Howdy ho, folks! Well, due to a huge response to the last section, I hurried to get a new one out. I got the best response ever from the last section. I was told that I had "finally written a sex scene worth jacking off to". That thrilled my little gay self unbelievably. Thank you, Matt! I've also made some wonderful new 'net friends as well, so shout out's to them all. They know who they are. Shout out especially to Gaz. "The Shoot" rocks, babes. Just remember--no S&M for moi! Well, I don't have much more to add here, so here goes: I don't know the BSB, or any other celebrity that may or may not be mentioned here. I'd fuck 'em all, but that's beyond the point. If you have any questions, answers, or want to say you hated or loved the story, you can e-mail me at bbbrokworknprog@aol.com! I love e-mail and everyone will get a response, so feel free anytime! Enjoy.....
"I might be the way everybody likes to say. I know whatcha thinkin' about me. There might be a day, you might have a certain way. But you don't have my luxuries. And it's me you know. I know my name 'cause I say it proud. Everything I want, I always do. Lookin' for the right track, always on the wrong track. But are you catchin' all these tracks that I'm layin' down for you? There's a song I was listening to. Up all night, there's a voice I'm hearing, saying it's alright. When I'm happy I am sad. But everything's good. It's not that complicated, I'm just misunderstood."

Bad Boy B-Rok All In The Family By-Lep
(Part Nineteen)
"Yeah, so basically my manager just wants to give up on every aspect of my career. I don't have the first clue what I'm going to do now, and you don't have a talk show anymore, so I'm screwed there." I finally took a breath.
"Well, sounds like you've got a bit of a problem, there." Rosie replied.
We were laid out on lounges on my deck, watching the kids play in the yard a few feet below. Rosie was in L.A. for business and a short holiday, and as I had promised a couple months ago, she brought the kids over for a "play date". The kids seemed to be having a swell time, I on the other hand was still upset with myself for firing Barb. I knew I wasn't prepared to have done it, but things were going to have to change. I couldn't have someone telling me every day that my career was ending.
Originally, Rosie and I just discussed parenthood, our love lives, our friends, and other pleasant topics. When Rosie had asked me how the professional life was going, I went into a rant about how my career was definitely over now that I shot my mouth off to Barb. Rosie seemed very skeptical about my career coming to an end any time soon. However, she shared my concern of not having any representation.
"If I did have my show still, I'd definitely have you back on again." Rosie offered. "However, it sounds like you're going to have to come up with something else."
"I don't know where I'm going to find a new manager, Ro. Who's going to want to represent me? The first movie I was going to be in for over a year has now been shelved."
"That is bad news..."
"Maybe Barb was right. Maybe I'm just washed up." I sighed.
"You always seemed very personable on the show every time you came on. Why can't you represent yourself--like you told Barbara you were going to?" She suggested.
"Yeah, right!" I laughed nervously. "I was just spouting off. I really don't have the first clue about managerial duties."
"It can't be that hard. I've known some very famous folks with no managers." Rosie laughed with me.
"I guess that's true. But if I'm going to be my own publicity machine, I can't be my own manager, too."
Rosie laid back, staring up at the sky, as if not sure what to say to help me out. Frankly, I couldn't think of anything else to say about my situation, so I just laid back and shut my mouth as well. The sounds of the three kids kept it from being completely peaceful. However, if they weren't making noise, it would have worried me.
"I have a friend out here that is trying to get into the business. He might be able to help you." Rosie stated out of the blue.
"An actor?" I was confused.
"No. A manager. He doesn't have many folks he represents, but he's brilliant. He could help you by being your manager, and you could help him by getting his foot in the door."
"I don't want an amateur. If I'm going to do that, I may as well do it myself." I joked.
"Well, he may be new, but he just needs a chance. I don't think you'll be disappointed."
"I don't know..."
"Listen, give him a chance. If it doesn't work, fire him, too." Rosie laughed.
I kept quiet for a bit, truly considering if I wanted to try a "newbie" or not. A person new to the game might be good 'cause they have the initial ambition and drive that is needed in the business. However, how was he going to help me if he didn't even have any connections yet? Then again, Rosie was right that I could just fire him if it didn't work out.
"What's his name?"
"Garrett."
"What's he like?"
"He's nice. Um, he's very smart, kind, great personality. Very dashing, ofcourse."
"Dashing?"
"Tall, blonde, toned, you know the type." Rosie waved her hand at me.
"He's not an old fart is he?"
"You think anyone over thirty is old, Matt."
"Thirty-two, thank you." I teased.
"Well, he's twenty-seven-years old. So, no he's not an old fart."
"Good. Just give me his number before you leave and I'll give him a call sometime." I replied.
"You won't regret it." Her triumphant smile could have lit a room.
"Daddy's home!" Booker screeched.
He had been standing by my side at the stove while I made some dinner, but as soon as the door opened, he took off to hug Brian. Dinner basically consisted of what I could find in the pantry that looked like it could be mixed together. I had to be honest that it just didn't look very appetizing. Then again, cooking wasn't my strong suit. That's why I was an actor. A few moments after Booker had run to get Brian, they returned together, Booker on Brian's back.
"Hey, daddy." Brian smiled and came up behind me, giving me a peck on the cheek.
"Hey there. I made dinner."
"What is it?" Brian looked over my shoulder.
"Something with pasta." I shrugged my shoulders.
"McDonald's?" He asked.
"Yeah, that'll work." I sighed and turned off the stove.
"Go put some shoes on, buddy." Booker was lowered from Brian's back.
"Okay!" He squealed his response and ran off to his room happily.
Brian waited until he could tell Booker was at the other end of the house, then moved in close to me, wrapping his arms around my waist. He moved his face towards mine until our noses were almost touching.
"So, how was your day, baby?" Brian asked in a deep voice, making me chuckle.
"Just swell, sexy." I replied, wrapping my arms around his neck.
"How was Rosie?" The question was punctuated with a kiss.
"Just fabulous." I kissed him back.
"Did the kids get along?" Brian gripped my waist hard and lifted me up until I was sitting on the cabinet.
I somewhat giggled and grunted at the same time.
"Famously." I leaned down and kissed him on the forehead.
Brian just smiled at me, then buried his face in my neck. I ran my fingers thru his hair as he nibbled and sucked at the nape of my neck.
"She suggested I contact her friend. He's a new guy in town." I hissed as Brian bit me slightly. "She said he's a damn good manager."
"Maybe you should call him." Brian suggested, then kissed me on the lips before going to the other side of my neck.
"I plan on it." I wrapped my legs around his waist.
Brian began to run a hand up the front of my shirt. The only thing I could do was moan my approval as he pinched my right nipple. Brian moved his hand to my belt before I came to my senses.
"Hold up, baby." I grabbed his hand and pulled back from him.
"What?" Brian gave me his sly grin.
"Booker will be back in here any second." I kissed him on the nose and hopped down from the sink.
"Go get him." Brian pushed me out of the kitchen with a slap on my ass.
