Chapter 45
The entourage from Canada wanted to see the San Diego Wild Animal Park. After breakfast all the guys went to their respective rooms to get their safari clothes on. Gus and I were getting ready in our room when he said,
"I wish that I could afford more than a toy ring, sweetheart. I wanted my proposal to be so special!"
"Ohhhh, nooooo! It WAS so special! I feel so loved! And -- somehow, I feel just that much more committed than I did yesterday. I didn't think I could love you any more than I already did, but - - obviously that was fallacy!"
"But I wanted to get you a special ring and - "
"A relationship isn't about a ring." I said
"I had one picked out." He pouted.
"Okay! Lets go get it! How much was it? It couldn't have been THAT much!"
"Yeah, right! Are we gonna buy it with our good looks?"
"Well, if you were willing to sell yourself, we probably COULD!" I quipped. "But -- barring that idea, We DID get a pretty nice birthday gift from Howard."
"Mr. Poole? That wasn't to `us'. It was to you! He loves you!"
"He's also paying YOUR educational expenses -- remember? He loves you too, babe. And you're a PART of me! So it was to both of us."
"I don't know - - "
"I do! And I WANT that ring! Haha! As soon as the guys go back up to Vancouver, let's go shopping!" I said. "Lets both get rings!"
"God I love you, Cole Stephanson!"
"What makes me so warm and full is -- I know it, Gus! I love you too." They came together for a close embrace and deep kiss before gathering with their other friends in the living room. Lexy and Marky held their arms out to their brothers. Gus and Cole hugged and kissed their respective favorites. The twins had somewhat been weaned of the guys constant presence since school started, but they still wanted to feel their favorite brothers' warm love when they were home!
"Those seem more like your sons instead of your brothers!" Said Chris, amazed. Cole and Gus both beamed.
Mom took the reluctant boys from their brothers and the whole crew left quickly to spare the twins -- and Mom -- too much agony. When they got outside, Chris said, "Can't they come with us?" Coles and Gus's eyes lit up as the others muttered their agreement. Cole ran back and popped his head in the door.
"Mom, can we take the twins with us?"
Mom hesitated a few moments, then said -- "Can their mother go too? We can take my new Excursion -- if Gus is willing to drive it!"
"That would be very cool, Mom!" Cole said. He turned to the rest of the guys. "She says if you're willing to drive the Excursion, she'll go too!" he said to Gus.
"Yes!" Said Gus.
"We can put one boy in each of the rear seats. It may get a little crowded with the baby car seats, but it's only couple hours."
As it worked out, there was plenty of room. And with the built-in DVD, the boys were happy to be surrounded by all of our friends, watching Barney. And - - our friends seemed to love the boys as well.
This is one of those times when it probably would have been more fun with kids a little older than 10 months. But it was still good. The boys were so good! We have plenty of DVD's for them to watch. We had lunch just before we drove into the park.
The Excursion was the perfect vehicle for this. We could all see well, and it was trippy driving in and amongst the wild animals. We picked up an electronic box that beeped and told us when to stop at various points along the trail, and it told us what was going on in that area. The boys slept through most of it.
When we finished driving through the park, we drove to the zoo. The boys were more impressed there, probably because between the six of us -- and Mom -- we carried them everywhere. The monkeys caught their attention the most and made them laugh. Both Kian and Chris seem to have a special gift for entertaining children, and the twins love them! Probably because they are still such children still themselves. Somehow I don't think they will ever lose that. I hope not! I hope Gus and I don't either!
We stopped for dinner on the way home. It was not late, so we were not in a hurry to leave the restaurant, especially after 3 hours of walking at the zoo. Nick rang his water glass with his butter knife.
"I have an announcement to make. I have talked with my father, and he has asked when you guys want to tie the knot. He is hoping it will be soon, and wants to suggest something to make it special. He wants to fly all of you -- your whole family -- and anyone else who wants to come -- to Vancouver to be married at the top of the Pan Pacific Hotel on the bay -- if it's in the winter, or at Buchart if in the spring or summer. Either way, he wants the two grooms to stay in the bridal suite at the top of the Pan Pacific on their wedding night."
Everyone at the table was stopped cold. "I hope I haven't offended anyone!" He said, looking kind if sheepish.
