursed furiously as a tear slid down my cheek. This was utterly ridiculous. I snatched at the car door and got in. I started the ignition only to hear the passenger side door open and close. I looked over to my right, only to see Jonathan smiling widely at me. A duffel bag in his hands.

"Yes?" I inquired, trying to keep my smile of glee at bay.

He shrugged and gave me his famous smile. "I thought you could use the company."

I smiled back. "I knew there was a reason you're my best friend."

He feigned surprise before turning on the radio. "Let's crank it!" He smiled and winked at me.

I laughed. God it felt good to laugh and pulled out of the parking lot. 7 hours with Jonathan. This was going to be interesting.

I listened to him talk about his summer while I watched the scenery pass. The sun shone brightly as we passed the Nittany Mall. A light breeze caused the trees to bow deeply. Another smile tugged at my lips. I was going home to be with Dawn. A warm feeling in my stomach erupted. It felt like a warm summer day with an ice cream cone of your favorite ice cream and the beach right at your fingertips.

"...So Adam and I decided to move in together. I was coming back to PSU to get my stuff too. I was planning on surprising you by coming up to New York City. I see you beat me to it," Jonathan finished up his story with a grin.

"And when do I get to meet this boyfriend? I do believe I get parental choosing."

"Mm. I'm afraid for him considering what you did to Mark."

I coughed. "Mark was soo not good for you!" To me, it was baffeling that he couldn't see that. "Dear, he liked Bbmak."

Jonathan shuddered slightly. "Okay. Okay. But Adam is different!"

"That's what you said about Dan and Vinnie and Curtis and Bernie and Donnie and Hank and..."

Jonathan growled. "Okay, shut up! Geez, your making me sound like a slut!"

I feigned astonishment. "You? Noo. Never." I smiled at him.

"You know. I seem to remember a story about you streaking down Beaver Avenue. I do believe Dawn would find that very amusing. Or how about that time that you woke up and forgot where you were, Hmm? You walked into the hallway butt-naked," he started shuffling through his bag. "I think I have pictures."

"Fine! Truce!"

"Truce? Oh my dear, it's way beyond that. It's war now."

I snarled at him.

He made a 'tsk tsk' sound. "Oh what about that time you and Gretchen had sex at the Hub? Now that was entertaining. I think you two got arrested, right?"

"What about that little crush on JC Chasez? I think Adam would be quite interesting to hear about our little truth or dare game? And your little dream," I cackled as we turned onto the highway. This was a war that wouldn't easily be won, or lost.

He glared at me and sagged into his seat, pouting.

"Give up?"

"No. It's just hard to think of dirt on a goodie-two-shoes."

"Oh, you're going down buddy-boy. You're going down," I threatened venomously.

And with that, the insult war began.

"Hag," he spat.

"Whore."

"Twit."

"Bitch."

"Slut."

"Bastard."

"Fuck nut."

"Crack whore."

"Butt munch."

"Whigger."

"Skank."

"Dog."

"I love you," he smiled, earning a smack on the arm from me.

It was 10 p.m. by the time we made it into the city. The lights cast an eerie illumination over traffic as we sped steadily toward the apartment. Jonathan's eyes were open wide as they shimmered with apt wonder. I grinned as a little bit of drool escaped down his chin.

"Here it is!" I opened the door with a flourish. "It's not much but it's ours."

Jonathan walked in and smiled. "I like it."

The grand tour didn't last long after settling his bag into Dawn's old room. It occurred to me at that moment that we had, inadvertently, turned the other bedroom into a guestroom.

I took a Dr. Pepper from the fridge and tossed it to Jonathan, who was sitting at the table. I hopped up onto the counter with my own can. "Where are you supposed to be meeting Adam?"

Jonathan spread into a wide grin. "Day after tomorrow. I called him before we left and told him the change of plans. I gave him the address."

I nodded. "So that gives us all of tomorrow to annoy each other. This should be fun."

"I'm sure we'll both be dead before the day is through," he chuckled.

"Well, we wouldn't want Adam to find any vital organs missing so I suggest that Olivia and Love tag along. Maybe Jack and Damien, too."

I watched Jonathan raise an eyebrow in question. "Jack and Damien?"

"Adam, honey. Think Adam."

Another toothy, and goofy, grin appeared. "I can't wait for you to meet him."

I laughed and hopped off the counter. "You got it bad. He better be something like a model to be good enough for you," I kissed the top of his head before mussing his hair.

"He is a model."

I laughed harder. "That's a good one, Jon."

"No, I'm serious."

"No you're not!"

