For all of you who got held up by the double posting and omission of chapters 4, 5, and 6, thank you for your patience. Nifty said there had been a problem with the cache. I received so many emails which is evidence of how many people are supporting my story. I am so grateful to know the story has attracted so many.
The chapters on Nifty have been cleaned up and are now all in order. For those who have not checked back, I have added chapter 4 at the end of this chapter just as an add on, otherwise, you can go back to see the drama that started it all. With that, I think its time to move. Josh and Tyson certainly are doing so.
A Stepbrother's Desire - Josh and Tyson 7
I woke up. I wasn't sure where I was and my vision was blurry. I detected that my family was there. In a groggy voice, I said, "Hey mom, hey dad." They came over to the bed and then I saw Tyson was there too. Bill gripped my arm and said, "glad you could join us, son," then he slipped out of the room looking emotional.
"Where did he go?" I asked.
Mom said, "I think you called him dad, Josh. How do you feel?" she asked, wiping my cheek.
"A lot of soreness," I said, feeling it all down my right side. "Did I call him dad?" I asked, not remembering. "Hey Ty," I said looking into his beautiful face. That was the face I would like to wake up to, just not in a hospital bed.
So the short version of all this was I had received a contusion on the right side of my head which should result in a severe concussion. I had a broken rib, three small bones in my hand were broken and I had a fractured femur. At least all the damage was contained to one side, I thought.
Bryce had heard the racket caused by me and the car and had come running. He called 911 and the ambulance brought me to the hospital. They had allowed me to remain sedated until Saturday afternoon when my brain activity showed normal. The doctor informed me that the really good news was that there was no brain damage, neck, or spinal injury. Thank goodness because I didn't want my football career wrecked over this.
The perpetrator has fled and they are looking for him. They made an identification based on his car and Donnie Cox would soon be apprehended. They are thinking very serious charges. Very serious.
I don't want to get into all the family conversation and reliving the event so I am going to bump up to the when the football team came in. So the coach secured permission from the hospital administrator to allow the team to visit me. So we had to have that meet and greet in one of the larger waiting rooms. He made them enter the hospital and travel the halls in single file which I understand was quite a scene. It was an awkward occasion. While I really appreciated seeing them all, I couldn't really talk. They sort of just leaned on replays from the football games and emphasized how great it was to have me on the team.
After a time of this, coach had them wheel me back into my room. I didn't see my family. He said they had been given a chance to go eat and freshen up. When the nurses helped me back into the bed, coach took a seat by my bed.
"Son, Josh, I have volunteered to take a bullet for the team. The team, your doctors, your family. It's not..."
"What do you mean a bullet? What's going on coach?"
"Josh, there is no easy way to tell you this but everyone agrees the sooner we do it, the faster you can get on with recovery. The fact is, the season is over for you." And before I could say anything, he put a finger up telling me to hush. "There is so much damage to the right side of the body, the doctors say you will recover but not in time for this football season. Now let me tell you this; I have witnessed several difficult injuries on the football field and son, I'm damn thankful this kind of trauma did not happen to you on the field. However, this slumfuck has cost us both this season. I honestly could not have looked forward to a better season having you on the team. You're the best of our times and I'm gonna miss you," he concluded.
I was shocked. "What are you talking about? I have a couple of injuries. They'll heal. The doctors said so. No permanent damage, that's what they said!" showing a raging temper.
"That's right Josh, you will heal but not in the timeframe that will benefit this season. You couldn't pass a physical if we waited til Thanksgiving, son. I'm really sorry. Really," he said, taking my hand and pressing his face down on it.
I think you all know how I felt at that moment and while I really wanted to slam the coach for this, I was laying there looking at a defeated man, who had decided to be the bearer of bad news to save everyone else from having to do it. So the rest of my family would not have to bear the brunt of my temper.
The rest of the evening and night time was very hard for me. If I slept it was because of the drugs. Tyson spent some time in my room and I could talk to him for a bit but grogginess kept taking over. He knew I was upset and didn't say much. I was glad for it.
People were in and out of my room for the next day. Mom said they were contemplating my release for Tuesday. All I needed now was bed rest and didn't need a hospital bed for that. The doctor came in and was talking to me about what I could do and couldn't do when I interrupted him. "Doctor Perrow, is it true what coach said about me not playing football the rest of this season? Is that your opinion?"
"Yes Josh, it is. It's not the opinion I would have liked to give but it is the honest one," he said, taking the chair by my bed. "Josh, I knew who you were when I saw your name come up on my leaderboard Saturday morning. I had a sickening feeling when I found it really was you."
"How did you know me?" I asked.
