Title: Doomed Love Author: Adam
Disclaimer: I do not know the sexual orientation of NSYNC or BSB but this is not meant to reflect on there true status. This is a pure work of fiction and nothing more. No profit is been made; it is being written out of enjoyment.
Authors: Hey everyone. Beginnings of Something New is still being written. This is a slow start, and i'm very tired so forgive problems. It will get better and more exciting but i wanted some base to start from. Hope you like it.

Now on with the story...
It was doomed from the start, but I didn't notice, or perhaps didn't want to notice.
My name is Nathan, and it was on that cold, day over a year ago now, that my life changed forever, but a change for the better or worse has yet to be seen.
I was in my local Coffee shop's bathroom the day my exam results came in, struggling not to puke. Leaving the bathroom I glanced at the clock, which read 7:20am. Pretty early for me, and for the coffee shop, which opened early so I could come in. The owner of the shop was my best friends, boyfriend, Mike. I was in desperate need for caffeine that morning. Those who have had to wait for results will know what I mean.
These results were the `results' those life altering results that would decide the course of my life.
Sitting against the counter I looked grimly at the three empty coffee cups that I'd accumulated over the fifteen minutes I'd been in the shop. I remember clearly what I did whilst I waited.
My cords.
The deep, night-blue cords I was wearing that way were taking some punishment as I pulled and tugged on them relentlessly, attempting to shake some of my nervousness.
It was at that point the door opened. An old fashioned door with one of those bells. I didn't turn to see who it was, but Mike's eye's looked over the man appreciatively.
The entrance had brought a cool breeze into the shop, which was a sweet relief to the feverish sweat I was working up, and I sighed.
"Can I get a double de-cafe please." A very deep, and...to me erotic voice spoke. (I'm just weird that way)
"Well, man." Mike began. "We're not open yet." I didn't turn to look at the customer but by the look on Mike's face it must have been a sad one. Mike was a sucker for puppy eyes and a pout, so immediately changed his mind.
"Ah hell. I'm serving this bum here," Mike nodded his head to me. "So I guess one more wouldn't make a difference. A double de-cafe you said?" Without waiting for a response he turned and quickly got the order done.
"A sweet drink, for a delicious looking guy." Mike said, handing over the drink.
Although Mike was straight, and dating my friend, who was a `girl' some of the things he said made me really think about his sexual orientation.
He turned and went back into his shop, taking chairs down from the tables and wiping them down again.
A barely understandable "Thank you" Came from the guy, before he pulled the warm drink to his lips, and moved to sit In the stool beside me.
Unlike some people who can sit with anyone and feel comfortable, I am very sensitive about my personal space and shuffled slightly in my seat. Although some of the shuffling from trying to get a look of this guy.
`Hey, I'm gay, hr's a guy. You figure it out!'
I couldn't see his face as a baggy tracksuit top with a big hood overhung his face, allowing only a little spiky blond hair visible.
I had only heard his voice, but even that was attractive, giving me high hopes of his looks. It may sound vain, but I'm not into looks. Just nice to look at when pining over a new guy. And the guy next to me sounds definite pine material.
//Who is this guy?// I thought. //...And how is he doing this to me?!// At this point I was crossed between my complete and utter horror at seeing my exam results, and my surprising lust I was already feeling for this man.
Whilst taking another small sip at my dwindling coffee the man beside me spoke once again.
"Morning."
//Oh that voice!//
I practically spat out what I was drinking in an attempt to respond.
//Great first impression!// I thought, chastising myself. //He must think I'm a total loser!//
"Morning, man!" I finally got out, not been able to hide the beet-red blush that covered my face.
"Cold?" He asked, his voice cutting through my very soul.
"Nervous." I responded, thinking he was taking my shaking hand as the temperature.
"Anything I could help with?" He asked.
//He wants to help me and he doesn't even know me! That is either incredibly sweet, or totally scary!// I thought to myself, whilst thinking how to answer.
"No," I finally responded, noticing his shoulders slump as I replied so abruptly. "If I've failed now, it's too late to do anything about it."
He seemed to perk up when I answered more fully and turned a little more towards me.
I still couldn't see what he was hiding under that big hood, but I caught a glimpse of pale smooth skin, and a glint of green eyes.
//Just keep talking, he's taking your mind off the exams.//
"What exams you taking?" He asked, making me think I was taking too much time in my own head.
"Oh, well..."
"It's okay, if you don't want to tell me that's fine."
"No, it's not that. I took English, Geography, Psychology, Business and History." I answered, taking a breath.
"Wow! Interesting. Why those?" He asked me. Normally I wouldn't go on in to detail why I chose the subjects I did, but this guy sounded generally interested.
"Well, Geography and History I have a natural interest in and am good at. The same with English, plus I', hoping to go into journalism or maybe some kind of writer."
He nodded his head, or what I thought was a nod from under that hood.
