Chapter 11
Sometime during the night Tyler felt the bed shaking and someone crawling in. Tyler knew it had to be Jeff because Christian was spooned against Tyler's back and still asleep. "You okay kiddo?" He asked whispering to Jeff so not to awaken Christian.
"No." Jeff answered on the verge of tears. "I'm scared about tomorrow. I don't want them to take me away from here. I want to stay here with you and Christian." He then added in a scared pleading way. "Please don't let them take me?"
Tyler pulled Jeff close to him. "Jeff, no one is going to take you away." He tried to assure him. "We'll go to my office, I'll sign some papers to take care of you, and I'll bring you home at the end of the day." Tyler really didn't think it would happen that easily but he had to reassure Jeff.
Jeff believed Tyler but Tyler could tell he was still nervous. Tyler wrapped Jeff in his arms and held on tight. "Try to get some sleep." Tyler comforted him. Five minutes later, he felt Jeff relax in his arms and knew he had fallen asleep. Tyler soon joined him.
The next morning when the alarm went off, Tyler felt like he had just fallen asleep. He struggled to open his eyes; he was so tired. Christian woke up faster than Tyler did and reached over to turn the alarm off. When Christian settled back down, he saw Jeff in bed with them and asked in a whisper manner.
"Did the little man get scared about being in a strange bed last night?"
"No." Tyler answered in the same whispered manner as Christian. "He's just nervous about what will happen today. He's afraid they'll take him away from us and needed some comforting and crawled in the bed last night."
Christian leaned down to kiss Tyler. "I'm nervous myself. And I know you are too." He stated looking into Tyler's eyes. Christian was letting Tyler know that he is getting good at learning Tyler's different emotions. Now if I can only get you to open up to me about your life in the orphanage. Christian thought but didn't voice it out loud.
Damn. Soon it'll probably be hard to hide my emotions from him. Tyler thought to himself. "Yes, I feel we have a fight on our hands." Tyler confirmed. "Let him sleep while we shower and dress." Christian said okay and they carefully climbed out of bed and headed for the bathroom. When they finished showering and dressing, Tyler woke up Jeff. "It's time to get up kiddo."
When Jeff's eyes fluttered open, he saw Tyler and Christian smiling down at him. He smiled sleepily at them and stretched his arms over his head."Good morning Tyler and Christian."
"Why don't you take a shower while I lay out your clothes?" Christian suggested. "Then we'll go down stairs and have some breakfast before we head out."
Jeff nodded his head and they headed for Jeff's room while Tyler went to the wall safe Tyler had hidden behind some shelves in the cellar of his basement and pulled out two thousand dollars then put them in his pocket before heading for the kitchen to start breakfast.
Travis had just woken up with Kevin still wrapped in his arms. He propped himself up on his elbow and stared down into Kevin's face. He so gorgeous. He thought to himself as he watched Kevin sleeping peacefully. I don't know why, but I seem to sleep better now when he's snuggled in my arms. It's like I'm finally home and never want to leave again.
Travis leaned down and gave Kevin a soft kiss on the cheek so it wouldn't awaken him. The jester still woke Kevin, and he turned his head to kiss Travis on the lips. It didn't take long for the kiss to get deeper but only lasted a few seconds. "How about we take a shower?" Travis asked. "I need to head to work soon."
Kevin gave Travis another kiss on the lips. "Okay." He agreed. They got out of bed and headed for the shower. While showering, Kevin asked Travis if he had time to have lunch with him today. Travis said he did and asked Kevin to meet him at a local sandwich shop near his base at twelve thirty. Kevin said he will and they finished their shower and got dressed.
In the kitchen, Tyler had just added some chopped onions to the mixture and was chopping some mushrooms for the scramble eggs when Christian and Jeff walked in. Christian started to fry the bacon while Tyler finished the eggs. When the eggs and bacon were done, Tyler started on the toast while Christian helped Jeff with setting the table. Tyler used raisin bread for the toast because he figure Jeff would like them better.
Once everything was done, they sat down to eat. Soon after, the others walked in and helped themselves to the breakfast. While they were eating, Tyler turned on the TV to catch up on the news. He mainly wanted to see the development on Jeff's mother or the Cindy Campbell scandals. Fortunately or unfortunately there wasn't anything on either subject.
As Tyler was sitting there, he could hear Christian talking to Jeff. Christian was trying to assure Jeff that everything will be okay and about his meeting this morning. "So, if this guy stops talking long enough to sign the contract I can join you guys for lunch."
"Don't you have to be on base today?" Jeff asked but everyone could tell that he hope Christian can join them for lunch. "You won't get in any trouble, will you?"
"Oh, I do. But that's no problem. I just have to do some paper work after lunch." Christian answered. "Right now we have to get going or we'll be late for work." They started to get up and clear the table.
"I'll head out with you guys. I need to get to work too." Travis said. He then turned to Kevin. "I'll see you at twelve thirty for lunch, okay?" He then told Kevin the address of the sandwich shop of where they were to meet.
"You bet you will!" Kevin agreed with a smile. He then gave Travis a kiss before Travis got up from the table with the others. Christian couldn't help smiling for the two. He never had seen Travis so happy.
After clearing the table and loading the dishwasher, they all left for their receptive jobs. Kevin stayed to finish his breakfast. When Tyler and Christian arrived at Tyler's company, Christian kissed Tyler goodbye before Tyler and Jeff got out of the car and Christian drove away.
Jeff grabbed Tyler's hand as they walked into the building and held on tight. They said good morning to everyone in the lobby and headed for the elevators where they met up with Carlos and Mark who had parked their truck in the underground garage. On the way up to Tyler's floor, Jeff squeezed Tyler's hand. The poor kid was so scared. Tyler tried to calm Jeff down but nothing he said seemed to work. Tyler couldn't blame him because he would be scared too if he was in Jeff's shoes.
