Dancing with the Dragon Chapter 58: Introductions by Tripp Savidge

  • Scene 1 *

Skye watched Corbin step through the portal. The image of the palace garden shimmered and then Chaz followed. He glanced at Mica, who gave a nod letting him know he and Garrett could follow. Mica would be the last one through after everyone else had crossed.

Garrett squeezed Skye's hand, reassuring him as they stepped forward. He hadn't thought about it at the time he'd suggested the location for the portal, but the bridge and torii gate worked well and were wide enough for two people to enter at once.

A tingle passed through his body from the magic. Skye steeled himself and kept his shields up so he wouldn't be bombarded as he was the last time. They stepped onto the bridge and moved forward to allow room for the others to follow.

"Welcome home," Kleitos greeted them with a smile.

No klaxons, sirens, or glaring spotlights this time. Just the nighttime sounds that should have been there and the low-level lighting that illuminated the garden paths. Skye didn't hesitate before stepping into Kleitos's arms and hugging him tightly. Missed you.

"Glad you're back. Once you greet the others, I have things to go over with you to help prepare the new wing-mates. And to warn you, HealthCorps is demanding some extra precautions." Kleitos stepped back and then pulled his brother into a hug. "I won't admit it if you tell anyone else, but I missed you too, big brother."

Garrett chortled, but Skye felt the love and appreciation through their bond. He saw Braden, Beck, and Kwill behind Kleitos.

"Everything okay?" Skye asked as he pulled Braden into his arms.

"As well as can be expected. I'm not going to overwhelm you with all the updates right now. We'll just focus on what you need to know tonight."

You can lower your shields, I've got you. The wing knew you were returning and promised to give you some peace, Kwill sent.

Skye could feel some of the tension drain away as his bond with Kwill and the other wing-mates solidified. Soon they'd all be on the same side of the veil. He hadn't realized how comforting his connection to Kwill was until it was restored. And yet, there was something else, a pull and a bit of vertigo that made his stomach complain.

Kwill's mental laugh sounded in Skye's mind. Glad to be appreciated, but if you must know, it's even more of a relief to me. I guess we don't understand what we have until we've lost it, and I can say that I don't ever plan on letting you out of range again.

Skye tried to ignore the queasy feeling and push onward. Then you'll be glad to know you're welcome in Underhill. The barrier you encountered is a series of spells the elves cast around the fae lands and have nothing to do with being able to cross over into Underhill. Skye felt Kwill's responding trepidation, but others were joining him, and there was nothing more to say now.

"Skye, I'll need your help with the wing-mates from Hell World. We're concerned that they may not have immunity to what exists on Draga. I have filtering masks for them to use until they're inoculated, but they'll be more likely to accept them from you." Kleitos held up one of the devices to show him.

It hadn't occurred to Skye that just coming to Draga could be dangerous, but now that it was pointed out, it made sense. "Of course..."

"I know it's difficult, but we'll need to take everyone to the infirmary right away and get those from Hell World into a pod. We can introduce the symbiots and bio-comms while they build their immunity. I'd suggest any others who you want to have implants be done at the same time." Kleitos paused, and Skye felt his wing-mate's hesitation. "Also, all of you will have to go through decontamination, tests, and a full scan. You know...in case you brought anything back from the alien world." Kleitos noticeably wouldn't make eye contact.

"But...we've already been here since then," Skye objected.

"Um... HealthCorps doesn't know that and probably best if they not find out," Braden added.

"Sorry," Kleitos said. "Braden's right. They demanded certain concessions as part of bringing the dark fae onto Draga. And they don't understand 'Underhill' and are treating it like an alien planet as well."

"Okay, but it won't be the best introduction to Draga," Skye grumbled.

"The masks are better than dying." Kleitos shrugged. "The symbiots and bio-comms should also help them adapt since not everything translates well into old elvish, and we rely so much on our tech for day-to-day life. The decontamination and scans won't take long for the others. It's an inconvenience, but I understand the concern. In any other situation, it is considered standard protocol when visiting a new world. And do you really want to explain Underhill?"

Skye held up his hand. "No. I get it."

'It would help if we wrapped our new wing-mates in our magic. It will ease their transition,' Mistral suggested.

You can draw from me; it will make it stronger, Garrett said.

You're welcome to take my magic as well, Jayce added.

'Mistral, did you speak to everyone? Did I miss that?' Skye asked his dragon.

'I did. Just as you can include or exclude at will, I can do the same.'

Skye could imagine Mistral's smirk, even if he couldn't see it. Though he had to agree it was a good idea. He turned as he felt Mattekin cross. The druid was the first of the new wing-brothers, and the initial reaction to the garden was a pleasant surprise.

"Wow. It feels 'right.' I expected..." Mattekin's voice trailed off as he spotted the wing-mates he didn't know.

Skye could feel the confusion as the stag-shifter felt the bonds and picked up on the reactions of his new brothers. He tried not to laugh because it was apparent that all four of them had great appreciation for Mattekin's form and were looking forward to seeing more of it.

"Breathe, Mattekin. It will be okay." Skye took his hand and pulled him forward. "We'll do introductions once everyone has crossed." He noted that Mattekin was trying to guess who the others were from what little he'd heard about the wing. The two psions were obvious, and no one could miss the family resemblance for Kleitos, but Braden stumped the stag.

Skye paused and looked around as he felt other wing-mates approaching from the palace just as Kuai ushered Jhaeros through the gateway. Not wanting to take any chances with his night elf, Skye ignored the others' arrival and drew the night elf to him. Kibli and Revali were next, and Skye pulled them close as well.

Jhaeros, Kibli, and Revali. We need you to wear a breathing mask. Kleitos, Garrett's brother, and I will help you put them on. They will protect you from things that might be in the air that would hurt you. It's only temporary, but we don't want you to get sick.

In the air? Jhaeros looked around suspiciously.

Please, trust me, Skye sent, and the night elf nodded as Kleitos handed Skye one of the masks. It was a simple device that covered the nose and mouth and adhered to the wearer without straps or fasteners. Skye knew from some of their training that once in place, it was almost unnoticeable. As he placed it on Jhaeros, Kleitos did the same with Kibli and Revali.

Relax and give it a few seconds, and you should be able to breathe normally. Skye and Kleitos stood back and gave the three time to adjust to the masks. No one seemed to get upset or freak out, so Skye thought it was a win. This is only temporary until we can build up your body's immunity. I promise it will be okay, and we will be with you. The new connections may seem overwhelming since you haven't felt them before. Give it time, and you'll adjust to that too, just like you did with us in Underhill.

Okay. Are you sure this face covering is working? I don't feel anything? Revali asked.

Yes, I'm sure. Kleitos responded.

Skye gave Revali, Kibli, and then Jhaeros a quick hug and realized all three of them were eyeing Kleitos with interest. Garrett must have noticed the same as he caught Skye's eye.

This is going to be an interesting adventure, Garrett sent to Skye before he guided them off of the bridge to the other side, giving the last of the group room to exit Underhill.

Skye confirmed that he now had all the new wing-mates present. Garrett, Jayce, are you sure you're okay with sharing your magic? Skye asked.

Yes, They responded in unison, making Skye smile. He pulled his magic first and then reached across his mate-bond to connect with Garrett. The power flowed easily between them, and Skye wove it in with his own before he reached out to the gold. Jayce's power sang as it connected with Skye's and Garrett's, sending a shiver through Skye.

'That's new...' Mistral commented.

'Bit of a rush, but I'm taking it as a good sign.' Skye drew Jayce's power and wrapped it with his and Garrett's. The combination glowed brightly in Skye's other sight. He could still hear the song of Jayce's magic, but now Garrett's and Skye's joined. It was beautiful, but as he listened closely, almost hidden in the background, was a periodic discordant note. He concentrated, trying to separate it from the melody, but it seemed to disappear. Giving up and making sure the magic was stable, Skye opened his eyes.

He let the magic expand, following the bonds to those who had crossed with them, sending a feeling of peace and calm and wrapping them in the magic so they'd feel safe. He'd done it many times to individual brothers but he hadn't done it for quite so many at one time. He could feel their magics resonating with his, especially Mattekin's, whose power wanted to join.

'Also new. We may wish to speak with the master mage about this. Perhaps there is more here than we realize, and don't forget to bring in Bram and Noud,' Mistral said.

'And this is just with the new guys; what would happen if I expanded it to all the wing-mates?'

'Only one way to find out,' Mistral teased.

'I think I'm going to ignore you,' Skye responded as he focused on the two elves and wrapped them in magic as well.

Skye felt torn not greeting Jos, Leesai, Fiske, and Feired, who had joined while the others were crossing into Draga. In his peripheral vision, he could see those who'd been in Underhill greeting the guards.

"That's everyone," Mica called as the portal dimmed and went dark.

Skye realized with the size of the group, he'd have to yell if he wanted everyone to hear, and that seemed like a bad idea if they were trying not to draw attention. He opened the telepathic connection to his wing and made sure to pull in Bram and Noud.

Welcome to the Imperial Palace. I'm sorry this seems rushed, but we have a lot to do, and we don't want to stay too long in the garden. This isn't the best place for introductions so we'll take care of that later. What I will confirm for you-since most of you probably already sense them-is that the people meeting us are wing-mates. Kleitos, would you explain what's going to happen next?

Welcome. I'm a medic, or if you're not familiar with that term, a healer. I will be escorting the new wing-mates to the infirmary. Skye, have you already explained the symbiots and bio-comms?

I have. Bram and Noud are to be included as well.

Can you handle all of them at once? Or do we need to split up? Garrett asked.

Skye felt Kleitos's amusement.

Pater made sure that we had what was needed to handle everyone. Kleitos went on to explain that the new people would have to be scanned into the security system before entering the palace, and everyone would have to go through decontamination before entering the palace proper or the infirmary. He also introduced Braden as someone who would be assisting them.

Can I stay with Raphael? Bryan asked.

