Ask Me 66
Conner was a lot brighter in the following weeks, he sat with Marty went back into the studio, and generally spread his sunshine throughout our lives. I had charity meetings and I called into the architect's office a few times. They had started demolishing all that they had to with the block of flats. I took a copy of the plans home so we both could see what was going to happen and I was even jotting down what kind of furnishings I wanted in our penthouse. I also decided to put in a small equipped gym for the residents.
Con and I had gone to Marty's together today, he needed to get his hair straightened out and the only person he trusts is Ray's second cousin Adam who has mainly always come to Marty's office to style it. Adam is a mate of Cody's we found out, they have always shared business space. On the few occasions I have been watching him do his magic with Con we would talk about the house on the beach and the kids, he was very close to Rory but never divulged what his story was, only that now he is extremely happy and in a better place.
"I'm thinking I might bag up some of that hair Mr. Conner's." I grinned at him. "Why?" poor Con he's so clueless sometimes. "I want to sell it on eBay, maybe two hundred dollars a bag to your fans." "I don't think you would sell much Brent, this lot is filthy, next time Conner I want you at the salon so I can give you a good well overdue treatment." Adam joked. "Well it was just a thought; eBay that is."
"Brent, do you want to look over the concert programs before Con signs off on them?" "No Marty he's a big boy he knows what he's doing, did you book the extra days in New York?" "Yes mate all done, there are only two concerts, maybe three, then you get a week on your own." Conner was shaking his head from side to side as Adam chased what looked like his last curl. "Stay still Conner." "Don't cut off all his curls I won't have anything to play with Adam." "I'm sure you have plenty to play with Brent, and his curls will come back after he washes his hair, or you do it for him." He smirked. I knew that.
We had a good day, and after we collected the boy from school and he was happily playing footy with his mates I asked Con if he wanted to do more in the states, maybe more cities. He held my hand and said. "New York's enough baby, what are your plans for Ted?" "He will be okay Con school will be out for the eight weeks and I talked to Mrs. Green she will set some work for him in case he gets bored. I will need help with him but haven't decided on anyone yet. I won't rely on Tom and Shane to babysit him that's not fair, maybe John and Ray will come along." "We are coming this time Brent and looking after our grandson is our job." John smiled. "Well, not too many museums John he gets bored with it all." I smiled. "No, I have a small list of things he can do if you're not around, kids things." "Good because he only likes doing kids things." I smiled.
"Now how's that new rock anthem coming along Conner?" "What rock anthem?" He nearly jumped. "The one you have to launch at the London concert, alongside the slow I chooses youse song." I laughed in his face. "I guess we will both have to work on it, we had better get started then Brent." "What about, 'do you want it rough or do you want it, smooth baby?" Con hummed then sang the words he smiled at me and said. "Thanks, got any more lines?" "After our run porky pig, you need to up the antes in the fitness department Con." "You are so unkind Brent." "Well if that's what it takes to get you going then so be it." "No that's not what gets me going, you do." he leaned in to kiss me but I placed my hand on his mouth and whispered. "Kids." "Oh maybe behind the tree then." "Maybe." I winked.
We ran around the track twice, and yes we stopped at the big old tree a couple of times, Andy was having coffee with John when we arrived back and I had a great idea. "Why don't you three come on tour with us it will only be for about three, maybe four weeks, Sean will have a ball." Poor Andy I could see he was getting excited about the idea. He looked me in the eye and said with a gulp.
"Bubby." "Oh." I knew what he meant, Bub's would go nuts knowing his two best mates were whooping it up overseas without him. "Okay, I will put plan B into action." "What's plan B Brent?" Conner was intrigued. "Later Con later," I smirked.
Andy looked sad, but I do understand about leaving Bub's home on his own. "I would love to come with you, I've always dreamed of going to the west end and seeing some shows but I can't let Bub's down and his mum and dad probably won't let him come with us, and if we do go without him he might create chaos." He started laughing.
"Well Andy, when Bub's dad has a Sunday off can you organize a barbeque and invite us over." "Umm yes, I've been meaning to do that for a long time but you both always seem to be busy, but what's going on Brent?" "They have shows on Broadway too you know." I grinned at him. He gulped again.
"What's the plan, Brent?" Con had me cornered in the bathroom, I was washing his hair which took longer than usual because I had needed him to be naked so my dick could be firmly planted in his crack.