"Ooooh, watch out now. You know I like that kinky stuff." I teased as I walked back into the dining room.
Booker was already waiting on me. He was sitting at a chair in the dining room, trying to get his shoes tied.
"Daddy, help me." Booker groaned, tired of trying.
"Otay, buddy."
I knelt down in front of him, and showed him how to tie laced shoes again. Booker watched with fascination, as if it were magic.
"Thanks, daddy!" Booker beamed.
"You're welcome, buddy." I replied as Brian joined us. "Now, we need to get to McDonald's and eat. Your uncle Kevin and Uncle Howie are coming to see us tonight."
Booker squealed his approval.
"Their flight arrives in like an hour and a half, baby." Brian looked at his watch as I stood.
"Then we better get going, huh?" I pulled Booker up and carried him towards the door that led into the garage.
"Daddy, where Unca Kevin an Unca Howdy?" Booker made me smile at his pronunciation.
It was late in the evening, so I knew being tired had alot to do with it, too.
"I don't know. Brian's trying to find them." I replied, and leaned back in the seat we were sitting in, cradling him to me.
"Okay." Booker sighed and let his head roll onto my side.
Booker and I sat, waiting on Brian to find Kevin and Howie. When we had first gotten inside the airport, Booker had started dragging his feet, signaling he was tired. It also meant that if he didn't get to rest, he was going to throw a tantrum. Brian had volunteered to brave it and find the guys on his own, knowing full well he would probably be attacked by fans if he wasn't careful. That went over fine with Booker and I. Frankly, resting my feet made me happy, too.
I didn't want to get too tired, especially since all five guys and myself were supposed to sit up together tonight and play "catch up". Nick and A.J. had made themselves scarce for the last little while, trying to give Brian and I space. We definitely appreciated it. They were still staying at our house, but they were definitely giving us room to be a couple. However, with Kevin and Howie finally coming out to visit, all of us had to get together for drinks and talking.
Before too long, I saw three guys running towards us, with a throng of all ages of women chasing them. Even if I didn't recognize the guys, I would've known from the crowd following them that that was my que to get up and go.
"Come on, buddy." I scooped Booker up so quickly I probably gave him whiplash.
I began running towards the exit, the guys still quite a bit behind me. Booker was holding tightly to my neck, looking terrified.
"It's okay, buddy." I couldn't help but laugh a bit as we ran thru the sliding glass doors, towards the parking lot.
"Stop, daddy!" Booker squealed.
"When we get to the car." I huffed, realizing we were only a hundred feet away.
As soon as I got us to the car, I opened the driver's side door and and jumped in. I set Booker in the passenger side seat, and strapped him in quickly. Quickly, I backed the car out out of the parking spot with a squeal of tires. As soon as I was turned and facing down the row of cards, both back doors flew open. Booker looked stunned as Kevin, Howie and Brian jumped into the backseat and slammed the doors shut.
"Drive!" Howie laughed loudly, out of breath.
I didn't wait for him to say it again. My foot hit the gas and we peeled out.
"Damn. I hate that." Kevin stated simply, not the least bit out of breath.
"How perfectly explained." Brian laughed, then leaned up to kiss me on the cheek.
"Nice footwork from Matt, I must say." Howie was still breathing heavy as I hit the highway and slowed down to the regular speed limit.
"No kidding. Who would have thunk Matt could move so quick?" Brian helped teased me.
"Booker, how'd you like to help me beat up daddy?" I looked over at Booker.
"Nuh uh, daddy!" Booker seemed to catch on that it was a joke, laughing with me.
(Part Twenty)
"Pass me another beer, par favor." Howie held a hand out to Brian.
"Damn D., you planning on getting drunk or what?" Brian laughed as he took off towards the kitchen.
"Yeah, that's like your fifth one in the last hour." Nick slapped Howie on the thigh.
"Leave Howie alone. If he wants to get fubar, that's his choice. Unless he pukes on my couch." I winked at him.
"Awww, thanks Matt. You're such a pal." Howie teased back.
I lounged in my big comfy chair, Kevin in the chair next to me. Howie, Nick and A.J. were taking up the couch. The couch was so big, that even with three full grown guys sprawled out, there was enough room for a few more. Brian finally came back in the room, a six back in his hand. He quickly distributed one to each of us, keeping one for himself.
"Ah, now I'm comfy." Brian moaned as he sat down in the chair next to me, burying himself against me.
"And I'm not." I ruffled his hair, only teasing him.
"Deal with it." He sighed and took a sip of his beer.
"You two are so cute." A.J. stated with a grin.
"Wish we could return the compliment." Brian winked.
The six of us stayed in our sprawled out, comfortable positions in silence. We all just sipped on our beers, glad we could all relax and just chill as a group. As always, silence proved too strong for Nick.
"Brian?" He sat up.
"What?" Brian barely moved.
"Truth or Dare?"
I busted out in laughter as Nick asked.
"What?" Nick gave me an innocent look.
"Are we all thirteen?" I replied, still chuckling.
"I want to play!" Howie raised a drunken arm.
"Me, too!" A.J. agreed.
"Alright, I'm game." Brian got up and perched on the arm of my chair.
Kevin and I just looked over at each other. He gave me a look that screamed 'should we?', and I just responded with a resigned nod of my head.
"Okay." We laughed at each other as we responded in unison.
"Well, then?" Nick looked over at Brian.
"Just don't do anything that will wake up the young, impressionable child."
I got head nods from all the other guys, so I sat back, satisfied that we'd all behave. Well, somewhat.
"Dare." Brian had a twinkle in his eye.
"I dare you to strip and run out thru the backyard." Nick grinned evily.
"Oh great, we all get to go blind." Howie threw his arms up.
I couldn't help but laugh with the guys as Brian got up and tore off his shirt defiantly.
"Take it off, baby." I reached out and tugged at the waist of his shorts.
"Don't rush me!" Brian lisped.
We all watched as Brian yanked his shorts off, gave a quick smile, then pulled his boxers off, exposing himself to us. I didn't have time to say anything. He tore off to the sliding glass doors, and before I knew it, he was running around our backyard, completely nude, waving his arms over his head.
"Oh good lord. I hope the neighbors like seeing nude men running around like idiots." I buried my head in my hands to keep from laughing.
"I'm sure they won't mind too much." Kevin took a sip of his beer.
"I know I don't." Nick stood up so he could watch Brian out the window.
"Sit down, boy." A.J. yanked him back onto the sofa with a laugh.
I clapped slightly for Brian as he streaked back into the house and pulled his boxers back on.
"Good job, baby." I rolled my eyes at him.
"Why thank you." Brian laughed, slightly out of breath, then sat back down on the arm of the chair after putting the rest of his clothes back on.
"You're turn." Nick stated before drinking some more beer.
"Okay, um...." Brian looked down at me.
"Think again." I snorted.
"Fine." He laughed. "Howie?"
"Oh sweet jebus!" Howie acted like he was drunk.
