It's been tough being me.. You know? I've been sick a lot lately. For a month or so. Just constantly weak and tired and coughing. I'm not going to get it checked out just yet. Kind of scared of what the diagnosis might be..
My beautiful kitty died. He was barely a year old. And he was the biggest sweetheart. Cosmo Creepers (2000-2001)
My boyfriend broke up with me. It was hard. He wants to stay friends, but it's so hard. It always feels like theres this big emptiness inside. A big hole...
And school, oh hell, I've missed so much, I'm not doing so good in it. College is a toss-up right now... I just got my grades. I flunked one of my classes. I tried so HARD but I flunked. I want to die. I think I'm going to throw up...
It's been the worst two weeks of my entire life. If this chapter sucks, I'm sorry. If you hate it, I'm sorry. I don't know what else to do, or say... My life just sucks... a lot...
Um, for any reader who writes to me about this story, I'll send you a special edition short. It's very much an angst thing about Lance, and it's written from true-life experience. Very dark, but I've been told, very good. So, um, that offers up...

Chapter 3--
A tray plopped down next to Lance's at his usualy lunch table. "Hey, Justin, what's u-" He looked up to see the smiling face of JC Chasez. "Um, are you sure you should do that? People might talk..."
JC shook his head. "I don't care. Let them talk, let's eat and enjoy it." He sat down in the seat next to Lance, their legs touching. "Will Justin be joining us?"
"Um.. probably.. He's usually a little late." Lance laughed nervously. He really didn't want Josh to hang out with Justin. It would just be way too weird.
"That's cool. I'd really like to get to know my boyfriend's bestfriend."
"Oh... Okay..."
"Is something wrong? You seem tense." JC reached up to rub his shoulder. Lance tensed at first, worried that someone might see, but after a second, he didn't care.
"Hey! Chasez!" –Until now..
"Hey Joey, Chris." JC gestured for them to sit, and Lance moved a tiny bit away from Josh. "This is Lance."
"Hi, Lance." They both said politely. Lance felt the need to faint. They were being nice. Really nice... whyy?
"Um, hi guys." He gave a little wave, and then darted his eyes away.
"Damn, JC, awesome party coming up! You have to go!"
"Oh, really? Where at?"
"Tiffany Swanson's house. She said she'd fuck me if I could get you, Mr. Popular, to go. Please go, man. I NEED this!"
JC laughed, and rolled his eyes. "Yeah, sure I'll go. Think she'll care if I bring Lance?"
Joey's eyes zoomed straight to Lance, looking him over. "Yeah... I guess...Anyway, I'm still looking for a chick for Chris."
"Joey, I told you, I don't need you to find me a girl. I can get my own."
"Whatever." Joey teasingly punched Chris in the shoulder.
"Well, are you two going to join us for lunch or run off somewhere else?" JC reached under the table and held Lance's hand reassuringly.
"Yeah, Chris is going to go get us some munchies from the machine. Why are you sitting here anyway? Runt doing your homework for ya?"
"No, JOEY, he's NOT. Don't call him runt. He's my boyfriend, okay?"
Chris and Joey didn't move. Lance waited. The STILL didn't move. Their jaws dropped as everything registered.
"Yeah, my BOYfriend, so don't pick on him, or I'll severely hurt you. And leave his friend, Justin, alone too." And as if on cue, Justin trotted over to the table, oblivious to the two new big guys sitting there, and plopped down right next to Lance.
"Hey, Lance, what's – HOLY WOW!" He gasped, and sat straight up.
"Boyfriend? As in, you have sex with him?" Joey finally broke the silence.
"Well, not yet, but eventually, yes. Do you have a problem with that?"
"I... I don't think so. I just... never thought... oh wow. What about Christina?"
"Coverup."
"Oh..."
"Hey, Chris, you alive?" JC snapped his fingers in front of his face a few times. "Hello?"
"Yeah. Just.. a shock."
"I understand."
"DON'T HURT OUR FRIEND!" Joey yelled defensively at Lance, and Lance flinched. JC reached over and rubbed his shoulder whispering 'it's okay' in his ear.
"Don't yell at my boyfriend, alright? BE NICE!"
