Gay

Hey guys, here's a rewritten chapter 5. After getting so much negative feedback on that chapter, I reread that chapter and felt that I was on crack or something because I agree it was terrible. So after some heavy thinking, I rewrote the fifth chapter. Hopefully this chapter will be better than the first.

Chapter Five: Drake Jackson

"You sure everything is going to be fine? Maybe we should get him a doctor," Declan said.

"Look, I've been studying under my dad for years. He has no internal damage to his organs, he just needs some rest," said Riley.

"I never thought of you as the medical type," said Blaine.

"Yeah, I get that a lot. Anyway, chicks dig doctors."

"And yet you're still single," I said positioning myself up against the pillows.

"Ryan! Are you okay? Does it hurt?" Declan asked hovering over me.

"Never better. I'm guessing I just added a few more weeks for my bruises to heal," I joked.

"Can you give us some space?" Declan asked Riley and Blaine.

Riley and Blaine looked at each other, shrugged, and left. Once they were gone, Declan held my hand and began to cry.

"I thought I lost you," Declan cried.

"How long was I out?"

"Two days."

"Is that all? That doesn't seem very long?" I thought.

"I'm sorry for worrying you," I said.

"What happened to you? Who was in here with you?"

"I knew I had to explain this to you sooner or later."

"So? Are you going to tell me now or what?"

"Remember when I said that I wasn't a virgin? He's the guy I lost it too."

"Oh, so he was here so you guys could--."

"No, you didn't let me finish. I lost my virginity to him, that's correct but it wasn't voluntary. He forced himself on me when I had no one: family or friends. After that, he claimed me as his bitch, his sex slave from freshman to sophomore year."

"So what about this year?"

"He found someone better than me so he tossed me aside. He kicked me out of his place so I found refuge at the school. My life has been anything but easy."

"What's his name? I'll find him and get my revenge for hurting you."

"Declan I love you and everything but I-I can't tell you who he is. You'll murder him when I need to take care of this myself."

"He raped you and practically beat you to a pulp and you're giving him pity?"

"I know it's stupid but this is how I deal with things. My problems are mine, no one else's."

"Fine, be that way. But do you want to go somewhere? Maybe a date?"

"But we have school."

"School's over today."

"Dammit, I ruined my perfect record," I sighed.

"Don't worry Sugar Bear, you'll spend the rest of the day with me. Aren't I good enough?"

I looked at Declan and he gave me that signature smile of his. He touched my face and kissed me on my dry, chapped lips and my two day old bad breath. He pulled away quickly and covered his mouth.

"But before we go, someone needs to use the bathroom essentials."

"You're the one that kissed--."

"I love you, Sugar Bear but go, just go," Declan said pointing to the bathroom.

I glare at him and head for the bathroom. I brushed my gnarly teeth and took a quick, hot shower. I got out with a towel wrapped around my waist. I walked over to our bed and sat down.

"What are you doing? Go get dressed."

"Didn't Riley say that I needed some rest? Maybe it's better if I stay in bed."

"You're right. How stupid of me to rush things like this when you just woke up. I'm such an idiot."

"At least you're cute so it makes up for you being an absent minded idiot."

"Thanks...I think," Declan said wrapping his arms around me. "Why don't we just go to bed?"

Just as he suggested we fell asleep, his arms wrapped around my body. The next day, I woke up and Declan was gone. There wasn't any school today since today was a staff development day. I got dressed and did the bathroom essentials. Once I was done, I walked down the stairs and smelled something burning. I quickly walked into the kitchen and there was Declan burning some food.

"Hey Sugar Bear, you're up!"

"Well how could I sleep when Honey Bear is stinking up the whole house?" I laughed.

"Don't diss on my cooking. My mom says I have exquisite cooking skills," Declan said as he put the burnt food items on a plate.

We both sat down at the kitchen table and passed me the plate.

"Eat up, we are going out today."

I looked at the food and all I saw was black. My face scrunched up at the sight of it. The smell was awful and it didn't even look edible. Declan gave me the puppy dog face and I just sighed. Hesitantly taking the fork, I hacked at the big, square black piece and a puff of black dust expelled out of the thing every time I stabbed it.

"Sugar Bear, quit playing with your food. Come on, we got a train to catch."

"I'm not hungry," I said just as my stomach grumbled. "See! Even my tummy agrees."

"Don't be such a spaz," Declan said as scooped up this thick black goo from the plate. "Here comes the airplane!"

"I'm not a baby," I growled.

Declan laughed and shoved the goo into my mouth. Ew whatever was in my mouth tasted horrible. I wanted to barf right there but Declan spent so much time and effort just to make me breakfast. I looked at him, then closed my eyes and swallowed.

"Okay, that's enough let's go," I said standing up.

"You gotta eat more than that," Declan laughed.

I sat back down and glared at him. I took my fork and shoved a piece of "food" into Declan's mouth. Declan's eyes widened and he spit it back out.

"On second thought, eating out sounds splendid."

Declan and I walked outside and we got into Declan's car. As always he drove while I just looked into the scenery this time though I had my ear buds in as I was listening to a song. Declan pulled out my left ear bud and looked at me.

"What are you listening to?" Declan asked.

"Oh it's nothing."