"My son plays football for Graft High, they are double AA, so they wouldn't play your team. He and his friends have talked about it. They would have loved to face off with you guys, not to try to beat you, but just to see you in action," he said. And that's when my face blew up. My cheeks swelled and my vision blurred. The tears ran down my face. It was an awful cry, the kind you can't control. The kind that makes all your facial fluids rise to the surface. He gripped my arm and said, "Josh, right now you think all your greatness lies with football and you won't have anything else that will make you great. Well, when I was your age I didn't know I was going to be a great doctor with a lot of responsibility in a large hospital like this one. You understand? There are cases we get as doctors that make us feel great. We save the day. We heal. We fix that which is broken. Then there are those cases where we don't save the arm. We have to remove the organ. We see abuse, violence, the impact of drugs and I have developed the skill to overlook the tragedy and see the brighter future. There are things out there that will reinstate your greatness. You will have to be patient and resourceful. The hole you will dig for yourself in the near future will be a natural one and I want to be sure you know this one thing. You with me? You cannot get out of the hole alone and your friends and family can't get you out of it by themselves. Remember that, Josh. Remember that," he said softly.
I didn't say anything. I just nodded. I heard what he was saying and yes, I agreed, the pity party I was about to embark on would be noticeable.
I returned home to my room and to my bed. The cast on my leg was the biggest nuisance and the cast on my hand was the second biggest. I slept a lot. When I would wake up, I would see Tyson sitting there next to my bed. He was there like every hour or so when I would come to. He held my left hand and I let him. That felt nice. He was so quiet though. Just the lightest small talk then he would tell me to rest.
Wednesday evening I woke and he wasn't there. I called to my mom to come up. She ran in, "You ok Josh, what's wrong?" she asked in a panic.
"Nothing mom. Where's Ty?"
"He's at tennis practice. He didn't want to go but I told him to get out of here. How are you feeling?"
"I'm ok mom but I think we need to start cutting those painkillers. They are killing me. I mean, I was awake a lot at the hospital and all I'm doing here is sleeping. Can you do that?" I asked.
"Sure can, Josh. And the fact you are asking makes me feel really good. I don't like all those meds to begin with. I don't want you having opioid issues. Are you hungry?"
"Yes I am. Can I get a hamburger with lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise?" Mom laughed.
"Sorry, didn't bring my waitress pad," she said, swatting my arm. "Listen, Josh, you might talk to Ty about this whole thing when you're in the right frame of mind. He's having a hard time. We have tried but he won't listen," she said.
"What do you mean?"
"He thinks this whole thing is his fault."
"It's not."
"He thinks it is. If he had handled the first thing better, you would not have had to save him then incur the wrath of Mr. Cox's revenge. He's pretty hung up on it."
"It's my fault, mom. I will talk to him."
"No it's not your fault either. Why does everything have to be someone else's fault?" she asked.
"Because Mom, I overdid it. I asked for this. I should have known something was possible."
"Not understanding. What are you talking about?"
"Mom, I beat the shit out of that guy. I didn't need to but I did. My rage was out of control."
"Of course it was."
"No, it was out of control because this was Ty." And this banter went back and forth a few more times when I finally spelled it out for her. I could have led any number of guys out of a situation like that and not raised a hand, well, unless they tried to challenge me. But in this instance, my rage was directly related to them doing this to Tyson. There was nothing about that scene on the ballfield I could stand to stand to see again. I could have told her about our feelings but didn't.
"So you're saying the boys picking on Ty made you that angry? You felt possessive, is that what you're saying?"
"So to speak but yes. He's mine, mom. No way around it."
"Gracious, Josh. I have never heard you so adamant about anyone. I have to say, Bill has asked me several times if we have done enough to set you two up for success and I didn't think we should interfere. You two would find a way and it appears you have. I think he will be very happy to hear this. Now, the `at fault thing? Well, you don't eat the blame for Ty's sake but you need to settle him down. He has been so adamant about taking care of you I'm afraid he will slip in school and tennis."
"I got it mom. We will be ok. Just give us some space and I'll work it out," I told her. She kissed my forehead and told me meds will be cut to a minimum and she would bring me up a chicken sandwich because she had grilled chicken tenderloins out on the grill earlier.
Ty came in after tennis practice and I reiterated what I had already told him but wanted him to get his shit together. "Ty, I told you that none of this is your fault. And I didn't know that guy would have it in him to try and run me down with a car. I pushed him too far and this is what I got," I told him. The more I talked about it, the more the pity party overtook me. I felt I was sinking in that hole Dr. Perrow had mentioned. I cost myself the football season. Probably cost the team theirs as well. I asked Ty if I could be alone and yep, that was the start of the official hole diggin ceremony!