Well, maybe it wasn't an act.
"Truth or Dare?" Brian asked the obvious question.
"Truth." Howie took the easy way out, getting groans from everyone.
"Pussy." Brian said under his breath. "Alright. Um, how many people have you slept with?"
Howie visibly how to think about this. He looked up at the ceiling, squinting his eyes.
"I've slept with five girls." He replied slowly. "And one guy."
I know all our mouths hit the floor. Kevin, however, just sat there, unfazed.
"You make a lousy liar, Howie." Kevin stated evenly.
"I know." Howie admitted he was lying.
"You're such an ass!" A.J. punched him in the arm with a laugh.
"Ow! Just five girls." Howie rubbed his arm, giggling. "Kevin, Truth or Dare?"
"Dare." Kevin drawled as he pulled his lips away from the mouth of his beer bottle.
"I dare you to whip it out." Howie had all of us laughing.
"That's not fair!" Kevin's face turned red, but he couldn't help but give a nervous laugh.
"You can't turn it down. You said dare." Nick jiggled his head at Kevin.
"You guys suck." Kevin slammed his beer down on the end table with a laugh and stood.
Everyone but me began to give catcalls as Kevin reached for his zipper.
"That is so wrong." I laughed as Kevin's face got more red.
"Tell me about it." Kevin mumbled, but seemed to appreciate that I wasn't heckling him.
Actually, I wanted to see how well endowed Kevin was, but I had to turn my head as he fished into his pants. All the guys began to hoot and holler loudly, so I knew that Kevin must have pulled his cock out.
"Keep it down, guys. You'll wake the child." I stated, still keeping my head turned.
"It's okay, Matt. I'm done now." Kevin stated shakily, as if embarassed.
I turned my head back to see he was zipped up and lowering himself back into his seat.
"Thank goodness." I teased.
"Atleast someone here is a gentleman." Kevin was still red, but slowly getting a normal color back.
"Oh please." Brian lisped and slapped Kevin on the knee.
"Just pick someone so you don't have to listen to them, Kev." I laughed.
"Nick?"
"Yes ma'am?" Nick teased.
"Truth or Dare?"
"Dare, ofcourse."
I don't think Kevin was prepared to come up with a dare. He seemed stunned, and at a loss for what to do. After about twenty seconds, I took pity on him and got up. I walked over to Kevin's chair and sat down on the arm, leaning down to his ear. Kevin's cheeks widened as he smiled from my whispering.
"That is so cruel." Kevin pulled away and looked squarely at me.
"I know, that's why you have to use it." I replied, and pulled my legs up, stretching them across the chair to the other arm.
"Okay, Nick." Kevin laid his arms on my legs for a rest, and stared at Nick.
"Well, I wasn't worried until Matt got involved." Nick looked nervous, but still smiling.
"You have to make out with Howie." Kevin blushed again.
"With tongue, baby." I finished the dare for him with an evil grin.
Everyone laughed as Howie made a gagging noise. Nick rolled his eyes, thoroughly unamused.
"That's so simple." Nick tried to act tough.
"Then do it, smartass." Kevin said it before I could.
"Very good, boy." I commended Kevin on his reply.
He just smiled up at me, holding my legs to his body tighter, as if for protection from the perverts.
"Fine, let's just do this." Howie waved Nick over.
Nick got up slowly from his seat and sat down next to Howie at the other end of the couch. Howie shut his eyes tight, and waited. I tried not to laugh as Nick made several false starts towards Howie's mouth. It took a good minute before their lips touched. The rest of us began cheering, as lowly as possible, as Nick pried Howie's mouth open with his tongue.
"Okay, that's enough." Howie ended the kiss after a few tongue swirls.
"Thank God." Nick jumped up and went back over to his seat quickly.
"I was starting to get turned on. Best to end it quickly." Howie teased Nick with a lisp.
"Oh shut up." Nick groaned and buried his head in A.J.'s chest. "He scared me bad, baby."
"It's okay now. I'll keep you safe." A.J. laughed and kissed the back of Nick's head.
"Good. Now Truth or Dare." Nick looked up at him.
"You suck!
"I know, very well, too."
"Fine, truth." A.J. replied, sticking his tongue out.
"Speaking of sucking....who here gives better head? Matt, Brian, or me?" Nick asked slyly.
"Nick!" Brian gasped.
"What?"
"Do you have to fill the two heteros in on our sexcapades?" Brian looked embarassed.
I was not surprised the least. Kevin rubbed one of my knees, as if letting me know he wouldn't hold anything against me.
"Well, you and Brian are good fucking and getting fucked. But, Matt gives the best head." A.J. answered as if Nick hadn't asked a completely embarassing question.
"Why's that?" Nick didn't seem to mind he picked me over him.
"He's the only one that can take it all." A.J. shrugged his shoulders.
"Oh great, now I'm deepthroat." I sighed.
Kevin rubbed my knee again.
"He is pretty good." Brian and A.J. answered almost simultaneously, making everyone but Kevin and I laugh.
"Okay. I think Kevin and Howie don't need to hear anymore about my sex life." I chastised them all.
"Fine, then Truth or Dare?" A.J. looked over at me.
"Well, I think everyone's heard enough truth about me. I'll say dare." I replied.
"Make him kiss Kevin!" Nick jumped up and pointed at Kevin and I.
"Bitter much?" I replied.
"Hell yes!" Nick sat back down with a laugh.
A.J. thought about it for a minute, rubbing his chin for evil emphasis.
"Yeah, that sounds fair." A.J. grinned at us.
"Don't you think Kevin has been embarassed enough tonight?" I replied.
"Not really." Brian sat up in his chair, watching us closely.
"Just wait until it's your turn, A.J." I snarled and looked down at Kevin. "You okay with this?"
"I guess. Do you think they'd let us get out of it anyway?" Kevin drawled.
It was quite a compliment to me that he didn't gag like Howie. Slowly, I leaned down as Kevin leaned up, his mouth slightly open. All the guys seemed to lean forward at the same time, watching us. I almost laughed, but quickly gave Kevin a quick kiss on the lips, then pulled away just as quickly.
"Hey, that's not what you were dared to do." Nick was standing again, but smiling.
"Kevin, did they not say I had to kiss you?" I looked down at him.
"I think that's all they told you to do." Kevin looked smug.
"Well, that's what we did. You can't argue with that, can you?" I asked him again.
"Nope, sure can't." Kevin crossed his eyes and stuck his tongue out at Nick.
"Ya'll suck." Nick plopped back down on the couch.
"Not until the next dare." Kevin almost made me fall off the arm of the chair.
"No more beer for you." I tried to take his bottle of beer away.
"Just a joke." Kevin blushed.
"Take my turn for me Brian while I go check on the kid and get more beers." I got up from my seat with Kevin.
"Okay."
All the guys booed me as I got up and made my way out of the room. I just flipped them off from over my shoulder as I left the room. The rest of the house seemed very quiet, even with the guys making noise in the other room. Without going to Booker's room, I was sure he was still asleep, but I went down the hall anyway.