Kleitos looked at Skye in question.

Newly bonded. You'll probably want to check them out anyway. I've learned a few things we can talk about later, Skye shared.

Certainly, though you should know that once Raphael is in the pod, he may not be aware of you and won't be awake to respond, Kleitos explained.

What's a pod? Kibli asked.

We'll show you and answer any questions, Kleitos said. "If everyone will please follow..."

Skye and Garrett stepped in behind, and he was surprised when Leesai and Jos joined them.

"Were you gone so long you forgot?" Jos asked.

"Forgot what?" Skye glanced at Garrett to see if his mate knew.

"I think we're being reminded that we aren't to go anywhere without a guard," Garrett stage whispered.

Leesai snorted. "At least two."

Security, decontamination, tests, and getting everyone situated went off without any issue, but it still took long enough that Skye was exhausted when Jos opened the door to their suite.

"And you'll alert us if you get word that any of them are waking up?" Skye said yet again.

"Of course. But you heard Prince Kleitos; it will be several hours before the first group is ready. Try not to worry and get some sleep," Jos said as he stepped in and pushed the door closed.

"You think it will be okay? Kibli and Revali looked so scared, even with my magic."

"We'll be there when they wake. They'll be fine, and no one is going to get to them. I've never seen that many guards or security protocols in the palace. I don't think my parents are taking any chances."

"I know. But I need to take care of them. You saw Mattekin's face when they closed the pod. You'd have thought he was going to his execution." Skye sighed and stepped into Garrett's arms. "I want this part to be over."

"You need to sleep so you're at your best for them. Use the bath and get ready. Dillon already has the bed turned down."

"You go ahead; I at least want to look in on him." Skye went to Dillon's door and opened it as quietly as he could. There was just enough light to see the elf sleeping. Skye felt some of the tension drain away, and he carefully closed the door. The pull and queasiness returned, not strong but enough to make him pause.

'Garrett's right, Mistral. Maybe I'm just over tired. Too exhausted to even have sexy thoughts...'

  • Scene 2 *

Skye couldn't help himself. He stepped up behind Dillon as he searched through the rack of clothes, wrapping his arms around him and burying his face in the crook of his neck. He inhaled and gave a playful bite.

"When you said you were hungry, I thought you meant food," Dillon teased.

"That too. I've missed you."

"Mm-hm. And we all missed you. I thought maybe something simple like one of the belted shirts and trews. You're not doing any public meetings, right?" Dillon turned to look at him holding one of the soft shirts.

"Right. I'm sure those will come soon enough. Guess I should have asked if there was anything planned that I needed to know about." Skye took the shirt and slipped it on. It wasn't a style he'd ever seen on earth. It didn't have buttons or zippers but rather one side was much longer and tapered into a belt that could be tied around his waist.

"Are you going to insist on underwear?" Dillon's eyebrows showed his opinion.

"Definitely not!" Garrett yelled from the bedroom.

Skye rolled his eyes. He hadn't completely adjusted to the dragon view that underwear was unneeded and just got in the way. "I guess not."

Dillon smirked and handed him the soft pants that were the closest thing he'd found to sweats on Draga-but they were more form-fitting. Maybe more like thick leggings, he thought to himself.

"I've ordered lunch to be delivered. There is going to be a formal dinner tonight and a reception to welcome the new guys. But don't worry it's just family and the wing. Kwill was adamant that the wing give you space and wait until then to greet you." Dillon knelt and adjusted Skye's pants. "Braden told me they're holding off scheduling anything official until you've had a chance to get the new people settled."

"None of the new wing-mates will have clothes here. Even the other guys' stuff is probably still at the barracks or, in Mica's case, his apartment."

"Nope. The emperor had everything moved here, well, not the stuff in Mica's place, but everyone else's. Kleitos got me measurements for the new guys when they did the scans, and I already put in an order to the royal tailor. Pater gave them warning so they'd have everything they needed. He commissioned full wardrobes, but they'll at least have a few basics by the time they're out of the pods."

"I'm impressed." Skye slipped on one of his favorite pairs of soft boots. The few hours of sleep seemed to have helped, and so far, the weird pull and dizziness hadn't returned.

"Thank Braden. He's been working his ass off and helped Prince Argos coordinate everything."

"Not Celeste?"

Dillon grunted. "You'll have to ask Braden. He's rather touchy on that subject, but I can tell you that he's been with Prince Argos every day, sometimes all hours."

"So that hasn't changed? Anything else I should know about?" Skye felt a spike of emotion from Dillon - mainly apprehension and fear. "Did something happen?"

"Yes...and I guess no or not yet. Pater has been talking with Regent Thillean about having me reinstated in the royal court, and he keeps reminding the staff that I am to be considered family. Everyone treats me differently, and I can no longer do my job. They won't even let me in the kitchen! And what if they make me a prince again, and I can't stay?" Dillon was close to tears.

Skye pulled Dillon back into his arms. "Hey, it's okay. We'll figure something out no matter what happens. I'd rather have you be family than have you wait on me, and I think you're capable of a lot more than being my valet. Don't get any stupid ideas; you're not going anywhere. Elf prince or not. It hasn't stopped Gilian, and she's still considered a princess."

"What he said." Garrett stood in the doorway with a scowl. "You. Ours. Only thing that gets you out of being with us is finding your true mate."

"But how..."

"Don't worry about it for now. We'll figure something out. Besides, I can't imagine Pater letting them do anything that would take you away. Once he decides you are his, it's permanent."

"Skye is right, Dillon. Pater has claimed the wing and especially you, Ril, and Chris," Garrett said.

"And Willow, even if he drives Pater to distraction," Skye added with a laugh and another hug.

"If you're sure." Dillon didn't sound convinced, but Skye agreed with Garrett, Dillon was theirs, and he couldn't imagine not having him around. The time without him in Underhill was bad enough.

"We should have asked, were you able to figure out rooms for everyone?" Garrett asked.

"Most of the wing-mates who were with you we put in the guest wing. Braden and I figured they'd be fine sharing so it's two to a room and Gilian could move into Leesai's room in the servant wing with the other guards. The emperor insisted everyone had to be in the palace and the renovations aren't finished on the south wing."

"The south wing?" Skye asked.

"They're remodeling a section of the palace that has been somewhat out of use for years. It's one of the older castle-like structures, so it is taking longer than expected. Pater said it will have enough rooms for the wing as well as common areas."

Skye looked at Garrett, who shrugged.

"The palace is huge and has been built onto many times over the centuries. It's one of the largest structures in Capital City after the Assembly Hall. I know there are sections I've never seen. Do you know if it was a single floor, Dillon? Pretty sure we're already using part of the south wing."

"Sorry, I don't know. The only other thing I heard Pater say was that they were also making a residence for your grandparents so they could have more privacy."

"Huh. Does Pater know Charlie and Nancy have bonded with-"

"Food's here," Jos called out.

Dillon turned and rolled his eyes at Skye. "Please, I'm pretty sure he's the first to know everything that happens in this place."

"That's true." Garrett laughed. "We used to tease him that he had cameras hidden everywhere so he could catch us when we did something. Because he always seemed to know no matter how well we thought we were hiding."

"Dillon, before I forget. Venci told you that we should put Revali and Kibli in the same room, right? Both of them are..."

"Best way to say it is they had it bad, somewhat like Christos. They'll need extra love," Garrett said, squeezing Skye's shoulder. They'll be okay, Skye. You know Pater's going to fall in love with them as soon as he meets them.

'He has a weakness for broken boys,' Mistral whispered.

Skye grinned as he followed Garrett and Dillon out to the main suite. "You're eating with us, right, Dillon?"

"Of course he is. Dillon wouldn't upset you like that." Garrett smirked as he eyed the elf.

"I ordered for Leesai and Jos as well. I thought they could take turns." Dillon shuffled things around on the table so there was room before he brought the third covered plate and then grabbed another chair. He took another covered dish over to Jos.

"Could you see if we can get a bigger table or at least a couple more chairs?" Garrett asked when Dillon sat with them.

Dillon sighed. "Yes."

Thank you, Garrett. You're way ahead of me. I think my brain is still a bit slow. I wonder if going back and forth to Underhill can give you jet lag.

'We should eat and not worry about jets. Mattekin and Raphael will be waking soon,' Mistral scolded.

'True. Bram and Noud, too. Though I think Bryan will be there for Raphael.' He knew Mistral understood what he'd said even if the difficult dragon pretended otherwise.

"It may take me a few days to readjust. When you were gone, there were no guards. Though I've decided I like having them around," Dillon said.

"I like it better when they're 'our' guards." Skye took a bite and had to pause when it tasted off.

'It's because we grew accustomed to the fae's food. I think they use different seasoning,' Mistral said.

'Maybe we can ask. I thought the food there was good. Maybe since dragons are fae?'

"It could be though I never would have thought of it. Dillon, is the food here different than what you were used to?" Garrett asked.

Dillon looked at Garrett in confusion, then turned to Skye. "Was there part of a conversation that I missed?"

Garrett laughed. "Sorry. I don't even have to intentionally mind-speak with Skye. All that time in Underhill and I can hear both Skye and his dragon's thoughts unless they block me."

"Is that...normal?" Dillon looked concerned.

"Normal? No idea. I don't know how much time you've spent in Underhill, but we found that all of our magic-based abilities were much stronger there, including our bonds," Skye said. "Maybe some of that has carried over? Or maybe it will fade over time?"

"I've been to Underhill, but it wasn't often, and I'd have said it was more draining, and my magic didn't work as well," Dillon said.

"That would have been when the curse was in place, and the magic was fading." Garrett looked at Skye.

"Could be. Most of our time was after when things were improving. Maybe it will feel better when you go back, Dillon."

"I don't need to go back, and I'd rather not visit the elf lands again either." Dillon concentrated on his food as if he could ignore his tablemates.

Maybe save this argument for another time? Garrett suggested.

