Jose Spreads His Wings
By Ben
Chapter VI
Jose quickly fell into a routine living with Enrique. His days were filled with classes and research for his courses. He had signed up for a full schedule and it kept him very busy. Always an excellent student, he applied himself wholeheartedly to the task. Jose was serious about his education. He felt he owed it to his parents, his uncle and his younger siblings to do his best. He had no patience or respect for those fellow students who did nothing but party and took it all for granted.
He enjoyed his living arrangement with Enrique very much. Aside from the fact that he now had a quiet environment in which to study, Enrique also had his own computer and Jose was discovering the usefulness of the Internet. His new roommate seemed to take his studies just as seriously and he did.
Jose had yet to decide on his major and was enrolled in core courses and those which were mandatory for all degrees at the University. Enrique was working on a degree in Business and Management. He was earmarked to enter into his father's multifaceted world of business and land holdings.
Of course, there was some time for leisure activities and Jose enjoyed Enrique's company very much. The talked a great deal, laughed with and at each other, seemed to have the same taste in food and entertainment. Neither of them had watched television much before, so they used it mainly for movies that the rented.
Household expenses and responsibilities were shared equitably. Jose had always helped out around the house, so he welcomed this activity. He was so happy to have left his lonely, noisy existence in the dormitory behind. And then there were the sleeping arrangements.
No matter what position he fell asleep, he almost always woke up snuggled next to Enrique. Although they had not had sex nor even exchanged a kiss, Jose found it ever harder to stay his resolve against his "evil " thoughts. He had been back to speak with the young priest and was encouraged by his easy, non-judgmental manner. But it also served to add to his confusion.
A few weeks went by and Enrique announced that he would be flying home for the long weekend. His father would be sending the company plane to pick him up at the small airport just outside of town. He urged Jose to go with him, stating that they could even get a chance to travel to Jose's village to see his family. It didn't take much convincing. Jose had never been away from home before and missed them very much. Since neither of them had classes on Friday, they met the plane on Thursday afternoon. Jose was a bit apprehensive because he had never been in airplane. He was surprised to see how small it was. He had expected something a lot bigger. Enrique greeted the smiling pilot with a hug. He introduced him to Jose soon they were onboard.
Jose watched in rapt attention as the pilot conducted his numerous preflight checks. It seemed he inspected every square in of the exterior before climbing into the cockpit. There he continued his checklist. After starting the engine, he carefully checked all of the many gages and tested the control surfaces. Finally, he radioed the control tower for permission to take off.
As the little plane began to move, Jose turned to Enrique and smiled. "Is it not exciting?" He asked his friend.
Enrique looked up from his book and saw the boyish expression on Jose's face. He wanted to take Jose's face in his hands and kiss him deeply. "Si. Would you like to set up front and watch as we take off?"
Jose eyes grew wide. "May I do that?" "Of course you may. Come up and sit in the seat beside me." The pilot called back to him.
Jose quickly moved forward and got his long frame buckled into the copilot's seat. We watched everything the pilot did as the plane roared down the runway and left the ground. "Madre de Dios!" Jose exclaimed. It is so beautiful from up here. "The trees are so small and the roads field look like a painting. "
Jose began talking to the pilot, asking hundreds of questions about how the plane worked. His questions were answered patiently and to his satisfaction. He was even allowed to take the controls for a brief period of time. He was thrilled. He couldn't wait to tell his family of his adventure. He was also anxious for them to meet his new friend.
At one point in the long flight, Jose looked back and saw that Enrique had fallen asleep. He found it incomprehensible. How could anybody be calm enough to sleep when they were flying high in the sky and there was so much to see and so much to learn? Jose made himself a promise that day. He vowed that, somehow, he would learn to pilot an airplane.
As the sun began to set, lights appeared on the ground. Jose thought they looked like jewels on black velvet. He could easily tell the major cities easily from rural areas. Enrique stirred and spoke to him. "That is San Diego far to the right and behind us slightly. We will be home soon."
"It is beautiful, is it not? Jose indicated the glimmering panorama. "Si, it is. "Enrique smiled at him. He found Jose's child-like naiveté and enthusiasm very endearing.
The pilot began to gradually decrease the altitude as they neared the private airstrip on Don Chavez's estate. Enrique called on his cell phone and almost immediately bright light illuminated the long, hard-packed dirt lane. Jose stared wide eyed and excited, and maybe a little bit nervous, as the small airplane made a perfect landing at the hands of the skilled pilot. He resolved, once again, to be able to do the same some day. Perhaps when he finished at the university, he could train to become a commercial pilot.
