Chapter Seven: Sleepover Madness
"What's wrong now?" Fang asked Ryan.
"Nothing," Ryan grumbled.
"If you're going to lie, at least be good at it. You haven't touched your eggs."
Ryan looked down at his plate. His scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection. It was fluffy and yellow without any browning. He had a small bowl of white jasmine rice on the side that was drying out due to time passing.
"I'm not hungry."
"Again with the poor lying. I can hear your stomach growling."
"Fine! If you know so much of what I'm thinking then why don't you just say it?!" Ryan growled.
"I make you breakfast and put a roof under your head and this is the thanks I get?" Fang sighed. "If you're not going to eat, then I guess you have all the time you want to do whatever it is that'll make you happy."
Fang got up and dumped Ryan's breakfast in the trash then tossed the dishes into the sink. He then sighed again and looked at Ryan.
"Look, this may not be as fancy as your boyfriend's place but the least you can do is appreciate what I'm doing for you."
"Appreciate? You left me when I was five! You left me with those homophobic bigots."
"I didn't leave you by choice, Ryan."
"You're lying! You left me to live with grandpa! How is he anyways?"
"He's dead. He's been dead for nine years now."
"Wait what? How come told me?"
"Because only I know. Mom and Dad sent me to Japan to live with Grandpa because he was the only person in our family that would take me in. When I turned sixteen, he died a few months later. He died in his sleep. I've been taking care of myself since then."
"Why didn't you send letters to us? You could have came back and stayed with me."
"Do you even know why I was sent to Japan in the first place?"
"I thought it was because you didn't listen to anything Mom and Dad had to say."
"No, it was because I'm just like you. Gay. They didn't like it too much so they sent me away because they couldn't deal with a gay son. I guess they couldn't handle you either."
"Fang, I'm—I'm sorry."
"Don't worry about it. Now let me guess, you miss your boy right? So why don't you invite him and all your friends here tonight for a sleepover? Or do boys not do that now at your age?"
"Really?! You mean it?!" Ryan said standing up in joy.
"As long as you guys don't ruin my place, it'll be fine."
"I'm going to start calling everyone now!" Ryan exclaimed.
"Looks like I have to go grocery shopping. I'll be back later. DON'T sex up while I'm gone."
"Excuse me?" Ryan asked surprised by his brother's words.
"I was a teen once. I know what goes through a kid your age's mind. DON'T sex up!" Fang said as he walked out the front door.
"Sex up, hah! I'm not going to sex up," Ryan said. "Like he knows who I am."
After Ryan calls his friends, they all show up in ten minutes.
"Wow that was fast, were you all at Declan's house?"
"It's not just Declan's house, I live there too," Blaine said as he came in with his stuffed bag.
"You're sleeping over too?" Ryan asked.
"I'm here for my rematch with your brother and then I'm out!"
"What's in the bag then?"
"What do you think is in there? Alcohol," Declan told Ryan.
"But it's a sleepover not a party."
"Look if I'm going to be at this sausage fest, I might as well be drunk off ass."
"Won't that make you lose at the fight though? Not saying that there will be one."
"Mind your own business."
"Don't have to be rude, Blaine," Declan said.
"It's fine."
"So where is your brother?" Adam asked.
"He went grocery shopping."
"You know I still can't believe he's older than you, Ryan. He's twenty-five and you're seventeen and yet you still look older than him," Riley laughed. "Must suck. Looks like he's not going to get any pussy."
"He's gay so I don't think that's a problem," Ryan said.
"What?!" Blaine yelled. "Are you telling me I lost to a gay guy?"
"Wow your parents had two gay sons, that's a mouthful," Riley said.
"I guess," Ryan laughed. "Guess what he told me not to do, Declan."
"What?"
"He told me not to 'sex up'," Ryan laughed. "Like we're going to sex up."
"Wow, your brother read you two like a book," Riley laughed.
"What? We don't have sex all the time!" Ryan said.
"Right!" Riley said sarcastically.
"We don't! Right Declan?"
"Uh I'm going to sit this one out."
"Declan!"
"What? It's true! We always have sex! Well not lately but you know I'm always up for some--."
"Don't count on it," Fang said as he stood at the door way with bags of groceries covering his top half of his body. "Am I going to get some help or what?"
Blaine walked over and helped out Fang. He took several of the bags and looked at Fang in the eye. It wasn't a mean look it was more like a glance. Fang looked back and rolled his eyes. They both walked over to the kitchen and began to put things away while the other four went upstairs to Ryan's room.
"Great, I hope they're not sexing it up up there," Fang sighed.
"Nah, I don't think they'd do that. I think they're probably just talking. It's been a while since they've seen each other."
"It's been a week. It's not like it's been a month or something. Are kids that weak nowadays?" Fang asked.
"Don't associate them with me."
"Oh right, you're an animal. And I'm not going to fight with you if that's the reason you're here."
"Ryan already told me. So why don't you fight?"