Sure, that's probably best. Skye reached over and put a hand on Dillon's arm. "You never answered about the food."

"Oh." Dillon paused. "I agree the spices are different, and often the meals here are richer and heavier. They can be just as good, just different."

"I'm sure we could figure out a way to get some of our favorites. Maybe Keeper would help?" Skye said as he thought out loud.

"Can I say that it creeps me out that you've not only met the keeper but that you talk to him like he's a friend?" Dillon shuddered.

"Sorry, but I'm getting close to the point of thinking of him as a friend. I don't always like his methods, but he's been good to us and helpful-in his own way."

Garrett snorted. "It's the 'in his own way' part that makes me nervous. Don't forget to show Dillon the tea he sent. Maybe he can get you the supplies you need to brew it here."

"That's-"

Skye's bio-comm buzzed, and he looked down and saw that it was a call from Kleitos. He accepted and a holo formed over the table.

"Hey, Kleitos. Is everything okay?"

"It is, Garrett, Dillon, sorry to interrupt. I wanted to let you know that the wake cycle started for those getting the symbiots and bio-comm units. You don't have to rush, but they'll wake soon."

"Give us a couple of minutes to finish, and we'll be on our way," Skye said.

"See you soon." Kleitos ended the call.

"I'll make sure their rooms are ready. The two elves are in a larger suite next to where we put Mattekin in the guest wing. Bryan and Raphael's room is across the hall. It was okay to put them together?"

"Definitely. I don't think they'd deal well with being separated. They may not have had a ceremony, but there's no question the bond has started. That was something I learned while in Underhill. Master Mage Quanta taught me how to use my magic sight to see bonds."

"That's cool. So once people find their mate and it starts, you can see it?" Dillon asked as he started clearing the table.

"Yes, but I can see untethered bonds and even those that are blocked. That's what you had until my magic changed it."

"You mean someone did something to prevent elves from bonding?" Dillon's voice rose in disbelief.

"We don't know that," Garrett said.

"He's right, but now I can see if the potential is there." Skye stood and straightened his shirt.

"But you figured out that you don't have to have sex with them to make the change like you did with those shifters that Pater took you to." There was a note of jealousy in Dillon's voice.

"Yeah, it's scary how easy it is now that I know what I'm doing."

"It's a good thing." Garrett draped his arm over Skye's shoulder. "And now we don't have to worry that Dillon will stand out. There will be so many elves out there looking for their mates no one will pay any attention."

Dillon sighed and his shoulders drooped. "That's a relief for both me and Rilien. Maybe we won't have to constantly worry that someone's going to try and kidnap us."

"I wouldn't go that far," Jos said as they reached the door. "You two are still the prettiest. Best you keep guards with you, just in case." He winked at Dillon as he opened the door.

Dillon bumped shoulders with the dragon as he passed, but at least he was smiling.

"Should I order food for them while I'm checking the rooms? I doubt they'd feel comfortable going to the dining room, and it is just as easy to send it to their suites."

"That would be perfect, Dillon. Thank you," Skye said.

"So Bryan finally got his elf, huh?" Jos asked as he stepped in with Leesai to escort them.

"He did. The same elf who was in my vision," Skye said.

Jos let out a deep laugh. "So, was the vision accurate?"

"Close. Except for the falling through the ground part, which was fine by me," Skye answered. "And before you say it. Yes, that freaks me out too. Even if the visions Underhill sent weren't exact, I still don't know how it...he knew."

It didn't take long to get to the infirmary, and after they passed security and the guards verified their identities, they reached Kleitos.

"Great timing," Kleitos said, looking up from his displays. "They're just starting to wake."

"How about the others?" Garrett asked.

Kleitos pulled up another holo. "Hm. Still a couple of hours, but everything is looking good. We didn't find anything unusual on any of the scans for your group. The symbiots and bio-comms were implanted with no issues. Now we're just ensuring that the immunity is building up in those who haven't been to Draga before."

"Will there be any side effects or illness?" Skye remembered the last time he got a flu shot and how crappy he felt.

"There shouldn't be. Oddly enough, they all showed a base level of exposure and immunity. Not sure how it's possible, but..." Kleitos shrugged.

"When you did a scan of Raphael-"

Kleitos held up his hand palm out, then tapped his temple as he glanced at the Imperial Guards standing by the door.

Is it bad? Skye asked.

Not at all, but you have to assume there is always someone listening. I didn't figure you'd want anyone to know.

Know what? Garrett interrupted.

That Raphael is already showing signs of the bond-mate biological changes. If you'd have asked me before, I would have said it was impossible. That there hadn't been time. And yet. Kleitos frowned but didn't send more.

Probably Underhill dicking things up again. Garrett's mental tone conveyed his frustration.

What he means to say, Skye began with a glare at his mate. is that we noticed magic was much stronger in Underhill by the time we left, and many of our abilities were enhanced. Even I noticed how quickly Bryan and Raphael's bond built.

Now you're making me think I may need to do some research or tests in Underhill.

Garrett reached over and gripped Kleitos's shoulder. Brother, please hold off on that for a while.

Kleitos nodded, and Skye was pleased that Garrett was watching out for his brother. He agreed that they weren't quite ready to trust Underhill completely, and he'd hate to take a chance with Kleitos.

They moved over to Raphael's pod, where Bryan intently stared through the small window.

"His eyes are moving," Bryan turned to say before resuming his focus on his mate.

"He should wake up anytime. When he opens his eyes, let me know, and we can open the pod." Kleitos moved over to the pod next in the row beside Raphael. "Mattekin should be next to wake up. We tried to stagger them so they all didn't regain consciousness at the same time."

"What do we need to do?" Skye asked.

"Wait?" Kleitos shrugged. "Once we open the pod, it would be good for them to see a familiar face. Not much more you can do. It will take a couple of minutes for them to be fully aware and able to focus."

"Prince Kleitos!" Bryan shouted.

"Excuse me," Kleitos snickered before returning to Raphael's pod.

Skye looked down at Mattekin, or rather the pod that he was in. The window was small enough; you couldn't even see the druid's whole face. But it was enough to see that his eyelids were fluttering. Skye heard the whoosh and beeps as Kleitos opened Raphael's med pod.

"Hey, beautiful. I'm here. Take your time; there's no rush to wake up or move," Bryan said softly.

"This one waking up?" Kleitos asked as he checked the displays and pressed a few buttons.

"I think so," Skye said.

Kleitos finished and stepped back as the pod beeped and then whooshed as the pressurized air released. "I'll keep an eye on the other two and call you over once they're awake."

Garrett moved beside him as Skye reached out and cupped Mattekin's face. We're here. Take your time waking up. I know it can be disorienting.

I'm alive? Mattekin sounded unsure.

Very much so. You can speak, but your throat may be dry or scratchy. Would you like some water? Garrett asked.

"Ugh...that wasn't fun," Mattekin rasped as Garrett held the straw to his lips. He took a few sips, then lay back.

"Did something hurt?" Garrett asked.

"No, but I think I may be claustrophobic," Mattekin admitted.

"You should have told us; we could have given you something to help." Kleitos held a device over Mattekin's head and then slowly ran it down over his body. "Everything looks good. Can you understand me?"

"Yeah..." Mattekin scrunched his brow.

Kleitos laid a reassuring hand on Mattekin's arm. "That's good. I spoke dragi to see if your translator was working."

"No, you spoke elvish." Mattekin glared even more.

Skye and Garrett laughed. "That means it's working. Eventually, you'll be able to tell when someone is speaking another language, and given enough time, your brain will learn those dialects as well. I'm still not great at dragi, but I'm learning."

"Are there times when the symbiot doesn't work?" Mattekin asked.

"There can be, but it's rare. What's more common is that once you've learned a language, the symbiot doesn't bother translating," Kleitos explained.

"Don't worry, you get used to it and don't even think about it," Skye said. "I've had one less than a year, and most of the time, I forget it's there."

"Whenever you feel comfortable sitting up or standing, you're welcome to do so. Don't push if you start to feel dizzy. There's no rush on explaining the bio-comm; we'll do that later when you've had time to eat and get acclimated." Kleitos nodded to the other pods letting Skye know he was moving on.

"It's different than going to a healer," Mattekin huffed. "A little more disorienting, but overall I have to say I feel pretty good. No pain or soreness from whatever they did." He turned his arm, looking at it and frowning. "You're sure they put something in there?"

"They did. We can go over the basics when you're eating. Sound good?" Skye asked.

"Sure." Mattekin took the folded clothing Garrett offered. He looked around, perhaps wanting a place that provided privacy.

"There's a restroom at the end of the row on the left. The door will open automatically when you're in front of it." Skye pointed.

"But I'm naked," Mattekin whispered.

Garrett snickered but pulled the blanket that had been draped over the druid when he was in the pod and handed it to him. "You can wrap it around your waist if it will make you more comfortable."

Mattekin let out a relieved sigh. "Thanks."

By the time Mattekin returned, Bram and Noud were both awake and dressed. They had no issues changing in front of Skye. Actually, Skye was a little embarrassed that Noud seemed to put on a little show for them with very pointed "looks" at Skye and Kleitos.

'The magic should have recognized him. He would be a good fit for our wing,' Mistral observed.

'Oh, please. You can't fool me; you just want to have sex with him again,' Skye scolded.

'Like you don't?' Mistral huffed, and Skye got a mental image of his dragon stomping off.

Skye turned toward the door when he heard voices. Dillon had joined and greeted Kleitos before coming their way.

"Prince Dillon," Bram and Noud said in unison with a bow.

"You don't have to do that; I was banished if you forgot." Dillon frowned.

"Lady Telawynn would have us skinned," Bram said. "You remain her favorite great-grandson, and she has made it clear that she did not approve of those actions."

"Whatever." Dillon sighed. "I came to escort you to your rooms so you can get settled. I hope you don't mind, but I had the food delivered to Bram and Noud's suite. It is the largest."

"We have rooms...here?" Bryan squeaked.

