I was lucky to save enough from my first year's salary to take a holiday in Bangkok after my girl friend and I had finally split up. There had been something wrong with our relationship for some time but I couldn't put my finger on what was the root of the trouble. We just drifted apart. I just had a feeling that I wasn't the marrying kind of guy.
Bangkok was a great place to visit. I was getting over the culture shock and I was enjoying the city on my own during the daytimes. The Thai people were so friendly and there was so much to see and do. The evenings were the problem. I yearned for some English company to go out on the town with.
One morning I was sitting at the hotel poolside when a young man about the same age as myself approached the bar, sat down and asked for a beer that he drank greedily. His T-shirt seemed to stick to his muscular torso and I admired his mop of black curly hair and his dark blue eyes.
"Hot enough for you?" he asked me as he ordered another beer.
I nodded and smiled at him.
"My name's Paul. I'm from Camberley in Surrey" he said holding out his hand.
I shook it and told him that my name was Tom and that I lived in a town just a few miles from his. We chatted for a while about Bangkok and Thailand. Paul told me that he came out every year.
"There you are you mutt-head" another young English guy shouted from the hotel doorway. "I've spent a hell of a time combing the place for you. Why did you give me the slip?"
"Well you've found me now" Paul said with a smile. "Come here and have a beer."
The young man approached. He was smartly dressed and had very fine, regular features. I thought that he was no older than twenty.
"Tom I'd like you to meet Dave, my partner in life," Paul said.
I gulped visibly.
"What would I do without you?" Paul said as he put his arm around Dave and ruffled his fine blond hair.
Then he turned to me and said "I hope that I've not embarrassed you Tom but we're gay and that's it. Nothing can change us."
I found it difficult to reply.
At last I said "Oh that's all right. I'm not prejudiced. But I've never met an openly gay couple before."
"We've tried girls but it never worked out," Paul said.
"How did you to get together?" I asked trying to keep our conversation going.
Paul laughed out loud. "We met at school," he said. "I was in the fourth form when this little angel joined the first. I fancied him from my first glance at him but I held back because of his age. Then I noticed him seeking me out like sitting next to me on the school bus."
"And then he struck!" continued Paul. "I was flabbergasted. He knew exactly how to get his man.
"How do you mean?" I asked him.
"We were coming back from a school trip to Stratford-on-Avon," Paul went on. "It was dark and the coach lights were out. Most kids had got their heads down and, without any encouragement from me, Dave unzipped my trousers and gave me my first blowjob!"
"It was Heaven," said Dave. "I'd been working up the courage for a long time before I finally made it."
My face flushed and my cock became a little stiff as I imagined the scene in my mind.
"After that," Dave went on, "never a school day went by without a cuddle or more at break or lunchtime." "You were lucky not to be found out," I said to them.
"We were," said Dave. "We used to help our art teacher some lunchtimes mixing paints in his back room. He caught us at it several times but just told us to carry on being nice to each other!"
"We bumped into him last year in a London gay club," Paul said with a chuckle. "He came over to us and jokingly told us that he still had the photos!"
"When Paul left school," Dave continued, "I got my mum to invite him to help me with my homework."
"We did get through a bit of homework," Paul said, "but not a lot. We shagged each other most of the time."
I was quite astounded at these revelations. Outwardly they gave the impression of just being good friends and yet, from what they had told me, they loved each other intensely. They were so easy in each other's company unlike many straight couples of similar ages.
"What do you guys do in the evenings out here?" I asked them.
"Disco dancing mainly," Paul replied. "There are some terrific gay nightclubs in the Patpong 3 area. Dave and I are dance fanatics."
"We've even won prizes," added Dave. "You should come and watch us tonight."
I didn't know what to say. I had never been to a gay disco before.
"We'll be waiting for you in the lobby at nine," Paul told me.
"Okay," I said with some trepidation.
That night something happened to me that was to change my life for ever...
To be continued...