When they reached Tyler's floor, they got off and headed for Tyler's office. When they got to the door, Jeff froze. Carlos and Mark went inside giving Jeff a comforting pat on the back as they went past while Tyler gave Mark his briefcase and stayed to comfort Jeff. He wrapped Jeff in his arms and hugged him tight. Tyler could feel Jeff's body shaking with sobs and knew he was crying. Tyler just held on and let him get it all out. Once Jeff stopped crying, Tyler took his hand and they went inside.
At his new store in the mall, Christian was sitting behind his desk in the office doing some paper work. Around nine thirty, there was a knock on his door. Christian looked up to see one of his employees standing there. "Excuse me sir. There's a Mr. Clarkson waiting to see you. He says he has an appointment."
"Yes he does." Christian confirmed. "Send him in please? And make sure there's no interruption unless there's an emergency. And it damn well better be an emergency that none of you can't handle."
"Yes sir." The employee said. He stepped out and returned a minute with a middle age man dressed in a navy blue business suit. "It's nice to meet you Mr. Michaels." Mr. Clarkson extended his hand for Christian to shake. "I'm Andrew Clarkson from Clarkson Fashions."
Christian shook the offered hand. "It's nice to meet you too Mr. Clarkson. Won't you please have a seat and we'll discuss your products and see if we can negotiate a deal."
"Thank you." Mr. Clarkson said. When the two sat down, he began his sales pitch on Christian. "Clarkson Fashions is relatively a new company. We've been in business for six months now and produces swim and night wear for men."
Christian nodded. "I see." Was his short reply before asking. "Just how are they different from other products that are on the market now? And seem to be selling very well too."
"Well, our night wear comes in sets or singles in various colors, and are made of pure silk." Mr. Clarkson answered. "For example, when you purchase the robe, you can also purchase the boxers, briefs, or pajamas with it. Or you can purchase each item separately. In addition, you can purchase all those items as one set. Same with our swim wear. The Speedos come with a matching jacket and shorts set. The jacket is made of nylon."
"I understand." Christian rebutted. "But I still don't see the difference between your products and the other products that's already on the market now." He indicated he needed more information to close the deal.
"Our merchandise is custom design to show off your best access as well as keeping everything where they should be." Mr. Clarkson retorted. "In the case of our briefs and swim wear, they keep your family jewels up front. Rather than having you sit on them every time you sit down."
Christian took a moment to gather his thoughts. He was sure the products will sell but doesn't want to be in debt if they don't. "Tell you what I'll do." Christian started. "I'll order enough inventory for two of my stores that will last six months. If the merchandise sells well, then I will order more. If they don't sell, then you refund me for the inventory that's left on the shelves."
Mr. Clarkson considered the offer he was given. What did he have to lose? He was sure his products would be a big hit. "I guess that's fair enough." Mr. Clarkson agreed. "Once the company starts bringing in the money, I plan to advertise the products to draw in a bigger group of clientele."
An idea popped into Christian's head. "I may be able to help with that." Mr. Clarkson copped an eyebrow as to say go on. "Do you know Tyler Jackson the model?" All Mr. Clarkson responded with was who doesn't? "Tyler Jackson is a good friend of mine who's doing a project with the marines. I can get him to advertise your products in his calendars, if you like?"
There was no need for any hesitation. "Thank you. That will be great." Mr. Clarkson agreed enthusiastically. "If a major model like Tyler Jackson is wearing the products, then my list of clientele will definitely increase."
Christian agreed. The two men continued their meeting, airing out all the details to get the products moving. When the meeting was over, Mr. Clarkson took his leave with the promise to have the merchandise shipped to Christian by tomorrow. He should have them within four days. Once he was gone, Christian went back to his paper work.
When Tyler walked in the door of his office, Janet looked up and smiled. "Good morning Tyler. How was your vacation?" She asked him.
"Good morning Janet." Tyler replied. "My vacation was nice and very relaxing, thank you." Janet said she was glad to hear that. "I'm expecting someone from child protection services and a policeman to discuss some important matters this morning."
"Yes, a Mrs. Nichole Dunbar and an Officer Joseph Black are waiting for you." Janet confirmed. "They're sitting right behind you."
Tyler turned around to greet his guess. "Mr. Jackson, I'm Jeffrey case worker." Mrs. Dunbar said coming up to him. Tyler couldn't help catching the disgust in her voice as she talked. "He's been with you all weekend, and all the clothes he has are the ones he's wearing?" She asked sarcastically.
"Of course it's not! He has a whole new wardrobe at home." Tyler replied back just as sarcastically as Mrs. Dunbar. "You don't really think I would lug around a whole new wardrobe set, do you?" He asked, still with a hint of sarcasm.
Mrs. Dunbar was speechless for a minute. She didn't like the way Tyler was talking to her but she'll deal with that later. Right now she thought she needs to get the kid away from the homo. "Well, we have to get those later, but now we have to go." She announced.
"What are you talking about? Jeff is coming home with me." Tyler tried to hide his shock and anger but it was starting to come out in his voice. Not a good sign!
Mrs. Dunbar looked at Tyler coldly and spoke in an icy voice. "No, we're placing him in a good Christian home. One that will raise him properly and give him the right up bringing he needs."
Tyler looked at her suspiciously. He can smell a rat but couldn't place the smell as of yet. At that time a man walked through the door and walked over to them. "Mr. Jackson, I'm John Baily from Scanner & Associates." Mr. Baily said, introducing himself. Now Tyler was getting confuse. Where the hell was Scanner? What the hell was going on here?
"Where the hell is Scanner?" Tyler asked, getting even angrier but still keeping his hostility in check. "He knew what was going on this morning. Why isn't he here?"
"Yes he knows." Mr. Baily replied. "Unfortunately he was called into emergency court early this morning on an important case so he asked me to come in his place to represent you."
Tyler looked at Mrs. Dunbar with suspicious eyes. Shit... This doesn't look good. He thought. He turned back to Mr. Baily. "I hope you know what you're doing because this woman is trying to take my son away." Tyler let his attentions be known how he feels about Jeff; Tyler and Christian now thought of Jeff as their son.
"He's not your son and he's going to be raise by proper people. People that can keep him on the task of the straight and narrow." Mrs. Dunbar spoke in a condescending voice.
