This story is fiction. This story will also involve sexual and intimate relationships between two (or more) males, and if this offends you or it is illegal for you to be reading, then please leave. If you are under the age of consent for your community, please leave. And if it does offend you, I honestly don't know why you're even here in the first place. Really, though. It's perplexing.

Allegra tapped Dee's shoulder after school. He turned around to face her. "So how'd it go with Jake?" she asked.

"Hey, how'd you know?" No response. He shook his head. "...Not great. I seemed that I caught him at a very bad time."

"How bad?"

"Making out bad."

"Oh." Allegra put her books down on a nearby table. Dee sat down next to her. "You seem to be taking it well."

Dee put his chin on his hands and gave a little bit of an exhaling breath that made his hair fly up. "Yup. I still want to talk to him though." he sighed. "...sorry."

Allegra rolled her eyes. "Seriously. Shut up with that, you're getting on my nerves." she pulled out a book: Sophie's World. She flopped it at him for a little bit. "...You were right about the book, by the way. I finished the entire second half last night." He laughed, and she did too. "So. Thanks." She was quiet for a while, just smiling at Dee. Dee couldn't help but feel a little better.

They both turned around seeing a shadow looming over them. They were surprised to see Kari with Kae in tow. Dee, rather tired, turned back to his original position but put his head in his arms. Allegra just glared at Kari. "What do you want?"

Kari looked down at her. "Who ARE you?" Kae nudged her, reminding her of why she was there. "Anyway. I- well, I was just wondering. If you needed any help. Or something."

Allegra, rather confused, just continued staring. Dee was aroused from his place. He slowly turned around again to examine Kari. She seemed earnest for once, and Kae was obviously a little more than mortified. "...Why?"

"Because. You're pathetic. You're depressing. And you're seriously bumming me out." Kari flipped her hair over her shoulder. "It's not personal or anything, if that's what you think."

Allegra raised an eyebrow. "Whaddya have in mind?"

Kae came up from behind Kari. "We might not be the favorite people here. But Kari and I know everything about everyone at Cinder High. You want information, we got it."

Kari shrugged. "Go ahead. Ask away. I guarentee you won't get a better opportunity."

Allegra contemplated whether or not she should take advantage of the moment. Consensus said "yes." "Alright then. I've heard worse excuses to gossip. Tell me about that one girl... what was it? April Something?"

"April Donnely. It's all true. The fight at prom, the polygamist parents, AND the beastiality."

Allegra gasped. "No way! You mean the dog-" Kari nodded. "NO. Oh that is sick." she turned to Dee. "You gotta ask 'em something."

Dee thought for a little bit, then realized what the perfect question was. "Do you know Jake's schedule? Could you tell me where he is right now?"

Kari turned to Kae. He spoke a little apprehensively. "I've got everyone's schedule memorized. Jake does a lot of stuff though, so I only half know. After school today, I'm pretty sure he either tutors at the library, or goes to the pool until five... and sometimes, he stays for an extra hour just to practice."

Dee smiled. "Thanks. Allegra, I'll see you tomorrow." Allegra waved bye. Dee turned to Kari and Kae. Both were staring at the ground. "And thank you both."

Kari scoffed. "Oh, please. Just grow a pair and be cool."

Dee laughed and walked in the direction of the school swimming pool. Allegra looked around. Returning to Kari's side, she let her voice plummet. "Alright. Why don't you tell me about Tilly Underwood?"

Jake wasn't sure what to think anymore. The entire swim meet was some cacophonous scramble that he couldn't decipher. All his friends noticed, and so did coach; he was swimming like an amateur. So it was 5:30 now, the pool was empty, and he was butterflying his yayas away.

He was a little surprised to see a pair of shoes standing off the edge of the deep end of the pool. Jake surfaced and stretched his goggles onto his forehead, wiping his face with his hands. There was Dee, standing with his books in hand and bag on the ground next to him. Jake treaded water, floating with ease and looking up at Dee. "What're you doing here?"

