Author's Note: Well here goes nothing. This is my first story for all to read. I've been an avid reader of the Nifty archives since I found out about it, which is about four years ago, I think. About a year ago, for the most part, I ditched all of the other categories and just read boy-band entries.
Some of my favorite stories come from this section. I can only hope to be as good as some of the author's that I've read on here. Hopefully you'll find my story interesting to say the least, and keep up with it. I think I have a good story to tell and hope you'll listen and enjoy.
Once again, this is my first time posting something that I've written. All of your comments and criticisms are appreciated. Please let me know what you think of the story. (I've always hated this plea from authors asking, almost begging people to write them, but now I know how important it is because you put time into writing something for others to read and just want to know what they thought. So, please let me know) E-mail me at rtstories@hotmail.com

Because I Love You By: Lucas
End of Chapter 2
A.J. was silent as he thought about what Kevin had said, and as he thought about the "talk" Kevin referred to. If Kevin was right, A.J. thought, then Nick's going through hell right now because that's what I had to go through. He turned back to Kevin and looked into his eyes for confirmation. He knew that Kevin was convinced he was right.
"Naw. It can't be. If those are the facts you're going by Kev, then remember when Howie got the same way. When he got all depressed and wouldn't talk to any of us for weeks?" A.J. questioned trying to disprove what Kevin had proposed.
"Yeah, what about it?"
"Well, Howie told us later that it was over that girl who he said he fell in love with, but wouldn't go out with him because she had just broken up with her boyfriend and wanted to try and work things out with her ex."
"Yeah, so?"
"So...It could be the same for Nick." A.J. said pleased with himself.
"Alright fine. Then it could be on of two things. A.) Nick's in love, or in love with someone who doesn't love him, or just got his heart broken...or...B.) He's gay."
Just then they heard a knock at the door. A.J. turned to Kevin to get the final word in.
"Don't go jumping to any conclusions Kev. And keep this between us for now, K?" A.J. said as he got up to answer the door.
"Fine. But let me know if you hear more."
"Fine. We'll talk more about it later."
A.J. opened the door and found Brian and Howie waiting for them.
"You guys ready yet?" Brian asked.
"Yeah." Kevin and A.J. said in unison.
"Then let's go. I'm starving." Howie added in.
With that A.J. pulled the door shut to his room.
Chapter 3
"I hope you enjoyed your meal Mr. Cater." The blonde haired waitress said as she handed Nick the check.
"Sandy, I thought I told you to call me Nick."
"Sorry, Nick. Thanks for the autograph too Mr...I mean Nick. My sister will appreciate it." Sandy blushed as she said that.
"My Pleasure." Nick replied as Sandy, the waitress he had befriended over dinner, walked away. Somehow He knew that the autograph wasn't for her sister but really for her. He was happy to give it either way.
She was nice to him. They maintained a casual conversation over dinner, and even suggested some good places to check out while he was in the city. Nick pulled out his wallet to pay the bill, but realized he had only enough cash to cover the meal. Nick felt really bad at not being able to leave her a tip after all her help. He checked all of his pockets, but all he had on him was a pen. He took the bill and flipped it over to write a note for Sandy. Nick pulled out two pieces of paper form his wallet and placed it under the note. He grabbed his jacket and made his way towards the door.
As soon as Sandy noticed Nick walk out, Sandy made her way to the table to clear it off and get it ready for her next customers. She picked up the money Nick had left, when she saw the note Nick had left for her. She picked up the note to read it.
Sandy,
I'm really sorry. I feel like a jerk. I just realized I didn't bring enough cash to leave a good tip, so I hope these will do. I hope it's OK with you. See you around.
Nick
After reading the note, Sandy picked up the two pieces of paper Nick left her. She stared at them for a moment, reading what was written on them. She walked over to Liz, her friend and manager.
"Liz?" Sandy said.
"Yeah Sandy?"
"Can I get tomorrow night off?"
"What? We're really short staffed as it is." Liz looked at her with disappointment. Sandy just stared back at her looking as if she was about to burst. "San, are you OK?" She asked concerned for her friend.
"Uh Huh. Wait, let me rephrase that. Can you and Me both have the night off tomorrow?"
"What? Why?"
"Because," Sandy said out loud, "We have tickets to go see the BACKSTREET BOYS tomorrow!!!" She pulled out the tickets Nick had left for her and started jumping up and down.
"No. Girl you lie!!!" Liz said grabbing Sandy so that she could look at the tickets. "Gimme those." Liz snatched the tickets from the giddy Sandy and confirmed that she wasn't lying by letting out a scream of her own. "Where did you get these? Why didn't you tell me sooner? You know how much I love A.J." Liz yelled out attracting some attention from the patrons of the restaurant.
"Nick Carter just gave them to me as a tip." Sandy answered.
"Nick Carter? As a tip? He was here?"
"Yup. And he gave me an autograph." Sandy pulled out the piece of paper Nick signed and showed it to Liz.
"He was here? And you didn't tell me???"
"I tried, but you said you were busy."
"Yeah, but not too busy to meet Nick Carter."