John Baily took that time to finally speak up. "Look lady, this was all arrange by your boss. I'm sure you don't want to fight with Mr. Jackson. Because believe me, in the end you won't win."
"My boss didn't know what kind of life style Mr. Jackson is living when she made that decision, now he does." Mrs. Dunbar said, still with a condescending attitude. "Jeff is coming with me. If you try to stop me, I'll have you arrested and hauled off to jail."
Jeff squeezed Tyler's hand tightly, the poor kid was terrified. He pulled Tyler's head down to whisper in his ear. "Tyler, don't get in trouble please? She's going to take me. No matter what anyone says, she's going to take me."
"Jeff, I'm not going to get in trouble and she's not taking you anywhere." Tyler tried to reassure Jeff. But Jeff didn't believe it. "Chris and I made a promise to take care of you. And that's a promise we're going to keep."
Tyler could hear Mr. Baily and Mrs. Dunbar arguing, suddenly Mrs. Dunbar said sternly. "I have the papers that say Jeff is to be place with a loving couple that CPS has selected." Then she pulled out some papers from her briefcase and handed them to John Baily. Then she turned to the officer while Mr. Baily was looking over the papers. "Make them cooperate or arrest them."
"Listen dear." Janet cut in. "You're not going to find anyone better to raise the little boy than Tyler. He's loving, intelligent, successful, and a good person. Any child would love to have a parent like Tyler Jackson."
"The name's not dear, it's Mrs. Dunbar." Mrs. Dunbar said coldly but it didn't scare Janet. Janet just stared at Mrs. Dunbar with a look that says so what? "It's apparent he can't take care of a child due to his disability, not to mention his immoral life style." Then turning to the officer, she said. "Do your job officer."
"Please give me a chance to say goodbye Officer Black?" Tyler asked the officer. He hated it, but he knew he couldn't stop what was happening. He'll need to find out what is going on first. Then he can take action against the perpetrators. "You can come in if you like. I just want to make sure he's alright before he leaves."
"He's not to be alone with the child." Mrs. Dunbar said accusingly. Trying to show she was in charge of the situation. "There's no telling what he'll do when he's alone with him. People like him love little boys."
"We're on the twentieth floor lady. We won't be jumping out of windows. And I would never hurt a child! I can't say the same for the cold heartless bitch that's standing in front of me now!" The cold arrogance tone in Tyler's voice did not go unnoticed by anyone. "You may come in if you want Officer Black. But I really need to make sure my son will be okay."
"You got five minutes, okay?" Officer Black said sympathetically. He hated to see what was happening, but he had a job to do. Even when that job seems to be unfair sometimes.
"Thank you. That's all the time we need." Tyler said appreciably to the officer as he led Jeff into his office. "Can you get Jeff some orange juice for me, please Janet?" He called over his shoulder.
"Sure boss." Janet replied. "Coming right up." Then she asked the others. "Would anyone else like anything?" Everyone except Mrs. Dunbar said no thank you. Mrs. Dunbar said nothing.
On base, Travis was doing double duty with keeping an eye on Troy while doing his work also. At one point when he stepped out of his office to use the bathroom, he saw Troy talking to a couple of people while trying not to make it seem obvious. Travis figured he had to find out what the conversation was about and continued to the restroom.
On his way back to his office, Christine Summers, one of his coworkers, stopped to talk to him. "What's going on Travis? Why does Troy Blackman have a grudge against Tyler Jackson?" She asked. "I didn't know he even knew Tyler Jackson."
"I don't know Christine." Travis said noncommittally. "And no, he doesn't know Tyler Jackson. He never met the man. What lies is he trying to get everyone to believe now?"
"He's trying to get everyone to turn down Mr. Jackson offer to pose for his calendar." Christine informed him. "He's saying that Tyler Jackson wants to do a centerfold calendar and he wants everyone to pose nude for him for the calendar."
The anger in Travis was starting to rise. He couldn't believe that Troy would seek that low. "Don't worry about it Christine." He told her. "I'll tell Christian and he'll take care of it. He's in charge of the project."
"Okay, but he better do something before this gets out of hand." Travis agreed and the two separated. Travis wet back to his office. There was nothing he could do until he talks to Christian and Tyler about the whole situation.
When Tyler and Jeff walked into Tyler's office, they walked behind Tyler's desk. Tyler pulled out his chair and sat down. He wrote his and Christian's home, work, and cell phone numbers down on a piece of paper. Tyler then wrapped the two thousand dollars he took from his safe this morning up in the paper, not caring if Officer Black saw him, and handed it to Jeff.
"Keep this where no one can find it, okay?" Tyler told him, hugging him tight. "I promise Jeff, we're going to get you back. And when we do, I won't let anyone take you away again."
Jeff hugged Tyler back tightly and cried on his shoulder. Tyler just held him and let him cry it out. So what if they been in there longer then five minutes. His son was scared and Tyler wasn't going to let him go until he had cried it all out. In fact, Tyler wanted to cry himself but he knew he couldn't. He needed to stay strong for Jeff.
It took Jeff ten minutes to stop crying. Once he stopped, Tyler wiped the tears from his eyes. "Call me or Chris if you need anything, okay?" Tyler whispered to Jeff softly, still wiping the tears from his eyes.
Jeff nodded his head and they left Tyler's office. When they got back to the receptionist area, Janet gave Jeff the cup of orange juice to drink while Tyler spoke with Officer Black. "Hold his hand please Officer Black? He's really scared."
"I understand." Officer Black agreed compassionately. "No child should be taken from their loving home. No matter if the parents are gay or straight. They don't deserve to have their child taken away."
"He's going to a loving home." Mrs. Dunbar responded with her high and mighty attitude. "A proper home where he'll be raise properly and normally."
Tyler looked at her with cold and threatening eyes. "Your bigoted attitude doesn't faze me lady." Then with a sinister smirk, he said. "You're going to lose this war. Count on it." By the time Tyler had finished, he was giving off the most evil smile Mrs. Dunbar had ever seen. It totally scared her. If looks could kill, she would had dropped dead right there.