"I, uh..." he bent down to slip off his tennis shoes and socks, and while he spoke he sat down to dangle his feet into the water. "I really wanted to say sorry." Jake didn't say anything. He continued looking up at him, still a little anticipant. "I mean, you did a lot for me, and I shouldn't have done what I did. Ellie and Keira were my best friends, and I should've known they wouldn't want me to do that... and you were such a good friend to me, but I was too stupid to realize it." he sighed. "So... I'm sorry."

Jake pulled his goggles over his eyes, then dolphin kicked to the wall, flipped over and pushed off to swim to the opposite side. He was to the other side and back very quickly, and Dee couldn't help but admire his amazingly slick musculature work. He was at home in the water as any fish in the sea- his strokes were powerful, and Dee could see each muscle in his body in action with every movement. Of course, Dee was surprised when he felt Jake's hand shoot out of the water below and grab his ankle. Jake pulled Dee under the water, and Dee gave out a yell. "Ah!"

Dee struggled in the water a little- then he felt himself being pulled up by Jake, his body in his arms and their chests pressed together; only divided by Dee's soaked t-shirt. They surfaced. Dee took a humongous breath of air. Jake pulled his goggles over his head and placed them around Dee's neck. Dee was relieved to see Jake smile. He pushed a couple of wet strands of hair out of Dee's face. Dee couldn't help but become lost in Jake's eyes again, their faces inches apart. "Hey... Look. It was my fault. I was just really worried about you. When I saw what you did, I couldn't handle the possibility that you wouldn't be around."

"Uh, Jake..."

"So don't worry. I overreacted. I shouldn't have been so angry."

"Jake."

"Dude. Come on. I care about you. Seriously."

"Jake, I can't swim."

Jake's mouth opened and he looked down at their feet. Jake was strong enough to suspend both of them by just kicking, but Dee was obviously struggling. He laughed, but Dee was hardly amused. "Oh." he remarked. Dee gasped again as Jake dived under him and lifted his legs above the water so that Dee was floating on his back. Jake surfaced and talked into his ear. "Keep your back straight, belly and chin up. I'm pretty sure you can float." he whispered. Dee felt Jake's hand push his back up; if he wasn't so cold he would be burning up. "Good."

Jake held his back and his shoulder, and Dee felt himself floating to the more shallow side of the pool as Jake pushed him along. He blushed, craning his head back so that his eyes could meet Jake's again. "Err... thanks."

"No problem, Dee." They were quiet for a little bit until Jake spoke up again. "So anyway. I'm just glad you're still here. And if you ever do anything like that again Dee, I'll be really pissed. So don't."

Dee wasn't sure to be flattered or scared. He chose the former and he smiled at him. "I'm glad I'm still here too. Thank you, Jake."

Dee felt his bare feet against the rough rock of the edge of the swimming pool. He put his legs down in the water, and was relieved to feel the bottom of the pool under his feet. Jake stepped out via the ramp and Dee followed.

This was the first time Dee saw any of Jake's skin, and he had to admit that he was impressed. He obviously had a swimmer's body; tall, lean, smooth, not a bit of hair or fat anywhere. He was wearing tight spandex trunks that went down to his knees, but still showed off his thighs. He had a fairly even tan too, which was more than Dee could say for a lot of people. Jake ran a hair through his wet hair so it was stylishly ruffled.

Then Dee realized that it was evening and his clothes were drenched to the bone. He crossed his arms tightly and moved around a little, trying to muster warmth from the cold gale that was blowing in. "Jake, aren't you cold?" he whimpered.

Jake walked to the nearby bleachers and procured a towel. He briefly passed it over his hair and body to get rid of some of the water, then quickly ran to Dee and draped it over his body. "Hope it's okay that you're carrying all my stuff." Jake said, referring to the towel and goggles. Dee laughed, but even with the towel he was still shivering. Jake frowned. "...Alright, this is gonna seem weird, Dee, but... you'll need to take off your clothes."

