Gay

Hey y'all. I'm back with the next part of Dreams of an Angel. Thought I was gone for good didn't ya? Heh heh. I can see it in yer eyes, so don't bother lying :) Naah. I'm still here. I'm so sorry for not updating the story like I promised. I've been in London for the past couple of weeks and I didn't bring my laptop with me. What can I say? I can be so dumb sometimes. Anyway, I'm back now but sadly, because I need some time to write the stuff, I'll be updating once a week now instead of twice a week like last time. So, if you all want updates, it'll be up every Friday now. Hey! Once a week is better than nothing right? :)

Anyway, lets get on with the show. Hope you all enjoy it! Any comments or suggestions, well, you know how to contact me. My Yahoo ID is Goldenknightuk if you wish to send me an instant message. Sorry for any bad grammars boys and girl. C'mon! Nobody's perfect!! :)

Before the show, onwards to the boring part! Legal matters! Hehehe. You can press 'fast-forward' now.

Well, first of all, this story, as you will certainly find out soon, is TOTALLY fictional. So! If any of you truly believe in it... dude, I'm worried about you. Secondly! None of the guys in the Backstreet Boys are gay! (No matter how hard I wished it :P). But nobody say we couldn't dream it, heh heh. Thirdly, Warren Worthington is actually a character from Marvel Comics, X-men known as Angel or recently Archangel. Okay fine, I admit it. I'm bored and I am making a pathetic attempt to make life a lil' bit interesting. Its not like I'm gonna publish it or something. What else to talk about hmm? Oh, there may be some adult gay scenes in this story. Unlike my brother, I don't mind writing naughty stuff ;) so! If you're underage, naughty, naughty! I can only ask you to go away, but I cannot do anything else to stop you from reading on anyway. Hell! I've been sneaking into the internet to watch gay porns since I was 13! So, if your parents or whoever responsible for you catch you, don't say I didn't warned you. However, if you're homophobic... well maybe I can seduce you enough to turn you around heh heh. I do so love a challenge ;)

Anyway, enough talk. Any comments or boos or suggestion or whatever, just sent it to the same address as in NNTs, goldenknightuk@yahoo.co.uk . Yeah, we shared the same address. Don't ask. Long story.

Okay then! On to the show. Now, don't be shy now. If you got any comments or suggestions, just drop me a note. You do the request, and I'll do the show.

Part 49: 'Do I Have To Say The Words?'

Later that night at the club...

"Bobby!!"

Bobby turned around at the familiar voice behind him and grinned when he saw Nick standing there amidst the dancing crowds, grinning at him... well... more specifically at the pink patch on his hair.

"Nick!" Bobby laughed as he drew the guy into a hug. He spoke softly into Nick's ears immediately after that. "I'm gonna kill you later tonight, mister."

Nick laughed as he drew back.

"I told you I'll get my revenge."

"Go ahead and laugh, asshole." Said Bobby before noticing the sad look in Nick's eyes. "You miss him, huh?"

"Very much." Nick whispers, grabbing Bobby's arm tighter as they make their way to the table where Lance and the others were sitting. "It's gonna be a long night but I'll survive."

He smiled as he reached the table.

"Hey guys. Thanks for letting me tag along."

"No problem, buddy. C'mon, sit down." Joey smiled.

"In a minute. I'm gonna get some drinks. Be right back." Said Nick as he rushed off to the bar.

"Geez, he looks terrible. Is he okay?" asked Justin.

"He's probably worried about AJ and Howie." Chris replied quietly.

"Oh yeah... I kinda forgot about that. The Backstreet guys must be going through hell right now." Said Justin again.

"Any idea what really happen guys?" asked Chris.

"I have some..." said Joey.

Pretty soon, the three of them were too busy discussing various theories and speculations to notice Lance leaning towards Bobby for a quiet conversation.

"You heard about it?" asked Lance.

Bobby nodded quietly.

"Scott and Jean are looking into it right now." He replied.

"What about the attack on Nick the other night? Found out anything?" Lance asked again.

This time Bobby hesitated before answering.