A quick look thru the crack in his door proved he was still in bed and fast asleep. The door made a "clicking" noise as I shut it completely. The noise would probably be less likely to wake him up with the door to his room shut.
As to not piss off the guys more, I made my way back to the kitchen quickly. I grabbed a six pack of beer from the fridge, touching one of the bottles to make sure they were cold. The guys all seemed engrossed in Nick telling about his first time--with a chick at that--having sex.
"More beers, ladies." I announced blandly as I began passing out beers.
"Thanks, baby." Brian smiled up at me as I handed him a beer.
"And one for the only non-lady here." I reached over to hand Kevin a beer as I sat down with Brian.
"Awwww, gee thanks." Kevin smiled over at me before twisting the cap off his beer.
"It's Brian's turn, just to catch you up." Howie spoke directly to me.
"Oh goodie." I laughed before taking a chug of my beer. "Well, go baby."
"Okay." Brian looked at me for a second, making me nervous, then looked across me to Kevin. "Kevin, Truth or Dare."
"I'm definitely going with truth this time." Kevin winked at me.
"Wise decision." I held my beer out as if making a cheer.
"No fun, though." Brian pouted. "Um, let's see..."
While Brian thought about what to ask, I sunk down into the chair next to him, getting myself comfy. Brian moved slighly for me so I could scootch in beside him.
"I got it." Brian announced as I finally sat still, nursing my beer.
"Oh great. What?" Kevin asked nervously.
"If you had to have sex with someone in this room, who would it be?" Brian looked utterly pleased with himself.
I couldn't help it. I whinced. He had just asked the straight man which guy in the room he'd shag if he had to. Kevin's face was red--I knew it without looking. There was a very long silence. I just kept my face turned away from all the other guys, drinking my beer.
"Matt." Kevin stated evenly, without explanation.
All the guys whistled or gave cat calls, but I just ignored it. Kevin was looking down into his lap when I looked over.
"Okay, that's enough of Truth or Dare." I tried to lighten the mood with a laugh.
"Ah, why? We're getting to the good stuff now." Brian squeezed my thigh and gave me an evil grin.
"Well, ya'll can keep playing 'pick on Kevin', but I'm going to bed." I kissed Brian on the top of his head and set my beer down.
"Party pooper." Howie hiccupped, making everyone laugh.
"Night, kids." I ruffled Kevin's hair as I walked by, but didn't look at him.
"I'll be there in a bit." Brian called after me.
"Aight, baby." I replied over my shoulder.
(Part Twenty-One)
"Where ya' goin'?" Brian grabbed me around the waist and pulled me tightly to him.
"Nowhere. Just to the bathroom." I giggled.
Brian and I had just finished making love. We were both still sweaty, our glistening bodies still blotched with sexual fluids.
"I wanted to do it again." Brian kissed my neck as he reached down to grab my cock.
"We can do that." I replied. "After I pee."
"Well, if you must." Brian stated with a mischievious tone.
"I'll be right back. Make sure you're ready." I gave his bulge a quick squeeze and jumped out of bed.
"Oh, don't worry, I'll be ready." I could almost see his grin in the dark.
I made my way to the bathroom in the hall. Booker needed to be checked on, so I figured I may as well use his bathroom. Quickly my business was done, and I made my way further up the hall to his room. He was still fast asleep in his bed. I made sure to close the door again slowly as to not wake him up. I was about to turn to go back to my room when I noticed a soft light coming from the other end of the house.
When I got back down to my room, Brian was already turned on his side, fast asleep. He must've decided not to fuck me again. The door clicked as I closed it again. I had to go turn off the lights. Apparently, the guys hadn't turned out lights or cleaned up before going to bed, I figured. However, when I found the source of the light, it wasn't what I had expected. Kevin was in the den still, but alone. He was nursing a beer. I don't know how many that beer made, but by the look of his face, it was too many.
"Hey there." I walked over to him.
"Hey." He mumbled.
"You know, drinking alone is a sign of alcoholism." I stated, then sat on the arm of his chair and pulled the beer gently from his hand.
"So is drinkin' socially."
"You've got me there." I smiled.
"Yeah." Kevin sighed.
"So, what's got you up at five in the morning, drinking alone?"
"Just things."
"What kind of things? I mean, I know the beer was good, but it wasn't good enough to keep me up this late."
Kevin gave a small laugh. "Just stuff."
I wrapped my arms around his shoulders, and held him against my chest, laying my head sideways on top of his.
"It's okay, ya' know." I stated.
"Yeah." He sighed. His breath definitely reeked of beer. "I'm sorry about that."
"There's nothing to be sorry about. I know you've known the guys a long time. However, I've known them on a different level. I know how vicious they can be."
"What do you mean?"
"They turn into vicious queens when they're all three together. Especially when they know it makes others uncomfortable. They just did it to get a rise out of you." I explained further, still holding him.
"You know, you're a good guy." Kevin reached up and rubbed my forearm gently.
"I know." I giggled.
"How Brian ever got lucky enough..."
"He's one lucky bastard, ain't he?" I laughed.
"Definitely." Kevin drawled again.
"You're not too bad yourself." I kissed Kevin on top of his head, then got up.
"Thanks. I needed that." Kevin smiled, but his eyes looked misty.
"You've had too much beer, I'm afraid."
"Yeah, probably." Kevin tried to get up, but failed.
"Come on." I couldn't help but laugh as I reached down and grabbed his hands.
With much pulling on my part, Kevin was on his feet. He looked down at me groggily.
"I'm tired." He stated simply, yawning for emphasis.
"I bet. Just don't breath on me like that." I teased, then wrapped my arms around his chest to help him walk.
"Sorry. The couch. The couch is good." Kevin took a step towards the cash.
"Alright, here we go."
It took a bit of struggling, but finally, Kevin was over to the couch. He plopped down, taking me with him. We both ended up, sitting down next to each other, my arms still around him.
"You sure you don't want to go to your bed? I have satin sheets on it." I somewhat sung the last sentence for emphasis.
"Yeah. I want to sleep here." Kevin laid down on the huge couch.
The couch just seemed to engulf him. I left Kevin on the couch alone only for a minute to get the pillows and comforter from his bed. Kevin was still awake when I went into the den. He was looking out the window at something as he lay there on the couch.
"Well, if you're going to sleep here, atleast you'll be comfy." I smiled down at him.
I had to help him, but we finally got his head raised enough to shove the pillows underneath. The comforter was huge, so it took much doing to get it thrown over him evenly. I was beginning to tuck him in when Kevin grabbed my wrist and pulled me onto the couch. I laughed as he grabbed me and made me lay on my side, spooned in front of him. He grabbed the comforter and got it pulled up on top of both of us.
"Well, this is unexpected." I laughed again.
"I just need someone here."
"Brian wouldn't like finding me here with you like this." Or maybe he would, I thought.
"I'm not going to try anything...funny or anything." Kevin spoke from behind me. "I just need someone."