"Okay, why don't we fly them all over commercial to New York, Bub's mum, and dad, Sean Andy Sam just for the seven days, they can see your show and I can book some shows for the guys and I will have to find out what bub's parents like. they can all fly back with us." "You paying?" "Yes." "Oh, then I suggest they fly first class then." "Is there any other way Con?" I was getting excited it was the constant rubbing as I dried his now curly hair. My balls ached as we dressed and met up with John and Ray for a yummy roast dinner, I think nude hair washing is out from now on, we didn't even have time to make love by the time I fussed over Cons curls.
"Dad can you lends me five hundred dollars please?" Conner nearly chocked on his chicken. "What for my lovely son?" "I gots to get sum new posters dad." "And you think they are worth five hundred do you?" "Yes daddy, I think so." "What sort of posters do you want, baby?" "Some of the Brisbane Bombers dad, Luke said he has some so I want some too." Conner looked at me I blinked then got my wallet off the kitchen bench. "Here's fifty if they are any more than that I will give it to you okay." "Okay dad, can we go on the weekend and find some?" "Sure we can, maybe the Chadstone AFL shop will have a couple." "Okay." I detected a slight smile as Ted shoved the fifty into his pocket.
"No arguments tonight baby?" Con was trying to get a rise out of me in bed. "No, they won't cost that much he hasn't any idea how much things cost, what's fifty bucks if it makes him happy I'm in, it's not that he's asking for money every day." "He gets an allowance baby." "But he saves that Con, for his first house deposit." "Oh good." He snuggled up to me and before he went to sleep I heard a muffled "I love you."
The phone rang during the night it was Marty, little Brenton had been born. He was over the moon and both mother and son were doing well. I told him we will be in sometime in the morning Ted wants to see the little fella and of course, so do we. "Its a boy Con." "Oh, that's wonderful a new baby, shopping Brent." Then he went back to sleep. I didn't break out the champagne I hope Di understands.
Lucky it was a Saturday we could have a sleep in, I heard Ted move down to the TV I couldn't move to go get my day started because Con had me by the balls literally. His hand held them and he was rolling them around, I moved my hand behind me and grabbed him by the dick, it was nice and hard so I gave it a couple of strokes then Con let go of me. I jumped up and went to the toilet, he moaned. I had a pee then went to turn the coffee on kissing my baby's head on the way, he didn't make a move, I pulled the dishwasher open and started to put the contents away, as I bent over to get some more I felt hands on my bum, boy was Conner randy or what? I jumped up and turned as his hand grabbed me by the nuts again.
"Con what are you doing cant you wait?" "No I had a sexy dream." he moaned in my ear.
"What are you doing dad?" "Checking the elastic in dad's boxers is strong enough." Good save Conner how's that red face of yours? "Can I have some more toast dad?" "Sure can buddy won't be a minute, oh Con how's the elastic?" "Good Brent." I had a small chuckle. He walked his coffee over to the sofa and sat with Ted who didn't care if my elastic was strong or not.
"What time are we going to the hospital babe?" "Around eleven Con, I have to ring Jenny and let her know maybe she will come over to see bubs." Ted's eyes brightened as I gave him his toast. "What bubs dad?" "Aunty Di got her little boy last night we are going to see him later on." "That's cool; dad more shopping." He looked at Con. I laughed at Cons face he now has an accomplice, a partner in crime. I suppose it was bound to happen maybe Ted will get a new toy while he's there, or maybe some posters.
We did call into the shopping center and he did get a poster I told him to keep the change in case he wanted to get more in the future. I tried to minimize the damage because now little Conner is coming over too he had to get something, and of course, Hope gets a new dolly. I bought little Brent some baby rompers and a nice bright teddy bear.
Di looked radiant I don't think I've ever seen her look so good, I kissed her cheek and she started weeping into a tissue my guess this isn't the first time today. We handed over the gifts and little Hope loved her doll, Conner went to take the baby off Skye but she moved out of the way.
"Have you washed your hands, Rick?" She inquired using his stage name. "Of course I have, now give me a nurse will ya?" "When's your next concert?" "In London, you can come with us Skye." Con offered. "What about my girls?" "Maybe next time there's not a lot of room on the plane." "Well I won't go without them and I have a new nephew to look after now. Maybe when you do your Australian tour, maybe not because there might be a new kid on the block better than you by then." She laughed Conner pouted. I said to myself, not if I can help it. She eventually handed over the baby and I moved in to have a look also, Ted was jumping up to try and see, so Con sat down and he squealed with delight, Hope had waddled over with her dolly and was cooing too.