Mrs. Dunbar stormed out with an angry scowl. Jeff and Officer Black followed behind her giggling. Well, Officer Black was giggling, Jeff was too scared to say anything. He looked over his shoulder at Tyler with terrified eyes. Tyler couldn't see the look. But he sure as hell could feel it! Everyone else saw the look though, and it broke their heart.
"Follow them Carlos and Mark. I want to know where she's taking Jeff and what kind of people they are." Tyler said to his security. Carlos and Mark rushed out to catch up with Mrs. Dunbar and the officer as Tyler turned to Mr. Baily. "Get Scanner over here now!" He shouted before walking into his office and slamming the door. Tyler was angry and he needed to calm down.
After his meeting with Mr. Clarkson and finishing his paper work, Christian went over his employee's files. He still needed to hire a day and night time manager for the new store. One file caught his eye for the night time manager but Christian had some reservation about it. It not that the kid wasn't right for the job, it was because of who is father is. Christian couldn't stand the man!
Not wanting to stir up any trouble for himself, but wanting to give the kid a chance, Christian went out to call the kid into his office. "Danny, can I see you in my office please?"
Danny turned around to see Christian standing there. "Sure Mr. Michaels." He said, but was actually thinking. Here we go again. He figured out who my father is. Canny (Daniel) Carson always loses his job when his employer finds out who his father is, so when Christian called him into his office, Danny knew he was going to lose another job.
Danny wishes he could take his brother and disappear but he knew that wasn't possible. He doesn't make enough money to support himself and his brother, so he's stuck where he is. But he hopes one day he will be able to get away from his parents and his house.
Hesitantly Danny followed Christian into his office. "Have a seat please?" Christian asked as he closed the door behind them. Once Christian had taken his seat behind the desk, he started the discussion on why he called Danny into his office. "Danny, I'd looked over your file and I know who you are." Danny just nodded, waiting for the termination. Christian could see Danny was expecting bad news and set his mind to ease. "Don't worry Danny; I'm not going to hold that against you. In fact, I want to offer you the position of night manager. I would offer you the day manager position but I know you will be starting school again soon."
To say Danny was surprised was putting it mildly. He was totally flabbergasted. "Are you sure sir?" Danny asked in surprise. "I mean all my former employers always fired me when they find out who my father is. You know it can lead to trouble for you if he finds out where I'm working, don't you?"
"Yes Danny, I do." Christian said confidently. "I don't judge my employees on who they're related to. I judge them on their performance. From what your file says and observing you work, I believe you'll do well as night manager. As far as your father goes, I'll deal with that when or if it occurs."
Danny couldn't believe it. Here was someone willing to stand up to his father to do what's right for his business and not back down like his other bosses had. "I'd like to accept the job sir. But I don't want to cause any trouble for your business. And my father probably would make a lot of trouble for you."
"I'm not a push over Danny." Christian replied. "If I have to fight fire with fire, then I will. I won't let anyone destroy my business. I learn that from a good friend of mine." He added with a smile, Thinking of Tyler.
"Well in that case, I accept the job." Danny smiled before becoming somber again. "But I need to let you know, I take care of my little brother and may need to bring him to work with me sometimes, but he won't cause any trouble."
"That's okay, I don't mind." Christian said, easing Danny's mind. "As long as he doesn't interfere with your work, you're welcome to bring him. He can sit in the office and do his homework while you're working."
"Thank you for giving me a chance to prove myself." Danny said with genuine gratitude. "No one had ever done that for me once they found out who my father is. They were always afraid he would cause them too much trouble for their business."
"You're welcome." Christian replied with a warm smile. "Now get back to work. You need to learn more managerial skills and inform everyone who's in charge. Until school starts or I find a day manager, you're in charge of both shifts. Your managerial training will start tomorrow."
Danny couldn't stop smiling. "Yes sir." Even as he went back to work, the smile never left his face. Christian felt good about his decision on giving this kid a chance to prove himself. He could tell Danny was nothing like his father. Christian could tell something else about Danny. Something that Danny is keeping to himself.
While following Mrs. Dunbar, Carlos and Mark discussed what happened at Tyler's office. Neither guy had ever seen Tyler so angry then he was this morning. Tyler looked like he could have strangled Mrs. Dunbar with his bare hands but was holding himself back. As they were following along but staying well hidden, Mark noticed that Mrs. Dunbar was heading for the low class part of town. "Why the hell would she bring him here?" Mark asked Carlos shocked.
"I don't know but it can't be good for Jeff." Carlos answered just as shock as Mark. "Something tells me this whole situation in not on the up and up." They continued to follow until Mrs. Dunbar parked in front of a pale gray house.
Carlos stopped several houses down on the other side of the street. This way they wouldn't be seen and they could watch what was going on. They watched as the social worker got out and walked around to the other side of the car. She opened the door and pulled Jeff from the car before walking up to the house. Carlos and Mark could see Jeff was still scared but followed Mrs. Dunbar to the door.
Mrs. Dunbar rang the bell about four times before the door was answered. A man in his mid to late twenty stepped out and hugged her, wearing nothing but a pair of boxers. From what the two could tell, the guy was about five eleven, short black hair and brown eyes, and muscularly built with a bit of a beer belly. It was obvious the guy knew the social worker.
The man stepped aside and invited them in the house but Jeff was reluctant to go in. When Jeff didn't move, he put his arm around Jeff's shoulders and gently forced him inside. Carlos and Mark looked at each other and simultaneously said. "Tyler isn't going to like this."
While waiting, Mark wrote down the address of the house. Fifteen minutes had past before the door opened and Mrs. Dunbar stepped out. Carlos waited until she was in her car and the door was shut before starting the SUV. They followed her again, but this time she was going to the police station. Figuring she was taking care of another juvenile case, Carlos and Mark drove back to Tyler's office after getting some lunch.
Back at the corporation, Tyler had just sat down at his desk and took a couple of deep breaths. Once he was calm enough to think clearly, he started working. Tyler contacted his real estate agent for some information on Karmyn Place.