"I'm thinking that Bryan was so preoccupied with his new mate that he hasn't been listening. Father insisted that all of the wing take residence at the palace-"

"Well, except for you know who," Skye interjected, then wondered if the command applied to Taleel and Jerrick. Then it struck him that it could include Ian and Corey as well.

"There were a few exceptions but not for the guards," Dillon explained. "These rooms are somewhat temporary until the others are ready. Don't worry, you won't be suffering."

Skye bit back a laugh. If they were assigned to the guest wing, they'd probably be more opulent than any of them had ever experienced.

"I thought that this would let you stay here for when the others wake," Dillon said, turning to Skye.

"Thank you. Would you or one of the others be able to explain the basics of the bio-comm and at least give them enough of a tour they can find their way around?"

"I'll be glad to. Venci has been pulled into meetings with Emperor Darius, and Braden is with Prince Argos."

'Should we be worried?'

'Probably not. If it were bad, we'd have already felt it, or Kwill would have told us. Venci has been the primary contact working with the emperor's committee, the re-homing and their return has yet to be resolved,' Mistral responded.

'True. They'll probably keep him involved until all the dark fae are settled.'

'And we already knew from our last visit that Pater had taken an unusual interest in our Braden.'

Which is scary on so many levels, Garrett interjected.

  • Scene 3 *

Skye bit his lip as he watched Jhaeros's continued reaction to Arcturus. The night elf's thoughts would have done Willow proud, but it was the bear shifter's reaction that amused him more. He understood why Arcturus wanted to keep Christos and Rilien at a distance, but it didn't appear that Jhaeros was likely to accept that solution. Since Arcturus was going to be spending a good deal of time with their new brothers, the bear shifter had joined them when the pods were opened. He thought it was good for them to become accustomed to his presence.

"Can I ask, are you proportional?" Jhaeros gave an evil grin as his eyes stripped the bear.

"Skyyyyye, make him stop," Arcturus whined. It wasn't the first comment that indicated the night elf's fascination with their bear.

Arcturus, I don't think it's going to work with this one. You share a wing-mate connection, so he can tell you're attracted to him. Remember, he grew up on Hell World, and from what I know, I don't think he's been taught anything about filters, etiquette, or propriety. I don't think he'll listen to your guidance until you give him what he wants.

You're not going to corrupt him, Arcturus. From what we've seen, we've got the opposite problem. Somewhat like Willow, the goal is to contain the damage, Garrett explained.

Arcturus let out a huge sigh, and his shoulders slumped.

"Jhaeros, you could ask Dillon. I'm sure he'd know," Revali offered up innocently.

Dillon coughed as his face turned red. "He is." His voice was barely above a whisper, but from Jhaeros's grin, the night elf heard just fine.

"Are you sure this is the right room?" Kibli said, looking around the suite with wide eyes. So far, he had moved to the middle of the room and refused to touch anything.

"Yes, this is your suite to share with Revali. Skye said you'd be more comfortable sharing, but if that bothers you, I'm sure we could find-" Dillon said until Kibli interrupted.

"NO! I mean, thank you, but I'd rather stay with Revali."

"I agree. This place is...a lot." Revali looked up at the intricately carved ceiling.

"Better than the caves, though. Right?" Garrett asked.

"I've never seen anything like this," Revali said in awe.

"You know, I don't need a room of my own. I could share with Arcturus." Jhaeros moved into Arcturus's personal space, and his eyes roved up the big man until their eyes met.

"That wouldn't be appropriate, Jhaeros. I'm here to mentor and guide, and I think you'll be very happy with your room." Arcturus's voice sounded more strained than usual.

"It's fine with me if you want to take the lead." Jhaeros gave the bear a lecherous grin.

A knock sounded at the door, and Skye was sure he wasn't the only one relieved that their food had arrived. They still had several hours until dinner, so Dillon had the kitchen send up food for the three of them to Kibli and Revali's suite.

"Most of the time, we try to eat together, but we'll ease into that, and one of us will be here to guide you until you're familiar with the palace," Skye explained.

"Thank you again for the clothes," Kibli said, running his hand up the sleeve of the soft shirt. "I've never had anything this nice."

Dillon had made sure each of them had a comfortable ensemble like his own. Kibli's was in a deep russet that highlighted his coloring.

"You heard Dillon say that they've already made arrangements for more. Your clothing from Underhill has been sent for cleaning, but you probably won't wear it much. Dillon or one of the others will let you know what's appropriate," Skye continued.

"And apologies in advance, but for dinner this evening, we'll be more formal and not nearly as comfortable," Garrett said.

"Like in my mother's dream?" Kibli asked.

"Likely, though we didn't see what she dreamt. I'd hoped to gradually introduce you to the others, but I guess we're doing it all at once." Skye looked over at Dillon for confirmation.

"They didn't tell me why," Dillon said as he helped set up the table with their food.

"Will someone let us know what we're supposed to wear?" Jhaeros asked. "And you'll be there with us?"

"We will," Skye answered. He tried to be unobtrusive as he gripped the back of one of the chairs when another wave of vertigo hit him. He thought it had gone away.

"I'll help Kibli and Revali, and I expect Venci will assist you since you're sharing a room. Your clothes for this evening were delivered there," Dillon said.

"Do you mind sharing a room with Venci?" Skye asked, stifling a gulp as lunch seemed to want to return.

"Not at all. I spent most of my nights in his bed at the hold." Jhaeros said it without a hint of embarrassment or hesitation.

Dillon's mouth dropped open; then he looked at Skye.

It's okay, Dillon. You'll see soon enough that Jhaeros has a dragon's heart, or maybe a nymph's? He's got a lot in common with Willow, now that I think about it.

Skye's bio-comm alerted him to a message.

|| Prince Argos: My office if you please. Don't bring Garrett. ||

Skye's stomach did another flip, and he looked at his mate. Any idea what this might be about? Skye showed Garrett the message.

Sorry. I'll hang out here until it's time to get changed. Maybe Dillon and I can answer questions and explain how their bio-comms work.

"If you will all excuse me, I've been summoned. Garrett will stay, and I'll see you at dinner if not before." Skye wondered if he should take one of the guards, but when he stepped into the hall, he found Chaz and Kuai in their uniforms, waiting for him.

"Prince Skye," Chaz winked.

"Are you guys already back on duty?" Skye took Chaz's arm, linking elbows. He hoped the were-dagger could keep him upright and just assume Skye was touch-starved, not that he wasn't sure he was steady enough to walk.

"We are. The request went to Mica, but he's at his flat packing up some things so he can stay here. We volunteered when he asked," Kuai explained, giving Skye a curious look. Fortunately he didn't ask and Chaz seemed more than happy to be close.

"Are you sure you're up to it?" Leesai asked Chaz and Kuai with a bit of a growl. Skye could practically feel her protectiveness coming through the bond.

"We are. We got a bit of rest, and we're good," Chaz said.

"You know where we're going?" Skye asked.

"We do. I'm somewhat surprised he waited this long," Chaz whispered.

They'd almost reached Prince Argos's private office when Skye saw River and two more of their wing-mates in uniform, Corbin and Jayce. Skye was feeling a little better and released Chaz as they drew up to River.

"You got the summons too?" River whispered as they walked the last stretch of hall together.

"Yeah. No idea why, and he very specifically said not to bring Garrett."

"Same." River paused as Corbin spoke with the Imperial Guard at the door and waited for them to be announced and allowed entry.

"You think we're in trouble?" River whispered out of the side of his mouth.

"Um... I don't think so?" Skye didn't mean it as a question, but he wasn't really sure.

"We'll be waiting for you when you're finished." Corbin gave a brief bow and stepped back.

Skye and River walked into Pater's office and paused to see where the prince was and more importantly, where he wanted them.

"Thank Zeus! I was so worried about you." Prince Argos came over and hugged River and then Skye. "Come in. Sit down. Braden and Kwill had to step out but will be back in a moment."

'Okay, so I guess not in trouble,' Skye thought.

'I wouldn't guarantee it. He's sneaky. May just want us to drop our guard,' Mistral sent back.

Skye bit his lip to keep himself from smiling at Mistral's remark.

"I'm sorry for all the new health protocols and keeping your wing-mates from you." Prince Argos sat on one of the bench-like couches and indicated they were to sit opposite him.

"We can understand HealthCorps' concerns, but why keep the others away?"

"Appearances and we're trying not to overwhelm your new men. If you hadn't guessed, we aren't trying to keep your presence a secret. As you know from your last visit, the elves have spells that let them know when a gate has opened-even if they don't know where. The last visit, we were able to convince them to keep it in confidence. But with the gate now remaining open, more of the fae will become aware, and that doesn't work. We had as many of the wing carry on with their normal day as much as possible to keep down the rumors and whispers."

"That was my suggestion," Kwill said as he entered the room and wiggled in between Skye and River. "I know how overwhelming it was on your last visit, and we needed you both in top form. From what I've picked up from our new brothers, it would have been too much. Beck is with them now, helping them adjust. They're already in a better frame of mind to deal with the emotions and feedback they'll get when we're all in the same room. A more formal setting also helps to keep the emotions in check," Kwill said.

"But we'll get to see everyone tonight?" Skye clarified.

"Almost. Lord Eluf and Ian will not be there, but I think all the others. Those two are a little harder to explain to the servants. And while we shouldn't have to, we're trying to minimize the questions. You should also prepare your people for meeting Master Chen and their new tutors. We've hired several of the best professors to assist in their transition."

"Okay..." River said as he glanced at Skye.

Skye turned when he heard the door and saw Braden enter. Braden took a seat beside Prince Argos.

"Perfect timing. I was just about to update them," Prince Argos said. "Braden, were you able to confirm?"

"Yes, Prince Argos. It's working as you predicted, and we're up to almost eighty percent," Braden said.

"What's at eighty percent?" River asked.