"Yeah... but it's not pretty." He murmured softly in reply. "Warren's ex-girlfriend was behind the whole thing. But we're still not sure why she did it."

Lance's eyes widen in shock. He opened his mouth to speak but Bobby interrupted him quickly.

"NOT a word to Nick about this, Lance." Said Bobby quietly. "Or to Warren. We're still looking into this and it wouldn't do to freak Wings out right now before we're absolutely sure why she did this. Believe me... an angry Archangel is not a pretty sight."

"Party in the house!!" Nick came back, smiling happily with several drinks in his hands. "My treat."

"Hallelujah!" Justin grins as he grabs one of the glasses.

"Psst... hey Bobby." Lance whispers.

"What?"

"I need more ice for my drink."

Bobby looked back at him and grins before slipping Lance's glass under the table and performs his 'magic'.

"You know... you'll make a perfect portable ice-machine." Lance giggled a moment later.

"Shuddup 'n' drink, Spiky."

Time passes by quickly when you least notice it. One moment you're dancing on the dance floor of a club, enjoying yourself immensely. Then, before you know it, you find yourself lying on the couch of someone else's house, wincing painfully against the glare of the morning sunlight... not to mention a pounding headache in your head.

"Uuunnhhh..." Bobby groaned softly, shutting his eyes tightly to avoid the glaring sunlight. "Oh God, my head..."

Tilting his head up weakly, he opened his eyes again, looking at the surrounding searchingly. No... he is definitely not at the mansion...

"Where am I?" He whispers to himself again as various scenarios floated into his mind: Magneto, Sinister, Apocalypse, Dr. Doom, The Right... As he struggles to sit up, he finally became aware of the warm sleeping body lying comfortable on his chest, breathing away quietly.

"Huh? Oh... Lance." Bobby muttered again in relief, plopping his head back onto the couch. For a moment there, he thought he was kidnapped or something... wait a minute...

He tilted his head up sharply again in alarm. Why is Lance sleeping on top of him of all places???? Did anything happen last night??

He plopped his head back in relief when he realized that they were both fully clothed. He tried to remember what happened at the club last night, but gave it up with a wince when his headache intensifies as the result of his effort.

Turning to the table before him, he caught sight of a note. Reaching out weakly, he snatches it up and read it in silence.

YOU TWO WERE TOO WASTED TO DRIVE SO I TOOK YOU BACK IN MY CAR. LANCE, YOUR CAR IS STILL IN THE PARKING LOT. GET IT IN THE MORNING. AND BOBBY, GIMME A CALL WHEN YOU'RE FREE. NICK.

'So that's what happened last night.' Bobby smiled wearily. 'How much drink did I had last night? God, I feel like I've been hit by a truck. I hope someone got the plate number.'

Relaxing himself lazily on the couch, he smiled again when Lance stirred and grunt slightly in his sleep. He reaches out quietly to run his fingers lightly through the sleeping guy's hair. He almost laughed when Lance smiled in his sleep, stirring himself again as he sleepily seek a way to bury his head deeper into his chest.

He stares at the sleeping man again a moment later, stroking the hairs quietly. He can't help wondering when did he become so attached to this singer. Come to think about it... when was the last time he had such strong feeling of... affection... to anyone else other than Scott?

Scott has always been everything to him most of his life. He still remembers the day when he first saw that scrawny, tired-looking orphan boy entering the room with Xavier the day Scott first came to the mansion. And when he said scrawny, he means scrawny as if he hadn't eaten in months. It was not surprising when Scott actually gorged himself through all the food in the kitchen later on that day. He still didn't have that red ruby-quartz glass or visor at the time, so Bobby couldn't help but wonder why Scott had his eyes tightly blindfolded by a piece of dirty rag. His answer came quickly enough when Xavier explained Scott's mutation to them all.