"Well, you can meet him tomorrow. That's if we have the night off." Sandy said as she looked at Liz with pleading eyes.
"Of course we can. We're not missing this. Jeff owes me a few favors. I'll get him to switch shifts with me." Liz said all happy.
"That's great for you, but I'm the one with the tickets remember?"
Sandy reminded Liz who had a tendency to get carried away.
"I didn't forget girl. I'll tell him that you're taking off with me, and to find a replacement for you."
"You sure he's gonna be cool with this?" Sandy asked feeling a bit guilty for leaving Jeff with all the problems.
"His gay ass better be fine with it. Remember when you and I had to do a double last month?"
"Yeah, but what does that have to do with this?"
"Well, we covered so that he could take his little boy toy Jack over there," Liz said cocking here head towards one of the other tables where Jack stood, "to go see Cher."
"Jack...Jeff...No Way!" Sandy said in disbelief. "But I have this like major crush on Jeff."
"Well honey, guess what. It's safe to say that Jeff doesn't have a crush on you." Liz said as the realization hit Sandy, and they both broke into laughter.
"Figures. I always fall for the gay ones." Sandy said defeated.
Nick was smiling as he walked out of the restaurant. He loved doing little things like giving people tickets to their shows. He honestly felt bad about not giving her an actual tip. It was then he remembered that he had no more cash on him, and made a mental note to stop by the first ATM he saw.
Nick continued on his exploration of the city. He'd decided to use some of Sandy's suggestions, and after stopping by an ATM, checked out a little dessert place called Veniro's. As he left, he made a mental note to tell the other guys about this place, especially Howie who loved good desserts.
Nick continued his wandering of the city until he found himself around the corner from the next place Sandy suggested. He asked her if she knew of any little, out of the way places where he wouldn't be so easily recognized. When she heard that, this was the first place that popped in her head. She told Nick that if he didn't mind '80's, new wave music, this place was perfect. She said it was small, dark, and discrete. That's when Nick found himself in front of a place called "The Pyramid." He almost didn't find it because of the all black exterior. If it wasn't for the small sign above the place, he would have missed it entirely.
Unlike the usual clubs he went to, there were no lines of people dressed up in flashy outfits, standing outside the door. The only similarity was the bouncer who still looked as intimidating as any of the ones he's seen throughout his clubbing experiences.
As Nick approached the club, he started to move towards the door when he noticed the scary bouncer guy stand up.
"I.D." The bouncer said in his deep, intimidating voice.
"Huh?" Nick responded not used to being asked for identification when he went clubbing.
"I need to see some I.D. buddy."
"Oh yeah, hold on." Nick responded nervously as he reached into his back pocket for his wallet. His heart started to race as he remembered he wasn't 21 yet, and knew he couldn't pull the old 'Don't you know who I am?' routine. He already knew the bouncer didn't recognize who he was, plus he didn't even think the big oaf looked like the type to know who or what a BackStreet Boy was.
Nick fished out his license hoping that he would be let in. He had heard that some clubs in New York were willing to bend the rules sometimes, letting certain people in, even though they were underage, just so the club could maintain some sort of image. He waited nervously as the bouncer looked at his Florida Driver's License, and then at him, and then back at the license.
"Yep...That's me...Nick...Nickolas actually...It's on my license."
Nick joked trying to release some nervous tension.
"Yeah, I can read." The bouncer responded not amused at Nick.
"Oh God...No...I didn't mean it that way. I was just.." Nick said as he tried to rectify the situation. But was cut off by the bouncer.
"Cover's ten bucks. Pay inside."
"Huh?"
"Are you deaf kid? I said cover's ten bucks. Pay inside." He said growing more irritated as he handed back Nick's license.
"Sure. Thanks." Nick said wanting to just get out of the bouncer's face.
Once inside Nick took a deep breath, and kicked himself for the fiasco he almost caused with the bouncer. "Smooth Nick, real smooth." Nick said to himself as he gave the cashier ten dollars for the cover charge.
Nick walked away from the cashier and further into the club. Looking around, he realized it was more of a bar with a large dance floor at one end. It was smaller than the clubs he was used to, but thought it was cozy none the less. After checking his jacket at the coat check, Nick moved towards the dance area. He looked around and checked his watch. It was only 12:00a.m. 'Still early,' he thought, 'prolly why it's not crowded yet.' He moved towards one of the tables in the corner. He sat down hoping he wouldn't be noticed.
As more and more people came in and filled the dance floor, Nick continuously scoped out the crowd. Judging from the music he found vaguely familiar, and the crowd that filled the place, he was satisfied that his anonymity would be kept. No one in there looked like anyone who would be found at any of their concerts. Not wanting to be a wallflower, and driven by his natural urge to dance, Nick got up from the table and moved towards the crowd.
He chose this moment to get up and dance because he knew the song that was playing. "Sweet Dreams" pumped over the loud speakers and the lights were flashing everywhere. It took Nick a few minutes to get used to the beat, and to adjust his dancing to match the others in the crowd. He thought it strange at first, 80's dancing that is, comparing it to the dancing he was used to at the more techno heavy clubs he frequented. It was funny at first, but eventually he got used to it. He also noticed how "free" everyone seemed. It didn't look like anyone had a definite dance partner. They were all sort of just dancing. Nick enjoyed that fact because he was tired of people, girls to be more specific, randomly running up to him at clubs and grinding with him.