Dee's shivering almost stopped. "Pardon?"

Jake laughed. "Sorry, but I'm serious. Hypothermia, dude. Come on, let's go to the lockers and get some dry clothes. Or you'll get sick."

Jake headed over to the lockers and Dee had no choice but to follow. Needless to say, he was a little bit nervous. The locker room had a couple of nice showers in booths and Jake took Dee to one of them. Jake shut the door- with both of them in the booth.

Dee hesitated, his back to the showerhead, facing Jake, who was standing in front of the door. "Uh... Jake?"

"Yeah?"

"If I'm gonna take my clothes off... I'd be more comfortable if I was alone."

"I know. But all the shower heads use the same water. So if we used seperate showers, neither of us would have hot water. That's why we share." Jake reached behind Dee to get to the shower, and the proximity again made Dee nervous. "Come on, I'm cold too you know."

The hot water burst through the shower head and hit Jake first, who was in the right position for it. He ran his face through it and smiled, enjoying the warmth. He looked at Dee through the water veil. "Dee. Your clothes. If you don't, then I will."

Dee fervously shook his head. He was not happy with this situation at all, and Jake could tell. "Dee, what's wrong?"

Dee cleared his throat. He fidgeted a little, gaze pasted to the ground, gait and personality suddenly quiet and withdrawn. Only a memory could have such power. Jake understood.

"Ah. Sorry."

"It's okay. I'm the sorry one here."

Suddenly Dee felt Jake's thumb and forefigner press on his chin and lightly lift his head up; Jake was giving such a gentle grin that it made Dee melt inside. The falling water only made Jake look more beautiful as it streamed down his skin, somehow not getting into his eyes. Dee began to ramble in his mind, every incoherent meandering in his head centered around Jake: how he was one of those few who looked better with wet hair. How he could put up with someone as annoying as him. How gentle, how tender, how... "Dee. Maybe I can make your experience a little better."

Dee swallowed, afraid of what might happen next. Jake inched a little closer, but Dee didn't draw back. "I...wha?"

Jake got even closer to his face. Dee could smell him: chlorine from the pool, some soothing aroma leftover from a deordorizer perhaps. It calmed Dee's nerves, and he couldn't think anymore. "Don't say no. I'll do it anyway."

Dee was about to say something until Jake, his thumb and finger still stroking Dee's chin, leaned in and kissed him on the lips.

It was a peck really. Their lips had just brushed up against each other, so softly that Dee wasn't sure anything was there. But he had felt it; an explosion of feeling that burst to the rest of his body until he was warmed not by the water, but by the emotion. Jake drew back a little to open his eyes and look in Dee's again. He cleared his throat a little bit. "...Sorry. I shouldn't have."

It was Jake's turn to be surprised when Dee threw his arms around Jake's waist and his head on his chest. His ear lay on Jake's heart, and Dee could feel his pulse, a wonderful rhythm. Dee hugged Jake tightly. "Don't be sorry. Please don't be sorry."

Jake chuckled, and Dee felt his chest heave with the laugh. Dee couldn't help but feel like a kid again as Jake held him back, whispering in his ear. "Okay. If you're not, then I'm not." Dee smiled and he felt Jake kiss the top of his head. Dee hugged him just a little tighter. "Huff -Dee, you're kinda choking me."

Dee finally let go and stepped back, but still close enough to Jake so that he could be under the hot water too. Jake reached over and stroked Dee's wet hair, and Dee just kept smiling. "So... you're okay with this?" Jake asked.

In that moment, Dee felt better. He felt better about everything that had happened to him, about Diana Celes, even about Ellie and Keira. He got up on his tip toes and kissed Jake on the cheek, and he saw Jake turn a little red after he did. "Yeah."
