Chapter: 1

Meet David Daniel, the head of safety regulatory compliance at this swanky firm in San Fran. He went up the corporate ladder with less his determination and hard work and more of good connections. Dude's 45, married but no kiddos. He's all about those morning walks and gym sessions, keeping that chest broad and those abs tight. Man, he's ripped, all 'cause he's into it, you know?

Dave's not just a muscle head, though. He's got this chill vibe, super friendly to everyone. But behind that cool exterior, he's got some real stress going on. Dave's living that high life. Big house, fancy cars, the whole nine yards. Being head honcho has its perks, that's for sure. Still, even with all that glitz and glamour, Dave's got his fair share of stress.

See, managing safety regs ain't no joke. Sometimes, Dave messes up a bit and gets all anxious about it. Poor guy just wants to share the load, but it's tough when you're sitting on the throne.

One day, a familiar voice broke through the monotony of David's routine. It was Malik, an old friend from years past, reaching out for a favor. Malik, who had immigrated from Pakistan and now ran a humble grocery store, sought an opportunity for his son, Michael, who had recently completed his studies. Without hesitation to show his influence, David reassured Malik of his willingness to help and requested Michael's resume.

As David reviews Michael's impressive resume and gives a shot. He pulls some strings and two days later reaches out to Malik with promising news. A job vacancy had opened up in his company, and Michael was the perfect candidate. With genuine warmth, David invited Michael to stay at his home until he secured the job, assuring him that there was no need to worry about renting a place.

Alright, let's dive deeper into Dave's world. Meet Jessica, his wife -- a real piece of work. She's all about the glitz and glam, strutting around like she owns the place. Always busy with her shopping sprees and those dreaded kitty parties. But let's be real, she's not exactly winning any awards for humility. The woman's got an attitude, looking down on anyone who doesn't match her status. And poor Dave? Well, let's just say he's not immune to her bossiness. She knew that David was good at pretending, he could portray all his Mach alpha self for other but he was a clumsy and nerve wreck man who sometimes couldn't even stand for himself. So she had a good hold over him.

See, Dave's always trying to rein in her spending, telling her to chill with the shopping sprees. But does she listen? Nope, not a chance. It's like talking to a brick wall.

So, when Dave tells her about Michael crashing at their place, you can bet Jessica's not thrilled. She's throwing a fit, going on about how it's gonna mess up her plans. But Dave's had enough. He lays down the law, telling her straight up that there's gonna be no drama. Michael's staying until he gets his paycheck, and that's that. Jessica's was surprised at how firmly he was going against her but said nothing.

Sure, Jessica's not happy about it, but Dave's not backing down. He's had it with her antics, and he's not about to let her ruin this chance to help out a friend who is his life saviour.

It was pouring buckets in San Francisco, the kind of rain that makes you question why you left the house in the first place. Malik's cruising down the street, minding his own business, when he spots a mess of metal and glass ahead -- a car wreck.

He slams on the brakes of his bike, heart racing, and jumps out to see if anyone's hurt. And there, in the middle of the chaos, is David, knocked out cold. Without a second thought, Malik hauls him out of the wreck and into the shelter of his car, shielding him from the downpour.

It's one of those moments where time slows down, you know? Two strangers brought together by bad luck and a whole lot of rain. But in that moment, they become more than just strangers -- they become friends.

As David comes to, he's grateful as heck for Malik's help. They shoot the breeze, swapping stories like they've known each other for years. And from that day on, they're tight -- a reminder that even in the craziest storms, there's always someone willing to lend a hand.

So how can David say no, this was the time to return the favour to his life saviour.

Let's add another layer to Dave's story. Picture this: Dave's not just your average Joe -- he's got looks that could stop traffic. Men and women alike can't help but turn their heads when he walks by. Yeah, he's got that kind of charm.

Despite the attention he gets, he's never once thought about straying from her. Even Jessica would sometimes get confused how she has such a loyal husband who doesn't even look at other women or may be there was something deep amd darker that David hid from others, God knows. This was another trait that had made David popular in his circle.

Michael arrives few days later looking in awe the big house. David greeted him cordially, he was a stark contrast to David's imposing figure. He looked around 23 or 24, slender but was tall around 5'10, Michael carried himself with an air of quiet confidence. His stubble, fair skin hinted at his heritage, a reminder of his roots in Pakistan.

Despite his youth, Michael possessed a certain maturity in his demeanor, a trait that spoke volumes about his upbringing. His dark, expressive eyes held a glint of ambition, eager to carve out his own path. His neatly styled hair and well-groomed appearance reflected his eagerness to make a good impression.

But man, with Michael crashing at his crib, Dave's juggling more than ever. Work's piling up, and now he's got this extra responsibility on his plate. It's like walking a tightrope, trying to keep it all together without losing his cool at Jessica as well. He had especially requested her to be nice to him and even to her husband in Micheal's presence and in return she could go and buy whatever she wants. The last condition calmed Jessica down a little and she acted so motherly towards Micheal.

Malik: Hey, Michael, did you reach safely?

Michael: Yeah, dad, I'm here. It's a bit overwhelming, to be honest. This place is huge.

Malik: Don't worry, son. You'll get used to it. How's everything else?

Michael: Everything's fine. I'll start my job from tomorrow. The will take interview and I'll kick start.

Malik: That's great news, Michael! I'm proud of you, son. Just focus on your work, and everything will fall into place.

Michael: Thanks, dad. I'll do my best.

Malik:Remember, if you need anything, just give me a call. And don't forget to thank Mr. David for this opportunity.

Michael: Of course, dad. I'll make sure to thank him. Thanks for everything, dad.

Malik:Anytime, son.

Michael hangs up and takes a deep breath, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness about his new job and living arrangements.

David: So, Michael, how's everything going? Last time I saw you, you were a like in your early teens and now you have grown into a handsome young man.

Michael: Thanks, Uncle. I appreciate the opportunity you've given me. It's been a learning experience, for sure.

David: Do I look that old to you, son? (He chuckles) Call me David. And how's your family, Michael? How's Malik doing?

Michael: (somberly) Well, father has been holding up. It's been tough for him since his mother passed away.

David: (nodding) I'm sorry to hear that. Please pass on my condolences to him.

David: Michael, you know you're welcome to stay with us for as long as you need. Consider it your home.

Jessica: (giving David a disapproving frown)

David: (brushing off Jessica's reaction) Anyway, let's enjoy our dinner. Cheers to new beginnings.

***** Micheal started going on the job from the next day. David was giving him a drive. He explained his job description and alloted him his seat. Micheal was good at interacting and making his presence, so he attracted many eyes to himself. He made friends in just a day like Linda, Toby, Navy, and Zayn. The environment was professional and he enjoyed his first day.

David ask about his day on returning him and had a chat with him. They discussed few stuff and reached home. Micheal sleep soundly as he was enjoying himself.

In the morning, Michael rounded a corner in search of David when he nearly collided with him. There stood David, tall and imposing, clad only in a towel, his wet hair tousled from the shower. Michael couldn't help but steal a glance at David's sculpted physique before quickly averting his eyes, clearing his throat awkwardly. "Uh, David, when are we heading to the office?" he asked, trying to focus on anything but the sight before him. "Just in a few mins Micheal. Wait for me downstairs", and Michela returned with a racing heart. David was really a catch.