He nodded. "I met him when I went to visit Mom and Dad in Florida. He was visiting a few friends and we bumped into each other at a coffeehouse. I ruined a good shirt, too. But he made up for it."

"I'm sure," I cocked an eyebrow.

Jonathan smacked my arm. "Not sex, dummy. We talked all afternoon, exchanged numbers, talked all night. It was nice."

"And now you're moving in with him?"

He nodded.

"That's so cute! Oh, I can't wait to meet this one," I taunted and fled into my bedroom before another smack could be administered to any part of my body. "I love you! Good-night," I called through the door with a snicker.

He grumbled something incoherent and shut his door.

I yawned and finished my drink before stripping and climbing into the familiar sheets. I tucked Dawn's pillow into my arms, relishing the smell of her that had sunk into the material. Just a few more days and it would be her in my arms. Another yawn and I tucked the pillow closer before falling into a peaceful, dreamless sleep.

"You butt munch!" I hollered, running after Jonathan and jumping onto his back. "Take it back," I demanded tightening my hold on his neck.

He just choked a laugh. "No."

"Take it back!"

"No! Now get off," he started to shake as I flew from one side to the other. Truthfully, it was giving me a headache and Olivia and Love's giggling wasn't helping much.

"Not until you take it back!"

"Over my dead body!"

"Than what am I supposed to tell Adam!"

"That I died honorably, now get off! You're heavy!"

"Hey!" I smacked his shoulder.

He laughed, his face turning a purplish color that oddly was bringing me a lot of satisfaction.

"Take it back!" I demanded again. "I'm quite content with letting you pass out on the sidewalk! I can still get you back when you're released from the hospital," I hissed.

"Fine!" he coughed. "You don't smell like fish now get off of me!"

I slipped off his back and hit him repeatedly as he coughed. "See, that wasn't so hard," I said sweetly.

He glared at me. "I think Dawn needs to hear about your little orgy idea."

I stared at him. "Dear, that was your idea."

He cursed.

Olivia and Love looked at each other, to us and than back at each other. "I pity your parents," Olivia concluded. Love nodded her agreement.

"They pity themselves, too. Don't worry," I laughed.

"We almost gave my dad a heart attack a few years back," Jonathan hooted. "We tried to build a tree house but neither of us were or are very good with using tools. We lost interest pretty quick so we went downtown, got some french fries and went back to the yard..."

"...We took those little ketchup packets and had a little war with them. Ketchup was all over us and the tools and some of the wood. When we came in, Dad thought it was blood," we continued to laugh as Olivia and Love exchanged another look, shrugged, and walked away.

This caused us to laugh harder as people stared at us and kept their kids at a safe distance from our hysteria.

"God Bless those little ketchup packets," Jonathan stated, wiping a small tear from the corner of his eye.

"And really quick explanations."

We caught up to Olivia and Love and continued our exploration of the city.

It was near 3 o'clock before we stopped for lunch at an outside restaurant. All four of us were exhausted and gratefully welcomed being seated and somewhat pampered.

Our drinks had just been ordered when a shadow overcast the table.

A big grin spread over Jonathan's face as he stood up and embraced the shadow.

"And what's Adam gonna say about this?" I inquired, with an evil grin.

The shadow looked down at me and grinned. "He's gonna say 'Hi, I'm Adam.' Hi, I'm Adam," he laughed before kissing Jonathan.

"Witty. This is new. I'm Iya. This is Olivia and Love."

"Ah yes. The pain in the ass who can tell me all the embarrassing stories about Jonathan," he sat down and put his head in his hand. Batting his eyelashes at me "Do tell."

I died laughing as the waiter placed our drinks around and we ordered our meal. "I like you already."

"Tell tell tell. I wanna hear all the embarrassing stories. When he cried when he went away to camp. Peed his bed when he was 12. Everything."

I grinned at Jonathan and back to Adam. "I'm gonna have a lot of fun with you. First off, he never went to camp. He couldn't stand being a way from home that long."

Jonathan glared at me. "Liar, liar pants on fire."

"I thought I felt a little warm," I grinned.

Adam grinned and kissed Jonathan. "Don't worry, pookie," he batted his eyelashes again. "I'll trust you to tell me them yourself."

"Thank God," he breathed and leaned back in his chair.

"You lost major points, buddy."

Adam threw his head back and laughed a thick laugh that caused the rest of us to break out in hysterics. This guy was going to be hard to dislike.

--

Welp. That is the ending of this chapter! I know it's one of the shorter ones but I thought I'd just have some fun with a dumb chapter ;). Hope you liked it.