They exited the plane and helped the pilot push it into a large garage-like building. Exiting the building on the other side, they were met by a large black automobile. Enrique indicated that Jose should enter the rear door then followed him. Jose had never known such a fine car existed. Certainly nobody in his small village had ever seen one like it. He was just beginning to understand the vastness of the Don's wealth. The limousine wound its way down the tree-lined road. Through a large break in the trees, Jose saw an enormous house lighted by ground floodlights. "Surely," he thought. "This cannot be Enrique's house. This must be a luxury hotel." As they drew nearer, however, the lack of a sign and other clues told him that it was, indeed the residence of Don Chavez and his family.
The big car stopped smoothly in the wide circular driveway, just in front of the door. A well dressed, middle-aged man quickly descended the stairs and opened the rear door. Jose was thinking that Enrique looked nothing like his father when his friend bounded from the car and grabbed the older man in a strong hug. "Manuel! " Enrique said, excitedly. " I have missed you. How are your Senora and your son Raul?
"Hola, Enrique. She is fine, very well. Raul is growing so quickly. He is taller than you are now. Soon he will be as tall as...as...him." Manuel indicated Jose, who was just emerging from the limousine.
Enrique made the introductions. Jose, too received an embrace. Manuel, he learned, had worked for the Don for many years and was like a member of the family. They walked up the steps and through the massive double doors while the driver followed with their bags.
Jose stared wide-eyed, his mouth open in disbelief, at the opulence he saw. The central hall of the house was very wide and three stories high. An immense crystal chandelier hung between twin curved staircases. The gleaming black and white marble floor seemed to stretch out forever and had numerous doors on either side. "Where is Papa?" Enrique asked.
"He is up with La Dona, your mama. He will be meeting you in the library for cocktails after you have dressed for dinner."
Jose looked down at himself. He had selected his best clothes for this trip. He wanted to make a good impression. Enrique, by contrast, was dressed very casually in black jeans and a polo shirt. He thanked Manuel and led Jose up to the second floor and down a long hallway.
Stopping beside one of the large, ornate carved doors, Enrique said, "This is your room. Come, let me show you around. Enrique pushed open the door and Jose stepped inside. He saw what looked like a small apartment, complete with sofa and entertainment center. Behind a lacquered folding screen, he saw the largest bed he had ever seen. The furniture was heavy and masculine the fabrics rich. Plants were placed artfully about the room and despite it obvious expense, it seemed very homey.
Enrique led him through another door into a short hallway. On one side was a dressing room with closets along both walls. Jose noticed his small bag on a fine wooden table in the corner. On the far side of the hall was a huge bathroom. Water was churning in a huge tub. Beside the toilet was another porcelain fixture with which Jose was unfamiliar. There was a very large shower with two showerheads and benches along the sides. I looked much like the shower he had shared with the entire floor of his dormitory at the university.
"I don't know what to say." Gasped Jose. "Everything is so beautiful and...BIG!"
Enrique laughed. "You will get used to it. This is the best part." He opened a door at the end of the hall and stepped into a room almost identical to the other bedroom/suite. "This," he announced, "Is MY room. If you decide you don't want to sleep alone, you can always come in here with me. Just like at the apartment." Jose felt relieved. His entire family could have slept in that bed in the other room. He would, indeed, sleep in here with Enrique.
"Come, mi amigo we must change. Papa insists that we dress formally for dinner." Enrique took his hand and led him back to the dressing room.
"Uh...Enrique." Jose began with much embarrassment. "I have nothing formal to wear."
"Ah, no need to worry my friend. I ordered this for you when I invited you to come home with me. I hope it fits well." Enrique opened one of the closets and pulled out a dazzling black tuxedo. Jose couldn't believe it. He had never worn anything nearly so fine. He reached out and touched it as if it were pure gold." "Oh, Enrique! It is wonderful! You will have to show me the correct way to wear it."
Enrique smiled his brilliant smile. He was happy to bring such joy to his friend. "Si I promise. If it doesn't fit you well, I will have it altered for you. You may keep it here for when you visit, which I hope will be often. Come let us shower quickly so we will not keep Papa waiting."
Enrique quickly began peeling off his clothes on his way to the bathroom. He turned on the water and stepped into the shower. He turned to his friend and said. "Come, Jose, we haven't much time." Jose didn't have time to think. He disrobed and got beneath the showerhead not occupied by Enrique.
"Please soap my back for me." Enrique said, holding the bar out to him Jose was so surprised that he nearly dropped it. Enrique turned away from him and Jose reached out to touch his friend's smooth muscular body. The feel of the slippery, warm skin caused his heartbeat to increase. He felt his cock begin to stir so he quickly soaped Enrique's strong back then returned the soap to its holder.