I knew he wouldn't. Kevin was a nice guy. Also straight, at that. So, I just nuzzled backwards a bit, getting closer to him, and laid my head on the pillows next to his. We laid there for a bit as the sky outside became a light blue with a hint of pink.
"Are you missing Kristin?" I tried to make conversation.
He had idly been running his fingertips up and down my arm, so I knew he wasn't asleep.
"Not really."
"Why not? She's your wife, afterall." I asked the obvious question, but tried not to be confrontational.
"I think she's going to divorce me."
"Already?" I was shocked.
"Yeah. She says it's just not working out. I don't know what that means."
"Please tell me she signed a prenuptual."
"Yeah. She's not doing this for money." He sighed, blowing a breath across the back of my head.
"I'm sorry." I couldn't think of anything better to say.
"Thanks." Kevin kissed the back of my head.
We laid there for a bit longer as the sky became pink and reddish, casting a warm light on us.
"You know how odd this is?" I asked playfully.
"Yeah, I know. But you're good to cuddle with." Kevin replied, wrapping his arms around me and holding me.
I don't know why, but I let Kevin cuddle me and hold me. Actually, it had been awhile since Brian had done that with me. I didn't want to have sex with Kevin, but he definitely fulfilled the romantic need in me. Kevin made me feel good to just be alive at that moment. I didn't want him, and he didn't want me, but we were both filling a need for each other. He was getting someone to console and just be with him, and I was getting someone that wanted to just be around me and not fuck me.
"Why'd you pick me?" I asked, nuzzling my head into his arm.
"What do you mean?" Kevin asked.
"Why'd you say I'd be the one you'd have sex with? Earlier tonight, I mean."
"I don't know. You're just the only guy here I know wouldn't make fun of me. Also the nicest." Kevin stated. "And I have a feeling you enjoy making love more than fucking. Like me."
"Kevin Richardson said 'fuck'!" I teased.
"I know, I'm bad." I could almost see his smile, even though he was behind me.
"I can be a bitch, ya' know. I'm not as nice and pure as you think." I was mainly serious.
"Yeah, I know you can be. It's just an act, though." Kevin replied.
How to respond didn't exactly come to me, so I just laid there. Kevin kept his arms wrapped around me, holding me.
"What do you mean?" I finally spoke up.
"You're a good guy, Matt. Don't let anyone or anything change you. Sometimes we all do things that make us think less of ourselves. But I wouldn't be laying here with you if you weren't a good guy." Kevin drawled with his country accent.
"Well you're also drunk." I replied, but not trying to be funny.
"I'm never too drunk to sleep with someone that is evil." Kevin laughed.
"Well I'd hope not." I laughed with him.
Kevin began to say something, but stopped himself. I was going to let it pass, but curiosity killed the cat and all that noise.
"What were you going to say?" I asked.
"Well, you'll take it wrong."
"No, I won't."
"Promise?" Kevin followed up quickly.
"Definitely."
"I think I made a mistake marrying Kristin. Maybe I should have found someone like you." Kevin said it so quickly I almost missed it.
"Someone like me?"
"Um, yeah."
"Like, my personality, or a guy?"
"I don't know what I mean." Kevin shook his head.
"Beginning to think you're a 'mo, are ya'?"
"No. Well, I don't know. But when Kristin and I have sex, I just find it hard to, well, ya' know..."
"Cum?" I finished.
"Yeah. Maybe I'm not into girls anymore." Kevin sounded so unsure of himself. It was definitely not like him to be this insecure.
"Just 'cause she doesn't make you cum doesn't mean you don't like girls. It's probably just her. Maybe the issues you guys have are making it hard for you to be satisfied sexually with her."
"I don't know." Kevin stated, then leaned up on his right elbow until his face was over mine.
For some reason, Kevin leaned down and began to kiss me. For some reason, I didn't stop him. It just didn't feel sexual, so it didn't feel wrong. Kevin let his tongue enter my mouth. I found myself kissing him back, letting my tongue roll around with his. The kiss lasted maybe thirty seconds, but it seemed like forever. Kevin finally pulled away, then laid back down and wrapped his arms around me again. I didn't attempt to say anything, or break the silence. It wasn't an uncomfortable silence, anyway.
"Definitely not gay." Kevin sighed.
"Definitely not. I don't feel anything back there poking me, anyway." I agreed. "You're too old to be questioning your sexuality, Kev."
"I'm not that old!" Kevin laughed.
"Old enough. But atleast we did the kiss right, since the first time was totally wrong." I teased.
"Thanks for laying here with me." Kevin pulled me in tighter to him.
"No problem. But if any of the guys get the wrong idea about this, you better set them straight." I laid my arms over his.
"It's the least I can do."
"No shit." I teased.
Before long, I felt my eyelids getting heavier as Kevin's arms got tighter around me. I felt Kevin kiss the back of my head again, making me glad I'd come in to find out where the light was from. Before I passed out, I heard Kevin say "thanks, matt" sleepily, as if seconds from sleep.
I woke several hours later, with Kevin's arms still wrapped around me, holding me back against his firm body. The way the sun shone thru the windows, it looked to be noon or later. The house was very quiet. That had to be a bad thing. Booker should have been in the living room, blasting the cartoons by now. Either that, or Brian would be chasing him thru the house, making all kinds of noise.
Right when I was about to get up, I saw the note on the table. It took some doing, but I finally got my arm out of Kevin's grasp so that I could reach for the note. I pulled it off the table and held it in front of my face.
"Matt,
You and Kevin looked mighty comfy on the couch, so we didn't bother waking you guys up. All of us have gone
out shopping. Booker is with us, so don't worry. We might see a movie, so we'll probably be home around three. Maybe later.
Don't worry, Kevin does this every once in awhile. I won't get
jealous.
Love,
Brian"
Beneath Brian's name was a big smiley face with a crooked grin. It reminded me of Brian when he had an evil thought. Well, atleast I knew Brian wasn't upset finding us laying together on the couch. I didn't exactly know what he meant when he said "Kevin does this every once in awhile". I've never known Kevin to say he'd have sex with a guy, then make him lay on a couch with him.
Before I was able to think about it too much, I felt Kevin stir behind me. I opened my mouth to say "good morning", but Kevin let go of me quickly and got as far back into the couch as possible. It felt kind of odd that he was trying to get away from me now.
"You're not upset with yourself, are you?" I asked over my shoulder, concerned that he regretted opening up to me.
"Um, no." Kevin spoke quickly.
"Then, why'd you pull away like that?" I turned my head slightly and smiled.
"'Cause, um, well, because." Kevin couldn't find anything to say.
"Kevin, it's okay that you said what you said last night..." I began as I rolled over.
I stopped in mid-sentence. My knee rubbed up against something hard, and poking out from Kevin. Kevin tried to scoot back even more.
"Oh." Morning wood, what a rude awakening.
"Sorry." Kevin blushed.