"No, I don't think so, Dear." My mom said. It's just -- well -- it' such a generous offer! We are not in exactly destitute conditions - "
"Oh! I'm sorry, Mrs. Stephanson! I didn't mean -- I mean - " Nick turned nearly purple.
" -- but it is still hard for us to think in those terms. Please don't think you offended us -- well, at least me -- in any way. Of course the boys will have to answer for themselves. But I can answer for my husband and me. That is a very generous offer and we thank you so much!"
I looked around the table. The Canada contingent was all hopeful smiles, except for Nick, who still looked worried. I looked at my sweetie. He only nodded. "I think we will accept your father's offer, Nick! I don't know when yet, but -- well -- we still need to talk about this -- as far as the time table will be -- how long we want to be engaged -- and all."
"Omigod!" Kian shrieked, loud enough to draw the attention of most at the restaurant -- and in his most femmy voice! "this is SOO exciting!" He bubbled. Nick was all smiles by this time.
Nick looked directly into Kian's eyes. "Well, I have another announcement -- and request. Kian, If Cole and Gus will agree to it -- can we make that a double ceremony?"
Kian looked blankly -- questioningly - into Nick's face. Then, slowly, realization crept into his eyes, and at the same time the blood seemed to drain out of his face. "You're -- you're -- serious?" Kian said. Nick nodded. "I mean, you're - - SERIOUS!" For the first time since I first met Kian, he was speechless. Tears sprang to his eyes.
"Yeah, Hon, I'm serious. And -- I've already talked to dad about it. Are you willing to let Cole and Gus set our wedding date?"
Kian only nodded, and then put his face into the nape of Nick's neck, and hugged him close.
"Cole and I will talk it over -- with each other and the rest of the family -- and we'll let you know when -- by next week."
"Are you sure dear, that you meant all our family?" Said Mom.
"That and all the friends you want to invite. Mrs. Stephanson, my dad can afford it, believe me! Be extravagant!
I know that Mom and Dad would not invite many of their friends to watch 4 gay guys get married -- if any. But I resisted saying anything.
"Disgusting!" We heard uttered by a loud whispered voice in back of us.
"Oh SHUT up!" A nice looking guy sitting at the next table said. We looked back and this skinny old lady looked shocked that anyone would come to our defense. They looked like they were ready to come to blows. The guy was with -- probably -- his wife. He looked to be in his mid-forties.
"It's okay!" I said. "We know it's a volatile issue."
"That doesn't make it okay to be rude!" the guy said without taking his eyes away form the old lady.
"It's just not Christian!" She said quietly.
"That's your opinion! In my opinion, what YOU are doing is far from Christian! Forbidding a whole sector of our society from marrying promotes promiscuity. Is that what you want?"
"I just think - " but she could say no more. It was as if God had put a sock in it FOR her! She was wobbling. I almost laughed. Part of me felt sorry for her. I wished the guy would let it go. But another part of me was glad!
"You see? You are the epitome of the old joke: you stopped to think and forgot to start back up again." Half the restaurant laughed and clapped.
"Young man, I never thought about it that way. You mean gay people are promiscuous because we won't let them marry?"
"No -- actually not." He said. "Gay people are promiscuous for the same reason that straight people are. They don't understand the value in NOT being promiscuous. If the laws were changed to allow gay marriage, a percentage -- probably large percentage -- still would not marry. They LIKE being promiscuous -- just like so many more heterosexual people like it."
"I -- I -- I think I see what you are saying." She said, haltingly. She got up and came over between us. "I'm going to talk to my minister about this. He is always preaching against it. But I think I see a different light. Please forgive my rudeness?"
"Who's your minister?" The guy said.
She told him.
"Oh yeah - him!" The guy said. He looked at us. "Everyone in this area knows that preacher. He's the main honcho at the huge Assembly of God Church around here. "Don't bother, Ma'am. He's not interested in truth or reason. Only his own agenda. He plays on the hate of a lot of people -- or sheeple!"
"But he seems so sincere."
"Oh, he's sincere all right. He sincerely wants you to give generously to make him richer. Have you seen that he no longer is driving his Cadillac? It's no longer good enough. He now is chauffeured in a limo everywhere he goes."
"Yes, I have seen that. I don't think it is bad to be prosperous, but - "
"But I don't think a person should be paid to preach the Gospel. His motives are in question, aren't they?"