He is a beautiful baby not much hair and his eyes were squeezed shut but I could see a bit of Marty in him. I left Con to coo and ahh at him and took Di's hand. "He's beautiful Di congratulations, Marty a son a beautiful son." Marty was beaming he was so proud as he stroked Di's hair. "The next one will be a boy too Brent, I can't wait." Di offhandedly said. Poor Marty groaned. "Oh and Marty his name will be Martin you can pick the second name again." she laughed so hard her tears were forgotten.
Bob and Jen came in with flowers, and a little pocket rocket called Conner, he screamed and ran over to Con the baby was now forgotten. Skye took him back and gave him to Jen. Little Con was placed on Conner's knee and his little kisses were just gorgeous, he turned around and spotted Teddy standing there and both his chubby hands lashed out and grabbed him by the cheeks. Ted was taken aback but took it all in his stride, he's going to make a great father one day, but not too soon I hope. Ted gave him a bag with his toy in it and they found a vacant corner where Hope joined them. Her doll was forgotten when little Con pulled out a set of building blocks.
"Mums been ringing me, Brent, she wants Bob and I to take dad in, I told her where to go. He's under house arrest, and because he's lost the apartment he's now back living with her. But she's had enough and wants us to take him." She laughed. "Well don't do it sis, let them both annoy each other. I thought he owned that apartment, wasn't it his in the divorce settlement?" "Yes brother, but his love of the stock market saw him borrowing huge amounts against it only to lose it when he lost his job." I smiled but couldn't help feeling just a pang of sadness, not.
"Well he won't get near my family anytime soon sis, are you coming to London with us?" I asked my usual question. "Just for ten days brother, Con needs to see a red double-decker bus." Bob got into the conversation.
"What!!" Both Jen and I said at the same time.
"Well, Ray and I have to go there to talk container ships so why not, Jen needs a holiday and I know Con will have fun." He smiled. This is awesome at last he's relented. "Great news I'll ring you with the dates Bob, maybe you both can join the mile-high club on the way," I whispered in his ear. He laughed and blushed. He's one of the good guys I'm sure they will have a lot of fun traveling, I looked at Jen she was beaming, it's something she had always wanted to do and apart from a week in Fiji when she was younger that's the extent of her traveling. I have to make sure they both have a great time.
We left Di surrounded by gift paper and presents. Little Conner didn't want to go home he wanted to play with Ted some more and he wanted to see Benny. So the family ended up back at our place.
"Have you spotted any seedy characters at our place yet Conner?" Bob smiled. "What!! you're not supposed to know about it," Poor Conner. "I saw it last month they did a very good job hidden over the garage door it is," He was talking about the small camera Cons Security Company had installed. Bob kissed Con on the cheek then thanked him. I suppose he's softening I won't talk about more overseas trips as yet but while we are away they may as well come to New York with us, just to check it out.
Benny got huge hugs from little Conner then he sat on the couch with the two boys and watched cartoons. Teds a good host he kept up with the biscuits and when they ran out they headed into Ray and Johns who in turn bought in a lovely lunch. All the time I was watching this all unfold Conner was running his hand up and down my thigh under the table. I think what I'm called today is a multi-tasker, but of course, it all stopped when the food was placed on the table. Little Conner ended up on his dad's knee, he was trying to grab everything that was near to play with. Jenny gave him a piece of chicken to chew on most of it dribbled down his chin onto the table. Cons phone went off and he excused himself and went out to the backyard. He was smiling when he came back.
"Jeeze news travels fast that was Molly, he just got off the phone from London." I could see Jen knew who he was talking about. "We will get an invitation to dinner while we are there, he's just giving us a heads up." "Who with Con?" I wanted to know. "Elton." He smiled. "Uh?" "I have met him before Brent a couple of times he wants to invite us for dinner while we are there." He looked at Jen and Bob and added. "All of us." Jen dropped her knife it crashed on her plate, I know how she felt, she loves Elton's music has done for a long time. "Something wrong Jen?" "No, Brent everything's perfect." "You should have come the last time you could have met Bono." I grinned at her. "Oh." "And George Michael." I was about to list names but decided she has had enough shocks.
"Don't forget Con, we have a date with Mrs. Green on Monday." Now it was John's turn to be shocked. "Oh god be on your best behavior boys that woman is a bloody menace." "It's okay we need to discuss things with her." I indicated Teddy as I said it. "Okay, good luck."
Jenny was over the moon, and as I bounced little Con on my knee she was doing a Ted to me, squeezing her fists. I leaned in and said.
