Balkore was furious. For twenty years he had searched, studied and sacrificed so much, just to understand this new. evolution!! It scared him that his knowledge would not be passed on, even worse, he feared his Daughters safety.

"By the wrath that I possess, I swore to you an oath, no, a FACT! I won't be the only one who will understand such as I have!!"

He had been backed on to a cliff edge, and had no other option, guns were pointed at him, people screaming "Witch!" "Devil" and "Walking Curse!". If only they knew. Peter, the head of this Mob and town Priest called silence. Pulled out his Bible and thrust it full length at Balkore. "This is the ONLY power of GOD !! With what power invested in me, in the name of-"

"Save your prayer for my funeral you idiot!" Balkore said vehemently.

And with that, Balkore turned and jumped off the cliff, down to the ocean, while the stormy night sky bellowed and darkened. As he fell he quietly wove an unbreakable bond between him and his Daughters. As he did so, he heard were his two Daughters screaming.

"Mummy why did Daddy jump? Why were the people calling him bad names?" "Dearest Tyanne, when you are older you will understand, it's hard for your mummy to describe what happened too."

"Mother.."

"LEIGHA!! What are you doing !! Put that gun down!! That's your Fathers!"

"I know." Leigha, 17 and full of anger, and all she could see was her father falling, and it stung, she wanted revenge. Open me. She wanted those who pushed his father off the cliff to pay for what they had done. Embrace me. "What was that mother?"

"I didn't say anything!! Now go put that gun back! Now I'm going to start preparing dinner, I suggest you help too!"

"Can I help too, mummy?"

"Yes Amanda, come with mummy into the kitchen."

COME TO ME !!!

What the hell was that !! Leigha thought to herself. Her sister was standing right in front of her now.

"Was that Daddy?"

"What did you mean.." She knelt down to level with her sister "Did you hear that too?" She looked at her baby sister, 7 years old and she had to witness her father killed! How terrible, but for some reason, her hearing what we thought was our father, made her look like nothing had happened, just like mother..

"It sounded like daddy" She said twirling her skirt around.

"Yes it did, didn't it?" And all the pain disappeared, almost as if her Father hadn't died. She went out the front door and towards the Barn, she was halfway there when she turned back, she could see her mother in the kitchen busying herself with the preparations, had she heard his voice too? Why wasn't she crying? Why did mother seem so calm and focused? Her conscious must've guessed where she was heading because Leigha suddenly felt herself opening the side door into the large old Barn. Hay, Fathers Field tools, horse saddles, horses, chickens and pigs. The smell was natural, earthy and calming to her, Father and her had spent hours in here, talking about the sky and supernatural possibilities, ghosts, witches, fairies and everything else that had filled her childhood dreams. Leigha. open me!. She jumped, Leigha looked to her left, to her right, above her and anywhere else. A shiver ran up her spine. That definitely sounded like father, only ethereal. I took a few steps forward, placing myself in the centre of the Barn, horses to my right, and hay to my left. My flannel shirt started to itch me, as did my boots. Its like the were telling me to stop being still and do something. OPEN ME !! "OPEN WHAT!!" She yelled! She was hoping for an answer. But none. But what was there to open in here? The store cans? The doors.. doors. A couple of times when she had come in here looking for father she never found him, especially when she had seen him go in here. There must be a basement or something in here.

Leigha grabbed a pitch fork from the back of the Barn and started to clear the floor of thick hay. She started from the front, working her way back. OPEN!!! . Clink the pitch fork struck something solid. I abandoned the pitch form and went down on my knees, clearing the area that looked like a concealed cellar door. There were two round metal handles that were indented into the floor. I grabbed one in each hand and pulled back, they opened up easily to reveal a stair well. "When did father build this?" It was dark so I went back to fetch an oil lantern and matches, once lit I could see the stair well led down to a passageway about four meters down. Come to me Leigha !! The voice was softer and more human this time, I started to descend the stairs. Questions running through my head, curiosity and fear running up and down my spine. I reached the bottom, facing two large wooden doors with twisting patterns carved all over, there were no door handles so I placed my hand on the left side and pushed. Like the cellar doors they opened with ease, as I peered in a soft light flooded my view.

As I stepped into what I thought, was a library, looked more like a very lavish and Victorian styled hall. Large with Vaulted ceilings, two large fireplaces, dark brass columns and bookshelves on both sides, Fur covered leather couches of a deep green shade and small tables placed between four sets of Lounge sets, were spread out evenly in the four corners of the room. The floor was a massive Persian rug with rich colours and a swirling pattern that matched the doors.

The back wall however was covered with a large and heavy looking Curtain. A dark bark and red colour. "Just like my eyes" Leigha said to herself.

I started to walk forward towards the Back wall, as I got closer light started to emit from the edges, growing as I got closer and closer to the curtain. Leigha, it is time for your awakening. A tear traced down my face. "Father.." I was in front of the the curtain now. I slowly lifted my left hand to uncover the wall. The light has dimmed do a deepest purple. My hand touched, it was silk. Then my stomach churned as I saw the curtain disappear from where my hand had touched, widening out to the edges, revealing a large thick book on a beautiful pedestal. The cover read "Archai'a" I flipped the book open and my mind became engorged. Everything my father had learnt and discovered filtering through me in a rush I could not control. Darkness...... I awoke to find myself on the floor, I must've fainted. As I got up I felt.. Strange, like my awareness was larger, I could hear. Everything!! And the shadows that came off the columns seemed to beckon to me, the light stung my eyes a bit, so I walked over to one of the pillars, away from the light. I leaned on the pillar, marvelling in the cold feeling of shadow and brass. Then I remembered.

Welcome my daughter, now you know why we were different, why we were persecuted. No you must go on, pass what I have down your line, your mother must not find out, I will visit her in her dreams. But do not let Amanda know, she isn't ready yet, once she is 12 show her my library, teach her what I have given you, then start her awakening.

My eyes narrowed. Revenge doesn't have to be direct, it can be progressive, it can hide and grow. Revenge can be accepted, and so will this gift. It will be 100 years when revenge will be revealed from this year, 1885, revenge will be born.

Well I hope you enjoyed the introduction, I know it doesn't seem to show any direction towards a story where "Gay" characters exist, but trust me it does! So, I officially welcome you to the realm of Archai'a, a modern day realm that sarts off in the year 2003 in the next chapter. Any suggestions please feel free to e-mail me on Blazed37@Hotmail.com