Nick went on to make more mental comparisons between this club and others he's been in. Eventually, he just closed his eyes and let his dancing flow to the music. He danced as if he was in a trance-like state. He danced like a man who was dancing his problems away. He opened his eyes and scanned the room. He saw people dancing just as he was. A smile grew on his face. At this moment he was no longer "Nick Carter the BackStreet Boy" because no on there recognized him, that was until he locked gazes with
someone a few feet away.
Just as quickly as Nick caught his stare, Nick looked away, but not before noticing his admirer do the same thing. Nick closed his eyes again and thought about what had just happened.
'What if he knows who I am? Great just what I need. I knew someone would recognize me. I knew this was a bad idea. He's kinda cute though. It's just my luck. Just as I'm...wait...did I just think he was cute??? Yeah he was kinda...stop...can't think that. Then again just one more look wouldn't hurt.' Nick thought to himself. He opened his eyes and turned his head to steal another glance at him.
His admirer wasn't looking back this time, which allowed Nick to stare to last longer than he intended. 'He looks about my age. That's a plus. God, He's wearing Abercrombie and he looks good.'
Nick continued his mental study of him. His admirer was wearing a gray fleece vest over a white A&F long sleeve top, and baggy jeans. Nick didn't want to lock gazes again, but he missed how his admirer's green eyes were set off by his spiky blonde hair. He was a slimer version of an Abercrombie and Fitch model.
Nick was now staring, and mindlessly dancing to the music. The A&F youth was dancing wildly with his eyes closed just as Nick had done earlier. All of a sudden, his eyes opened and was drawn to Nick's stare. He let out a smile which caught Nick off guard. Nick returned his smile, but broke eye contact immediately. A little embarrassed at getting caught staring, Nick just returned to dancing as millions of thoughts started running through his head.
'Oh shit, he smiled at me. What does that mean? What do I do? What the fuck do I do? Think! Think Nick! He's really cute.' As that last thought went through Nick's mind, he couldn't help but smile and let out a small laugh. 'Do I go up to him? What if he doesn't think I'm cute. Maybe he wasn't smiling at me. Alright, now I'm getting paranoid. I'll just see if he does it again.'
Nick opened his eyes, trying to play cool, and slowly turned towards the boy again. Once again their eyes met, but this time it was Nick who was smiling. His suspicions were confirmed, by the boy smiling back. But now what? Not wanting to stare, Nick lowered his gaze. All he could see now was this guy's midsection. By that time, "Vest Boy," that was the name Nick had given Him. It wasn't unusual for Nick to do that. It was his habit by now to give people he didn't know, or had just met, a nickname that was derived from an attribute of the other person. So, just as Nick lowered his gaze, Vest Boy stuck his hands under his shirt and began to roll it up his stomach from the inside. This gave Nick a clear view of Vest Boy's abs and the top part of his boxers which stuck out from the top of his jeans.
Nick started to blush at the show he was treated to and looked up at Vest Boy's face again. Now the two were both smiling, but this time Nick's was from embarrassment. Nick retreated to his "eyes closed" dance again. 'God, now he's taunting me. He's so hot!!!' Nick thought to himself as his hormones kicked into overdrive and filled him with lust.
'Okay, I need to talk to him. Gotta find out if he knows who I am. Please god don't let him know who I am. Need to talk to Vest Boy. Need to know his name.' Nick opened his eyes just as he had done earlier. His heart was racing and his palms began to sweat. He'd never approached anyone like this before, let alone a guy. His breathing increased as he turned to make eye contact. But he was gone. Vest Boy had left the building.
Nick looked around and frantically searched the dance floor. He looked all around but couldn't find him. Disappointed, Nick moved towards an empty seat along the wall. 'Great job Nick. You took too long. You hesitated just as usual. Now he's gone. Mental note...GROW SOME BALLS!!!' Nick continued his tirade of himself. 'Great now he's gone, moment lost.' Nick finished his thought as he got up to leave. As he passed by the bar, the realization hit him that he was thirsty. He took a spot at the bar and got the bartender's attention.
"Can I get a screwdriver?" Nick asked the bartender.
"Sure. Do you have a bracelet?" The bartender asked seeing that Nick might be too young to be ordering drinks.
"Huh?" Nick answered confused.
"A bracelet on your wrist saying your 21 or some I.D."
"Oh," Nick said realizing that he was the only one at the bar without a bracelet. "What I meant to say is, can I get a bottled water?" Nick finished saying, slightly embarassed.
"Sure, that you don't need a bracelet for." The bar tender said with a smile as he left to get Nick his water.
'Jeez, I strike out and can't even get a drink. This place sucks.' Nick thought to himself.
The bartender came back with Nick's water. Nick handed him a five and told him to keep the change. As Nick turned around, he took a sip from the bottle at the same time. Without realizing someone was behind him, Nick knocked into them.
"Shit, I'm sorry." Nick started to apologize to the guy he'd knocked into.