It turns out the owner Bill (William) Johnson is looking to sale and retire. The property is worth seven hundred fifty thousand dollars. That includes the restaurant and land. Tyler told his realtor to offer him a million dollars through Néné Incorporated and how transfer of the money should be accepted. Tyler also informed him to make sure Mr. Johnson knows this is a one time offer. "Get back to me when you get a decision." Tyler concluded.
"I'll let you know what Mr. Johnson decision is once I have it Tyler. It shouldn't take long to negotiate a deal. Mr. Johnson had been looking to sell for a while. You take care." Rick said before hanging up the phone.
Tyler next call was to Martin Willis, head of his accounting department. Tyler needed to know how much his corporation is worth now. Martin said he just finished the books and the corporation is now worth one hundred million five hundred thousand. Ten million of that were profits from the last six months from both the club and agency. Wow! I didn't know my business had accumulated that much. He thought to himself. That takes some of the worries from Tyler mind. Tyler told Martin he was in the process of buying a restaurant and to expect a new account soon.
Before they hung up, Martin said he knew of a company that was selling one of their state of the arts corporate jets. He just had the information delivered to Janet so he should be getting it shortly. Tyler thanked him for the potential deal before ending the call.
An hour later, Tyler was setting the date for the next model search when Ms. Green came into his office. "I have the reports on the plane for you Tyler." She said as she sat down.
"Good. Tell me about it?" Tyler asked as a reply and Janet was off telling him about the plane.
It's a 747 turbo engine jet fully staff with two pilots and two flight attendants. The lower deck seats twenty with soft leather seats. Two fully equipped offices at the rear plus a full size kitchen in front by the cockpit. There are four large dark rich wood tables, two on each side, between the kitchen and seating area. Two half bathrooms are situated before the offices.
The upper deck has six bedrooms fully equipped. With full size beds, built in entertainment system, satellite television, PS3, stereo system, and VCR and DVD player. There are also two bathrooms complete with showers. Obviously this plane was designed to the owner's satisfaction.
"How much is it?" Tyler asked once Janet was finished giving him the information. "It sounds like it cost more than my house did. And that's cost a fortune."
"It's forty million. That includes everything in the hangar, test equipments, and office stuff." Ms. Green replied. "The hangar rental is ten grand a month plus insurance and other things. It'll be about two hundred thousand a year."
Tyler did a fast calculation in his mind before speaking. "Find out who we transfer the money to and make sure everything is done under Néné Incorporated." Tyler said. "Also find out if Justin had met with Joshua Williams yet."
"You got it boss!" Janet said as she rose to leave. "I'll get right on it. Anything else I can do for you before I go to lunch?"
"Yes. Call Scanner and tell him to get his ass over here now!" Tyler growled angrily as she walked out and closed the door behind her.
Once the door was closed, Tyler pulled out his cell and called Christian. He couldn't put it off any longer; Christian had to know what happened. When Christian heard his cell ringing, he looked at the caller ID and saw it was Tyler and answered the call. "Hi baby." He greeted. "Hi yourself." Tyler returned the greeting. Once the pleasantry was exchanged, Tyler explained everything to him. This just infuriated Christian. He kept going on about how he's going to make Ms. Dunbar pay and no one calls him improper and unfit to raise a child because he chose to love a man.
"Chris, I agree with you but we have to figure out a way to get our son back." Tyler said, interrupting Christian tirade. Tyler had to calm Christian down before he popped the buttons on his uniform shirt.
"You have a plan?" Christian asked. He was hoping Tyler was putting his devious mind to work. "We can't just let her get away with this bull shit. And that's all it is, just bull shit."
"Not at the moment, but I think someone else is behind this." Tyler said. "When I find out who that is, I'm going to destroy them so bad, they'll be pulling my foot out of their ass for a week! No one, and I mean no one, takes my son away from me!"
"No you won't!" Christian shouted. That surprised Tyler because Christian said he wanted to raise Jeff with him but before Tyler could say anything, Christian continue. "We're going to destroy them. We're in this together. No one takes our son away from us!"
That made Tyler smile and he replied. "Once I talk with Scanner and find out what the hell went wrong, we can retaliate. But there's nothing we can do until then, except wait."
"Tell Scanner if he doesn't get his ass in gear, he'll have me to deal with!" Christian said in a serious but deadly tone. "And I'm angry enough to blow up somebody car!"
"Oh, I'll be sure to tell him for us both." The tone in Tyler's voice was just as angry as Christian. "Sorry I can't meet you for lunch but I'm waiting for Scanner's arrival. I know he better get his ass over here before I get even more pissed."
"How about I go to the base and pick up my paper work, pick up some lunch, and come to your office?" Christian asked. "I want to be there for the meeting. I want Scanner to see the anger on my face so he knows how serious we really are."
"Okay, see you then hot stuff." This time the tone in Tyler's voice was tantalizing that sent shivers up Christian spine. Tyler knew he had to say something to get Christian to smile. And smile Christian did. That smile always gives Tyler strength.
"I'll be there in thirty minutes sexy boy." This time the tone in Christian's voice was filled with excitement. Christian still can't believe how Tyler can always make him smile no matter what's causing trouble for Tyler.
When Christian hung up from talking with Tyler, he locked up the office and left the store. On his way out, Christian made sure Danny knew to lock up the registers and the store at closing time. When Christian arrived on base, he went straight to his office.
When he reached his office, Christian gather his paper work he needed to do and placed them in his briefcase with the papers from his stores. As he was closing the briefcase, Travis knocked on the door. "Yo bro, I need to talk to you before you leave."
"Sure, come on in." Christian said. "But make it quick. I'm having lunch with Ty at his office so we can meet with his lawyer to discuss the situation over Jeff."
Travis came in and closed the door. "Why are you talking with Tyler's lawyer? I thought everything was arranged with regarding Jeff." Christian told Travis everything that happened this morning and how he and Tyler are angry over it. "Well, I guess someone is aching for an ass kicking by Tyler Jackson."
