The Cabin by the Lake

Chapter 10

Winter was coming to an end and spring was slowly edging it's way in the area. The snow was melting big time. The winter operation was closed and there was nothing to do but wait. Water and mud mixed with snow was everywhere. The summer activities would not start until about Memorial Day or maybe a little later.

With time on their hands and nothing to do, Terry, Kyle and Dennis decided to go to Cabo San Lucas and spend a couple of weeks just loafing and lying on the beach. All three of them spoke a little Spanish so between them, they should be able to avoid any major problems..

Dennis called his dad in Japan to see if he had booked his flight home yet. Much to Dennis's delight, he had not. Dennis had him to book a flight to Cabo San Lucas. Dennis gave him the dates and that he'd book rooms at the hotel for them. Terry, Kyle and Dennis became very excited and were finding it hard to find things to occupy their time until their departure date. Their days were spent repairing and servicing the equipment. The three of them started a list of things that were beyond repair and needed to be replaced . The worn out things were removed to the recycling centers.

In a concentrated effort to cope with his recent breakup with Stan, Terry began moving closer to becoming his old self once again. Kyle and Dennis found things to keep him busy. One of them was always near-by to spin him around and head him in a different direction when the gloom and doom stated showing on his face and in his attitude.

Stan tried calling several time but Terry refused to talk with him. Terry wanted nothing to do with him, and he was someone from his past that he just wanted to forget.

Stan even called Dennis and Kyle. They talked with him very briefly. Stan had split with his new boy friend and wanted to talk with Terry about coming back home. They told Stan that they would tell Terry but would do nothing to persuade him to change his mind. Terry would have to make that decision all by himself.

That evening, the guys were just sitting around talking. "Terry, I bet you can never guess who call Dennis and me today."

Terry did not even hesitate and said, "I bet I can in one guess, Stan! Right?"

"Hey, no fair. You could at least have taken two guesses," laughed Kyle. "He wanted us to act as go-betweens and talk with you. He and his new lover had a big fight and have broken up. Stan would like to come out and see if you two could get back together." "You can tell that dirty old `SOB' that I said NO! I want nothing more to do with him! What I felt for him at one time has been completely destroyed. I will never forgive him. He is out of my life forever."

"Terry, Kyle and I have already chosen sides. We are both in your corner and ready to come out fighting. However, we told Stan that we would give you the message. The rest is up to the two of you. We will stand by you and support the decision that you make. We will not be talking with him again. If he calls again, then we will just say bye and hang up," said Dennis.

"Guys, he will just have to call me. I am not calling him. I appreciate what you are doing. I agree this has to remain between Stan and me. I don't want to talk with him but I will tell him that what we had is completely over for the two of us and that there is absolutely no chance of us to get back together."

Dennis and Kyle threw their arms around Terry, "Terry, you have all our love and support," Dennis said "Hey, big guy. Go get em!" Kyle responded.

That evening, Stan called again. Terry put him on speaker phone so that Kyle and Dennis could hear both sides. "Stan, When you left me, I was devastated and gave up wanting to live. I never want to go through that again. What we once had" ........Stan started to interrupt but was cut short by Terry. "What I started to say is what we had is over and gone. We can't ever turn back the clock and begin anew. Sure we had many good times and lots of fun. That is all over. I am getting a new life, and I would suggest that you do the same."

Pleading, Stan said , "Then, I guess what we had is completely over. I'll never forget you, however you won't be bothered by me again. Just remember, I still love you and always will."

Terry did not even respond but just hung up the phone and just stood there trembling. Kyle and Dennis didn't say anything but just took him in their arms and held him tightly.

Terry, Dennis and Kyle didn't mention the incident again. The three of them had a feeling of closure knowing that Stan was out of Terry's life.

They became very excited as the departure date for Cabo San Lucas was quickly approaching and soon they would be on the plane headed for fun in the sun.

The guys arrived in Cabo San Lucas and were sitting on the balcony waiting for Jim, Aunt Sara, and Uncle Jeff to arrive. Jim finally called and told them they were in the taxi and headed their way and would see them in about 10 minutes.

After introductions, Aunt Sara and Uncle Jeff wanted to lie down and rest for a bit. They hadn't planned on falling asleep. They did and had a nice, long nap.

The guys went to the balcony and visited. Jim had a warm glow all about him and it was evident to Kyle, Terry and Dennis that his long vacation had worked wonders.

"So Dad, did you meet anyone interesting and exciting?" queried Dennis.

"Sure did, everywhere we went we found new friends and made new acquaintances." replied Jim.

"Dad, you know what I mean. Did you find "Him" and did you get laid?" responded Dennis.