"Naw, I'm sorry it's my fault I shouldn't have been standing so close. There's just so many people and..."
"Naw dude, it's my fault I should have been..." Just then Nick looked up at the guy he was talking to. "...paying attention." Nick finished his sentence and realized he had just bumped into the guy from the dance floor minus the white long sleeved shirt under the vest.
"Don't worry about it. It's Okay, really." Vest boy had spoken. "No hard feelings."
Nick looked like a deer caught in headlights as he stared at the now partially naked boy.
"My name's Jim." Vest Boy said sticking out his hand.
"Huh?" Nick said dumbfounded.
"I said my name's Jim. Nice to meet you." He said a bit louder so Nick could hear.
"Oh. My bad. Hey Jim." 'Vest Boy has a name.' Nick thought. "I'm...uh..." Nick contemplated whether or not to give his real name, but opted for his usual fake one just to be on the safe side. "My name's Jake. Nice to meet ya." Nick told Jim as they shook hands
They continued to shake hands and exchange the usual pleasantries.
"Hey Jim, I wish I could buy you a drink for bumping into you like that and spilling some water on you. But, I don't seem to have a bracelet."
Nick said as he lifted his right hand for Jim to examine.
"That's alright. I was gonna ask you the same thing but," Jim lifted his hand to show Nick, "I don't own a bracelet either."
"That's cool." Nick said, "I could buy a water if you want."
"That's O.K." Jim said laughing at Nick's comment and at the predicament they were in. "Actually," he paused and thought to himself before leaning in to Nick and speaking, "a friend of mine mentioned a place around here that doesn't card. We could go there if you want."
"Um," Nick thought to himself about the implications, but thought how nice Jim seems and taking into account how much cuter he looked without a shirt on, answered, "Sure why the hell not."
"Cool. Um, I just need to put my shirt back on and grab my coat."
'Or you could go shirtless.' Nick thought to himself but didn't vocalize his thoughts. Instead he just responded, "Yeah I need to grab my jacket too."
"OK. I'll meet you at the coat check then?"
"Sure. Take your time." Nick couldn't believe his luck. He thought Jim, formerly known as Vest Boy, had left. Instead, he shows up behind him, and treats him to a little show.
Nick handed his claim ticket to the coat check girl and retrieved his coat. A few minutes later, Jim showed up and they were headed out the door.
"So where is this place?" Nick asked as they started walking outside.
"I think it's about two blocks that way." Jim said, pointing in the direction of where they had to go.
"You think?" Nick paused a little worried. "I thought you knew where this place was?"
"Actually, my friend told me about it. You see, I'm just visiting here. When my friend found out I was coming here, he told me about some places to check out since he's originally from the city." Jim explained trying to ease Nick's mind. "How about you? Aren't you from around here?"
"Actually, No." Nick answered easing up a bit. "I'm just visiting too."
"Doesn't make for a good combination then, I guess. You know, the two of us just visiting and not knowing where we are."
"Guess not, I was just following you." At that, both boys laughed at the situation.
"Well, nothing to fear Jake, I have an impeccable sense of direction." Jim said putting his arm around Nick's shoulder.
"That's good to know." Nick couldn't help but admire the carefree attitude Jim possessed. It was another one of his qualities Nick found attractive. "Shouldn't we be there by now? We passed two blocks already."
"Don't you worry. I know exactly where we're going." Jim confidently responded.
"OK. Well, what's this place called?"
"Oh, I think my friend said that it's called 'Stingy Lulu's.'"
"Uh oh."
"What?" Jim said laughing at Nick's perplexed face.
"You said 'you think' again."
"Alright Mr. Smarty-pants. I KNOW for a fact that the place is called 'Stingy Lulu's.' There, happy?" Jim joked.
"Oh, Ok Mr. Impeccable directions. If the place is called 'Stingy Lulu's...then we passed it about a block back." Nick stopped walking, and started to chuckle.
Jim looked back at Nick and then started walking back in the direction which they came from. After passing Nick, who still stood still, Jim turned around.
"Well, ya commin'? I told ya it was this way." Jim asked.
"What?" Nick said as he caught up to Jim and resumed their walk. "I was just following you. You were the one who passed the place."
"Na-uh. I knew where it was all along. I just enjoyed walking with you." Jim said trying to be silly. "In fact, here we are." Jim said as he pulled open the door for Nick.
As Nick passed, he turned to Jim and said, "Whatever," and rolled his eyes.
Nick looked around the place which looked like it was a restaurant by day and a bar/lounge at night. Jim walked up to the waitress and asked for a table for two. She seated them at an empty circular booth. Both boys sat down as she placed two drink menus in front of them. The both of them took off their jackets and proceeded to check out the drink menu.
"Wow. I never knew there was so many drinks out there." Nick started the conversation.
"Yeah, some of these look really good too." Jim answered. "What are you gonna have?"
"I dunno. This Red Devil thing sounds good. I think I'll get that."
"Never had that before. Sounds good though. But, I think I'll start off with a Cosmopolitan."
"A Cosmo? That's such a girrrllllllyyyy drink."