"It's okay. It happens to the best of us." I smiled, but pulled my knee back quickly.
"Um, well....um, thanks for staying with me last night." Kevin spoke quickly.
"Not a problem." I replied.
I glanced up at the clock on the wall quickly to see it was only eleven in the morning.
"What say that after your little buddy calms down, we go eat lunch? The guys are all gone out shopping and won't be back 'til three." I asked him. "I'll pay."
"That sounds like fun." Kevin smiled, but was still rosy cheeked.
(Part Twenty-Two)
"What do you think of this shirt?" Kevin asked as he pulled the sleeve of the shirt away from the rack.
"It's cool, but you have to try it on for me for me to know if it'll look good on you." I replied, many articles of clothing draped over my arm in front of me.
"You're difficult to shop with." Kevin teased as he pulled the shirt off the rack and draped it over his arm.
"Didn't I keep you from buying that horrid pair of jeans?" I asked.
"Hey, those are in style now." Kevin replied blandly.
"Pre-worn, bleached-out jeans may be in style, but it's still horrid. I don't know what people are thinking."
"Yes, Siskel." Kevin teased.
"If you want those types of jeans, don't pay seventy five dollars. We'll go to Goodwill, buy some five dolla' jeans, and I'll take some bleach water after 'em." I replied.
"Well, you're probably right." Kevin admitted, rolling his shoulders.
Kevin and I had left my house and went to have lunch. The trendy restaraunts and cafe's that littered the city that was Los Angeles didn't look good to Kevin. Instead of paying for "overpriced decorative dishes that don't fill you up"--as Kevin had put it--we went to a local hamburger joint. After we had a bag full of food, we went to a park and sat in the grass to eat.
While we ate, I finally realized, after the four years I had known Kevin, that he was amazing at conversation and listening. He was quick to laugh things off, and he always made you feel good to be around him. It made me wonder why Kristin wouldn't want to be with him anymore. If I had been a chick, I would've married him. Ofcourse, what straight woman or gay man wouldn't?
After we ate, Kevin laid back against a tree while I laid flat out in front of him, smoking a cigarette. He listened to me bitch about Brian just wanting to have fun and fuck recently. I listened to him complain about Kristin being a frigid, demented bitch that treated their marriage like an inconvenience. To make Kevin feel better, I called her every name in the book for him so he wouldn't have to do it. I didn't want him to have to lose his "gentleman" image by calling her a "nasty stinking cunt", so I did it for him.
When we got tired of cussing folks, and laying in the grass, we decided to do some clothes shopping. Kevin mentioned he wanted me to help him pick out something. He wanted to do something else with his "image". I didn't know exactly what he meant by that, but was glad I was there to keep him from doing anything radical. A.J. would've destroyed him.
"How about this one?" Kevin asked again, pulling out another shirt.
I looked over to see Kevin holding out a flannel green and white shirt.
"Kevin, you're too sexy for flannel." I rolled my eyes.
"Oh." Kevin turned red.
"Flannel is comfy, but when a guy is built like you, you shouldn't cover it up with a huge flannel button down. You're not in Nirvana afterall." I laughed.
"Okay, stop embarassing me."
"Oh fine." I slapped his ass as I walked by.
"You're too much." Kevin followed me towards the changing rooms, still a bit pink.
We both found vacant dressing rooms and began trying on our clothes. Every time we had on a new outfit, we'd meet outside the curtained rooms and let each other know what we thought. Most of my clothes sucked. I was probably retaining water in my ass from all the beer the night before, so nothing looked right on me. Kevin didn't seem to be happy with anything, either.
I was sitting in one of the chairs that lined the dressing room area, waiting on Kevin before he was even close to finished. I was very close to passing out when Kevin let out a groan.
"What's wrong?" I asked, waking up slowly.
"I don't know about these pants. They're awfully tight, too." Kevin grunted. "I can't get them fastened, either."
This was followed by more grunting.
"They can't be that tight. You have a small waist, and they were in your size." I couldn't help but giggle.
"Well, they are!" Kevin laughed with me and stepped out of the dressing room with his unfastened, black suede pants on.
"Oh come on, suck it in, Kev." I laughed as I reached out and tried to fasten the pants.
Granted, the pants were actually a smaller size than what the label had said. However, I knew Kevin would fit in them. The effect of the tight suede pants were going to be hot, so I made it a challenge to fasten the pants for him. Kevin grunted and groaned as I dug in his crotch area, trying to get the complicated fastener done for him. There were strings and buttons, and snaps--it was no wonder he had had a problem. Even if they had been bigger, it would have been a chore.
"I don't think they're going to fasten, Matt." Kevin put his hands on the wall I was sitting against, bracing himself as I yanked and pulled.
"I'll get it if it's the last thing I do." I mumbled.
The next thing that happened shocked both of us. There was a bright white flash. Kevin turned his head to look, but kept his position. I kept my hands on the fasten to his pants, but looked with him. There was a photographer standing about ten feet away, snapping pics.
"Say cheese!" He said before snapping a few more pics, then running off.
"What the.." I cocked my head to look at Kevin.
"I don't know." Kevin shrugged.
It took a few seconds, but I finally realized what our position would look like in those pics. Kevin seemed to finally catch on to what I was thinking, and pulled away from me slowly.
"Well, that'll look nice in the mags, won't it?" I sighed as he backed away.
"No joke." Kevin sighed, obviously frustrated.
"I don't think those pants will fasten." I gave up.
"Ya' reckon?" Kevin drawled with a giggle.
"Oh well, no clothes for us today. I told you we should have gone to Old Navy." I teased.
"Yeah, well..." Kevin looked down. "Oh, here."
Kevin made a few quick movements, and the pants were fastened.
"I'm not even gonna ask how you figured that out." I laughed.
"This thing here loosens and tightens the waist." Kevin pointed.
"Well, another unsolved mystery solved."
"How do they look?" Kevin turned and walked towards the mirror.
I looked him over from my seat.
"Tight ass, nice bulge, works for me, sexy." I teased.
"Do you like making me blush?" Kevin asked, but didn't blush.
"Yeah. It's a hobby."
"I think I will get these." Kevin turned to look at me with a smile.
"Alright, well let's go ring the bastards up and go home. Before someone else snaps compromising pics of us, that is." I teased.
"Yeah, no joke. I can't wait to see the Enquirer next week." Kevin laughed, letting on that he didn't care.
"Oh, I'm sure that guy'll get plenty of money for those pictures." I sighed.
Kevin and I were laying on the couch together again, watching "Eyes Wide Shut" on HBO. I don't know if Kevin or I were more confused by the movie. Granted, we had both tried to watch the movie before and got bored. However, we thought we'd give it another try. Besides the tasty popcorn, and the shared love of cuddling on a couch to watch a movie, we weren't enjoying the movie much.
"Well atleast they're not still in their PJ's." Nick laughed as the guys and Booker walked into the room.
"Did ya'll even do anything today?" Brian asked as he plopped down on the couch.