"Don't lie, you know I'll find out sooner or later."

"It's the song I want to sing at the Spring talent show," I said.

"The Spring talent show is months away. It's only October," Declan said.

"I know, I just want to get everything right."

"What's the song? I bet it's a love song isn't it?"

"It's about love, but it's not a love song. It's about losing love."

Declan pulled off to the side of the road and grabbed my shoulder.

"Losing love?" Declan asked looking straight at me.

"It's not about you or us, at least I hope not. I just like the song and it's really emotional so I thought it'd be a good song to sing at the talent show."

"Oh, good. For a minute there I thought you wanted to--."

"I would never leave you, you're my knight. You saved me and I--I love you. Even though it's been like a few days. I know that you're the one."

"The feelings mutual," Declan said as he kissed me on my cheek.

Suddenly Declan's phone started to vibrate against my leg.

"Dammit, who's calling now?" Declan said reaching into his pockets.

"It's called a cell phone, it's bound to go off," I laughed.

"Hello? Oh hey Riley, what's up?"

"Riley? Hey tell Doc Rie that I'm fine! He doesn't need to be checking up on me!" I laughed again.

"You hear that? He says he heard you but he wasn't calling for you."

"Bummer, well what does Doc Rie want?"

Declan covered my mouth with his free hand and listened to Riley. I put my left ear bud back in and started to pay close attention to the lyrics. After a few minutes of Declan arguing back and forth on the phone with Riley, Declan finally gave in to whatever they were arguing about and told him that we'd be there in a few minutes. Declan hung up the phone and slouched in his seat.

"So what did you just get us into?" I asked.

"Riley found some person at his dad's hospital and he wants us to soften up the girl so he can ask her out."

"Why us?"

"Well not us, you."

"Me?! Why me! I don't know how to smooth talk a girl well I don't know how to smooth talk a guy either but still."

"I don't know but he can't get the girl to talk to him and he wants your help."

"Great, well we'll see how this goes."

Declan drove back on to the road and took his time to the hospital and by take his time I mean go under the speed limit, I guess it was to torture Riley for ruining Declan's plans. Finally we got to the hospital. Riley was waiting outside and he looked steamed.

"Declan, what the fuck took you so long?!" Riley asked.

"Look you ruined my plans with Ryan tonight so deal with it."

"Ladies, cool it! Speaking of females, where's the girl I have to talk to?"

Riley lead us inside the hospital. He then led us to the room and stopped.

"Well we're here. Now I want you to do all you can to get him to talk," Riley said.

"Him? I thought it was a girl," I asked.

"I lied okay. I didn't want to say that I fell for a guy on the phone, it'd be weird."

"Wow, two gay guys and they're best friends. Scary."

"I'm not gay, I'm...bi," Riley said.

"Whatever, still gay," I pointed out.

"Just go," Riley said pushing me into the room and slamming the door.

"H-Hello? Is someone there?" a soft voice asked.

I walked into the room and saw a guy surrounded with wires. He had short brown hair, the same build as me, and he had a few cuts and bruises on his face.

"Hi, my name is Ryan and Doc Rie wanted me to talk to you," I said calmly.

"Doc Rie? Y-Your mean that doctor apprentice?"

"Yeah, the doctor that looks like a jock? That's him."

"Oh, okay. What about?"

"Um, I'm sorry but can I ask you how you got so battered up?" I asked.

"I-I fell down the stairs," the guy said looking at his clasped hands.

"Fell down the stairs? Sounds like the excuse I would use if I was abused," I thought.

"Look, I know it's weird talking to a complete stranger but you can tell me the truth," I said as I lifted up my shirt revealing my abuse scars.

His eyes widened and looked up at me.

"He hurt me. He went back to his boyfriend and kicked me to the curb," the boy cried.

"He? Who's he?" I asked sitting down next to him.

"I can't say. He'll come back and kill me," the boy said.

"No, he won't. I'll be here and so will Doc Rie. We won't let anything happen to you."

"I-I don't know. I don't want to take that chance."

"If you don't tell me, more people might get hurt. You tell me and we can get that man and put him behind bars before he hurts anyone else."

"Jackson, Drake Jackson."

My eyes quickly dropped to the floor. He had the same guy hurt him that hurt me. How many people did he hurt? I have to stop this now.

"Is there something wrong?" he asked.

"So you're DJ's second toy," I said.

"You know DJ?"

"I was his first."

"You?"

"Yeah, me. I guess it's time that to toughen up and take DJ down. Now that I see that he hurts anyone that goes to him, not just me, I have to stop him. This can't happen anymore."

"But you can't stop him. There's no proof that he abused both of us."

"Then I'll just have to catch him in the act."

"What are you going to do?"

"DJ likes defenseless guys. I can be defenseless."

"No, you can't. I won't let you!" Declan said barging into the room.

"Declan? Look, this guy is hurting guys like us. We have to stand up against him!" I said.

"I know, but I'm not going to let you near him again. I'm not going to have that feeling that you're gone. I love you!" Declan said.

Riley walked in and walked towards the guy in the bed.

"Hi, my name is Riley. What's your's?" Riley asked holding out his hand.

"It's A-Adam," Adam said shaking Riley's hand.