"Oh, shutup you." Jim said in his best feminine voice, while playfully slapping Nick 's arm which was resting on the table. Both boys started laughing.
"Hey, you sure they don't card here?" Nick asked pensively.
"We'll find out soon enough." Jim responded as their waitress spoke up.
"Hallo Goys. What can I getcha?" Their waitress said in her beautiful accent.
"I'll have a Cosmopolitan, and my friend here will have a Red Devil." Jim said confidently to the waitress as she finished writing their orders out on her pad.
"One Cosmo and one Red Devil coming right up." She gave them both a smile and left.
"Oh my God. She didn't card us." Nick poke as soon as he thought she was out of earshot.
"You doubt my abilities way too much." Jim said to Nick. "You see...it's all in the attitude." Jim finished by leaning back in the booth with his arms outstretched and giving nick a wink.
"You're too much dude."
"Yeah, I know." Jim responded smugly.
Just then their waitress came back with their drinks. Jim's Cosmopolitan came in the standard martini glass, while Nick's was served in one of those large glasses that milk shakes come in.
"Enjoy." The waitress said as she put down both drinks.
Nick was the first to speak. "Woah, this is HUGE."
"It's super-sized."
"I can see that. But I didn't think we were at MickyD's."
"Just drink it." Jim responded.
With that, both of them took a sip from their drink.
"This is really good. Strong, but good." Nick said.
"Oh my God." Was all Jim could say after swallowing his sip.
"What? Girly drink to strong for you?" Nick teased.
"This tastes like fire. I'm drinking fire."
"What? It's a Cosmo. It can't be that bad." Nick said as he took a sip from Jim's drink. "Shit, that is strong."
"See. Told ya."
"Well just drink it. How many people can say they've tasted fire?" Nick joked and made a toast. "To our health." Nick said picking up his glass.
"And to making new friends." Jim added as they toasted and drank some more.
Kevin sat in a booth taking a sip from a water bottle. He was tapping his foot to the beat of the loud music that emanated through the club. He and the guys arrived a few hours ago. Just then, he caught a glimpse of a sweaty Howie making his way off the dance floor, and towards him. He sat down next to Kevin trying to catch his breath.
"Hey can I get a sip Kev?" Howie asked indicating the water bottle Kevin was holding. Kevin handed him the bottle and he took a long sip. "Thanks. It's hot as hell in here." Howie said as he handed back the water bottle and moved closer to Kevin so they could hear each other.
"Yeah I know. It's 'cause you've been dancin' all night. Hope you save some of that for tomorrow."
"Don't worry Kev. I'll be fine. Plus, It's been a dry night. No drinks." Howie said proud of himself.
"Same here." Kevin responded holding up his water bottle for Howie to see. "Can't say the same for those two though." Kevin said pointing out A.J. and Brian who were going wild out on the dance floor.
Just then, a waitress came up to their table.
"Here are the two drinks you ordered Mr. Richardson." She said with a smile as she placed two glasses down on the table. Kevin returned the smile and thanked her.
"I'll take two more when you get the chance." Kevin said before the waitress left.
"I thought you said it was a dry night Kev."
"It is. These aren't for me." Kevin responded with a smile. A few seconds later, A.J. showed up and took a seat nest to Kevin in the booth. Howie gave Kevin a questioning look wondering what he was up to.
"Hey A.J." Kevin said.
"Wazzzuppp...Kevvyyy?" A.J. responded pinching Kevin's cheeks just like an old grandmother would when she saw her grandson. "Howieeeee...How ya 'doin?" A.J. asked acknowledging Howie's presence by attempting to give him a high-five.
It was obvious to Howie that A.J. was drunk and really out of it. His concentration was broken when he heard Kevin speak.
"A.J., what did I tell you about drinking?"
"Aw Kevvy, come on. I've only had two." A.J. said holding up four fingers in front of Kevin's face.
"Not that A.J." Kevin said removing A.J.'s hand from his face. "I told you not to leave your drink all alone like this." Kevin said handing A.J. one of the drinks the waitress had dropped off. "I told you not to leave it at the table like this, or else Brian will come by and finish YOUR drink."
"Doh..." A.J. said hitting his forehead with the palm of his hand. "I forgot."
"That's O.K. A.J., I've been guarding it for you." Kevin said and gave A.J. a smile.
"Thanks Kev!" A.J. said giving Kevin a side-ways hug. "You're such a good friend to meeeeeee!!!"
"No prob. A.J. Now finish your drink cause I think I see Brian coming."
"Oh No! Where?" A.J. said as he turned towards the dance floor and spotted Brian, or who he perceived to be Brian in his drunken state.
At that point, Howie caught on to what Kevin was doing and decided to join in the fun.
"A.J." Howie said trying to get A.J.'s attention.
"Huh?" A.J. spun back around trying to focus on Howie.
"Kev's right. Brian told me earlier how he wanted to finish your drink. I betcha that's why he's on his way here now." Howie said trying to keep a straight face.
"That BASTARD!" A.J. slurred.