"That's the percentage of the populace that believes the ability to bond is based on a medical breakthrough which may or may not include what was thought to be lost alien technology," Braden explained.

"Skye, your attempts at converting those shifters and elves were a complete success, and you'll be glad to know that all of them have been successfully matched with their dragons. We published an official communication saying you did it with magic," Prince Argos said.

"You WHAT?" Skye felt his panic building.

"And as we discussed on your last visit, we also unofficially leaked that it was a secret medical experiment and that the announcement about you was a public relations ploy to build your popularity. Of course more people believed the lie, as we expected. This way, if it ever comes out that you were the source, it matches with official communications. Obviously we can't control what rumors people believe."

Skye, it's okay. Listen to what they're saying. Most don't believe that you can do it. River put his hand on Skye's arm, and Skye could feel River using his magic to calm him.

'Wait. When did he learn how to do that?'

Quanta taught me. He said it would be useful.

Skye took a deep breath and tried to calm his thoughts. "This is what Venci couldn't tell us?"

"We didn't want to worry you, dear. We had to keep it from him so that you wouldn't pick it up from his thoughts. That was another reason for not trying to keep your presence a secret. If it were to leak out that you could mysteriously appear and disappear, it further solidifies the mystery. We'll still want you to return and exit Underhill through the fae lands, but you don't have to hide in the interim."

"Pater, I am so confused," Skye said, shaking his head.

"The simple answer is that we are manipulating the public's understanding of the truth and throwing up enough contradictions and false trails that they'll be suspicious no matter what is said. But since they expect us to manipulate the truth, they'll doubt the official story more than any other possibility," Kwill added.

"Won't that hurt Skye's image?" River asked.

"Our research says no, especially if he does some public appearances and fuels some new fantasies. We're still working on what would be the most effective." Braden sounded all too clinical for Skye's taste if he was talking about another club appearance.

"So, what do we have to do?" Skye asked. If history was any example, his idea of acceptable exposure and Pater's idea was very different.

"For now, make sure your new wing-mates are settled and have them start working with Arcturus. The tutors will help them with cultural expectations, history, and any academic needs to enable them to fully function in today's universe. We won't hide their existence, but we're not going to announce it either.

"In a few days, you'll return to Underhill and exit into the elf kingdom, bringing King Arnakkhor, Lady Telawynn, and any other leaders of the dark fae who are willing. We'll prepare speeches and publicize their introduction. At which point you'll step aside and let King Arnakkhor and Admiral Cocachet's team handle the reintroduction and rehoming of the dark fae. Their return will create enough of a media frenzy that no one will pay attention to a few new people in the royal palace. You should know that we'll be utilizing Venci to continue carrying messages back and forth and preparing the fae," Prince Argos explained.

"You make it sound simple." Skye hoped Venci would be okay with the continued assignment. He was very aware that it was difficult and draining work.

"Oh, no dear, it's not, but we have a lot of people working on it to make sure it goes well. Do you think if you asked nicely, Underhill would move the portal out of the elf palace and put it somewhere more visible? Like maybe back in the ruins?" Prince Argos asked.

"Maybe, probably. Why?" Skye asked, remembering the moon festival with less than positive emotions.

"It makes a much better broadcast if we can show the arrival through the portal. Stepping through a door in the palace doesn't have a lot of flair."

"Flair?" River asked, scowling more than was probably healthy.

"Was there a reason you didn't want Garrett and Nik to hear this?" Skye asked.

"My recommendation again. Garrett will be quite distressed when he learns how you were put in the spotlight. We never would have gotten through the little discussion we've had."

"And Nik," River asked.

"Can't very well include one brother and mate and not the other. He'll be fine when you explain it to him," Kwill said.

"We've worked out the schedule and everything that has to happen. You can relax a bit, and we'll let you know what you need to do and when. There are a few miscellaneous things that have come up that I'll need your help with but for the next few days, enjoy a break and reconnect with your wing." Prince Argos watched Skye as if waiting for him to freak out.

"Was everything resolved with the people who tried to get to Greggory?" Skye asked.

Prince Argos frowned and sighed. "We're getting there. The investigators are still following some leads based on Kwill and Beck's interrogation of their leaders. You were already aware that the Swiftpaw pack was disbanded. That's the one whose alpha ordered the attack on Lord Eluf's people, and they were involved with the attempt on Greggory. Also the wolf-shifters you changed were from that pack. Two additional packs have been disbanded, and several of their leaders charged, including Greggory's father."

"Wow. Won't the were-council have to answer?" River asked.

"You already knew about Vetha and the censuring, but since then, the Assembly revoked the shifters' autonomy. Not just the wolves-all of them. They can keep a pack structure but only for social purposes. Our team is culling through the disbanded packs' members to see if any would be suitable as dragon mates," Prince Argos said.

"So like what happened with the fae?" Skye clarified.

"Almost exactly, but it wasn't as showy," Prince Argos said.

"Won't that cause other repercussions and hard feelings?" River asked.

"The other packs were angry, but their leaders were given a chance to argue their case, and since many on the were-council were complicit..." Prince Argos let the thought hang.

"I bet they're more than a little pissed at the alphas of those packs," Skye said.

"Yes, and the leaders they elected. I'm sure there will still be some fallout, but Father can't be blamed because the Assembly was unanimous and didn't even call for his opinion. They also have a new dilemma. We're hearing rumors that other shifters may be interested in bonding with dragons." Prince Argos gave one of his signature smiles.

"What are we going to do with THEM?" Skye couldn't keep the panic out of his voice this time.

Prince Argos shrugged. "We haven't worked that out yet. I assure you that we'll include you in those discussions as much as we can. Our plan must be given careful thought."

"Do we still need to worry about Greggory?" Skye asked.

"Yes, if only because he was a catalyst. Until you leave Draga, we will insist that he restrain his time outside the palace and always have guards with him. Father has made it quite clear that he is under our protection and would consider any actions against Greggory to be against the emperor. I'd say that should resolve it, but those mutts have already shown intelligence is not their strong point." Pater's disdain was clear.

"Prince Argos, I think that is probably enough for today," Kwill said.

Prince Argos looked intently at Skye. "Hm, yes, I agree. We will be meeting regularly with so much going on. Enjoy your time as much as you can. Tonight should be quite the event."

Skye let River lead him from the room. He felt overwhelmed, and even Mistral was silent. When he felt Jayce and Chaz wrap their arms around him, he knew it must be bad. He'd tried to lock down his emotions, and when he was in the room, he was very aware that Kwill was shielding, but now...

"We've got you." The guards all fell into step around River and Skye as they led them back to Skye's suite.

  • Scene 4 *

Skye was feeling better and was glad for the distraction of helping get Kibli and Revali ready. The nausea and dizziness hadn't returned. Garrett hadn't recovered as quickly from Skye's update and was still back in their room with Kwill. He was surprised at how upset Garrett was when he learned that his parents told the world that Skye could enable others to mate. He'd likened it to making Skye the target of every "crazy" out there.

"Why is it so snug?" Revali asked as he tugged on the sleeves of the dark ivory long coat. It was an almost knee-length jacket with subtle tone-on- tone embroidery that hugged his slender form. The pants were in the same color and equally tight right down to the matching boots. The ivory set off his rich golden skin. His dark brown hair had been brushed to a glossy sheen and was worn loose down to his shoulders. Skye noticed that it hid the siren's slightly pointed ears.

"For style. Fashions are changing constantly but don't fight it. You look amazing. I love the color of your skin," Dillon said.

"Really? The other sirens always criticized me for being too dark, and they hated my ears, but overall they just hated me for existing."

"Well, they're not worth considering," Skye interjected. "Dillon's right, you look great. Now we've just got to get you to eat a bit more."

"He's not as skeletal as Christos was, close, but not quite." Dillon laughed as he moved over to Kibli.

"Who is Christos?" Kibli asked.

"Another wing-mate and Garrett's adopted brother. He's a panther shifter," Skye said. "Similar to both of you, he had a very difficult life before coming to us."

"Is something rubbing?" Dillon asked as he tugged on Kibli's jacket to get it in place. The rich tapestry-like coat was in fall shades of orange, gold, and brown and was just down to his thighs. It was worn open so you could see the shimmery golden vest that showed off his fit form.

"No, I'm just not used to it."

"You look equally stunning, Kibli. I'm not sure how they were able to pick such complementary shades and styles."

Dillon let out a cough as he blushed. "I chose them. Kleitos sent me images of them when he was doing the scan."

Skye opened a private link to his elf. Did you also get to see that they are both nicely endowed?

Skye! Quit teasing me. We need to focus, and I do not want to stand in front of Pater with an erection.

"Do you always dress like this just to eat?" Revali asked.

"No. Only for formal dinners or when there are outside guests. This is a special occasion since you're meeting the Emperor and Prince Argos, the wing-mates, and your tutors."

"Are any of them like Gramthor?" Kibli asked.

"No, none of them." Skye was glad he was able to say so and noticed Dillon giving him a questioning look. 'I guess we're going to be seeing a lot of that for a while.'

'True, Dillon will have no idea who Gramthor is or more importantly, that dwarves are evil,' Mistral growled.

'They aren't all evil. I think we can attribute Kibli's treatment to love scorned.'

Skye felt rather than heard his dragon huff and storm off.

"I'll-"

Skye, are you still with Revali? We were going to walk over and take the new guys to the reception as a group. We've got Mattekin and Raphael too, River sent.

Yeah. We'll wait for you.

"Don't worry, you get used to it. Won't be long before you can tell that he's mind-speaking with someone. We just wait until he's done." Skye heard Dillon saying as he rejoined the group.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Skye complained.

"Well, it's better than them thinking you're having a seizure," Dillon said.

Skye tried to think of a retort, but seeing Kibli and Revali smiling made him think it might be pointless.

"Fine. River said they're coming here so we can go together."

"Is Jhaeros's room far?" Kibli asked.

"Not at all. I'll show you whenever you want," Dillon said.

