Well over the next three months I was taught many new thing about the training of new recruit and upgrading some already trained, I was enjoying life as I only had to work one weekend in 4 I was very happy a sit allowed me to meet up with Sid and I also met several of my fellow officers at the club and of course we only talked rubber and similar activities.
One morning later Frank came into our office and spoke to us all saying there was going to be a special group put together to train guys in how to handle themselves in either mud, slime, possibly sewage and also rivers and he would be looking for volunteers to go on a training course that would take a week.
Oh also there will be time for recreation at some suitable location.
There is much talk about this request; several said they were not interested. I thought about this and said to myself it's not different to shoveling pig shit back on the farm. I quietly slipped away and let Frank know my decision who asked me why I would do his; I repeated what I thought prior to coming to his office, thanks Roger I hope we get enough volunteers otherwise I will have to add to that number and I bet some of those will be very upset.
I'll get the entire volunteer group together later and fill everyone in on what is going to happen. As I left Franks office Kevin was coming my way, I thought you would volunteer I'll there with you mate and sort of hugged me and slapped my back. This left me thinking as a number of the officers have slapped my back over a period of time and I'm wondering if they are rubbermen.
We got our date for departure, two weeks down the road and we were all advised just bring the clothes you are wearing all gear while training will be supplied, however it will not be new but it will be clean.
We all got together prior to training course and Frank explained everything and ask any questions, someone ask we assume you're coming Frank? His answer was do you think I would miss such an opportunity
The following Monday we headed out and arrived at this remote location with just one large building evident. As we arrived some guy came out of the building, asking are the crew from the Boot Camp? Frank answers yes, great my name is Ken – you made good time so let's go inside and we will attempt to give an idea of what we are planning for the troops who have to go into the jungle areas. Now for those who are unaware we have a big problem that may occur and the condition for the troops is going to be lousy so we are going to get you guys the knowledge on what they may experience but at the same time give you all the ability to pass this on and we expect you all to make even worse that it may be. A couple of our crew started laughing/ What's the joke fill me in – the comment was OK lets do the real dirty work first and then we have one person here who we are sure can make it a lot more stinky.
Ok then lets get you to the barracks sorry guys but you will not get your own room here. Your Commander has provided all your clothing sizes so I suggest we al go and get changed, put your own gear away because you will not need it until you return home. So please follow me, we lead down in to a basement area and to a room with about 12 beds set-up, then two different shower rooms the first one was the dirty room where we can wash off all the dirty plus and at the same time wash the gear we are wearing, there a number of heavy duty washing machine and driers, then there was the clean shower room for final cleanup. Also this level of the building has direct access to the outside.
We all got change and returned to assembly room Ken was there so guys let me fill you in on some of the ideas we have, and we more than welcome all the input you can give as this is all new to al of us.
Everyone was very intent on what was said, Ken finished his description of the course and said let go and have a look at what we have setup. We are taken by two long wheel base land rovers and on arriving at the site. I spot what I think is the first error. I make my comments to Ken; he looks at me sort of annoyed then says what have we done wrong? Ken my name is Roger may I suggest that your starting point is back about ¼ mile then they will not see what is ahead, they can then enter the site by coming thought the bush.
Ken is silent and then says why didn't we think of that – thanks Roger. We all walk route oh yes it smells pretty bad as well, the site also look a little oily.
During this time I think everyone made notes, I sat down looking at the area in view – hey guys something dirty is getting planned I can se it in Roger face
Frank says it would do us all good to look at this area more closely because eventually we are going to set up something similar. We return back to base and all then sit down and discuss what we all have in mind. During this time Ken delivered whole load of beer to help the thoughts flow. A very constructive discussion took place. Then Frank said Ken; I think it's time to open up the other area here don't you Ken, a big grin came over his face; he then said Frank you sure stretched this out.
Well all I can say were here to work but lets face it we also need relaxation right Ken, sure thing Frank. With that Frank starts to lead the way out of the room and we are soon in a totally different style of rooms. Frank says this place is rather like "The Club" and I know you all are familiar with that location so come on guys lets have fun!
We all headed for the showers, and then used rubber raps and went to the bar for some more beer. While there I asked if they had any hair gel, Ken asked what's that. Frank pipes up to say that is how Roger keeps his hair so well trimmed and I do the same and with that Frank removes his toupee.
It was obvious that a number of the crew here were unaware of Franks well shaved head. Anyway a number of the crew wanted to try this gel so I went back to our bunk room and grabbed three pouches of gel. On returning Ken wanted to see for himself what this was and it was Frank who convinces Ken to try it out, I started to say something and Frank quickly turned and shook his head at me.
Ken read the instructions and took a large amount of the gel and rubbed it well into his head making sure all was covered and then needed to scratch his ball and did the same thing there. Now the pouch says wait three minutes and then wash off under warm water. Well Ken did as per instructions and of course everywhere he had rubbed in gel the hair simply washed away.