"Business because...well, in the world today you need business to get somewhere, and it helps with a lot of things. Psychology is because it's something different and sounded interesting to me." I finished with a smile, proud at what I had done, even if my exams were a flop.
"Wow, man." Was his response. "Nothing there I would have done. Music's more my thing. Maybe business as well."
"Really? Well, what do you do?" I asked.
"I uh...that is..."
"It's okay. I shouldn't have asked. I mean we don't even know each other."
The guy remained quiet a while and I looked up at the clock, noticing it was almost eight. My results were out at 8:15, and it was about a ten minute walk from here.
"Well, it's been nice talking but I gotta go."
The guy shrugged his shoulders and I shrugged in response, not really sure what kind of response to expect.
"Bye Mike!" I called, before leaving.
As I walked down the street I heard footsteps running towards me. Living in a city like the one I did I knew how to defend myself and quickly side stepped and flipped the guy who was almost on top of me.
"Ughnnnn!" Came from the ground.
It was the guy.
The guy who I'd been talking to moments ago.
"Oh man, I'm so sorry. I never meant to do that. I mean I meant to, but I didn't know it was you!" I'm so sorry!"
Then I realised, his face was uncovered.
//Beautiful// Was all I could think.
He had spiky blond hair, which fit in with his pale green eyes. His face was smooth and pale. I recognised him, but couldn't figure out from where.
"So," The incredibly good looking man began, looking put out as he struggled to get up, knocking my offered hand away. "I suppose you are gonna run off to the paper's now huh? I can just see the headlines, `Famous NSYNCER attacks innocent young man.'"
"WHAT?" I asked, louder than I had intended.
"I'm famous, and it seems every time I blow my nose someone's writing about it." He said, not the least bit sorry for what he'd just said.
"Oh, so I'm like that as well?" I was really angry now. If it's one thing that annoys me is people making opinions of me when they don't even know me.
"No...yes...that's not what I meant." The young man stuttered out.
"Then what exactly do you mean?" I asked, my fury growing with every word he stumbled out.
"I just mean..." The stranger sighed in defeat. "I'm sorry, alright. I just wanted a friend." With that he turned and began to walk away.
Something about how he said those final words struck me deep down inside.
"Maybe you could walk me to the results Dept." I said, loud enough so the still walking away guy, could hear.
When I received no answer and still feeling bad I resulted to begging. "Please! It'd mean a lot to me."
Wordlessly he turned and began walking beside me.
"You know," I started attempting to get some conversation going. "You look really familiar, and as you said you were famous, I was wondering."
"You mean you don't know who I am?" He asked, his face looking disbelieving.
"Let's not start this again. I don't know who you are, and I'm not after you're body!" I covered my mouth, blushing again within such a short time. "I, eh...I mean you're money."
"Nsync, Lance Bass." He said.
My eyebrows were furrowed in confusion so he continued.
"You know...Nsync, `No Strings Attached' Bye Bye Bye" he sang the words out for me before it clicked. I saw his face, and remembered something I'd read once.
"You mean you know the one with curly hair! Can you get me his autograph!" I screamed excitedly, hoping my grin wasn't too transparent. I'd read once that Justin and JC were the main attractions to the fans, and then came the other three.
"Yes, i...wait a second!" Lance said with a grin, catching onto my joke. "You said that on purpose didn't you?!" He asked.
I only nodded in response, and he was about to say something else before his mobile phone rang.
"Justin...yeah i....not until 10:20...I always am...don't be stupid...bye."
Only hearing Lance's side of the conversation it was hard to get what it was about so I waited to see if Lance would explain.
"Justin was just wondering if I was planning on coming to the photo shoot, when it was, if he should come and pick me up, blah, blah"
"So, you gonna go?" I asked.
"No. I promised I'd be with you for the results and I will."
"But, i..."
"No, Nathan." He said my name remembering hearing it from Mike in the coffee shop. "I am coming with you and that's final."
No more talking happened on the way to getting my results. Finally arriving there my shaking had started again.
"It's okay, Nath!" Lance said, making me blush more that he'd already shortened my name like close friends do.
He rubbed my shoulders a minute or two before I went in and got them.
Sighing my name off I waited for the sealed envelope to be fished out. I turned back to Lance through the glass door that I had entered and saw him give me the thumbs up.
I finally took my results and went outside, looking straight into Lance's eyes.
"This is it!" I said to him, as if we'd been friends for years. Karen was meant to be here with me but she was on an expedition in Italy, my parents were back home in England.
I fumbled to open the envelope and when I finally did the sheet with my grades was in front of me, but my eyes were closed.
"Open your eye's, Nath. Tell me how you did. I believe in you!" Lance said, with...pride? in his voice.
That made it even harder to look. I'd feel I'd let Lance down if I'd failed.
Getting the inner power I had searched years for I opened my eye's and my jaw dropped, and my lip quivered.