I woke up in the middle of the night because I had tried to roll onto my right side but couldn't and also I found the covers weighted down so I could hardly move at all. I looked over and found Ty asleep beside me. The clock said 1:00 AM. I inched my way onto my left side and put my casted hand over him. He pressed back into me. I told him to get up and get under the covers. He did and laid his head on my shoulder.
"Hey babe, whatcha doin' in here?" I asked.
"I wanted to be near you. I just don't want to talk about that stuff anymore. I'm so afraid I'm going to lose you over it even though it was what got us together," he said, nudging his face into my neck.
"You're not losing me, Ty. In fact, I'm probably going to need you more than you know. You're the only one who will be here, to help me, to see me at my worst. Noone else is going to want to deal with this. I don't want to lose you over it!"
"Let's not talk about it, Josh," and he kissed my neck. Well that's a sure way to get out of a hole.
"Do it again," I said and he did. "Again," I said, and this time, he wet his lips and they swept over my neck like wet fruit. I turned my head and our lips met. The kiss was wonderful. I just forgot about my painful right side. I just let go of the pity for a few minutes. He ran his body down my torso and found something not unsurprising. I was hard. It was funny. I had to laugh a bit. He gripped me, and growled into my ear, "Oh I see something here that isn't broken," he said and I loved the wit. He stroked me.
"It's only been like five days since I came. You better be careful what you ask for," I told him.
"Let me take care of this, for you, stud. It's the least I can do," he said.
He bent his body down toward my crotch and he took me in his mouth. Between his lips, his tongue, his warm spit, and some amazing suction, he got me close very fast. He was sucking up and down in full swing and I told him, "Hey, hey, I'm gonna cum. I'm there, babe, lift off," I said trying to push him off and he locked down on my cock and I probably had the single best orgasm of my life. Five days was a record for me, no doubt, but this level of stimulation had me seeing stars and the fact my baby just swallowed the whole load, well, I couldn't speak. I'm just glad I didn't belt out and wake the whole house. Seriously.
He came back up and said, "I hope that did it. Your cum was amazing," he said.
I kissed him some more, then I pulled away.
"Ty, what happened with college boy? I completely forgot about that. Is it over?" I asked.
"Yes, babe, it's over and just in time. When I went to his apartment, he had another friend there and they had taken shots and, um, Josh, I think it was about to be another assault. They were planning on tag teaming me. He thought I was going to be in to that. His frat brother wanted to try a piece of ass," he said, sounding horrified.
"Goddammit, Ty. I'm not going to let you out of this house ever again! You got out of there in time?"
"Yes, I told him I wasn't into that and it was apparent we were over. He tried to change my mind but I backed toward the door and told him he couldn't touch me again. I was too young for gangbanging. He told me it was fine and didn't mean to offend me and I left. He texted me sorry but I told him I was done. I haven't heard back from him. I don't think he wil attack us, for fuck sake."
Ok, that's for the best. Now Ty was mine and if that's all I have left after all of this shit, well I would take it and not complain.
"Ty," I whispered quietly, in the dark of the room, "Dr Perrow warned me I might slip into a dark hole. I'm teetering, I think. I feel down for like two minutes then I feel up for one. You have to be patient with me. I'm going to work on it. I just don't know how to deal with football. I really don't," I admitted.
"I understand. You've taken a big hit."
"I don't think you can understand but I appreciate your..."
"Josh, I lost my mom. I mean I really lost her. She's gone and I never thought I would be the same after that. I went down my own hole. I know," he said.
"Oh Ty, I'm sorry. That was selfish of me to say. I didn't think about that. Yes, you would know above everyone. I will remember that from now on,"
"Mom and dad have events Friday and Saturday. I'm going to stay here with you. Tristan wants to come over. He is beside himself about all of this. He texts me everyday about you."
"That will be great Ty. If I get mouthy, just throw some duct tape across my mouth," I said with a giggle.
"Oh I might do that even if you don't get mouthy," he said and we were both laughing. "You can't fight back. I might have a chance for a change," he said.
"Oh you dirty boy," I thought.
A Stepbrother's Desire - Josh and Tyson 4A - the missing chapter
So Monday was a nondescript day. I asked Ginny if she would go with me to the homecoming dance. She said yes, thankfully. She said it was a close call because She knew Stuart Parker was going to ask her and he was a close second to me. I was relieved because that kept me out of clutches of Crocodile Lisa. The great thing about Ginny is that she not assuming and doesn't expect every popular boy to be her boyfriend. Homecoming - check.