"I never said I don't fight. I said I don't fight to solve my problems. I'm a pacifist of sorts, not a pure pacifist."
"So when do you fight?"
"When my life depends on it."
"So, never?"
"For now."
"So you're gay?"
"Ryan told you guys I see. Yes I am," Fang said putting the last of the groceries away.
"You don't seem gay."
"You mean like the four upstairs? Just because a person doesn't flaunt their homosexuality, doesn't mean they aren't gay. I mean look at yourself."
"I'm not gay!" Blaine growled.
"Right. And there's no reason why you gravitate towards me?"
"I admire you for your strength, that's all. Don't flatter yourself," Blaine laughed.
"Are you saying that I'm wrong? You don't have to be afraid. I won't tell the other boys."
"I'm not gay, okay?" Blaine said.
"If that's what you say," Fang said. "Look I have to get some work done, feel free to do whatever."
"Wait what do you do?" Blaine asked stopping Fang for a brief moment.
"Why do you want to know?"
"Well you live in the rich parts of town so I want to know how you can live in a rich place like me."
"Are you trying to imply that you think that I should poor?"
"No, I just wanted to know what you do."
"Let's just say I shoot people for a living," Fang said.
"So you're a cop?"
"I'll leave that to your imagination," Fang answered with a smile.
"Well cops don't make that much to afford this place all by yourself, so maybe you're a photographer?"
"Like I said, I'll leave that to your imagination," Fang said as he headed towards the basement.
"Can I watch?"
"No."
"Why not? Don't tell me you do gay porn."
"If I say I do, will you leave me alone?"
"Uh."
"I don't, okay. I just like to work in private, that's all. Why don't you go join the orgy upstairs?"
"They're not really my kind of crowd."
"And I am?"
"Well duh!"
Fang sighed and punched in the code to the basement releasing the lock on the door. The metal door slid up and revealed the entrance to the basement.
"You coming?" Fang asked.
"Sweet—I mean fuck yeah!" Blaine exclaimed eagerly.
"What does your brother do exactly?" Riley asked.
"I don't know, we haven't really gotten that far into our new relationship," Ryan answered.
"You've lived with your brother for a few weeks now and you don't even know what he does? How does that not come up in a conversation?"
"It just hasn't, okay?"
"So you have no clue what he does at all?" Declan asked.
"All I know is that he leaves the house every now and then at night and doesn't come back till the sun comes up. I don't really ask him, I'm not his keeper."
"Aren't you a little curious as to what he does though? I mean all of sudden he just shows up out of nowhere, scarring the shit out of me and my family, and then just takes you away from me."
"Plus he does live in the rich part of town," Riley added.
"Where's his room?" Adam asked.
"Excuse me?"
"If you guys want to know what he does, he must have something in his room to show some sort of clue of what he does," Adam explained.
"Baby, I think you watch a little too much of those detective movies," Riley said patting Adam on his head.
"It is a good idea though," Declan added.
"Even if it is, we can't just waltz into room and snoop around. What if he catches us?"
"I'll be the watchdog," Riley said. "I'm sure I can handle whatever he throws at me."
"Rye Rye, don't you remember what he did to Blaine? What makes you think you can handle him?" Adam said.
"Rye Rye?" Declan and Ryan said with both their left eyebrows cocked.
"Forget he ever mentioned that name," Riley said with a serious face.
"Talk about embarrassing," Declan thought.
"Guys?" Riley asked.
"Oh we got ya, Rye Rye," Declan laughed.
"You're such an ass!"
Adam looked at Ryan and Ryan signaled Adam out of the room leaving Declan and Riley duke it out. Ryan silently closed his door and sighed.
"So you wanna go check out my brother's room?"
"You sure?"
"Yeah, let's see what you can do Adam. I'll stand guard."
"Okay, I'll be as quick and thorough as I possibly can."
"So I was right, you are a photographer," Blaine said.
Several different light sources filled the basement ranging from hot lights to soft boxes. Green screens and other background were arranged in the room. There were also multiple camera's hanging from the wall.
"I guess I should have given you a vaguer clue," Fang said walking to his computer.
Fang started typed manically leaving Blaine in utter shock. He watched as Fang's finger's blazed across the keyboard and several windows popped upon the screen.
"So what are you doing?" Blaine asked after he regained control of himself.
"I'm emailing some of my clients."
"Oh so you work for magazines and companies?"
"I work for everyone and everything."
"Oh."
"If you're bored, you can always go back upstairs."
"Nah, I'm cool."
"Suit yourself."
A few more minutes passed as Blaine just stood there tapping his foot.
"Why don't you take a tour around the room? You may find something to cure that annoying tapping from your foot."
"Sorry," Blaine said as he stopped tapping his foot.
Fang stopped with all that he was doing and turned around in his swivel chair with his right leg crossed over his left leg.
"Like I already told you, I have to get some work done. So I can't talk. I'm sure it's rather boring for you to just stand there and do nothing."
"I'm fine," Blaine lied.
"How old are you?" Fang asked.