"Is Chaz's room also near?" Revali added.

"It is. I'll show you where all the other wing-members' rooms are. A few don't live here in the palace, but most do." Dillon looked at Skye as if he might disagree.

The door opened, and River stuck his head in. "Ready?"

"We are," Dillon answered.

Kwill, Garrett, we're going to the reception now. Can you join us? Skye sent.

We'll be with you in a few minutes. He's almost ready, Kwill responded.

From the vision Kabli had described, Skye already knew where they were going even though Dillon led the way. The "Grande Hall," as it was called, was one of several ballrooms and the closest to the formal dining hall. It was also the one where the upper walls were lined with mirrors that made it look like the crystal chandeliers extended off into infinity.

The doors were closed when they arrived, with Imperial Guards standing sentry. Skye noted that the infirmary wasn't the only place where security had been tightened. The guards opened the doors and allowed them to pass without comment. Many of Skye's guards had come from the emperor's guard, and while they now wore his and Garrett's colors, the connections and camaraderie were still there. He figured it was one of those times where having them all know each other worked in their favor.

"Wow," several of Skye's wing-mates echoed. He could agree that the room was pretty spectacular with all the gold and sparkle.

Skye had to pause for a moment once they were inside. He was vibrating from the hum of so many bonds being close. Not just that, but the emotions and thoughts hit him like a wave.

"You okay?" River whispered.

Skye felt Beck's mind brush against his. Are you shielding?

Yes, but it's still getting through. Skye hated admitting it. Within seconds the emotions calmed. He could still feel them, but it was more pleasant. He turned to the psion.

"Thank you, Beck." The blue imp grinned at him and winked. Skye often thought that Beck could have been stolen off the pages of a manga. Petite, well-muscled, blue skin, and white, spiked hair along with huge eyes. Skye was glad that Beck looked so much better than he had on their last visit.

A glance around told him that most had already arrived, but protocol demanded he wait for introductions until Emperor Darius and Prince Argos joined. Those that had been with him in Underhill gathered around them, giving support to their new brothers as they waited.

Fortunately, Garrett and Kwill arrived moments before Darius and Argos entered the room with six more guards. There were so many it looked like a wall of ivory. Everyone moved to the sides as well, leaving the royal pair in the front center of the hall near the windows.

"Welcome all. It is wonderful to have so many dear ones present this evening. But I understand we have new family members to welcome." Darius paused for dramatic effect, his eyes landing on Skye. "Nancy and Charlie, please join us." Skye's grandparents moved to stand by the emperor and Prince Argos. "Prince Skye, if you would be so kind as to come forward and introduce your new wing-brothers and guests. We will dispense with formal greetings since we are among family."

Skye was pleased that the emperor even thought to include Bram and Noud in his speech. He walked to within five feet of the emperor then gave a deep bow. River shadowed him standing to his side and a step behind. "Your Majesties, Grandma, Grandpa, may I present Bram and Noud, personal guards in service to the fae Queen Mother, Lady Telawynn, who are graciously on loan."

Bram and Noud had both chosen to wear the uniforms they wore when in service to Lady Telawynn. Under any circumstances, they were handsome, but in this space, they practically glowed.

"Next, may I present the druid, Mattekin, who has joined our wing. He has also been a longtime friend of our Grandmother Brenda while she's been in Underhill." Mattekin gave a bow and was visibly surprised when Darius stepped forward and hugged him.

"We are glad you have joined our sons. I already know you will help balance them and add much," Darius said.

Argos took Mattekin into his arms as soon as Darius released him. Skye could tell the prince whispered something, but he couldn't hear. Darius's comment and Prince Argos's whisper made Skye wonder what they knew that he didn't.

"Our next wing-mate is also the bond-mate to Bryan, Raphael, a Ranger in service to Regent Thillean."

"I do believe I've met your father, Raphael. You are as stunning as he. Welcome." Darius pulled Raphael into his arms before handing him off to Argos. Skye didn't have time to think too much about how the emperor would know Raphael's family.

"May I present, Jhaeros, son of King Arnakkhor."

"Father Dragon," Darius exclaimed as he gripped Jhaeros's shoulders and looked at him intently. "General Del Nuit, join us, please."

Skye had to hold himself back from running to his friend. It had been too long. Taleel looked stunning, and Skye was surprised to see him in elaborate civilian clothing rather than his Fleet uniform.

"Do you see it, my love? Jhaeros could easily be his son. The resemblance is remarkable."

Prince Argos reached out and gently lay a hand on Jhaeros's cheek, turning his face so he could look him in the eyes. "It is, but his eyes tell me he has a softer heart than our general. You are a true gift to the wing, young Jhaeros. Welcome." Argos pulled the night elf into a tight hug, and Skye felt the spike in emotion from his wing-mate. He managed to hold back the tears, but it was close. It was even harder when his grandparents sandwiched Jhaeros between them.

'I guess we don't have to worry about him being accepted,' Mistral hummed in satisfaction.

Darius had hugged him as well before Jhaeros joined the others. Taleel caught Skye's eye with a raised eyebrow that communicated so many questions. All of which would have to wait until later.

"This handsome young man was also born and raised on Hell World. Kibli is the son of Kabli."

Unlike the others, Prince Argos stepped forward immediately, wrapping Kibli in a tight hug before kissing his forehead. "Welcome to our family, Kibli. Have heart, you will be loved and cared for and never feel alone again. We will protect you with all the might of the Empire."

Skye was stunned. He watched Darius give a similar welcome and couldn't help but wonder how they'd known to say-

I may have given them a description and insights into all your new wing-mates earlier today. We thought it best if they were prepared. As you might have guessed, Prince Argos was quite incensed at Kibli and Revali's treatment, Kwill mind-spoke.

River elbowed Skye bringing him back to the moment.

"I'd like you to meet our other new wing-member who was born and raised on Hell World. Revali from the siren convocation. We are still learning of his gifts, but he is also an eagle shifter, large enough to carry more than one rider."

Prince Argos was visibly tearing as he grabbed Revali. Skye could feel the prince's anger. "Welcome home, Revali. As you heard me say to the others, you are loved and will be protected. You are ours now and will never have to suffer again." Argos stepped back and pushed back a lock of hair that had fallen forward. "Skye, you have truly outdone yourself. Such handsome young men, every one of them. Our family and the empire are truly blessed."

"As Prince Argos said, we are honored. Now we can dispense with the formality, and you can meet your brothers and sisters. Enjoy the appetizers and drinks, and we will soon feast in celebration," Darius said.

Skye moved to his men and hugged them in turn. He was glad Beck was helping him hold it together, but even with the extra shielding, he felt Argos's presence. The prince walked up to where Bram and Noud were speaking with Braden and placed a hand on each of their shoulders.

"You do realize this is temporary? It won't be long until we are welcoming you, not as guests, but as family. Perhaps think about what you'd like to do going forward and how best to ask Lady Telawynn for leave."

Skye realized his mouth was hanging open and snapped it shut as Argos took Nik's arm and pulled him off for quiet words.

"Any idea what that was about?" Garrett whispered, as they watched Skye's grandparents greet the wing again. His grandmother took Kibli in one hand and Revali in the other while she led them to the food.

Skye turned and looked for Kwill. Kwill, we have a question.

And when the time is right, I'll have answers, Kwill responded before going silent.

'Little prick,' Skye mentally grumbled.

'He is toying with us,' Mistral grumbled.

So... Guess that means he's not going to tell us, Garrett mind-spoke.

Skye spent the next hour trying to make sure that everyone met all those present. River, even more so than Garrett, stayed at his side and helped. He wished he had more time to connect with everyone, but it wasn't going to happen. He'd barely managed to get everyone in before they called for the dinner to begin. A twelve-course meal because apparently, Darius asked that they keep it light. By the time they were done, Skye wasn't sure he could move.

Relax, Skye. It doesn't all have to happen in one day. It will take time for them to get acquainted and build relationships. I'm not sure they could have dealt with more, Garrett sent.

You're right. I just hate not giving everyone appropriate time. I haven't seen Jerrick and Taleel for a real visit in forever. Skye blushed as he heard the whine in his mental voice.

Taleel will likely be stopping by our room later. He desperately needs to talk with you. I think meeting Jhaeros shocked him. If you need alone time, I could make some quality time with Jerrick, but only if you're okay with it.

Skye thought about it for a moment. 'Mistral, thoughts?'

'Jerrick is one of Garrett's best friends, and they've been separated for longer than any time in the past. I don't think we should be bothered if they want to reconnect. It would also allow us to give Taleel the attention he needs.'

'You noticed too? It's got to be strong if it got through my shields and Beck's. And what's up with that? Why was Beck helping me and not Kwill? Even for the introductions, Beck stuck with us.'

'A question for later. I sense plots within plots that will not be easy to untangle,' Mistral said.

Garrett, I think that's a good idea. I'd rather be with you - always. You know that, right?

I wouldn't have suggested it otherwise. You need to break Taleel in again so we can share him. Don't think I don't have some selfish motivation.

Skye laughed out loud, and others turned to look at him before shaking their heads and going back to their conversations. He took a moment to think. The new wing-mates' reactions were mostly what he expected. Mattekin was reserved but under the skin, was excited and terrified that it was so much different than he'd expected. Raphael was floating on a cloud, mostly about his new mate but also at seeing how the team interacted and how welcoming Darius and Argos were.

Kibli and Revali had similar reactions of being overwhelmed yet hopeful and not trusting that it could be real. Then there was Jhaeros. Skye could tell that he was unnerved at meeting Taleel and then, like a kid in a candy shop, at meeting all the others. Not surprising was how Willow immediately bonded with the night elf and offered to show all of them his garden.

Also not surprising was Mattekin's interpretation of the offer differing from Jhaeros's, though both of them would likely end up happy.

  • Scene 5 *

"That was exhausting," Dillon said as he pulled down the covers on the bed.

"I'm claiming it as a success, though a couple of times I thought Pater was going to have me in tears."