"My, my aren't you the nosy one! For you information, NO, I didn't. I didn't even try. I wanted to give Aunt Sara and Uncle Jeff the time of their lives after all the nice things they have done for me." said Jim.

"And he did, too!" said Aunt Sara. Aunt Sara and Uncle Jeff had come on the patio unnoticed and were just standing there listening. "We had the best time and it was all because of Jim. We would have never gone if it hadn't been for him. Our only regret is why didn't we do this twenty years sooner."

"Well, I think we can arrange another trip in the future." said Dennis.

"No, thank you. I think this trip was superb and one that we will remember the rest of our lives. We are very appreciative and glad that we got to do it. One trip at our age is enough. We are going to stop by our place in Texas and put everything we want in a U-haul, give the rest, including the house to charity, and head for Oregon. Jim wants us to be near family and we took him up on his offer," said Uncle Jeff.

"Have you ever been to Oregon?" asked Kyle.

"No, but we have always wanted to go out there," Aunt Sara said.

"I would like to go down on the beach. I will get a couple of wheelchairs and a couple of umbrellas from the hotel and we can spend the rest of the day getting a sunburn," Terry said.

"Good idea! Let's do it!" said Jim.

Everyone grabbed a towel and a blanket and they were off. "Aunt Sara and Uncle Jeff, we forgot to tell you that this is a clothing optional beach. I hope this won't bother you," said Kyle.

"Thank you for looking out for our interest. I think all the beaches in the world except those in the US are nude beaches. We have never been embarrassed before. You have to watch that old man there, every time a top-heavy blonde walks by he looses his upper dentures. They don't do anything for me but let a young man walk by and that is a different story," Aunt Sara said in a burst of laughter.

"I don't foresee any problems. Let's be on our way." Said Kyle.

Aunt Sara and Uncle Jeff were wheeled to the water's edge and the umbrellas planted in the sand. The guys said that they were going to walk down the beach and would be back in about an hour.

"Hey, guys! You can take your clothes off and leave them here. You won't have to carry them and try to remember where you left them. I want all four of you to put suntan oil all over your bodies, make sure to put lots of oil on your privates well. You will suffer if you don't. I want to supervise and made sure you do it properly. After all, I want to get my thrills," declared Aunt Sara.

"Are you sure?" asked Dennis.

"Dennis, Honey, you don't have anything that I haven't seen before. I have given you baths and changed your diapers since the day you were born. So I have seen you nude. So get out of those clothes and go have some fun!" said Aunt Sara.

"I guess you know she just got you good. Just look how red you face is. I think you are rather cute when you are embarrassed," teased Terry.

"Just you wait your turn is coming. We are waiting for you to strip. Aunt Sara, we are going to put on a show just for you!" Dennis relied.

"Oh, Goodie! I just hope Terry has a big one and makes it worth my time," giggled Aunt Sara. "I'm from Texas and everythin is big in Texas!"

"Now, look who is all red." Teased Dennis.

The four guys stripped and formed a line and started doing the can-can for Aunt Sara, who was clapping and whistling. Uncle Jeff was laughing so hard he almost fell off his chair.

"I forgot to tell you not to try to get the best of Aunt Sara. She always comes out winner." Jim said.

Unnoticed by everyone, a small crowd had gathered and when the guys finished their dance, they all started clapping and hollowing "More, more, more".

"Sorry, this one was free. The next one will cost you." Jim informed the crowd.

"Where do I pay?" shouted Aunt Sara. Now every one was laughing and really carrying on.

"See I told you that Aunt Sara always comes out winner." Jim said.

"I can't take anymore excitement. Why don't ya'll get out of here and go have some fun. I need a little rest," Uncle Jeff said laughing.

So this started two weeks of fun. All too soon it was time to leave. The little party split into two groups and went their separate ways. Jim, Aunt Sara and Uncle Jeff headed for Texas. Terry, Kyle and Dennis headed home to Oregon.

On the plane home, the guys had plenty of time for talking and visiting. "Terry, you appear to be very relaxed. I think this little trip has done wonders for you. You have a nice tan and a glow all around you. Do you think you need to go to counseling after we get home?" asked Kyle.

"Kyle, you and Dennis are the best counselors in the whole country. You have managed to change my attitude and emotions completely. Sure, I still think about Stan occasionally and I probably always will. I can at least control myself and look toward the future. Thanks guys! You were great," Terry said patting each guy on the knee. "I know that someday, I will meet Mr. Right. So until I do, I'll just hang out with the two best looking studs west of the Mississippi."

"Thanks, Terry. You can count on us to meddle and try to hook you up with a big, ugly gorilla," Kyle remarked. "We had better change the subject. The hostesses are headed our way with a cart of food and drinks."