Tuesday turned out to not be so nondescript. It was a usual day of classes until at 2 pm, a flashtext popped up showing a picture of Tyson, in a tennis skirt. Did you get that? A tennis skirt. Well I knew it was fake but the rest of the school got wound up. The chatter in the hallways was blowing up. I checked the second floor hallway for Ty but couldn't find him. I couldn't find Tristan either. It was a big wing and I didn't have time to scour the first and third hallways looking for him. I went to my last class and still the chatter and giggles went on. I had texted Tyson like three times and hadn't heard back from him. He's a strong guy but I was getting worried.
As I headed to the locker rooms for football practice, I headed for my car to drop off my bookbag when I noticed some movement down on the baseball pitch. So, no one is allowed on the baseball pitch unless the baseball coach sanctions it. The guys down there were acting up in a peculiar way when I noticed one of them in an orange shirt. I recognized that shirt because it was the one that Tyson was wearing this morning. I put my hands over my eyes like vizor to see more clearly and this was not playtime. They were rough housing with Tyson. "What the fuck!" I screamed out. Just then a girl yelled, "What's going on down there?" and some other students started pointing. "Nothing good," I shot back. I took off for the stairs, jumping three as I went down. "How many fucking stairs are there for God's sake!" I yelled. Must be like a three story building.
I reached the bottom and skipped a step and hit the track. Just a ways down, I entered the baseball field just in time to see the lead guy push Ty toward the other two. Not thinking it was their chance to catch him, he fell into the dirt. Oh my good god was I mad. I reached one of the guys and punched him in the face. He went down. I turned and got to the lead guy as the third guy ran away. I hit him hard in the face just as he was about to give me some stupid grin. I lifted him by his shirt and punched him again, this time in the mouth. His lip split and blood leaked out.
"What the fuck do you think youre doing?" I asked. He just rubbed his jaw and moaned. "Its not rhetorical question shitface! Do you think this is funny?" I demanded. Still no answer.
Ty said, "he demanded I give him $1000 or he would ruin my life. He sent that pic of me," Ty said accusingly.
"I did not demand anything," he said.
"Yes you did! I still have that text moron!" shouted Ty sitting up.
"You put that shit in writing? You really are stupid. Goddamn stupidest thing I have ever heard of!"
I leaned over and helped Tyson up. He had some dirt on his face and some scratches. I looked down at the bully and said to him in a deep growl, one that would not be considered sexy, "if you ever come near him again, I mean even by accident, I will make this little show look like Sunday School! Got me?" I asked. He didn't respond. "Not much for words now are you? I screamed.
I took Tyson by the hand and led him away. Ol' boy laying on the ground screamed, "you will pay for this Mr. Quarterback! Yeah, I know who you are. You got nothing on me! Got me?" he asked, mocking me.
I turned and looked back at him, "you will be talking when they drop you off at the emergency room but you won't be able to do much more!" I started pulling Ty again and he pulled his arm away. "You're dragging me, Josh. Stop!"
"I'm sorry Ty. I'm so angry. Hey, are you ok? Are you hurt anywhere?"
"No, I'm ok. It's just so humiliating. What a fucking mess," he said.
I took him by his hand and this time gently led him to the gate. Some watchers were all standing there and wanted us to talk to them. "Out of the way," I commanded and I pushed by them and walked back toward the stairs. I looked up at them, "Do you need me to carry you or can you walk them?" I asked.
"I can walk them," Ty said.
"Praise God!" I said and he chuckled. Ok, we laughed all the way up those stairs. When we got to the parking lot, my bag sitting by the car where I had left it. I could see the team heading out to the field for practice. I wouldn't be there today. I texted coach. Big emergency. Will explain later. Ty said his car was in the front lot but I wasn't going to let him drive home. I figured Bill and I could come back later and get his car, the little mini cooper.
When we got into the car, Ty told me how he and Tristan had ran into the guy and his two stooges over by the University. They were picking at Ty and Tristan about being rich kids and fags and how the two usually went together. Tristan had made the mistake of saying, "Come on Ty, lets get out of here," and that's how the guy located Ty. Had been picking at him and stalking him on facebook. Found them at the movies one previous weekend and told him to fork over some money. When Ty told him to go to hell, he went quiet until he sent out the picture which he had found on Ty's facebook page.
I called Mom and she didn't answer. I remembered the emergency message she had planned with me years ago in case of trouble. "Code Red. call" was my text said. She called within minutes and I told her what had happened. She flipped her shit there in her office. Said she would meet us at home.