Dillon stopped and turned to Skye. "Not now, but eventually, can you fill me in on the new brothers' backgrounds?"

"Hmph. Yeah, that threw me too. So you know, Kwill did a dive on all the new wing-mates and briefed Pater. Some of what he referred to...yeah, I'll want a stiff drink before I explain."

"That's how it sounded." Dillon blushed and got an adorable smile on his face.

"Hey, that demands an explanation," Skye accused.

"Like you don't already know. Did you pick them because of how attractive they are? Because seriously, Skye." Dillon fanned himself.

"Anyone in particular?" Skye asked.

"Not really, but I can already see why you were concerned about Revali and Kibli. And you're right, they do remind me of Chris when he first came to us. If Arc can get it together, I think he'll be good for them."

Skye was about to respond when he felt another twinge and the room spun. He braced himself on the nightstand.

"Are you okay?" Dillon had a worried look on his face.

"I think my magic is trying to send a message. At first, I thought I might be getting sick, but as it has happened again and again, it reminds me of how I felt when I put off bonding Lord Eluf. It started as soon as I returned to Draga, but strangely it didn't happen the last time I was here."

"You think your magic is telling you that you've waited long enough?"

"Possibly. I haven't claimed either Nekko or Cocachet, and it has been a good while since my magic noticed them. Rebel and Basil have been more recent. Or maybe it is Basil, and it's something to do with vampires. I don't know, and my magic doesn't often give direct answers."

Skye turned toward the door when he heard voices.

"Prince Skye, General Del Nuit is here to see you. May I let him in?" the guard asked.

"Yes, please." Skye would have rather had one of his wing-mates guarding but with the four princes going in different directions and many of the guards having just come from Underhill, the shifts weren't working out.

"I'll leave you two on your own." Dillon waggled his eyebrows.

"Dillon, wait. Could you find a way to discreetly check on Captain Nekko and Admiral Cocachet? Maybe Rebel and Basil too. Perhaps Braden or Venci could help?"

"I will." Dillon made a quick exit to his room.

"Skye?" Taleel stepped into the main room.

He didn't hesitate to run over to the black dragon and wrap him in his arms. "Damn, I've missed you. We've got to come up with a better plan."

Taleel chuckled as he pulled Skye tighter against him. "Garrett's not here?"

"Nope. He's 'reconnecting' with Jerrick."

The black dragon laughed even harder. "You know it's not like Jerrick's gone without. Not only do we spend most nights together, but he's found a number of the new crew more than willing to help him out."

It was Skye's turn to laugh. "I may have forgotten. Having spent all this time with his cousin Venci, I can now say that when it comes to sex, they are very much alike."

"Have you met their family?"

"No, why?" Skye's curiosity was piqued.

"Pretty sure it's in their genetics." Taleel stepped back, tugging at the sleeves of his jacket. "About that new elf..."

"I'm assuming you mean Jhaeros? He's a night elf and son of the dark fae's king, Arnakkhor. His mother is also a night elf and a precognizant. She doesn't scry and seems to have no control over her visions. So far, Jhaeros hasn't manifested his gift. What else do you want to know?"

"I'll confess to being shaken. It was almost like looking in the mirror at a young version of me. If it weren't for the eyes..."

"We all noticed that the first time we met Jhaeros. His father resembles you but not as strongly. Something else we learned while we were in Underhill that might help is that almost all dragons have elves in their ancestry. The idea of keeping the race pure and not taking mates from outside is relatively new. And Keeper told us it isn't working."

"Seriously?" Taleel looked skeptical.

"I can't say it has been scientifically proven, but I believe him. I'm totally guessing, but I would propose that somehow in your history, a dragon mated with a night elf. We already knew I wasn't the first 'father dragon.' Maybe you're descended from one of those matches."

Taleel began to pace, staring at the floor. "Most black dragons don't share our appearance in human form. It is a family legend that Father Dragon blessed one of our ancestors to give us our unique appearance. But even in my line, the features don't always show."

"I'm sorry it upset you, but I don't see it as a bad thing." Skye paused as the idea struck him. "You know it's possible the family legend isn't so far off. What if it was someone like me, not Father Dragon but a father dragon? It could be interpreted as a blessing if your ancestor found their true mate in a night elf."

"You're right. I shouldn't be bothered. I can't imagine how you're enduring all of us in one place. The emotions and thoughts I'm getting from our wing-mates through the bonds are overwhelming. I didn't realize how quiet it was only hearing Jerrick."

"Be glad you had him with you. We've learned that a wing-mate who is separated gets what we've started calling bond sickness. We should always have at least one wing-mate with us and preferably more." Skye knew that it wasn't just general emotion and thoughts that were torturing Taleel, a good portion of it was him feeling their lust.

'Skye, did you remember there's no wing-mate with Zo,' Mistral whispered.

'Shit, no I didn't. I know Kleitos has been checking on him, but I don't know if that was enough. Add it to our list.'

Taleel stopped pacing and stiffened, letting out a loud groan as he threw his head back. Skye stepped up behind him and pressed into his back, settling his hands on the black dragon's hips.

"If you'd be willing, sex would help," Skye suggested.

Taleel let out an odd sound that may have been a laugh. He turned, staying close to Skye but now looking at him. "Who are you, and what have you done with Skye?"

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"You. Suggesting sex? I didn't think I'd been away that long. Has the universe shifted?" Taleel's smile lightened the teasing.

"If you're not interested." Skye tried unsuccessfully to pull away.

"Are you sure Garrett won't mind? He can be possessive at times," Taleel asked.

"I'll ask him to be sure." Skye closed his eyes and reached out for Garrett. Hey, love. Taleel wants me to make sure you're okay with us having sex.

Skye immediately felt the wave of amusement. Gee, one time... Yes, I'm sure, and if I'm really lucky and the timing works, I might join. You're planning to keep him there all night?

That was the plan.

It won't take me that long with Jerrick, and he has this crazy idea of hooking up with as many of us as he can. He's got this notion that he could be called back to work at any time.

Skye smiled. He could see Taleel watching him intently as if he'd pick up on his chat with his mate. That does sound like Jerrick. If you want me to share, let me know; otherwise, I'll shield so you can focus on him.

Love you.

Love you right back. And I hope you get to join us. Skye tightened his grip on Taleel's hips. "Shouldn't you be naked?"

Skye quickly stripped when Taleel released him. He tossed the clothes on the floor, not wanting to waste a moment. He sat on the edge of the bed and watched as Taleel undressed. Skye was pleased that the black dragon was taking longer because he certainly enjoyed the show.

"Hm. I almost forgot how sexy you are and how big those muscles were," Skye teased, making Taleel pause with one leg on the floor and tangled in his pants. "You need help?"

"Father Dragon, no. I'll never manage this with your kind of help."

Skye snickered. "Doesn't mean you wouldn't enjoy it."

'I want to fuck him,' Mistral demanded.

'That was my plan. I've missed that amazing muscled ass, and since he doesn't often give up his dragon hole, he'll be especially tight and responsive.'

Taleel was similar to Garrett in size, tall with a bodybuilder physique, ebony skin, pointed ears, and fascinating silver-gray swirling eyes. He had black silky hair that was pulled up in a top knot and long bangs that framed his face. Taleel's large round pecs were home to a pair of succulent, large dragon nipples.

"You are as stunning as I remembered," Skye whispered.

"It hasn't been that long, little dragon." Taleel tossed the last of his clothing aside and stepped close to Skye, making him look up. "What did you have planned for me?"

Skye grinned and slid his hand between Taleel's muscled thighs, cupping his large balls in his palm. "Hm. I thought I'd see if I could empty these. Maybe make you scream my name. Oh, and see if I could break my record for how many orgasms I can give you in one night."

Sliding his hand farther, Skye let his finger tease Taleel's dragon hole. He arched an eyebrow and looked at Taleel in question when he found the black dragon already slick.

"Father Dragon, I've already told you that you ruined me."

"You have? I don't remember that discussion." Skye found himself pushed back on the bed, his body pressed into the mattress and his mouth claimed by Taleel. Heat built quickly.

'Open our mind up to him a little more,' Mistral said. 'There's something else going on that we're not seeing.'

Skye eased up on his shielding enough to be open to Taleel. He immediately sensed a sadness and melancholy in the dragon that was not his norm.

'I wish I knew what Cory felt like when he got the bond sickness. I have to wonder if this is a milder version.'

'You realize if we were around, Cory wouldn't have gotten the bond sickness?' The criticism was all too evident in Mistral's tone.

'Oh, yeah.' Skye tried to dive deeper and didn't come up with anything more helpful than Taleel longing for his own bond-mate. 'Let's assume that's what it is. If so, sex and proximity to the wing should make him feel better.'

'Sex makes everything better.' Mistral's sage-like tone made Skye smile into Taleel's kiss.

"Father Dragon, I missed you." Taleel had his arms braced on either side of Skye.

Skye ground himself against Taleel's tight abs. "Still haven't answered me. 'Cause to my eyes, everything looks perfect-nothing ruined."

"Brat. You know you were the first I allowed to enter me. Now... Fuck, now I crave it. Why did you do that to me?"

"Because I couldn't resist your amazing ass, and even if I could, I wouldn't want you missing out. Still don't understand how you could go so long denying yourself something that felt so good."

"Grrrr." Taleel kissed down Skye's neck to his shoulder.

A thought came through to Skye now that he was open to his wing-mate, and he gripped Taleel's shoulder looking into his eyes. "You've got to be kidding me! Why are you still fighting this? You're still holding back from letting others take you?" Skye's voice might have edged into shouting.

"Garrett did when he visited, and Jerrick has a couple of times, but you know he prefers bottoming. I was waiting for you," Taleel grumbled.

"Stupid dragon." Skye flipped them so now Taleel was on the bottom.

'I don't think we can do extensive foreplay. He's already on edge,' Mistral observed.