"Make a list of the things Bob would like to see while he's over there Jen, I want him to want to travel some more." I winked. They left with a bag of toys in hand, no not from us from Ray and John and we said we will be in touch. The guys stayed for a while then they took Ted in next door John was going to show him how to cook croissants. I looked at Conner he looked at me, we both made a mad dash up to our bedroom.
"Alone, at last. I thought they would never leave." Con nuzzled my neck. "You okay babe?" "Sure Con everything's good why?" "It's just you seem to be a little hypo today." "I guess I'm on a high it happens like that Con, down one minute then right up loony tunes the next." I laughed. "Well, you will tell me if you don't feel right won't you?" "Of course Con, I feel good, show me your eyes again." He did and I drank them in while he lowered my underwear.
Our meeting with Mrs. Green went all right, she was putting more security in place and was finally allowing one of Grants men to sit in the hallway, he will be allowed to check the toilets at intervals and whenever a student goes another school mate has to go with them and security is to follow.
"I had to stand over the board members to get them to agree to this but I think they got the message loud and clear." "Did you threaten homework for them." Conner chuckled. "Yes, Mr. Richards I did." She laughed. "They nearly pissed themselves." She added on. "Mrs. Green." Conner put a shocked look on his face. "Oh come on Mr. Richards haven't you worked it out yet, I thought you were a clever man." "Work what out?" Poor Con. "I give you homework not because of what you say because I want your son to notice, and it teaches him there are consequences to every action. He will get it one day, although I must say Teddy's one of the better-behaved children in his class, now Bubby is a whole other story."
"He's bored Mrs. Green, you know that Andy's showing him basic bookkeeping, he's even paying bills and doing Internet banking for him now, how are his grades?" "Through the roof Brent we wanted to move him up a class last term but his parents decided he should be with his mates; I suppose it's their choice but we have run out of things to teach him." She was being reflective. "Maybe an hour doing some filing in the office each day will calm him down." "Maybe Brent, good idea." She nodded. Conner started laughing his ass off. "What's up Con?" "He will want to get paid for the work Brent, so bloody funny." "One hundred words Mr. Richards in the morning." "What!!!?" "Consequences Mr. Richards, thank you."
We agreed to leave it up to the school, but I felt much better now there will be someone patrolling the corridors. Poor Bub's I didn't know what to do about him, I guess his parents feel bad keeping him down a grade but his mates come first.
"Coffee Mr. Walsh?" "Of course Mr. Conner's I might just let you have some chocolate orange cake." I smiled at him. "What!!" "You heard Con." It's the small things with Conner, inside he's still just a kid and if he puts on weight he can deal with the consequences.
It was on again the rush to get everything settled for his tour, that swagger had returned along with the voice exercises and a full two days with Adam to buy an entire tour wardrobe. We had dinner at Molly's place and Con did a few pre-tour interviews in his small studio, he was looking a lot better after his second term in hospital and was looking forward to being in London at the same time as Conner. Molly was going to do a personal interview with Gaga and was staying at Eton's place but he will be at least one of the concerts. Conner would organize tickets for him and his entourage. We had to be there a week earlier, then a week of concerts a few days off. New York another three or four days of work then another week off, maybe I can talk Con into showing Ted Disneyland, yeah right, no maybes about it, that's a given.
The flight is going to be long we will go via Dubai a fourteen-hour flight just to get there, then another six or seven to London. Secretly I had rung Jill and as much as I begged she was busy with work and there is no way she or Sarah would let Luke come alone. It looks like Ted will be hanging with little Conner for most of the trip. We had another eight weeks before all this is going to be happening. Con started rehearsing with his band, they will also have a new number released before the concerts and will get playtime on their own during Cons concert breaks.
Marty said he would try and get them a couple of gigs while we are in New York. I was looking through Cons new clothes Adam had done a good job, there were three pairs of black leather pants he gets so sweaty on stage so needs fresh duds to change into. I did check the sizes and he hasn't put an inch on around the waist, but I will still have him on my no cake diet for a while yet. I had started to make a list of places to take Ted to and had made numerous phone calls to Jen to try and see what she wanted to do.
My man is happy to go along with anything I organize for him as long as he's with us he doesn't much care, and if you believe that then you will believe my next statement, the earth's flat.
Con sat with Ted and they both nutted out where they wanted to go when they hit London, he wanted to tour the British museum again, he didn't see it all the last time and considering his mental state at the time, he wouldn't have taken much in any way.