When we pulled into the drive, she pulled in behind us about the time I was getting my bag from the truck. She leapt out of the car quickly and ran to Tyson and gave him a big hug. She wiped his face and led him into the house. My blood was boiling, as you could imagine. I had never felt so much rage. Honestly. And who would be so stupid? I mean Tyson Breck may be the gay guy in school but he's well connected. Having friends like Bryce Chatley and John, well these are not guys to fuck around with.
Tyson was at the kitchen table and mom was getting off the phone with Bill. She told me to take him upstairs and get him fresh clothes and wash his face off. Tyson could tell the story to Bill when he got home so he wouldn't have to repeat it.
Bill pulled in thirty minutes later. He joined us at the kitchen table. Tyson walked him through the whole thing. Bill asked some clarifying questions and I pulled out my phone to show him the picture. He shook his head in disbelief.
Mom said she hadn't thawed anything for dinner. You know this is life in the South. If you don't thaw something, you have nothing to cook. She suggest she would order Chinese and Bill and I could go pick it up and get Ty's car at the same time. Bill said that was a great idea. He wanted to change clothes and he wanted to talk to my mom about next steps.
I took Ty upstairs and he was ok but he was very quiet. I laid down on his bed and, well, I was just standing there, so I laid down beside him and spooned him. I put my arm under him and the other over him.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
"I'm not letting you go, Ty. I got you," I whispered in his ear. "I want you safe and snug. Want me to get up?" I asked.
"No," was all he said and he pressed back into me. We were laying like that for a while and almost fell asleep when Mom came in. "Oh shit," I thought. I felt so exposed. So gay!
"What are you doing honey?" she asked me. I looked up at her, without trying to add to my guilt.
"I didn't want him to be alone. He's fallen asleep," I told her.
"Oh my God, you two. I'm so glad you have each other." She whispered in my ear, "You're a good man Josh Warner," and she wiped my hair. "Can you go with Bill and pick up the food and Ty's car?" "Yeah," I said untangling myself from Ty. I know you were all thinking I had my chance lying there with him but it wasn't like that, not at this moment. I showed him my love but not the dick and ass kind. I would hold him like that all night if he let me.
Bill explained in the car that he had talked to the Principal Dillard who had already heard of the incident and he would interview us tomorrow morning. If there was a police report to file, we would file it in conjunction with the school since it was on their property. Just in case the idiot guy called Mooch decided to call the police, we wanted to self identify. I didn't believe we would hear from him again.
That night after dinner, we all hung together in the family room until bed time. I went into my room and undressed and crawled into my bed. A few minutes later, Ty came through the bathroom door and stood by my bed.
"What's wrong? Are you ok?" I asked.
"Oh yeah," he said. "But I wanted to see if I could stay in here with you," he said flatly. I lifted the comforter and he slipped.
"Why don't I have silky sheets like these?" he asked.
"I brought these with me, silly. I can't have scratchy toilet paper sheets rubbing against this ass," I said, lifting my backside slightly. He laughed.
I laid down on my back and he crawled up onto my shoulder and put his head by my neck.
"Sorry if you think this looks gay and whatever," he said. "I was just so glad when you showed up this afternoon. I was really glad," he said. I put my arm around him and squeezed him to me.
"No, Ty, I am going to come running when you need me. I guess it's time I draw it out for you. EVer since I moved into this house, Ty, this is where I would have liked you to be. All I have wanted to do is touch you, hear your voice, look at your sexy body. Its been a struggle for me, actually," I said finally admitting the truth.
"What!" he exclaimed. I had to shush him from not waking the parents who were down the hall. "But Ty, I mean, you're the big football player. I didn't know. I just thought when I met you, that you were a hot guy but then after you moved in, I thought you were funny and smart and it was like, I don't know, I tried to keep you at a distance so I wouldn't give my feelings away."
I laughed since apparently we had been thinking and doing the same things. "But you Josh? Gay? I can see your flirts now but before, I just didn't get you," he told me.
"I have known since about 12 and I decided that football was my life. I would keep it in until I graduated then go out and live my life. I wouldn't have met anyone like you in my old school so moving here just caused me all kinds of anxiety. Football has kept me mostly distracted. Then you brought in that cute Tristan the other day, and oh my God, I have been missing out on not knowing guys like you. So incredible," and before I could finish, he kissed me. Oh went for the jugular. His lips grabbed mine, my tongue got pulled into his, and, wow, it was the most amazing thing I have ever felt. His soft skin pressing against mine was just about all I could take. We would do this for a long time. Just kiss, and make goo goo eyes at each other in the dark. I made him set the alarm on his phone for 6 am so he could be out of here when the parents woke up.
I slept like a baby with him by my side, neither of us daring to pull away.