"I'm going to at least talk to my husband." She said. "Thank you for enlightening me. And - " she turned to our table. "again, please forgive me for being rude. I thought I was doing it for Jesus. Now I think that Jesus has just taught me from one of his disciples!"
Mom rode shotgun on the way home -- she insisted that I sit next to Gus. "Do you think" Gus started, "that Christmastime would be a good time?"
"Oh yes!" Mom said. "Christmas in - "
"I think Gus was talking to me, Mom." I said gently.
"Oh - - I suppose he was. It's just not fair!"
"What's not fair?" I asked.
"With three boys, I thought I'd never have the chance to plan a wedding. How can I do it when it's going to be way up in Canada and catered and set up by Nicolas's father?"
"I can speak for my dad here, Mrs. Stephanson. He doesn't have time for that kind of stuff. But I'm an only child and it will be my mom's only chance too. I know she'd be more than happy to share that responsibility with you!"
"Omigod!" Gus said. "I never envisioned anything like this! Well, one thing's for sure -- you can leave MY mom out of the planning!" Mom gave him a sympathetic look.
We bubbled over most of the way home. The boys couldn't hear the DVD, but they probably couldn't understand it anyway. They watched the TV, but they were caught up in the excitement.
When we got home, we couldn't wait! All six of us went to a jewelry store. Kian, Nick, Boyd and Chris only to look and give us a bad time. We chose gold rings with a Celtic knot design. Very masculine! We decided to wear them on our right hands until the ceremony, where we would change it to the left. Kian and Nick were looking at diamonds. Chris looked a little covetous, but Boyd was not much interested.
My dad was taken back at first. "I just never thought about -- well -- my boys getting married. Haha! I sometimes laugh a little when I catch myself trying to imagine that you are just best friends -- and even though I know what goes on when you are alone in your bedroom -- well, maybe not EVERYTHING -- haha - " He laughed nervously -- like he wished he DID know "I have to admit that sometimes I pretend that you're just friends."
"Dad, we don't really expect you to invite anyone outside the family to this affair. Nick just wants you to know that you may if you want." I had read him correctly. He relaxed a little.
We called within days to ask Howard if the 27th would be okay. "Spendid! Cole, Nick told me about rude old woman at the restaurant -- and the nice man that came to your defense. I have to tell you -- I've not been the same since -- well you know! I love you -- you know that -- like a second son. You have brought me and my son back together -- twice! But I still didn't have this deeper understanding that that man taught us all. We all are excited for all of you!"
School was grueling, so the time flew by. Boyd flew Mom up to Vancouver the week before Thanksgiving. Mrs. Poole flew down on the plane so she could spend the time flying with mom, and they could discuss things that only mothers know about. She and Boyd and Chris very graciously accepted my mother's home cooking -- with a certain amount of relish.
Mom was gone a week.. She called home every night to talk to Dad and sometimes with both Gus and me. She wanted everything to be perfect for us.
The ceremony was planned to take place in a very ornate banquet room at the hotel that Gus and I were to spend our "wedding night" at. Everyone else stayed at the mansion, except Nick and Kian, who decided to keep their whereabouts a secret after the party. The room was really two regular lodging rooms that were refurnished like the Taj Mahal. There were seats set up for about 80 guests, with an aisle down the middle. Our family and friends were to be on one side and Nick and Kian's on the other.
We all dressed formally, and when we walked into the room, the orchestra played a march, but not the wedding march. Our mom's got up and turned around. The aisle was arranged so all four of us could walk abreast through the guests. There were more people on Nick's side. Some of the Poole's friends who "understood" were invited, as well as some of Howard's and Nick's business associates.
When our mom's arose, and everyone turned, there was a general intake of breath. I guess they were taken back by these four very handsome (blush blush!) men walking down the aisle. Then - - Gus and I spotted them at the same time. He stumbled a bit, and started breathing hard -- to stifle his emotions. Too late! Tears were already in his eyes, as he looked into the smiling eyes of his mom. His dad was standing by her, with a serious look. But I saw him wink at Gus.
Gus stopped about ½ way down the aisle. The rest of us stopped with him. He just had to regroup for a moment. Most of the people in the room probably wondered what was happening. I glanced up at my dad, who has a big smirky smile on his face.