Ted wanted to go see the fairy tree in Kensington Gardens, a ride on the big Ferris wheel a look at the wax statues and of course something I thought he didn't know much about the Harry Potter tours. Conner had put Lego land London bridge and the changing of the guard. Unfortunately, we lost that week when the Queen's birthday celebrations would be on, but Con didn't seem to mind much, the birthday concert was a hindrance to him. It would have taken him two days to prepare and that's days he can spend with his son and me.
Jen was so excited and from what Bob was telling Ray she's already got four suitcases packed, we will go over there next weekend and sort her out. Anything she needs she can buy when she's there. I spent some time in the hospital visiting Di and got in a lot of nurses and even changed little Brent a few times. Con managed to get to training every day for our run but the excitement was building.
Marty wasn't focused like he was the last time, he wanted to be with his kids and wife. "Marty you still get your commission whether you go or not. Adam can do the concerts and I'm sure if Jill is offered the job to do media Sarah and Luke would come too." I was trying my last-ditch spin to get at least one of Ted's friends on board.
"No Brent I have to go it's my job, Adam can do media, as much as I fucked up last time I won't let that happen again. I have him booked for a couple of tonight shows but they would be mostly pre-taped I want him to enjoy his time." "Okay Marty whatever you thinks fair is okay with me." I smiled at him as he bounced Hope in his arms. "It will be okay Mart I will send you photos and we can Skype you won't be away for that long I will be busy settling him in and house hunting of course." She giggled.
It was something Marty had been looking at but never found that perfect picket fence for his little family. I know he's got the money and so has Di, those shares are now blue chip, and although Di hasn't worked the full year I know she gets a pretty good wage from her modeling.
"Why haven't you talked to Ray about it Marty?" "Because I want to do it, not bludge off anyone else Brent." "Well, you had better look at that cottage in our street it came on the market yesterday. I noticed a sign on it, three bedrooms, a bit bigger than ours but you may not like living in the area, I believe there's a foul-mouthed rock star in the neighborhood." "`Really are you shitting me?" Poor Marty. "About the foul-mouthed rock star, yes, but not the house it went on the market yesterday. I stopped to read the sign out the front on the way here, the auction is just before we leave."
He looked at Di and she looked at me. I kept saying to myself please look at it Marty, it would be awesome to have Di you and the kids nearby. Di looked at me again. "What are you thinking Brent?" "That we could have botox parties while the boys are at work." She screamed with laughter and her arms reached for me. After a big hug, it was settled, when she got out of hospital they would go look at it.
The area I'm talking about used to be a workers suburb but over the years had become one of the best shopping strips in Melbourne, the cottages were transformed into million-dollar showstoppers being so close to the city they were very sought after, they will pay a big price for that picket fence.
I headed for the park, John was picking Ted up today and when I had parked a little boy ran over to help me open the door, what a gentleman. I picked him up and squeezed him with my hugs he was reluctant to show much emotion in front of his buddies but managed to give me a big smacker on the cheek. I let him down and we walked over to the picnic tables, there were some other parents there, some I knew some I didn't. I couldn't stop them from using the kid's small park but it did limit what Con and I could do in public. I sent him a message to put his beanie on that we weren't alone, he replied with a groan.
John unpacked his afternoon tea basket, and Andy helped him make coffee for us all. "One week in New York to watch some shows on Broadway then the three boys will go to Disneyland on the way home, you will be away for ten days max, Bub's will come if I bribe him with Disneyland, I'm still hoping to convince his mum to come at least, you all fly home with us but fly there first class." I could see Andy was thinking about it and he seemed to be losing the battle I shouldn't put this sort of pressure on him he's a bloody nice guy.
"Brent, Bubby's dad Daryl is a great guy, but because he works at the docks he's doing four different shifts a month and doesn't get much time to be with his family, he's either sleeping or working. He loves Bub's to bits and wants to spend all his free time with him, but he's all about working and providing a home for Fran and Bub's."
"How are you going with that family barbeque, Andy?" I smiled. "What's that going to achieve Brent?" "I will bring out the big guns and knock him off his feet. I mean Conner will charm him." "How's around one this Sunday sound?" "Great." With that organized I looked at my watch, Con was late so I pulled my sweats down then went to start my run. I figured if Con couldn't convince Daryl Bub's would be safe no one could.
We packed up and I checked my phone, Grant didn't know where he was, he and John followed us home and I was met with an empty house. My phone went off it was a message from Con. 'Be home soon.'