"You better hurry 'cause he's coming." Kevin said. A.J. chugged his drink without stopping until it was finished. A.J. put down the empty glass and wiped his mouth dry with the back of his hand. "Now get outta here before he sees you A.J."
"Right!" A.J. responded and stood up from the booth.
He made his way back towards the dance floor. As he passed Brian, who was on his way towards the booth, they looked at each other and exchanged dirty looks. As soon as A.J. turned away, Brian rushed towards Kevin and Howie.
"Did he drink it?" Brian asked frantically towards Kevin.
"No Brian." Kevin said as he grinned at Howie. "You're lucky. A.J. was going to, but Howie here protected your drink for you." As soon as Howie heard Kevin's response, he knew immediately that he must have been playing the same joke on Brian as he did on A.J.
As Brian turned towards Howie, Howie spoke up.
"Yeah Brian that's true. A.J. was going to drink your drink but I had to stop him." Howie responded handing Brian the other drink.
"That BASTARD!" Brian responded.
"I know. But you know better than to just leave your drink all by itself like this Brian Littrell!!!" Howie said pretending to scold Brian.
"I don't know what I was thinking. Thanks Howie!!! I promise not to do it again." Brian finished and gave Howie the same side-ways hug A.J. gave Kevin earlier.
"That's O.K. Brian. Just finish your drink."
Brian finished his drink just as A.J. did. He went back towards the dance floor after thanking Kevin and Howie.
"So how long has this been going on?" Howie questioned Kevin.
"Um...all night."
"All night? How many drinks have they had?
Just then, the waitress came back with two more drinks and placed them on the table. Kevin thanked her again and asked for another round. He turned back towards Howie to answer his question.
"This will be six."
"Six?" Howie questioned. "Well that's not too bad. What does that make? Three a piece? I thought their tolerance was way higher than that."
"No Howie, six each." Kevin corrected a little embarrassed at what he'd done.
"Six each?" Howie said surprised. "No wonder. You know we have a long day tomorrow right?"
"Yeah, I know." Kevin said in a matter of fact tone.
"And you're still doing this?"
"Yeah."
"Kev, that's just plain mean!!!" Howie started laughing uncontrollably as he thought about the pain those two would be in tomorrow. "What did they ever do to you?"
"Don't you mean 'to us" Howie? They kicked our ass in B-ball this afternoon and rubbed it all in our face during dinner. Or did you forget?"
"Naw, I didn't forget."
"Well...payback's a BITCH!!!" Kevin said with a smile on his face.
"Hey Kev." Howie spoke.
"Yeah D?"
"Remind me never to get on your bad side."
Both of them started laughing as they continued their little game.
Slurrrppp...Slurrrppp...was the sound that came from Jim's straw as he finished his drink. Nick sat across from him laughing and snorting as he heard the sound.
"Ahhhhh...That one was good." Jim said, "What's next?"
"I don't know." Nick answered. "I stopped being able to read the menu three drinks ago." They both doubled over in laughter as Nick answered his question. " 'sides, I chose the last time. It's your turn."
"I can't read the menu either. Maybe we can just point to one and hope it's good." More laughter, from the two, ensued.
"Whatever. Just hurry and choose 'cause I'm almost out." Nick said pointing to his half-empty glass.
"ANASTASIA!!!" Jim called out to their waitress. They had befriended her a few drinks back, and was now their buddy and source of alcohol.
"What can I get you guys next?" Anastasia asked.
"We're not sure, but Jake here..." Jim said pointing towards Nick, as Nick raised his hand up in the air as if he was in school, "...is almost out so it has to be quick."
"Alright. Quick you say. How about some shots then to cap off the night?"
"Perfect. YOU ROCK Anastasia." Jim said slurring slightly.
"Ooooohhhh...shots!!!" Nick said with glee as he clapped his hands over and over.
"So what kind of shots are you in the mood for?" She asked not being able to hold back laughing at the state the two boys were in.
"I know...How about a...Blowjob?" Jim said glaring straight at Nick. The two of them had been exchanging flirtatious comments all night. This time it was Jim's turn to make Nick blush.
Nick almost spat out his drink as he heard what Jim asked for.
"A Blowjob?" Anastasia questioned. "You sure you two studs can handle that?"
"Yes. My friend and I would like two Blowjobs." Jim said noticeably louder causing the people around them to turn around with curiosity. This made Nick turn even redder as he sank down into his seat attempting to hide.
"Two Blowjobs coming up...or should I say going 'down'???" Anastasia said throwing in her own witty comment. This made the two break into more laughter. "You two cuties are too much!!!" She went off towards the bar to get them their shots.
"I can't believe you just did that. I can't believe she just said that. I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone." Nick said after calming down a bit.
"What?" Jim asked giving Nick an innocent look. "Blowjobs are real good Jake. Don't you enjoy a good Blowjob now and then?" Jim said, while rubbing his leg against Nick's, trying to embarrass him further with his sexual innuendoes.
"Well...Yeah." Was all Nick could say as he turned a deeper shade of red. "Is it me, or is it getting hotter in here?"
"Oh, something is definitely hot at this table." Jim said raising his foot further up Nick's leg.