After some hyperventilating, Gus whispered -- so all in the room could hear -- "Okay! I'm ready." A titter of giggles started around my family and spread to the rest of the room. Apparently they knew! But it was as much a surprise to me as it was to Gus.
We walked the rest of the way to the front of the room, where the judge/friend that Howard hired was waiting. He smiled at us and started:
"This is a new experience for me, but one that I feel privileged to perform. I have known Nicholas all his life, and have always been impressed by the lad. I am now impressed by his courage in confessing his love in this manner, joyfully and publicly. I honor each of these young men for their courage!
"In most cases, I do not preach to a couple who has come to me to be married, but in this case, since Nicholas is a dear friend -- and son of a dear friend, I'd like to say a few words.
"Nick, I believe you know what a serious step you are taking. You were always a prodigious child and even at this young age -- for matrimony -- I believe you understand that it is more than a ceremony. Very soon, it will probably be possible to make this a completely legal pact between you and Kian. I have watched you and Kian grow from boys to young men. I don't know Gus and Cole, but I am going to assume they also understand the gravity behind this joyous affair.
"The four of you have known each other for a time -- a time which has been valuable for you to see into each others' hearts -- to understand somewhat of your partner's thinking. This is important in marriage. Too many people enter it lightly -- both hetero and homosexual couples. It can either bless you for life - or scar you for life.
"Nick, Kian, Cole, Gus, please always think of your partner first in all your dealings and acts. Be long in angering and quick to forgive -- for there will be many times when forgiveness is needed. Always communicate any contentious feelings or thoughts that you may have, because if you don't, they will cause a rift, which in turn, as they increase in number can become a gulf that cannot be crossed.
"Now, a little about your specific situation. Being gay is not easy in the best of circumstances. Most infidelity is perpetrated by men. It's a sad commentary, but true. Canada is about to accept gay marriage as equal in every way to marriage between opposite sexes. This will help in great measure to curb runaway promiscuity among gay people -- mostly men. But you still must be extra vigilant to remain true to your partners. I look at you today and all four of you in your fine clothing are magnificent specimens of manhood. There will be many who will try to woo you away -- even for one night or one hour -- or one minute -- to feel the heady passion of just holding any of you close. Don't let that happen. It is the recipe for disaster in your relationships.
"That said, I am not telling you that you should be cold to your friends. Just be vigilant in your dealings.
"Now," he said, turning to Nick and Kian, "Now for the short part. Nick, do you take Kian as your partner, to be friends, lovers and one in life until one of you dies?"
"I do."
He said that to each of us. We each said "I do".
"Now," he began again, "I believe each couple has some way that they have decided to seal this public ceremony. Please turn to each other and finish this part and start your lives together."
We waited and watched Nick and Kian. They turned toward each other. "Kian, you are my soulmate, my love. I pledge my whole self to you, to become one in every way with you, all of my life." He then took a platinum ring from his pocket that had a 1.5 carat diamond set in it, and placed it on Kian's hand. Kian repeated what Nick did. Then they embraced and kissed deeply. My attention was diverted slightly as I saw Gus's dad's head shaking.
Then it was our turn. I wish we had prepared something to say -- but we didn't. But we did decide that Gus should go first, since he was the one to ask me at the restaurant that day in San Diego.
He took my right hand and removed my ring. He dropped my hand and brought the ring to his lips and kissed it. Then never taking his eyes from my own, he found my left hand and put in on my ring finger.
I then repeated what Gus had done for me, and we embraced. We had decided the night before not to kiss, but since Nick and Kian did it, so did we. But our kiss was short and closed mouth. The whole room erupted in applause and cheers.
"I now pronounce you married!" Another cheer and then everyone rushed us at once. The first to reach us was Gus's dad.
"Son, I'm sorry if my being here might have set you back a notch. But your mother and Mr. and Mrs. Stephanson convinced me that this was the best way. I'm also sorry that I've been such an ass about this -- this -- thing that you have had to deal with. Cole's father spent some long hours with me, teaching me what he understands about it. It's still foreign to me, but know that I love you and will continue to try to understand."