"Sorry. I just meant, you know, sorry..."
"It's okay. Don't let it happen again. Let's all just eat and get along." They all nodded except Justin who was still in shock, inhalor to mouth. "So, Justin, it's nice to actually get to meet you. How are you today?" JC asked politely reaching over to pat his back. Justin promptly snapped out of whatever funk his was in.
"Um, fine, thank you, how about yourself?"
"Good. Very good." He smiled and rubbed the top of Lance's hand with his thumb while they held hands under the table.
"Lance..." Justin hissed at his friend.
"What, J?" He hissed back.
"Why are they all sitting with us?"
"I don't know. Just be polite, and they will too."
"Okay." Justin whispered, and then turned back around to face the two boys.
"So, uh, Justin is it? What sports you into?" Chris asked, trying to be polite.
"I don't really like sports. I like video games though."
"REALLY!? ME TOO!" Chris almost jumped out of his seat.
"Uh, oh, Justin said Chris's magic words." JC said with a chuckle.
"What one's do you play?"
"All of them! I just got a PS2!"
"Really!? I've been wanting to play one of those! Is it fun?"
"Hell, yeah! Joey and me play all the time, but he's no good at video games. He'd rather go party!"
"I'll play you anyday!"
"Cool! How about afterschool?"
"Okay!" Justin said, and then realized what he'd just done. He'd just made afterschool plans at the house of one of the school bullys. Oh shit.
"Kickass. Haha, Joey, I've found another player!"
"So? Like I care. I'll take Justin out and I'll show him the ropes with women."
"I'm not interested in women." Justin admitted, a faint blush becoming exposed on his cheeks.
"Oh, really? What are you interested in then?"
A blush fully covered Justin's face. "Um... guys..."
"Damn, JC, you convert him too?"
"Huh? NO! He's like that on his own!" Lance giggled, and JC playfully nudged him. "They're getting along just fine, babe." He whispered to him. Lance nodded, and smiled.
They all talked about games, and sports, and parties for a good twenty minutes until JC checked his watch.
"Guys, bells gonna ring. We should head out."
"Why now?"
"Oh, let ME explain, JC!" Joey said sarcastically.
"You don't have to be rude about it."
"Well, Lance, you see, a few years ago, OUR freshmen year, the seniors in the upperclass families, and all their little friends would all get up just before the bell rang, and prance down the center of the lunchroom like friggin royalty. If you were in their way, you were in their way, you were shoved aside like trash. Luckily, JC got us in the group when he started kicking ass in basketball!"
"Oh... But I've never noticed you guys walking before."
"Lance, honestly, when was the last time you and Justin showed up for lunch?" JC nudged him under his chin.
"Oh, I see your point. Very true..." Lance and Justin tended to spend their lunchbreaks in the computer lab hacking away at something like a new webpage, or a Playstation fanclub newsletter. "So, um, well... I guess you'd better get going." Honestly, Lance saw no point to the whole 'high school royalty' thing, but oh well...
"Yeah... You don't mind, do you?"
"No, just don't hurt any of the guys I sometimes hang out with."
Justin immediately glared at Lance. "I AM who you hang out with." Lance just ignored him, and patted Josh's hand 'goodbye.'
JC, Joey, and Chris stood up, fixed their clothes, then went to join the other 'popular' ones. Christina threw herself immediately on him, showering him with kisses, which he just brushed off. Lance sighed, and sipped his milk. She WAS a whore, afterall.
They started their way down the room. It was so weird looking, just, kind of like this gang of American Eagle & GAP dressed guys and girls. All of them had their heads high, and they looked kind of powerful. The look they gave everyone else in the room made Lance's heart drop deep into his stomach. JC was almost like the ringleader of the gang. He was DATING the ringleader of the school heirarchy. The KING of the school. Oh, boy...
JC turned his head just so to see if Lance was watching, smiled at him, winked, then turned back forward.
"Village of the god damned, if you ask me." Justin hissed.
"Hey, you cussed!"
"Yeah, well, that and I technically have a date for afterschool!"
"You're playing video games with Chris, Justin, not going to prom."
"Yes, but Lance!"
"What?"
"Chris is gay."
"DO WHAT!?"