He barely had enough room to plop down, but he managed to sit down in front of my belly.
"Well, duh." I rolled my eyes comically. "We changed clothes!"
"Besides that." Brian tickled me under my armpits.
"Yes, we had a picnic in the park and went shopping. Oh, and got coffee on the way home." Kevin answered. "Now stop bothering my cuddle buddy!"
"Rowr." Brian shaped his hand like a cat's paw and laughed.
"Hey, we were here first, damnit!" I laughed at Brian.
"Fine, fine. Are you two interested in dinner? We picked up some shit to make and some tasty wine." Brian leaned down to kiss me.
"Head--move it!" Kevin laughed. "I can't see the T.V."
"Jeez, ya'll are bitchy." Nick laughed at us.
"Yeah, we'll eat, won't we Kevy Kev?" I asked over my shoulder.
"Sounds good." Kevin replied.
"Okay, well, we're going to go get cracking on dinner while A.J. watches the boy. We'll let ya'll know when dinner's ready." Brian slapped my hip and got up.
"A'ight." Kevin and I replied in unison.
Kevin kept his arms wrapped around me the whole time the guys had come in to talk to us. He hadn't moved away from me one inch. And Brian hadn't gotten jealous. I was thoroughly confused, but didn't mind having Kevin wrapped around me, either. Suddenly, I remembered the task at hand.
"Where ya' goin'?" Kevin asked, but let me pull away from him.
"To make a phone call. Save my spot." I smiled as I got up.
"Don't worry, it'll be saved." Kevin grinned back, looking thoroughly comfy.
I made my way into the kitchen slowly, still feeling sleepy from laying around all afternoon. Brian, Nick, Howie, A.J. and Booker were all in the kitchen cooking dinner. Booker was watching A.J. cut up some onions while Howie and Nick were cutting up other veggies. Brian was doing something near the stove.
"Spaghetti?" I asked as I looked over Brian's shoulder.
"Close. It'll be sorta different. How's it going, baby?" He gave me a kiss, letting his tongue roll into my mouth quickly.
"Pretty good. Tired, though." I stated succinctly once he pulled away.
"Good. Thanks for taking care of Kev for us." Brian whispered in my ear.
All the guys didn't seem to be paying any notice to us.
"Can you, um, come in here for a sec?" I asked him.
"Sure, baby. Howie, will you watch this for me?" Brian motioned at the frying pan full of chopped meat.
Brian grabbed my hand and followed me into the living room. No one would be able to hear us in there.
"What's up with Kevin. And what's up with you for that matter?" I laughed.
"Did he tell you about Kristin?" Brian sat down on the arm of the couch, pulling me in to him until his knees were touching my thighs.
"Yeah. That bitch needs someone to whoop her." I stated simply.
"He's taking it kind of hard, baby. I'm glad you're here for him. I don't think he'd be that open with the rest of us."
"He's acting really...odd." I stated as Brian laid his head against my chest.
"Well, he acted like that when Beth dumped him a long long time ago." Brian looked up at me, his chin still on my chest.
"He made you sleep with him, and latched on to you like a leech?" I teased.
"Pretty much." Brian shrugged. "Why? Is it bothering you?" Brian asked quickly.
"Well, no. As long as it doesn't bother you." I ran a hand thru his hair.
"Kevin's not moving in on my territory." Brian grabbed my ass, but not roughly. "He just needs someone to listen and to be with him. Does that make sense?"
"Yeah." I replied honestly. "I just didn't want anyone to take this wrong, especially after that fucker took our picture this afternoon on Rodeo."
"Huh?"
"I was helping Kevin try to get some pants fastened, and this joker took a few pictures of it. It looked, well, compromising." I explained.
"Ouch. Well, that definitely won't look good, but it'll probably end up in the Enquirer. Who the fuck takes that seriously, anyway?" Brian replied.
I liked this laid back version of Brian much better.
"Yeah, that's true. I've just never seen him this way. So vulnerable and all."
"He's going thru a tough time. Kevin takes marriage and relationships very seriously. When he gets dumped, he takes it really fucking hard. So, just keep my cousin happy so he doesn't bug the rest of us." Brian teased.
"So, what you're saying is, that if Kevin needs to get laid, I can do that?" I replied, tongue in cheek.
"Not quite, you horndog." Brian laughed and leaned up to kiss me.
"Okay, but if he asks...." Brian cut me off by shoving his tongue in my mouth.
"Now, let's go make dinner." He grabbed my hand as he got up.
"I gots to make a call first, baby." I moved away so he could get up from the couch.
"A'ight." Brian gave me another quick kiss before taking off to the kitchen again.
As soon as Brian was gone, I walked over and sat down at the other end of the couch. I grabbed the cordless phone and dug the phone number out of my pocket that Rosie had given me the day before. I dialed the number that was on the paper and waited for it to ring. There was an answer after just two rings.
"'Ello?" I immediately realized the guy on the other end of the phone was English.
"Um, yes. I'm trying to reach a Garrett Smythe." I stated.
"May I ask who's calling?"
"Matt Thompson."
"Then, this is Garrett Smythe." I heard the guy chuckle.
"Oh. Well, I got your number from my friend Rosie. She said you were the new man in town and I should call you." I tried to sound upbeat.
"That I am. What can I do for you?"
"Well, I thought you might be interested in representing me. As management, that is."
"Rosie did mention you were looking for a new manager. Nasty thing that happened, I must say." He sounded compassionate.
"I'm sorry?" I didn't understand.
"She told me that you had a falling out with your last manager. Didn't seem to have much confidence in you and all."
"Oh, right. Well, would you be interested in meeting?" I got to the obvious question.
"Certainly. I won't be available until tomorrow, though. Is that alright?"
"Sure. It's not like I have anything important until then." I laughed.
"Where shall we meet?"
"How about at my house?"
"Brilliant. Let me get the address from you."
Garrett jotted down my home address as I gave it to him, with a promise he would be by around lunch time the next day. I hung the phone back on the receiver, and joined Kevin on the couch in the den. He immediately had me in a tight grip again as we finished watching the rest of our movie. We were probably more confused after the movie was over than during.
(Party Twenty-Three)
"Can I get you anything?" I asked as I sat down across from Garrett at the patio table.
"Oh no, I'm splendid, thanks." He gave me a toothy grin.
As soon as Garrett had showed up, he wanted to get talking right away. All the guys had gone out with Booker again, to give me privacy with Garrett. Kevin, on the other hand, had stayed behind. Garrett sat across from me, Kevin right at my side in another chair.
"You sure? I've got a little bit of everything in the fridge." I didn't figure it would hurt to be sure.
"Well, what have you got?"
"Water, tea, cokes, beer, wine, juice, all that good stuff."
"Some tea would be nice." He smiled.
"Coming right up." I started to get up.
"I'll get it, Matt." Kevin jumped up.
"Will you bring me a coke?" I asked him.
"Sure thing." Kevin smiled down at me and disappeared into the house.