"Yeah." Christian agreed. "But they better hope I'll get to them first because I don't think I'll be able to hold Ty back. They brought an innocent child in it after all! They hurt our son, and that's something we can't condone."
Listening to Christian talk and seeing how angry he is, Travis decided not to tell Christian about Troy just yet. Instead he decided to wait until Christian and Tyler are both in a better mood. The way Christian is talking, he's likely to rip Troy to pieces. Tyler too for that matter. "I won't keep you. I just wanted to see how everything went today." Travis lied.
"Thanks for being a great friend man." Christian gave his best friend a brotherly hug. "I better get out of here and you need to get going to meet Kevin. Don't keep him waiting. I'll see you at home, okay?"
Travis hugged his best friend back and held it for a minute. "Sure bro." He cooed softly before breaking the hug. "Give me a minute and I'll walk out with you."
"Sure bro. I'll wait for you at the elevators." The two walked out of the office and Christian locked the door behind them. Christian went to the elevators while Travis went to his office to get his things and lock it. By the time Travis reached the elevators, the door was just opening. They stepped on and rode the elevator down to the lobby.
When the elevator opened on the bottom floor, they stepped out and headed to their cars which were fortunately parked next to each other. About two feet away they used the remote on their key ring to turn off the alarm and unlock the doors. Before getting in their cars, Travis asked Christian. "What are you and Tyler going to do about Jeff?"
"There's not anything we can do until we know what happen with social services." Christian was still trying to keep his anger under control which Travis could see. "Once we find out who's behind this, they better be on guard because I'm not sure if I can keep Ty from going after them. And I'm not sure if I want to anyway."
"Well, who ever is doing this is playing with fire." Travis smirked. "And Tyler will most likely burn them badly with that fire. I'm talking second degree burns."
"God I hope not!" Christian sighed. He can see Tyler doing just that. "I really don't want to get burn by trying to take the match away from him." Travis laughed but he could see Christian was deadly serious. "Let me get to Ty office. I still have to pick up the pizza."
"I better get to the sandwich shop myself. I'm sure Kevin's already there waiting for me." Travis couldn't help smiling when he said that. "Oh well, I'll just have to make it up to him some how." He added still smiling.
"I'm sure it won't take you long to find a way." Christian teased. Travis laughed but agreed. They said goodbye and got into their car and drove to their destination. On the way, Christian stopped at Pizza Hut and picked up the large meat lovers pizza he ordered over his cell phone while driving.
After talking to Christian, Tyler went back to work. Sure enough, Christian was at Tyler's office in thirty minutes when Tyler's secretary buzzed him of Christian's arrival. "Send him in Janet."
"Yes sir." Janet answered. "I'm off to lunch now." She finished as Christian walked in the office, closing the door behind him.
He walked up and leaned over the desk to kiss Tyler. "What did you get?" Tyler asked after Christian kissed him hello. "I hope its something good because I'm starving like a man on a water diet in the middle of a desert."
"I got a large meat lover's pizza and two diet cokes." Christian answered as he pulled up a chair and sat the items on the desk. "It should be enough to fill both of us up. If it doesn't, I'll run out and get some ice cream."
They discussed what to do about Jeff while they ate. Tyler told Christian that he wanted to see what Scanner had come up with but Tyler had a feeling Cindy Campbell was involved in this. He just didn't know how. If she is, then Tyler will have to take her down permanently. Christian suggested that they trail her and Mrs. Dunbar to find any dirt they can use against them. Tyler thought Christian had a good idea so he said he will have Janet call Mr. Chang when he gets the information on them. They discussed the situation in more detail but couldn't come up with anything because they haven't spoken with Scanner yet.
When they had finished eating, Tyler's secretary buzzed him to let them know Scanner had arrived. Tyler asked Janet to put him in the meeting room. Christian and Tyler cleared everything away and left for the meeting.
When Travis got to the sandwich shop, he saw that Kevin was indeed waiting for him. He parked the car and walked inside to scan the shop for him. Travis spotted Kevin sitting at a table in the back waving him over.
"What took you so long?" Kevin asked as soon as Travis reached the table. Travis explained everything Christian told him about Jeff. "Holy shit! Tyler must be really pissed."
"Yeah." Travis confirmed. "Who ever it is better watch out because Christian said he doesn't think he can keep Tyler from burning them with the fire they're playing with. And they're playing with very hot fire."
"Holy shit!" Kevin explained again. "I've seen Tyler angry before, but never that angry! I think we all better keep an eye on him for a while because I think the gloves are about to come off."
Travis agreed. "Well, let's go order our sandwiches. I have to be back on base in an hour. And I want to make out with you a little before I go." He added with a smile and wink.
They got up to order. "Then make sure you don't order any onions on your sandwich." Kevin laughed. "I'm not kissing you with onion breath!" He laughed harder which made Travis laugh too.
After receiving their orders, they went back to their table to eat. While they were eating, they discussed more on how to keep Tyler, and Christian for that matter, from running a muck. "I think Tyler can keep Christian from going off the handle." Travis said. "But Tyler is another story from what Christian said."
"I agree." Kevin replied. "Christian and Tyler already think of Jeff as their son. And you know how Tyler is when someone goes after his friends and/or family just to get to him. He goes crazy. And not only did they go after a family member, they went after his son."
"I know." Travis sighed heavily. He still remembers what Kevin told him about Tyler going after the culprits that hurts any of his friends and/or family with a vengeance. "He's going to lose all his humanity and go totally ape shit because they not only involved his son, they involved an innocent child just to get to him."
Kevin couldn't disagree with that. "Yeah." The two finished their lunch and got up to leave, throwing their trash away on the way out. When they left the restaurant, they walked to their cars which were parked next to each other on the far side of the parking lot facing away from the restaurant. When they reached the cars, they didn't get into Travis's car; instead they got into Kevin's car.
Once they were inside and the doors were locked, Travis pulled Kevin into a kiss. As the kiss became more passionate, Kevin climbed over onto the other seat and straddled Travis's lap. Luckily the windows were tented so they were hidden from anyone walking by. But just to make sure, Travis declined the seat.