"Dad," Gus started, but he couldn't possibly go on. He grabbed his dad and buried his face in his shoulder and neck and blubbered. Gus's dad stood there woodenly, looking bewildered, not knowing quite how to react. Finally he put his arms around Gus and patted him on the back. HE looked extremely uncomfortable, but he was trying! Finally Gus broke the embrace and stepped back. The whole room was silent. "Dad - - - If you never understand fully, I won't mind. I can't even understand what guys see in women!" He laughed. His dad laughed. Then the rest of the people broke into laughter and applause.
Winter in Canada is like a fairyland! Everything covered in white, with sparkling icicles and snow and ice clinging to the trees. It is nice to walk with my sweetheart -- and see other sweethearts -- both gay and straight -- so in love. Or maybe it's just me. Everyone looks in love! Haha! I can feel my ring on the left hand all the time! It seems silly, but ever since this afternoon when we left everyone behind at the hotel, I have been feeling like a newlywed -- or as I suspect other newlyweds feel.
This is such a new -- and strange -- feeling I have! It's as if something has really changed! Well, obviously Gus and I are still the same. But this feels - - good! I feel -- so much more committed -- to Gus -- to making our marriage work! Damn, that sounds funny. I really never thought I'd be married -- well -- to a guy anyway! I don't ever want it to end!
"Wow!" Gus said.
"What?"
"You look so deep in thought! Can I come in?"
"You already are in, Sweetheart. I -- I -- " All of a sudden I couldn't speak.
"Cole! Are you alright?" He said, concerned.
"Mo -- mo -- more than alright, Gus. I am just so overwhelmed with all this!"
"Do you wanna go back to the room and rest?" He said, still concerned.
"I do wanna go back to the room." I averred. "But not to rest! I want you to make such sweet love to me!"
"Oh!" he said both relieved and delighted. "OH! Yessss! But we have to be back to the banquet room by eight for the party."
"Or not!" I said, laughing.
"We owe them -- especially Howard -- that!" he corrected.
"I know, but we have time for this. That even gives us time for a nap -- after!"
"Got it all figured out huh?"
"That's the nice thing about being right here in the same hotel!"
When we got to our room, there were tropical flowers on the dresser that smelled so nice! With an envelope. We opened the envelope.
"Dear Boys. We are so grateful to the Poole's for their generosity. And don't think that we have not told them in a hundred ways. This check is for your honeymoon. You can take time now or use it later. Half of it is from Bob and Judy."
"My parents gave - " Gus choked up.
Continuing with the letter: "I think that Bob and Judy are hoping that you go to Hawaii. They said they want you to experience something that they never have. I found out that Nicolas and Kian are going there tomorrow. With Mr. Poole's pull, he thinks he can get to on the same flight. Think about it -- but quick! Love, Mom and Dad"
"N - no Shit! Hawaii? -- and -- omigod! My parents!"
"I know!" I said, unbuttoning the studs from his shirt. "Umm -- I don't wanna be a nag, but - - - LETS FUCK!"
"Cole!" Gus said laughing. We tore ourselves out of the rest of our clothes, throwing them everywhere. "Such Language!"
"Well - - I feel I know you so much better now!" I joked. He pulled me on top of him as we flopped on to the bed. We kissed and giggled for about 5 minutes before he got down to the serious business of massaging my anus -- getting it ready for him. He had a way of wetting his finger and making it feel so much like a tongue, that I didn't care if he never gave me a rim job. I was squealing like a kitten, begging for mercy! He did it way past the time when I thought I was ready. Then he opened me up as only Gus knows how to do, and with all four fingers spreading it open he kissed me and softly said my name.
"Cole -- oh Cole, I love you soooooo much! A few years ago, as I stole looks at you in high school, I never dreamned I'd be here with you like this. And if I had dreamed it -- I could have no way of knowing how good -- how sweet -- it is to make love to -- with you." I felt a slight pressure which told me he was in. He expertly replaced his fingers with his much smoother and softer dick. Softer on the outside, but raging hard on the inside.
He couldn't keep kissing me while stroking. I lifted my legs over his shoulders and he looked directly into my eye, as he went deeper with each stroke until he bottomed out. I could feel the soft tissue of his scrotum each time he went in. He couldn't kiss me, but his mouth was watering like Niagara. He let this fall onto his dick and it took several slow strokes to get it in me. He stopped momentarily to kiss me.
"Go for it, Dude!" I said.