I sat there, staring across at Garrett, not really knowing where to start.
"Massive house." Garrett stated simply.
"Thanks. I think." I smiled.
"Very nice." He nodded. "You're needing new management, then?"
"Yeah. My last manager just went a bit lulu on me, and my career sucks right now." I put it simply.
"Sounds awful." Garrett stated as Kevin walked back onto the patio and handed him a glass of iced tea.
"Ah. Tea." Garrett looked at the glass funny and took a sip hesitantly.
"Here's your coke, Matt." Kevin handed me the can, then sat back down with a beer in his hand.
"Thanks." I stated as I popped the top of the can.
"So, where are we then? In your career I mean." Garrett didn't seem to dislike the tea.
"What do you mean?" Kevin asked for me after sipping his beer.
"What do you want to do now?" Garrett asked, folding his hands on top of the table.
"Oh. Well, I want to keep acting. I just need someone that will hire me." I sighed and shrugged.
"Why won't anyone hire you?"
"I don't know. Actually, I haven't tried to get a job recently. But my last movie was shelved." I replied.
"I heard about that. Nasty business, movies." Garrett tried to comfort me.
Yeah, well, I need someone to help me find jobs." I explained.
"I can do that, I suppose." I liked his smile--it seemed very genuine.
Being genuine was something I hadn't seen Barbara do the whole time I had known her.
A half hour later, Garrett explained that he had enough information from me. He was going to have a contract drawn up, until I explained that I didn't do contracts. Garrett was aprehensive, but agreed. Kevin and I listened as he told us that he was going to work on a "battle plan" and call me later in the afternoon. We walked Garrett out, and waved as he pulled down the driveway and left.
"Well, now what?" Kevin asked as we closed the front door behind us.
"Sofa and a movie?" I laughed.
"Sounds good to me." Kevin laid an arm over my shoulder and drug me towards the den with a smile.
"What's he doing in there?" Brian snuck out onto the patio and crept up behind me.
It was dusk, and I was watching Booker run off the last of his energy before bed with the dog. I was leaning slightly on the railing of the deck, smoking a cigarette.
"What's who doing what and where?" I let the corner of my mouth curl up into a half-smile.
"Kevin. He's on the phone."
"Well, see Brian, the phone is this invention where you dial these numbers and someone actually can talk to you." I teased.
"You know what I mean." Brian slapped me on the arm. "He looks like he's crying, and every now and then his voice gets louder."
"Well, if you want to know so badly, why don't you go ask him?" I shrugged.
"Well, I didn't want to be nosey." Brian rolled his eyes.
I couldn't help but just laugh at him. Nosey? Surely not. Brian just grinned and wrapped his arms around me, holding me from behind.
"I just hope he's okay." Brian nuzzled his head against mine.
"I'm sure he'll be fine." I tried to soothe him as I took another drag off my cigarette. "Booker, don't pull on Rimbaud's ears!"
"Oooookay, daddy." Booker sounded embarassed at being caught at hurting the dog.
I knew full well Kevin was in there talking to Kristin. However, I didn't think it would be very nice of me to tell a friend's business to the rest of the guys. Besides, I'm sure that when he wanted the guys to know about it, he'd tell them. Nick, Howie and A.J. came out of the door like a herd of bull, shutting it quickly behind them.
"What's wrong with you guys?" Brian let go of me to look at 'em.
"He's in there bawling." Howie gasped.
"Stop being dramatic." Brian sighed.
"Howie's tellin' the truth, Bri. He said something about her being a bitch, slammed the phone down..." A.J. started.
"Then he curled up on the couch and started crying." Nick said it like he thought Kevin was standing over his shoulder.
All four guys got quiet all of the sudden and just stood there. I was waiting for one of them to say "I'll go in and talk to him", but no one said anything.
"Oh, for Christ's sake." I threw my cigarette into the 'butt can'. "I'll go talk to him."
"You sure?" Howie asked with wide-eyes.
"Yeah, he might be really upset." A.J. agreed.
"Well, he needs someone that loves him to comfort him. And since all three of you are acting like pussies, I'll do it." I looked into the yard again. "Booker, you have fifteen minutes, then you have to get ready for bed."
"'Kay Daddy!" Booker laughed as Rimbaud jumped and knocked him down.
"Pussies." I chastised the four of them again as I pushed past them and entered the house thru the sliding glass door.
Kevin was definitely crying. It wasn't as loud and dramatic as the guys had made it sound. However, I could hear him sniffling. It wasn't a dry kind of sniffle. It was the kind that sounded like you were either crying, or sick. In this case, I knew Kevin wasn't sick, so that only left crying. When I got into the living room, I immediately saw Kevin curled up in a ball on the couch, holding his knees to his chest. It was a very vulnerable and unusual position to see him in.
I didn't really know what to say to him, so I walked over to the couch and sat down next to him. Kevin didn't try to stop me when I reached out and stroked his hair. Kevin kept sniffling, and trying to suck back tears, but they flowed down his face nevertheless. It was really shocking to see Kevin like this. He was the only person in the world I thought never lost it.
"She is divorcing me." Kevin broke the silence.
I crawled over him to the back of the couch and laid behind him. Kevin pushed back against me as I wrapped my arms around him and held him.
"Maybe you should stop holding on, and just be held for once." I whispered in his ear.
Kevin gave a small laugh, but realized what I was saying.
"Why can't you be a woman, Matt?" Kevin laughed through his sniffling.
"Why can't you be gay?" I laughed back.
"Just tell Brian you want some romance for once." Kevin sucked up the last of his tears.
"I will if you promise to tell Kristin to eat me." I giggled.
"Don't think I won't. It's the first thing that came to mind." Kevin laughed with me.
(Epilogue)
"'Ello, Matt." I heard Garrett's voice as I picked up the phone.
"Hello, Garrett. What's happening?" I spoke into the cordless phone while I smoked my cigarette on the deck.
"Listen, I went over some things, and I would love to represent you."
"That's great."
"We'll talk about figures tomorrow, if that is alright? I wanted to tell you a few things I have found out." Garrett explained slowly, definitely not one to get stressed.
"Um, sure. What did you find out?" I asked.
"The Enquirer Magazine, not too familiar with it, I'm afraid..."
"It's a tabloid."
"Yes, well they are going to run an article about your supposed involvment with a Backstreet Boy tomorrow." Garrett began.
"Yeah, Kevin, alright." I exhaled.
"I'll assume you were prepared for that, so I won't bother fighting it." Garrett questioned, but not in a nosey way.
"I was expecting it, yes. It's not true, but yes I was expecting it."
"Right, then. Also, I found out something about Barbara Fischer?"
"Yeah, what about the bitch?" I sneered when I heard Garrett mention my previous manager's name.

"Yes, well, when I find out more, I'll let you know where you can go to visit her." Garrett finished his thought.
"Alright, thanks." I suddenly felt very bad for being mean to Barb the last time I talked to her.
"Right then. Talk to you later." Garrett said cheerfully and hung up.