Anastasia came back with two large shot glasses filled to the brim with a creamy white liquid. Nick and Jim looked at each other, knowing what the other was thinking, and broke into laughter.
"Here you go guys. Enjoy your Blowjobs." Anastasia said sharing in their joke. "Let me know when you're ready for the check." She said and walked away.
Jim handed Nick one of the shot glasses. Nick took it from him and held it in his hand trying not to spill any of it.
"Hey Jake?" Jim asked.
"Yeah?" Nick responded.
"I just gave you a Blowjob." He said pointing to the drink Nick held in his hand. Nick understood Jim's joke but kept a serious face as he locked eyes with Jim once again.
"Why Thank you Jim. I hope you enjoy yours and that it goes down smoothly as you swallow." Nick said in a seductive voice.
"Touche." They both toasted their glasses and downed the shots.
"It's getting late Kev." Howie said leaning into Kevin's ear.
"Awww...I was having so much fun!"
"Me too, but we should get out of here. I don't know about you, but I wanna get some sleep tonight."
"Yeah, you're right. I'll grab A.J. You go and get Brian. I'll Meet you inside the limo."
"Deal." Howie responded as he left to collect Brian.
Nick and Jim walked out of Stingy Lulu's after taking care of the bill and leaving Anastasia a generous tip. Nick leaned against the side of the building, while Jim faced him. It was late in the night so the street was quiet.
"I can't believe you gave her a hug and a kiss." Nick said to Jim. "Are you always that friendly?"
"Only to those people I really, really like." Jim said moving closer to Nick and staring directly into his eyes. "And, to waitresses who promote underage drinking." Jim gave Nick a killer smile as they both broke into another laughing fit for the hundredth time tonight.
"You think she knew?" Nick asked after their laughter ceased.
"Knew what? About us?" Jim said reestablishing eye contact with Nick.
"Us?" Nick questioned as his heart started to race. He looked into Jim's eyes and knew what he wanted. What they both wanted. Nick's mind and emotions switched into overdrive. His head began to cloud over from the effects of the alcohol. He knew what his body wanted, but his mind refused to let him have it. The line between thought and desire was blurred for Nick.
"Yeah...what about 'us'?" Jim asked slower and more seductively.
Nick needed a way out. He needed to think. He needed everything to stop spinning.
"Um..." Nick started nervously. 'Think Nick, Think.' He said to himself. "...about us...being underage." Nick answered letting out a sigh of relief.
"Oh," Jim said not expecting Nick's answer, "well, she probably did. But I think she was too overcome by our killer good looks to even bother." Jim joked half-heartedly hoping to regain the moment Nick lost.
"Good looks?" Nick questioned as he could feel the grasp the alcohol had on him tighten. "I think it was more like your cute smile." Nick said as he touched his finger to Jim's bottom lip.
"Kev. Keep A.J. near the window." Howie ordered as he moved Brian to the window opposite Kevin and A.J.
"Right. God, they both look like they're gonna puke." Kevin said placing A.J. closer to the window.
They had left the club about fifteen minutes ago and were sure that the motions of the limousine ride weren't mixing well with the effects the alcohol had on Brian and A.J. The limo came to a stop at a red light, and A.J. and Brian were thankful.
A.J. opened his eyes as he heard Howie and Kevin talking. He stared out the window trying to focus his vision on something, to try and stop his spinning vision. He focused on two people standing outside of what looked like a bar.
'Hey that guy looks just like Nick.' A.J. thought to himself. 'What's he doing there? Yoo Hoo Nick...It's A.J. I'm right here. Where were you tonight? We had fun!!! Who's your friend? And why is he eating your finger. Hey! You! Don't eat Nick's finger.' A.J. said as he finished his mental conversation.
Jim felt Nick's finger touch his lower lip. As soon as Nick made contact, Jim looked straight into Nick's eyes and put his lips together to kiss Nick's finger.
Nick felt a shudder of erotic pleasure run through his entire body as Jim's lips made contact with his fingertip. He felt all of his reservations disappear as Jim pushed closer to him. Nick closed his eyes knowing what was about to happen. He pulled his finger away from Jim's lips as he gave in to his desires.
Jim leaned in closer to Nick. Jim made contact with Nick's lips. Nick lowered his hands to Jim's waist and pulled him closer, inviting him to go further. Jim accepted his invitation by parting his lips and extending his tongue slightly so that he could feel the full force of Nick's kiss. Nick accepted Jim's tongue and touched it with his own. Nick let out a low moan, and drew in a quick breath as his tongue made contact with Jim's, realizing he had forgotten to take a breath until now.
A.J. kept staring out the window of the limousine, and continued his mental musings. 'Oh My God. Nick move out of the way. Your friend is going to kiss you. Oh man, you're friend's cute. Wait...No..WAIT...why is he kissing you Nick? And why are you kissing him back?' A.J. tilted his head in thought as the limousine started to move.
'Oh my God...OH MY GOD...'A.J. thought as the realization of the scene before him hit.
"OH MY GOD!!!" A.J. screamed interrupting Kevin and Howie's conversation.
Howie and Kevin both turned their attention to A.J. as they heard him scream.
