Disclaimer: The following is a work of fiction. Any resemblance to persons alive or dead is coincidental. The venue is fictional and any resemblance to actual bases, locations, is coincidental.
This story takes place in 1976 Canada and reflects the mores, traditions, customs, etc., of the times. I urge all of those who read this story to remember that what is "politically correct" today, was not thought of back then. If you are Lib-Left, politically correct and have jumped on the bandwagons of whatever causes are the fads of the month, please do not continue past this point. This also applies the so-called "Religious" Right and "Moral" Majority. I respectfully remind you that the "Good Book" also contains proscriptions, restrictions, do's and don'ts that I don't see or hear any of you thumping bibles about. Write me, I'll be glad to give you some excellent web sites. To all the anti-this and anti-that, Bible Thumpers, Libertarians and the ACLU, the bankrupt and increasingly irrelevant United Nations, please do not send me e-mails espousing whatever cause you're touting. I have no time for claptrap.
As this work contains scenes of explicit sexual acts of a homosexual nature, if such erotica offends you, please move on to a tamer site. If your mainstay in life is Bible-thumping cant, please move on. If you are not of legal age to read, possess or download writings of an erotic nature, or if possession, reading, etc., is illegal where you live, please move on.
This story is written in an age without worry, and as such unprotected sex is practiced exclusively. I urge all of you to NEVER engage in sexual acts without proper protection. The life you save will be your own.
I will respond to all e-mails (except flames).
On a personal note, I would like to thank Peter, my editor, for her yeoman service. This Cast of Character (in more ways than one)would not have been written without his help, support, and encouragement.
The contract for The Phantom Of Aurora has been signed. I am now editing it to confirm to the publisher's style guide. No text has been changed. I am also looking for a decent picture to put on the back of the book - anyone out there with a picture of sailors (Canadian preferred) in the old blue rig? Perhaps a ship? Remember, if you send it, and I use it, I need your permission to use it. No royalties, but lots of exposure (I hope).

ACCOMMODATION
The Cadets are housed in 10 Barracks, the first 8 of which are located in what eventually became known as the Upper Camp. These barracks are grouped in "H" Blocks, that is, two barracks blocks joined by a central block containing heads, washplace, storage rooms, etc. These barracks are as follows:
Barracks 1 Cooks Barracks 2 Storekeepers and Signalmen
Barracks 3 The Bugle Band Barracks 4 Musicians and Drummers (The Band)
Barracks 5 New Entry Cadets (The Sea Puppies) Barracks 6 General Training Cadets
Barracks 7 Boatswains Barracks 8 Gunners
Senior Cadets are housed in a separate Staff Barracks. This barracks, formerly the Wardroom, contains the Chiefs and Petty Officers Mess (Tyler and Val's quarters), the Gunroom, and the Petty Officers Mess (where Little Big Man lives). This is known as Barracks 9.
Barracks 10 is a separate additional barracks housing Engineering Cadets and Carpenters. Medical Assistants would also be housed in this barracks.
Officers not living ashore are housed in the Wardroom, a new building that replaced the old Wardroom (now the Staff Barracks).
Many of the Cadet Corps listed do not exist. Some are named after RN and RCN ships, stations or dockyards. RCSCC MALTA, GC does not exist. "GC" stands for George Cross, which is the civilian equivalent of the Victoria Cross. The late King George VI authorized the medal and the first medal was awarded to the people of the island of Malta, for their heroism during World War II.
