You know the deal, This is all a work of fiction, blah blah blah. --Alec --------------------------------------------------------------------

The First

The lights flickered, a low hum hanging in the distance. I stood over Ashley, her eyes full of fear. Her whimpers of pain were humorous. She tried to stand, only to fall from the force of my kick. I heard Ian stand from behind, and I swung my arm at him. His face collided with my hand, and he groaned. I pulled him by his collar, throwing him into Ashley. They rolled, crashing into the wall. I moved to the counter, pulling out a sharp blade. I smiled as Ashley screamed. Ian moved in front of her, and I plunged the knife into his leg. He swore, crying out in pain. I laughed once more, returning to the counter.

I removed another knife, and stood back at him. With a quick slash, I slit his throat. Blood poured out of his neck; He gagged. Ian shook violently, blood pouring down his body. Finally, he fell down, squirting crimson liquid onto the tile. Ashley screamed, words weren't coming out. Another knife, and it was time to handle her. She kicked me in my knee and I yelled at her. Without a moment to waste, I leaped on her, pushing the knife into her. I repeated the process, stabbing and smiling. Moments later, her body lay still. I stood, and moved through the house. This was not mine, yet I knew my way around it. I climbed the stairs, and made my way into the bathroom. I flicked the water on, dabbing the blood off of myself. I looked into the mirror, pausing for a second. I had murdered two people. I had murdered Ian, who saved my life. Ashley, who was innocent. I looked into my own eyes, and smiled.

My heart pounding, I shot up instantly. Sweat was dripping down my body, my pajamas sticking to my body. I trembled violently, my eyes tearing up. The dream was the worst I'd ever had. I grabbed the blanket, wrapping myself in it. Flattening my hair, I closed my eyes. I would never do that. I liked Ian, and Ashley wasn't terrible. The thoughts of this afternoon when I fell in the snow raced back into my head. I needed Ian, but he still wasn't back yet. Tomorrow. Tomorrow, Ian will be back, and I will be fine. Tricking myself into believing this was easy. I finally lie back down, closing my eyes. I stayed up for an hour, waiting for sleep to hit me. Finally, I drifted to sleep.

The morning hit me like a punch. I sat up, smiling. Ian sat at the foot of his bed, The television barely sounding. He turned around, his hair messy. I smiled at him, and he did the same to me.

"Mornin'. How was yesterday?"

"Oh. Um, it was great." I lied. He laughed, and moved by me. He messed around on the bed until he was next to me.

"How was your, um, business trip?" I asked.

"It was good. Well except for the trip home. That was a nightmare-" Nightmare. My heart pounded again, trying to hide it.

"-because traffic was way to busy. I got here at like three in the morning."

"Ah." I laughed. I needed to bring this dream up. "Well, speaking of nightmares, I had one last night."

He nodded, then asked, "About?" I nervously played with my thumbs before talking.

"Well, it was about me, um...killing two people." I tried. His reaction was quick. He was suddenly alert, paying full attention to me.

"And who were these people?" He asked.

"Um, Ashley and...you." I confessed. He took a quick breath after I said him.

"What was it like?"

"I was really angry, but I couldn't stop. I, um, slit your throat, and stabbed Ashley to death." I said, my eyes watering up. I can't believe I'm crying. It was just a dream.

"What happened before you went to bed. Did you feel angry or sad, but you didn't know why?"

"Y-yeah. Why?" I asked.

"Please tell me your okay." He asked looking into my tearing eyes. I nodded, but then burst into tears. I shouldn't have been crying but I felt horrible. Ian was here being protective, yet I had just dreamed of slaughtering him.

He pulled me into him, and I sobbed. I looked up at him through teary eyes. His face was blurred, being obscured from the light outside. His finger swept across my eyes, clearing the water. I looked at his face, slowly moving towards it. I could feel his heart beat, quickening. His other hand wrapped around my body, and I scooted towards him. Our faces inches apart, I finally started breathing again. His lips pressed to mine, soft and warm. I felt him exhale on my lip, and I closed my eyes. I was ready to wake up, but I couldn't. This was really happening. Our lips danced together, already knowing where to moves. Unfortunately, I had to breathe, and I pulled away. I buried my face in his chest, holding him.

Moments passed as I lay in Ian's arms. Finally, he pulled away, climbing out of bed. I watched him open his phone, and dial a number. The phone rung as Ian waited.

"Hey, Ashley. Yeah, but listen. Riley's having...he's started having the dreams." He said. I watched as he mumbled, but it wasn't clicking. What did Ian mean by "the dreams"?

"Yeah, get here soon. I'll see you too. Bye." He closed the phone.

Hey! Sorry it took forever to get it done. I've been so busy with classes, it's just been...a hot mess. I'll just say that. Anyway, sorry for the wait. I'm writing another story too, so I'm on work overload. Hopefully I get the next chapter out soon, haha. Anyway, you can email me with comments and junk at: AKissDownUnder@live.com

Love ya guys, Alec!