"Eighteen, why?"
"Would you like me to take your pictures?"
"Um."
"I'm not asking you to strip down to your bare essentials, I'm just asking if you would like to. I can spare sometime with you since you're so stubborn."
"Then why'd you ask me for my age?" Blaine asked scratching his head.
"Just in case you wanted to strip down, it's my job to know the age of my clients."
"Can I take off my shirt? It's hot in here," Blaine asked.
"Hot? My heater's not even on," Fang thought.
"Sure, if that's what you want," Fang said as he walked to his wall of cameras.
With Fang's back turned, Blaine began to slowly unbutton his button up red and black long sleeve. As Fang was choosing his camera he slowly looked behind himself and saw part of Blaine's bare broad, muscular, hairy chest. He quickly turned back to his cameras with blood rushing to his face.
"Control yourself, Fang. He's barely legal and he's too young for you," Fang thought to himself.
"Hey Fang, you almost done there?" Blaine asked.
"Oh yeah, I was just waiting on you."
Fang walked over to the light switch and shut them off.
"Hey what's with the lights?" Blaine asked.
"I'm going to use some of those lights over there," Fang said pointing to the rectangular box lights.
"Need any help?" Blaine asked.
"I'm fine, it is my job after all."
"Oh yeah, sorry. Every time I look at you, I keep thinking of a little kid."
"Well that just killed my fantasy," Fang thought.
Fang grabbed a couple of the lights and positioned each one on Blaine's right and left side. He switched them on and soft light reflected off of Blaine's hairy body. Fang took another glance upon Blaine, his eyes tracing every inch of Blaine's hairy body. Before he could get any deeper into his budding fantasy, he tripped on one of the light's wires. Blaine quickly caught Fang but Fang's camera crashed onto the floor.
"Hey, you okay?" Blaine asked, his furry arms wrapped Fang.
"Uh y-yeah. I should really start paying attention to where I step."
"Yeah, sorry about your camera."
"Oh it's fine, it was one of my cheap ones."
Blaine and Fang stayed in their position for a while without either one of them saying a word, they just both looked into each other's eyes.
"I like you, Fang," Blaine finally blurted out.
"Feeling's mutual," Fang smiled.
"I'm not even going to ask you what that means," Blaine said as he made his way to Fang's lips.
Suddenly there was a loud scream coming from upstairs.
"What was that?" Blaine asked.
"I don't know. Let me go check it out," Fang said leaving Blaine's embrace.
"I'm coming with you," Blaine said following closely behind.
Adam looked back and Ryan gave him two thumbs up. Adam nodded and entered Fang's room. Upon entering, he noticed a very plain room. The walls were plain white with nothing tacked onto them. A perfectly made king sized bed and a plain black dresser. Adam looked through the dresser and found nothing, not a thing, not even clothes. He looked under the bed which was also clear of anything just the white carpet. He walked over to the master bath and noticed that that was even bare, no toiletries, no anything.
"This is so strange. Why would a guy, a person even, have nothing in their room? There's not even dust!"
Adam stared at the mirror thinking to himself when he noticed something forming in the mirror. He looked closer into the mirror and still couldn't piece the image through his eyes. He then cupped his hands around his eyes to reduce the light. Suddenly a gruesome grotesque face popped right into Adam's face.
"AH!" Adam yelled as he fell back.
Adam crawled back and with his body trembling. Ryan, Declan, and Riley barged in and found Adam trembling in fear.
"Baby, what's wrong?" Riley asked comforting him.
"The mirror. There's something in the mirror!" Adam yelled.
"What? What do you mean?"
"I saw a face in there!" Adam said hugging Riley. "I wanna go home!"
"Okay, but you're not making any sense."
"I WANNA GO HOME!"
The three looked at each other confused as to what Adam saw. Just when they were about to leave, Fang and Blaine arrived.
"What's going on? What are you guys doing in my room?"
"We were—playing hide and seek?" Ryan tried to lie.
"Blaine, where's your shirt?" Declan asked.
Blaine's eyes widened as he forgot that he took off his shirt.
"It was hot so I took it off," Blaine answered.
"Look, I don't care what you guys were doing in here, but I want you all out of here, now!" Fang demanded.
They all nodded and walked out.
"Except you, Adam," Fang said as he closed the door and locked it.
"Hey! What are you doing?!" Riley yelled banging on the door.
Fang slammed Adam against the door and held him firmly against it.
"What did you see?"
"I-I."
"Tell me and maybe I can help you, Adam. That's all I ask."
"I saw—I saw."
"Tell me, Adam!" Fang yelled.
Water began to fill Adam's eyes as he found it difficult to answer Fang's demands.
"Stop it Fang!" Blaine said pulling Fang away.
Adam ran to the door, unlocked it and ran to Riley.
"What's going on?" Blaine asked.
"All of you just stay out of this room, you got that?" Fang asked.
They all nodded then Fang closed the door.
"Fang?" Blaine asked.
"So much for a sleepover," Fang bitterly said.