Skye kissed Taleel driving his tongue into the dragon's welcoming mouth. The heat built quickly into a frenzy of lips, teeth, and tongue. 'Then let's give him a ride he'll never forget.' Skye started to pull his magic and let his senses take in what Taleel's body was telling him.

'Trust our abilities and go with what feels right,' Mistral advised.

Skye released Taleel's lips and kissed along his jaw, then moved down his neck. He ran his tongue down the valley between the dragon's muscled pecks before teasing one of his swollen nipples.

Taleel let out a low moan.

"Something else you neglected before me," Skye teased as he took the thick nub into his mouth and sucked. He ran his hand over the curve of Taleel's other pectoral before pinching that nipple and stroking it like he'd draw out the dragon milk Taleel was hoarding.

"Skye..."

"Hmm..."

"Can't you just fuck me already?" Taleel's voice broke several times as he spoke.

"Don't worry, I'll get there. But you have to remember how much I like dragon nipples." He gave an extra hard suck before moving his mouth to the other one. "Did you know, I've found with Garrett if I work them hard enough, I can make him cum?"

"Please..." Taleel gasped, and Skye got his first taste of dragon ambrosia from the black.

"Oooo...so good. You should make sure all your lovers milk these."

"But..."

Once Skye had both nipples leaking, he licked his way down Taleel's defined abs, tracking the valleys until he came to his Adonis belt and paused to admire the dripping cock.

"I think I want to taste you before I get inside you."

"No, Skye, please... I nee... aheeeee" Taleel cried out as Skye took him into his mouth.

The black dragon wasn't nearly as big as his mate, except for his glans which made it like sucking a mushroom. He got the velvety, hard cock into his throat and enjoyed how he was making the tough dragon fall apart. Taleel's pre-cum was delicious but Skye remembered that his dragon seed would be even better. He'd already gathered his magic, so he slowly let it seep into Taleel, filling every corner with his power.

"Father Dragon...What did you... OHHHHH!"

Skye slid his finger inside Taleel's tight hole. There was just enough slick that his finger breached him easily. It took seconds to find his pleasure spot as the nubs gripped and pulled on Skye. The black dragon was already glowing, and his body vibrated with Skye's power.

"Someone has a hungry dragon hole," Skye teased as he pushed in a second finger before taking Taleel back into his mouth. When the dragon was ready, Skye got a third finger inside him and began penetrating him, hard and fast while he sucked.

"Nn...Nno...Not g...going to last," Taleel moaned as his body writhed.

Skye kept a good grip on Taleel's hip as he sucked harder and pounded his fingers in and out of Taleel's ass. Using his magic, he increased the dragon's arousal, and then adding his telekinetic abilities, he began milking Taleel's nipples and doubled the sensations on his prostate.

"FUCK!" Taleel exploded into his mouth, and Skye drank down every delicious drop while not slowing down his assault on his dragon hole. He pulled off when he was sure there was no more dragon seed but kept his fingers wiggling inside his lover.

'He's tighter than all our other dragon wing-brothers,' Mistral complained. 'He needs more sex. Sex is good for a dragon, and our wing- mates' seed builds stronger bonds.'

'You're absolutely right, Mistral. We'll have to make sure that Taleel's ass stays full.' Skye moved to kiss Taleel's inner thighs, burying his nose in the crevice between leg and groin to capture Taleel's scent. "You're almost ready."

"What are you doing?" Taleel whimpered. His body still twisting and turning as his hole was fingered.

'Maybe we should have rimmed him and then used some lube.' Skye pushed in more of his magic, increasing the sensitivity in Taleel's channel and drawing out more of his slick. "Getting you ready, what else?"

"Please, Skye. Please fuck me already," Taleel pleaded, his nipples now dripping and his body covered in a sheen of perspiration. He threw his head back and groaned, arching his hips and thrusting his dick into the air. He was as hard as ever, even after the powerful release in Skye's mouth. Taleel let out another moan, and his body shuddered with an anal orgasm.

"There we go, now you should start feeling a little more into it," Skye said.

"Father Dragon, you're going to kill me."

"Please. Have you been gone so long you've forgotten what good sex feels like?" Skye lifted Taleel's muscled legs and lined himself up, pushing all the way into the tight hole in one thrust.

"Fuuuuuck..." Taleel grabbed his knees and held them back to get Skye in deeper.

Skye pushed in as far as he could go and leaned in to kiss the dragon. He took his mouth while he thrusted, continuing to abuse his nipples and prostate with his powers. Taleel's dragon hole was sheer heaven, tight, slick, and the nubs were massaging and stroking Skye as he slid in and out. By the time he'd fucked him hard enough to get two more anal orgasms out of Taleel, he knew he was getting close to orgasm himself.

Garrett, how close are you to joining? Skye sent to his mate.

Just got to the door. Am I too late? Garrett asked.

Really close. Damn but he feels so good. Once I fill him up, I'm going to get his cock inside me. As soon as he starts, I want you to join.

Oh, babe. My pleasure. Garrett's lust gave Skye a rush.

"I've missed your ass, Taleel. You're so tight and so perfect for my dick. I think I'll fuck some more cum out of you. You don't mind, do you?"

Skye didn't give him a chance to answer before he was licking the inside of Taleel's mouth. All it took was a little tweak and a squeeze to Taleel's prostate, and he felt the hot load erupt between them, Taleel's hole tightening and squeezing Skye even more.

"SKYE! UGHHHHH!"

Skye ground his hips and pumped his seed deep into Taleel, prolonging the black dragon's orgasm until one flowed into two. He knew Taleel's dragon- hole would absorb his cum before Garrett had a chance to get inside him.

Using his strength, Skye flipped them so Taleel was on top. Skye slowly let his hips drop, withdrawing from the dragon's ass. A little more magic, and he ensured that Taleel would stay hard. He spread his legs and gripping the dragon's firm ass, he pulled him forward until his cock was rubbing against Skye's hole.

"Your turn."

"Skye... I don't think..."

Skye wiggled until he got Taleel's cock inside him and then squeezed his ass, pulling him in until he'd bottomed out in Skye. Taleel may have been bigger, but Skye had unusual strength and didn't have trouble putting the black dragon exactly where he wanted him. He felt a little guilty about the hand-print shaped bruises Taleel would likely have on both ass cheeks.

"Mm. You feel so good inside me. Did you miss me, Taleel?" Skye took control and used Taleel like his own fuck toy, making the dragon's dick slide in and out.

"Fuck, Skye..." Taleel panted and slowly started thrusting on his own. "Father Dragon, but you're dangerous."

Skye could feel Garrett approaching and opened up to his mate. I got him loosened up for you, love. You'd have never gotten in that tight hole, I'd suggest lubing up before you try. He's still tight.

Garrett kept quiet, and Skye could feel the heat of Taleel's ass as Garrett pressed into him.

"What the fuck?" Taleel tried to pull up, but Skye held him in place as Garrett slid his thick cock the rest of the way in, bottoming out in Taleel's already well-fucked dragon hole.

"I missed this ass, buddy," Garrett growled, his deep voice vibrating through Skye.

Skye gripped Taleel's neck and pulled him back in for another kiss. Feeling Garrett's sensations was like having another go and adding it to Taleel being inside him, Skye thought it was perfect.

'Would be better with a couple more wing-mates,' Mistral said.

Skye felt a flush as the image came to mind and he quickly pushed it away to focus on the moment. He mentally reached out to the black dragon. Let go, Taleel. Let us take care of you. We'll make you cum as many times as you can handle, Skye sent.

Then we'll fuck this tight ass a few more times just to make sure you remember, Garrett added.

  • Scene 6 *

Skye felt like purring as Garrett stepped up behind him, wrapping his arms around him and nuzzling into his neck. Skye was smiling already, just appreciating the view of Taleel's gorgeous ebony body spread eagle on the bed. Even from several feet away, he could tell that his dragon hole hadn't closed.

'May want to ask Dillon to have some of that special cream handy,' Mistral suggested. 'His tits are going to be burning, and his hole might be a little sore.'

'True, that might have been a new record for us. Too bad they don't have anything to help aching balls. Maybe we should ask Quanta if there's a spell.' Skye giggled as Garrett tickled his ear with his nose.

"That was fucking amazing, babe."

"It was-" Skye paused when he felt Venci's mental poke.

Morning, Venci. Skye didn't bother shielding out Garrett. It was getting harder and harder to do anyway.

Skye, um... we may have a problem. You know how you wanted Dillon to have us check on people?

Yeah...

Well...seems that Captain Nekko is missing. He left on an unscheduled holiday yesterday, and no one knows where he went. And the more pressing concern is that General Cocachet is here, and he almost collapsed in our meeting. Since you asked, I thought maybe you'd know what was going on. Venci sounded worried.

Shit. Okay, I think it may be because we haven't completed the bond. Can you get him to a room...um...where we could do 'that'?

I'll let you know where, Venci responded.

"Shit, shit, shit. Garrett, can you use your connections or maybe Pater's and find out where Captain Nekko went? We may need to go to him," Skye said.

"Sure, this is serious, isn't it?"

"I think it's like what happened with Lord Eluf but is also messed up because of our time in Underhill. Let's assume we need to act quickly. Hopefully, Rebel and Basil are okay."

"Do you need help with Admiral Cocachet?"

"If I do, I'll get one of the wing-mates or River." Skye closed his eyes for a moment. "One of the wing-mates then. It's more important that you find Captain Nekko."

"Got it." Garrett made a quick exit and passed Dillon coming in the door.

"Good, you're here. Can you take care of Taleel? Oh, and if anyone has word on the vampires, please mind-speak me. I'm going to see if I can help Admiral Cocachet."

Dillon smirked but thankfully didn't say anything.

'I think our elf questioned the use of "help,"' Mistral said.

'Yeah, yeah, I'm sticking with it. Maybe he won't want the sex option.'

Mistral's laugh echoed in Skye's mind as he headed for the door.