"A.J. are you alright?" Kevin said as he grabbed the hysterical A.J.
"OH MY GOD...OH MY GOD..." A.J. repeated over and over.
"A.J.!!! Are you O.K. man?" Kevin asked trying to calm down A.J.
"OH MY GOD...KEVIN...KEVIN" A.J. stuttered.
"What is it?" Kevin asked starting to get worried.
"Is he alright?" Howie asked as he attended to Brian who was now moaning in pain.
"Kevin...Kevin..." A.J. rambled on.
"A.J. calm down. I'm right here. What is it?"
"Kevin...It's B...IT'S BEEEEEEEE...B...B...B!!!" A.J. finally got out, referring back to the conversation he and Kevin shared back at the hotel.
"What?" Kevin responded not understanding what A.J. was saying.
"It's BEEEEEE!!!" A.J. repeated even louder as he started to bounce up and down.
"What's B, A.J.?" Kevin asked still confused.
"Dude," Howie answered, "I think that means he has to 'B'arf."
"Oh, Right." Kevin answered as he opened the window and started to shove A.J's head out.
"Kev...No!!!" A.J. tried to protest but was too weak as Kevin shoved his head towards the open window.
"A.J., if you're gonna puke, you've gotta do it outside." Kevin finished his sentence and shoved A.J.'s head out the window.
"Kevin...No...It's B...Nick's..." A.J. started but all of a sudden he heard a puking sound coming from the other side of the limousine as Howie held Brian's head in the same position Kevin held A.J.'s. A.J. started to feel sick at all the movement on top of hearing the vomiting noise.
"Kev...Nick's..." A.J. tried to tell Kevin once more, but his stomach overpowered him and caused him to yak outside the window.
As soon as Brian and A.J. finished vomiting. Howie and Kevin pulled them back inside, respectively. Brian sat back clutching his stomach, as Kevin sat A.J. back in the seat. Kevin grabbed a water bottle from the mini-bar to give to A.J.
"Kev..." A.J. started again.
"Drink the water A.J." Kevin said as he placed the bottle near A.J's mouth. A.J. didn't move to take the drink. "A.J., Wake up A.J." Kevin said trying to wake him, but he had passed out unable to share his findings with Kevin.
Nick could feel himself give in to Jim's kiss. Up until now, he had never experienced anything like it. Kissing wasn't a foreign act to Nick. He had done it before, but only with girls. Now, he was here kissing another man. As long as the kiss lasted, all he could think about was how different it felt. Despite his feelings though, somehow it felt right to Nick. It felt like he was missing something and had found it in Jim's kiss.
It was slow, but forceful at the same time. His lips were soft, but not as soft as a girls was. Nick could smell the slight trace of Jim's cologne even though it was heavily masked by the natural odor of his body. Jim's kiss was perfectly balanced with both the right amounts of lust and love. For Nick, it was indescribable.
Just as Nick gave in to his feelings and the new emotions that came with the kiss, it was over. Nick kept his eyes shut as he was still caught in the moment. Just as he was about to open them, he felt a warmth on his neck, followed by wetness. This new feeling caused Nick to draw in a sharp breath. Needless to say, his eyes remained shut. Nick was now physically aroused by Jim's actions which showed as his heart rate jumped for the tenth time tonight, since he met Jim. He could feel Jim's breath as he exhaled from taking in Nick's scent.
Nick could feel the warmth migrate up his neck and towards his left ear. Nick shuddered as he thought about what would come next. He didn't have to wait long to find out as he felt his earlobe being engulfed into the warmth. That warmth outlined Nick's ear until it stopped. All Nick could feel and hear now was his new friend's breath. Still, Nick could not bear to open his eyes. He was afraid that this dream would end.
Nick was paralyzed by the awe and wonder of his first kiss. His concentration was broken only by the sound of Jim's voice. He willed himself to focus only on that sound.
"Let's go somewhere." Jim whispered into Nick's ear.
"Where?" Nick exhaled.
"You'll see." Jim said as he returned his lips to Nick's neck.
Unable to escape the trap Nick's logic and reason were caught in, he simply granted Jim's request.
So, what did you think? What do you think so far? What did you like? Who do you like? Who's Jim and why is he kissing Nick? What's gonna happen? Just when it's getting good...it get's cut off. Why???
I wanna hear from all of ya reading this. I'm kinda curious as to where you think the story is going, or where you'd like it to go. Or if you hate the story. I have a plan for the story and know where it will end up, I think, but it seems like as I keep writing, the path tends to swerve and get more interesting. But nothing is set in stone.
Lastly, I'd like to thank all of you who wrote me. I love hearing from you guys and can't wait to hear what you think of this chapter. Like I said, I am an avid reader of the nifty archive but never wrote any of the authors. Now that I've converted I've actually begun a dialogue with some of my favorite authors. And they're really cool!!! Hi guys!!!
Just wanna give a special shout out to a certain someone in SJ who likes to wear shorts for not gagging. He's a great author and a great friend. Check his story "Not Meant to Be" out. Special mention to Drew and Carter for your comments and criticisms, especially the criticisms you guys make me a better writer!!!
Lucas Out...till next time!!!