Jose turned away from Enrique in an attempt to hide his growing erection. This was taken as an indication by Enrique to soap Jose's back. Jose inhaled sharply when he felt his friend's hands contact his naked body. Enrique thoroughly scrubbed his back and his ass. Jose was afraid he would ejaculate, so aroused was he. Turning off the hot water, he hoped his erection would subside. He was partially successful by the time Enrique turned off the water and they began to dry themselves with warm, thirsty towels.
Jose followed back to the dressing room where Enrique showed him where to find underwear, socks and a white pleated shirt with black studs. He put on the garments and Enrique helped him into his tuxedo. Tying the bow tie proved to be more difficult than he expected. Enrique found a lip on tie and turned Jose around to face himself in the large wall mirrors.
Jose Hardly recognized himself. He squared his shoulders, turned one way and then the other, admiring the way he looked. "It fits you well, Jose. I did a good job guessing what you needed. I have to admit that I looked at the labels in your clothes as well." Remarked Enrique. "Let's put on our shoes and go downstairs to meet Papa."
Jose walked gingerly so as not to wrinkle his clothing or crease the shiny shoes. Enrique stopped him and told him to relax. "You look like you are walking a tightrope, like in the circus. Just walk naturally." Jose tried to relax and felt much better for it. They came to the library door and entered.
An extremely handsome and masculine man rose from a wing chair near the fireplace. He held a glass in his left hand and extended his right hand to Jose. "Buenas Noches, Senor. Welcome to my home."
Jose was speechless, and merely nodded. Everything about this man commanded immediate respect, from the touch of gay hair at his temples, to the powerful body, to the manicured fingernails. Don Chavez gave off an aura of power and confidence. He had a friendly smile and a firm handshake. Jose was terribly intimidated by him and had to struggle with himself to meet the gentleman's eyes. "Please enjoy a cocktail before the ladies arrive for dinner."
Enrique gave his father a big hug, and received a kiss, full on the lips from the patriarch. It was clear to see that these men had a strong, close relationship. "How is Mama?" he asked.
"She has her good days and some bad days. Fortunately, today is a very good day for her. She has been excited all day about you coming home and bringing your friend to meet us." Answered the Don.
After the two younger men had gotten their drinks, they all sat in front of the fire. "Enrique tells me that you are from Boca del Pero, Jose. I had the opportunity to help some people in that village not long ago, following a severe storm. I met many good people and was glad I had the chance to get them back to their lives." Enrique's father said to Jose.
"Si, I was told by my Tio Jose, has met you. He is an attorney there. He told me how you helped to save the village." Answered Jose.
The Don was flattered. "I don't know if I did all of that, but I made some very good friends there, your uncle included. I remember him well..."
The Do was interrupted by the door opening and the entrance of two very beautiful women. The elder was seated in a wheel chair and, despite her gauntness, gave off a regal air of elegance and grace. Her thick black hair had faint streaks of gray which only added to her charm. It was impeccably styled and shone in the light from the fireplace. She was dressed in an ivory, floor length gown with a high collar which added to her look of royalty.
Jose immediately rose to his feet and did Enrique and Don Chavez. It had been a reflex move on his part, so taken was he by this small woman's presence. Enrique quickly walked to her and lowered himself to his knees to embrace her. They exchanged several kisses and words of endearment. It was evident to everyone in the room that there was a special bond between Enrique and his mother. Enrique stood and motioned to Jose to come closer. "Mama, may I introduce my friend, Jose?" Jose walked over, and, for some reason, felt compelled to reach out and embrace her. She returned his hug and, when he stood upright, smiled radiantly up at him. "Thank you for that, Jose. Your mama must have done an excellent job of raising you."
Jose blushed. "Si, she is a great lady, like you." He said shyly.
Enrique then turned to the younger female. He swept her into his strong arms and twirled her around in circles. "Carla, Carla, Carla! Mi hermana bonita! I have missed you so much. And look, I have brought my friend Jose to meet you. Is he not very handsome?"
"He certainly is." Agreed Carla, after Enrique ahs allowed her to regain her feet. "Hola, Jose it is good to meet you. Do you have a hug for me as well?"
Jose bent to hug the tiny young woman, barely out of her girlhood. She did, indeed, look just like her mother as Enrique had told him. He burned orange dress complimented her smooth, tan features to perfection. Her hair, thick, black and shining hung down her back nearly to her knees.
"Will you escort me into dinner, Jose?" Carla asked and reached for his arm. Enrique pushed his mother's chair and they all followed the Don into the dining room.