He started to stroke faster. I opened my legs as much as I could. "Deeper, Sweetie, Deeper - - and harder. HARDER!" I commanded. He rammed with all his might. Tears were flowing from his eyes as he neared his explosion. It was obvious as he started to moan and then scream that any second I'd feel that warmness inside me. But it didn't immediately and he stopped. He again leaned down and kissed me as he started up again slowly and carefully so as not to fall out. Kissing is tricky in this position.
But in this position, with him leaning over me so far as to kiss me, he made perfect contact with my prostate. It wasn't long before I started to moan. He contorted himself to take longer, faster strokes as he continued to kiss me. I was ready to blow and then he got a panicky look -- no -- just very excited as he started anew to moan and in ten seconds both of us were screaming and panting and moaning. I finally felt the warmth of him shooting up inside me and I shot all over both our torsos. He collapsed on top of me, his dick popping out as he slid around in the generous cum between us! We kissed and panted and moaned for at least five minutes more, as he slipped along side of me and we caught our breath.
As we started to relax a little, I kissed him one more time and said, "So! THAT'S how married people do it! I think I'm gonna like this!" We both laughed. We got up and headed for the shower. We had a little more fun washing each other in the shower and grabbed a towel as we came back into the bedroom. We spread out the towel on the bed -- where we had made quite a mess!
We lay down in each others arms. I was almost asleep when he reached over and grabbed the phone and touched the "0".
"Front desk. How my I help you?"
"Please give us a wake up call at 7:00 PM. And - - please send a maid up to redo our room after we leave at 8:00."
"It will be done exactly as you have asked, sir."
He pecked me and turned his back to me and we spooned to sleep.
THE BEGINNING
Notes: (And a little history about the author) Cole and Gus are maybe a little young to be married, but everyone is ready at a different time. There are many who would NOT take this step at all -- wanting the freedom to shop around all their lives. That is their choice and their concern. It is my belief that committed coupling is the best way to find happiness. Of course it is obvious in all my writing that I still believe that a traditional family with a mother and a father is probably the most optimum way to a joyful life, but even that has no guarantees and ....
Some just are not "wired" for this possibility. Of course all of us -- if we are normally healthy -- have the ability to procreate. But some, for reasons which are widely debated, are not disposed to this type of life -- or they do not wish to sacrifice one part of their life to achieve another. That is a choice which we all must make.
Even heterosexual couples must choose whether to have children or not. Most choose to. Maybe many shouldn't! I never even considered the possibility of loving a man in that way before I was in my 50's. I knew I was attracted to guys from an early age, but I thought/hoped/wished I wasn't! At the same time, I loved the feelings I had when I was aroused by a guy.
Cole's dad's experience when he was young -- experimentation -- was my own experience. I craved touching my friends. I ached to for the long years from puberty to the end of my teens. After puberty it was no longer okay to touch and suck other boys. And I told myself that I would "grow out of" the attraction to guys -- like a teen will outgrow acne. I was pretty handsome as a youth, so I dated every weekend of my teen life -- popular girls who wanted to be seen with me. I wasn't a jock, but who knows what they thought they would get from me? (They got nothing, so they seldom dated me for long!)
I married my best friend when I was 20. Sound familiar? She was abused as a girl, so my disinterest in sexual things with her was fine with her! After 12 years of marriage and 4 children, I admitted, at least to myself, that I probably was not going to grow out of it. But by then, I was so busy raising my children that I had no time for fooling around on the side. Oh, and did I tell you -- I am not in the least attracted to women! I raised my kids almost by myself, because it turned out that she was not emotionally equipped to deal with children. I on the other hand was the classic super-dad.
Then, when I was 52, and all my children were grown, a boy came into my life. A man really, but he was a boy to me, at 19. Our story is written also in Nifty, under the name, "Adam" and is found in the "so-sex" section: /nifty/gay/no-sex/adam/
Maybe it should not have happened. But who can say that maybe it saved the life of this boy/man! He is now happily in love with a guy he can share all with.
There was a brief interlude when I was first married, when a boss seduced me. It didn't take much seduction because I was more than willing. But he only wanted some quick satisfaction and he dumped me. That too is written in the adult-friends section of nifty as "Cute-Boss": /nifty/gay/adult-friends/cute-boss