They were young and still quite na^Ëve at the time - just a bunch of hormone-raging teenage mutants hiding from all the hate and prejudice the world directed against their kind... and even then, they were still unsure why people hate them and their mutant abilities so very much. They were still feeling insecure to everything, so everyone tends to act the way they used to be before coming to the mansion as if to preserve at least a little semblance of their previous life and take it with them into this new path that they are taking in their life. Warren continues to act like a typical snobbish rich kid, nose high in the air even as he looks down on everyone and flaunt his money and good looks everywhere he goes. Hank flirted and party once a while but most of the time, he'd be too busy either challenging Xavier in a game of chess or burying himself in his books. Jean spent most of her time practicing her telepathy and telekinesis but at other times, she'd be too busy giggling away at the attention she constantly received from Warren... oh well, once a cheerleader in high-school, always a cheerleader.

But Scott... he just rose from a quiet, brooding orphan boy to the role of a responsible older brother. He may not be rich like Warren, he may not be a genius like Hank but he was always there for each of them whenever they got themselves into a fix, and kept them all together. Maybe he was born to lead. Or maybe his experience in the orphanage taught him to be like that. If you have no family to care for, then the only thing of value left in your life is your friends. Many people take friends and family for granted. But not Scott. He knew firsthand how it feels to lose his parents and brother.

Unlike Warren at the time, who always looks down on Scott for being poor and scrawny - not to mention being practically blind for having to keep his eyes shut and blindfolded tightly at all time - Bobby finds himself feeling sorry for the kid. It must have been awful to live like that for the rest of your life, knowing that to open your eyes and see the world again means doom to everyone and everything around him. He still remembers the numerous occasions when he held Scott's hand to help him around the unfamiliar mansion. Scott despises that, and more than once he snapped angrily, saying that he can find his way around the place just fine, but somehow, Bobby knew the guy was grateful for the help.

He remembers well the day when Xavier gave him that visor, enabling him to open his eyes once more. He remembers the ecstatic smile on Scott's face as he stare at the surroundings in consternation. He remembers when Scott looked at him and smiled. Bobby couldn't see his eyes - he'd have given much to see that - but somehow, he knew the guy was studying his features carefully. He remembers finding himself wondering dimly as to what it feels like to see the world around you in nothing more than various shades of red and black. For some reason, he knew then that that was the time when he realizes that he is falling in love with the guy... only to see it crushed into dust when Scott's gaze fell for the first time onto Jean.

He knew Scott will never return his love... and yet the pain of having his love ignored so casually was quite... unbearable. But he learned how to numb the pain soon enough. His mom used to have this saying: 'No matter how tough things get, keep on a happy face.' So he started to joke around and earned himself the reputation of the prankster of the group. After all, in the face of all the hate and prejudices against mutant-kind at the time, someone needs to take off some of the depressive mood that seems to settle around them... and it might as well be him! If the world out there can live happily with laughter and love, why can't they live like that as well? Being a mutant doesn't mean the end of the world.

Soon enough, his constant carefree attitude helps him in pushing back his ignored love and pain so deep that not even Jean and Xavier were aware of it. No ones knows... well... almost no one. Emma Frost knew. She stumbled upon it when she took over his mind telepathically some times ago. But she kept her silence, much to his relief. Perhaps she is not totally devoid of warmth and compassion as everyone else thought she is after all... or perhaps she merely filed that knowledge away for the time being... ready to be used again as blackmail or weapon or means of manipulation should they face each other in the future. Well, it may work in the past but not anymore, now that the cat is out of the bag.

Lance stirred against him and Bobby looks down again, staring at the sleeping singer thoughtfully. Should he move on? What's the point of mooning over a guy year after year from afar when he knew there's absolutely no chance whatsoever for the love to be returned?

But then... how is he gonna love someone, when he is already head over heel in love with someone else, be it that his love is returned or not?