The other guys who did not know the effects of the gel were sort of smiling to themselves at the result. Frank said to Ken you had better go and admire the new you in the mirror. My god I have lost all my hair and my eyebrows, Ken was feeling his skin and saying this feels really smooth. You know except for the eye brows I like the new appearance. I finally say something, Ken you will enjoy your rubber even better now also, hope you have the old style rubber rain gear here because that is what we should all use when actually doing the course what over the other clothing no I said just the rain gear. Several are laughing now, oh so that's what you did when modified our course back at camp you young bugger.
I tell you this I sure like the way you have taken the new guys through that course; someone what different? Well Roger here did what we must do go through the course with all the new recruits leading the way, sure have a couple of safety guys out of the mud, water whatever but once the leader is out then one of the other officers needs to go through. I don't agree with that, what the problem Curly you affair of getting dirty! You go though with the new men they will respect you much more than standing away from the dirt screaming at the new guys.
Well I slipped away heading for the steam room, took a good shower first and then soaked for something 20 minutes went back to the shower and decided to use some gel and also clean off all my hair around my arse and balls then another soak shower and cool off. I returned to the bar and some were still arguing about going through the course themselves.
Finally Frank put an end to it by saying while we are here everyone will get equally dirty, stinky the same as we expect he new recruits to do, there will be no exceptions end of discussion gentlemen. Go and get a good soak in the steam room. Frank and Ken were in discussion and they turned to me saying thank you for that, now I know who to watch back at camp because everyone is going to going through leading the men – that's what an officer must do – "Lead by Example"
Well we all had dinner in the Bar that evening and slowly headed for our bunks. I know I slept well but had this strange dream that someone was giving me this wonderful blowjob and although I roused I didn't open my eyes as I savored the experience. I the morning I found myself a little sticky so heading quickly for the shower to sweeten up. As I left the shower room Frank and Ken were coming in asking me if I slept well and had good dreams – my comment was yes very good dreams that's great keep it up, as they passed me I got a slap on the arse from both of them, now I knew it wasn't a dream after all.
The next few days were very interesting and yes I made a few suggestions in the same way others did. We played almost every afternoon and into the evening and yes we did a lot of screwing and fucking around, however a lot was achieved through good discussion while in the club area so it really was a lot of work and play in a relaxed manner.
Just before returning back to base the last night was technically a serious affair when all sat own and went over what we had all learnt, my comments were made about each other on how other saw our work. I guess we all got a bit of static from the others but that's all part of the job.
Finally Frank stood up to thank everyone for really getting into everything, then Ken said a few words and then we saw him pass over a package to Frank don't forget you have this to deal with – Hum do you think he is going to stand up and maintain our level of rubberisum. Ken said from what I have observed you will never have any problems there you picked well mate.
Roger we have a package for you and would like to except with the understanding that what goes on here is not to be discussed with anyone other than the members of this group.
We are a very select group and we pride ourselves on that fact, as a result of the way you have performed and handled yourself since you joining up you have excelled in all fields, you have brought some fresh ideas for which we say thank you. As a result we wish to present you with new special standard camouflage gear. I get handed this rather large package and told to take any item out to check it out.
Much too my surprise I find the gear is all rubber lined regular camouflage gear, apparently my face was priceless when I opened the package, Ken then spoke buy saying this was there contribution to the new ideas I had put into this training event; you are now part of the very special small group of Rubber Soldiers – welcome Roger to the group at which time everyone present shook my hand and gave me a hearty slap on the back.
Well guys I really don't know what to say, this is a real honor but I know how to say thanks! Lets go to the "Club" and the first three rounds are on me, suddenly the room is cheering.
Many rounds are consumed, some of us head for the steam room and we all have a good time. I know I was initiated by most there and no doubt will have a sore arse in the morning.
Well after lots of fun we ultimately had a late dinner. The next morning we pack up and head for the Boot Camp and after getting our gear all sorted out during the ride back my attention was drawn to keeping quite about the extra activities that we all taken part in; I simply said what activities and with that I got a big hug from the nearest of crew sitting by me and a quite word saying thanks mate.
We all had a meeting with the rest of the training crew that evening to advise them on some of the changes we were going to make.
It was interesting to see the reaction when some of he crew was told that to lead you must lead them through and mud or water. It turned out there were several strong objections you could see Frank making notes re the objectors.
The meeting wrapped up and it was obvious that some were not happy at all, saying they were going to request transfer to another camp.
The next day turned out to be the three day out in the woods event and Frank made sure that those leading adhered to the new guidelines.
I'm not going to tell you what happened during that event other than crew changes took place over the next few weeks.
So being in the Army is not so bad once you break through the ice (Mud); I'm now promoted to Sergeant and responsible for designing new rugged courses for training our new recruits and I must say the majority actually enjoy the courses.
I should add that like most of the other officers wear rubber lined camouflage gear so we have the best of both worlds.