The kiss lingered for several minutes with neither trying to be the dominant one. Travis was squeezing Kevin's ass which was turning Kevin on so much he started grinding against Travis's crotch. When the kiss was broken, Kevin looked down into Travis's eyes. "I missed you!" He then kissed Travis again.
When Kevin's lips met his again, they both let out a moan. Travis couldn't help it, he unbutton Kevin's jeans and slid his hands down the back to feel Kevin's round globes bare. "No underwear?" Travis asked in surprised.
Kevin unbuttoned and unzipped Travis's uniform pants before reaching in and pulling his dick out through the fly of his boxers. "Haven't you noticed when we wear jeans, we don't wear underwear?" Travis shook his head no. "Well we don't. None of us do."
"I guess I have to join in on the fun." Travis grinned. "But right now my mind is on something else." And he pulled Kevin down for another kiss as he pulled his pants below his butt. As the kiss continued, Travis slapped Kevin on the ass. Every time Travis slapped Kevin on the ass, Kevin would moan into Travis's mouth. Kevin would also squeeze Travis's dick harder which made Travis moan himself.
After ten minutes of making out, they reluctantly broke off. "I don't want to, but we need to stop. I need to get back to base. I can't be late." Travis chanted.
Kevin was chanting also. "I know but I really don't want to stop either." After a couple more deep breaths he added. "We'll just continue this at home later tonight."
Travis pulled Kevin's pants up and buttoned them. "Of course we will." He smiled. Kevin smiled back as he put Travis's dick back in his pants before buttoning and zipping them. He then moved back over to the driver seat before Travis kissed him again. "I'll see you after work, okay Kev?"
Kevin loves the affectionate way Travis shortened and says his name. "Okay Trav. I'll see you when you get home." He kissed Travis one more time before Travis got out of Kevin's car and into his own. They both pulled out of the parking lot and headed back to work with a smile on their faces.
When Carlos and Mark got back to Tyler's office, they saw that the door was close. Figuring Tyler was having a private conversation with Christian, the two sat down in the reception area. As they were waiting, Carlos saw Scanner waiting in the meeting room and pointed it out to Mark. "I hope he has a good excuse as to what happened this morning. Because if he doesn't have one, Tyler is likely to tear him from limb to limb."
"Christian is probably angry enough to do it himself also." Mark countered. The door to Tyler's office opened and Christian and Tyler walked out. Mark stopped them on the way to the meeting room. "We have the address to where Jeff was taken Tyler." Mark told them everything they found out with Carlos adding information that Mark had forgotten.
The more Tyler and Christian heard, the angrier they got. When Carlos and finished, it was Christian who spoke first. "Thanks guys. We'll get Mr. Chang on it once our meeting with Scanner is over."
"Try not to go over board you guys?" Mark asked gently.
"I'm not making any promises." Tyler answered bluntly. "And neither am I." Christian second it just as bluntly. Both Mark and Carlos could see they meant what they said and nodded in acceptance. Christian grabbed Tyler's hand and they walked to the meeting room to meet with Scanner.
When Tyler and Christian got to the meeting room, Scanner could see they weren't happy. He started introducing the lawyers he had brought with him to Christian and Tyler as they sat down. There were four men in all including John Bailey. The others were Rush young his top lawyer, Jack Martins, and Samuel Claymore.
Once everyone was introduced, Tyler asked Scanner in an angry voice. "What the hell happened this morning Scanner? I thought everything was arranged. Then I come in this morning expecting to sign some papers giving me custody of my son, only to have him taken from me!"
"Everything was arranged Tyler. We were double crossed." Scanner answered in a fearful voice. "I did some checking when I heard what happened and. Well, let's say you won't be surprise at the news."
"What did you find out?" Christian asked annoyed. "We need to know what the hell is going on so we can get our son back ASAP."
"Everything was set until this morning." Scanner explained. "Apparently Charlene called in with the flu and had to assign the case to her co-supervisor. Nichole Dunbar works under that supervisor, a Mr. Charles Brown and both are homophobic. When Charlene called in sick and asked Mr. Brown to take care of this case, she made it clear that you were to get guardianship of Jeff. Mr. Brown didn't know about your sexuality until he assigned the case to Nichole Dunbar. When he found that out he made sure that Mrs. Dunbar was to remove Jeff from your custody."
"What, a, surprise." Tyler said sarcastically. "But that doesn't explain how Nichole Dunbar knew about Chris and my relationship. How did that happen?"
"Oh, she found that out through a friend. But I'll let Rush Young tell you what he found out about Mrs. Nichole Dunbar." Scanner said before turning to Mr. Young. "Go ahead Rush. Tell them what you found out."
Rush Young could see that Christian's and Tyler's anger haven't calm down and carefully explained what he found out. "I thought the name Dunbar sounded familiar so I called my friend on the police force." Mr. Young began. "It seems that Nichole Dunbar husband is Sergeant Thomas Dunbar of the Las Angeles Police Department (LAPD). His best friend and partner on the force is Sergeant Alexander James." Clearly Mr. Young could see the annoyed look on their faces so he continued. "Here's where the part gets really interesting. Sergeant Alexander James has a girlfriend, and that girlfriend is none other than Cindy Campbell."
Tyler slammed his fist down on the table in anger. "That bitch!" he screamed. "I had a feeling she was behind this. Now that I know she is, I'm going to destroy her so bad no one will be able to recognize her."
"Yes. Now she's bringing an innocent little boy into her battle." Scanner said. "She obviously don't care who she hurts. It could have been anyone. Unfortunately it was an innocent child."
"We want all information on everyone, including Jeff's foster parents. We already have their address." Christian ordered. "We want to know their home addresses, work addresses, numbers, and any dirt you can come up with."
"We have two of the information already." Rush Young said, sliding two large envelopes over to Tyler. "The top one contains the Dunbar's information and the bottom contains Cindy Campbell and Alexander James information. We should have information on Jeff's foster parents this afternoon."