He had tried in the past to move on. Oh he did have numerous flings in the past left and right. But he is no stranger to commitments and relationships, both with male and female. There was Opal and Brandon, his first male lover whom he met at Harry's. But Brandon betrayed him at last by sleeping with some other guy. Then, there was Sandra years ago after the team was formed. And Matt from the bar... but that was only an on and off fun, with both sides knew about it. Of course, except for Opal and Matt, none of the others knew he is a mutant. And oh yeah, there was Johnny Storm of the Fantastic Four, the infamous Human Torch... now that turns out to be a massive disaster. Johnny called it off after about a few months later... claiming that he is straight after all. Perhaps he couldn't go through the whole 'coming out to his sister and family' or perhaps it's something else. The old saying was right: 'Fire and Water doesn't mix'... or in his case 'Fire and Ice doesn't mix'. They had a good time though, and most important of all, they are still friends. Bobby had no problem with the whole break up anyway. One big fat problem about dating another superhero is that they barely got the chance to see each other, unless they are in the same team of course. When Johnny doesn't go off jaunting into another world-saving adventure or another, Bobby found himself in one... and vice versa. One way or another, the break-up is bound to happen. At least, with normal human being, he'll always find his lover waiting for him with open arms everytime he returns home.

No, he didn't mourn for any of them... because throughout the whole time he was with them... he always had this strange feeling that it was all just a dream... an illusion... He felt like the whole relationship thing wasn't real... He always make a good excuse for himself as to why he walked away from them all - they deserve someone better; he leads a dangerous life and they could be an easy target for his enemies to get him; he leads a hectic life that he could barely spend time with them... the list goes on and on, all the while he is simply avoiding the most obvious of all reasons - they are not Scott.

Now here he is. He is head over heel in love with Scott, and at the same time, he felt a similar... attraction... to this boyband singer sleeping right on top of him... and the only difference with Lance compared to every other people he had relationship with in the past is... it feels quite 'real' with Lance, despite his feelings for Scott. The weird thing about Lance is, the guy was not even his type! Hell, he doesn't even resemble Scott in anyway.

So what is soo special about Lance that makes him care enough to drop everything, even forget his injuries and ignoring Hank's protests to stay in the medlab for further observation, pack up his stuff and flew here all the way from Westchester, just to check up on him?

At first, Bobby thought this feeling towards Lance is normal - a brotherly affection even. With Warren being with Nick now most of the time, and Hank in his lab... he has no one close to hang out or even talk to nowadays. Hanging out with Lance makes him feel... 'normal'. It's not everyday he got to hang out with normal human who doesn't freak out because he is a mutant.

But now, he suspects another reason for this strong feeling...

'Geez... and he is not even my type!!' He groaned inwardly. 'How the Hell did this happened?'

'Look isn't everything.' A small voice answered in his head. 'It's the person inside that matters. You like him because of what he is, not because of his looks.'

'I cannot fall in love now! I'm already in love! With Scott!' He protested again.

'An unreturned love.' The voice replied again. 'One that will wither away and die as time and age passes by. You'd know this... if you stop ignoring and face the reality.'

'It's another illusion.' He protested one last time... weakly... as reality started to unfold before him. 'I'll realize that he is not Scott and walk away from him... just like the others in the past.'

'You knew it was a dream, an illusion, from the very beginning, in the past...' The voice replied again. 'But this time, you can feel that it is 'real'. Face it, you see him as more than friend. After all... you did care enough to drop everything and come down all the way from Westchester to check up on him. You sure didn't do that last time in any of your previous relationship.'

"He's a famous, rich celebrity." Bobby whispered softly.

"And you're a mutant with power to create ice out of thin air. That makes you just as special.' The voice countered.

"He'll be defenseless if any of my enemies decided to attack him just to hurt me. I'll be putting him into danger." Said Bobby.

'Then you must protect him with everything you got, don't you?' The voice countered.

"I want Scott." Bobby whispered resignedly at last.

'You can't have him.' The voice answered. 'That ship had long since sailed. But you can have Lance. Your love for Scott will always be with you. But there is always space for another in your heart.'

Silence at last. Bobby could only lie there on the couch, staring at the ceiling above him as he stroke Lance's hair. Lance stirs again, grunting once in annoyance as he unconsciously slaps Bobby's fingers away from his hair in his sleep, causing Bobby to smile.

He ran his fingers through the sleeping man's hair again and Lance slaps at it again. Laughing softly he ran his fingers through it again and again even as Lance slaps at it again and again in annoyance.

"Uuunnhhh... not tonight, Tristan. I'm so dead tired. Maybe tomorrow night, okay baby?" Lance spoke softly and tiredly.

And Bobby's chuckles immediately halted as quickly as it came.