Tyler slid the envelopes over to Christian. "Scanner, I want you to set up a trust fund for Jeff." Tyler said. "I want this fund to be established and open. Chris and I will each put two million dollars in once it's open. Make sure no one can get their hands on it with out our signatures." Scanner agreed and Tyler continued in an evil voice. "We consider Jeff to be our son, and no one tries to use our son against me! I'm fighting fire with fire now!"
"There's one other thing."Scanner said. "We found out Mrs. Dunbar had been visiting Alexander James frequently after work before Cindy gets home and this been going on for a year and a half."
Tyler smiled wickedly at this. "She has a little boy right?" If this is going the way Tyler thinks it's going, he might have his trump card to get their son back.
"Yes." Scanner confirmed. "I'll let Samuel Claymore tell you." Turning to Samuel, he said. "Go ahead Samuel. What did you find out about Nichole Dunbar and Alexander James?"
"Well, Nichole Dunbar visits him once or twice a week and she's always gone before Cindy gets home." Mr. Claymore started. "So we did more checking with his neighbors. What we found out was not too surprising." He slid another envelope to Tyler which he handed to Christian also. "In there is your trump card. It can really destroy her personally and professionally if you use it carefully."
Tyler thanked them for the information and said he and Christian will get back to them. Christian and Tyler bid them a good day and went back to Tyler's office to go over everything. Once everything was read, Tyler contacted Mr. Chang to trail Ms. Campbell and Mrs. Dunbar. Tyler also stated that he wanted two men watching Jeff at all times.
"We can get our son back with this information but I feel there's more going on here." Christian speculated. "It just seems like there're some pieces missing from the puzzle."
"I agree. Let's wait and see what happens. We might be able to get Jeff back without totally destroying her life." Tyler replied. "I really don't want to do that unless I have to."
Christian agreed and they finished their work. The rest of the day went by uneventful. By the end of the day, they were caught up with everything. Once they finished, they said goodbye to Janet and headed for home dropping off Christian's paper work at the base. On the way to the base, Tyler suggested they make a stop at the hospital for a visit. Christian agreed, so they headed toward the hospital after stopping at the base.
Before going to the hospital though, they stopped at a local restaurant for some cheeseburgers and fries. After the four guys had finished eating, they drove to the hospital. It didn't take long for Christian to find a parking space because the parking lot was practically empty at this time of day. Fortunately there was an empty spot next to them so Carlos and Mark took that spot.
Tyler knew what room they were looking for so there was no need to stop at the information desk. Instead they walked directly to the elevators. When the door opened, they got on and Tyler pushed the button for the third floor and they rode the elevator up. When they got off on the third floor, they went directly to room 312.
"Tyler!" Someone called and ran up to hug Tyler tightly as they walked in the room. "I'm so glad you're here. She's been asking about you." Tyler recognized the voice and hugged the person back.
"How is she doing?" Tyler asked when the hug was broken. "She's not in any pain is she?"
"No. She's doing fine, although she's been drifting in and out of consciousness." The man answered exhaustedly. "The doctor's got her on some medication to keep the pain at a minimum. I think she needs to hear your voice to keep fighting."
"Of course I will." Tyler agreed compassionately. Tyler walked up to the bed, took her right hand in his, and gave it a kiss and gentle squeeze. "Hey there..."
To Be Continued...
Writer's Corner:
Welcome back one and all to another chapter of Best Friends. I hope you'd enjoyed reading this chapter as much as I did writing it. Now let's get to the summary of this chapter.
First I must apologize for the time between chapters. There's been a problem with the website receiving this chapter and was just recently cleared up. Again, please accept my apology.
In this chapter we started off with Tyler and Christian waking up the next morning and Christian finding Jeff in bed with them. Jeff is a scared little boy who's life had been turned upside down and feels like he can only find safety in Tyler's and Christian's embrace.
During the conversation Christian let it be known to Tyler that he's starting to figure out his emotions. How soon will it be before Christian can figure them all out?
While Christian was helping Jeff get dress, Tyler went to his safe in the cellar and withdrew two thousand dollars. We found out what he did with that money, he gave it to Jeff in case of an emergency.
Kevin and Travis woke up happy. It looks like Travis's feelings are getting stronger for Kevin. Like Travis said, he feels like he's at home when Kevin is cuddled in his arms.
How many saw that situation happening with CPS. You really didn't think it was going to be that easy for Tyler, did you? You saw how Nichole Dunbar got involved, she's a friend of Cindy Campbell's and Mrs. Dunbar husband is partners with Cindy Campbell boyfriend. It looks like Cindy Campbell is pushing harder by involving an innocent child in her battle. What will Tyler do next?
Not only do Christian and Tyler have Cindy Campbell and Nichole Dunbar to worry about but they also have Troy to worry about. How much can they take? How much can Tyler be push before he breaks and goes off on someone? Even I don't know that yet.
Who is this mystery man and how is he involved with Nichole Dunbar. What will happen to Jeff in this man's custody? Keep reading the future chapters to find that out.
Christian and Tyler were given several information on Cindy Campbell, Nichole Dunbar, and the two policemen. What information in contain in those envelopes?
We got a little make out session with Kevin and Travis in Kevin's car. Luckily no one walked passed the front or back of the car, they probably would have died of embarrassment of watching the scene.
Finally we come to the cliff hanger. Some of you asked why I didn't continued it in chapter nine and I told you it will come back once Tyler was back in Malibu. Well here it is. Who is the woman in the hospital bed and why is she there?
The rewritten versions of previous chapters are now up to chapter six. Go back and take a look at those chapters and let me know how you like them.
One more thing you guys! If you want to see this story continue, please let me know. I'm not getting much comments, suggestions, or e-mails and starting to think you're not interested in the story anymore. Let me know if I should continue this story or not. You guys are what keeping me motivated in writing this story.
If I had missed anything in my corner, maybe my editor will catch it in her corner. I need to get started in writing the next chapter.
So much is going on and not enough time to write it all out! New plots are going to open and some will close. Keep reading the future chapters and enjoy! Please let me know how I'm doing. I look forward to hearing your comments and suggestions at {romeo.jacobmillertex@gmail.com} thanks.
